➳ Adelaide winced as she heard a cry finally emit from behind her, not having braced herself for it. Her mind wandered back to the older, middle-aged woman that was in the cart and she realized that she had to be the source of the screech now echoing behind her. The satchel, she came to notice, seemed less heavy than she thought for something valuable, much to her dismay, though she didn't show it. She probably hadn't picked up something of much value after all, making this whole heist a waste. And she was already paying the price for it, knowing that someone would be on her trail any second. She slid the sack into her belt and tried to gain speed, regretting that she hadn't brought her horse. Rohan was still up on the ledge above the now shifting carriage, and she wasn't sure if he had noticed her or not.
She let her head roll to her shoulder on her right side for just a moment to see a rather formally-fitted woman following dangerously close behind, her red tresses of hair very noticeable in the wind. She felt her heart pounding in her chest as she turned around again. The only way she could have some attempt at losing her was to turn into the wood, as that was her terrain. As she thought this, her footing veered off the path and into a cluster of trees in a desperate attempt to lose the woman behind her.
The ground lifted semi-drastically as she mounted the hill now present in front of her, dotted with clumps of trees. She felt herself already starting to slow down, but she stayed persistent and watched her footing, trying all she could to steer clear of the girl behind her. She wasn't sure if the guards had noticed as the ordeal had gone down, but with the chaos of the moment, they, too, would be on her trail. Addie internally scolded herself for having carried this out. Why did she have to be so reliant on instinct, false or not, more so than common sense? And was that pawsteps now sounding behind her, too? She didn't bother to look, but tried to keep a clear head as she went on.((OOC))

ALVERE.
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
[ male ] [ seulghem ] [ tagged: kai, valoria, adelaide ]
The Istoth man heeded his words and began to lead the way - on foot, Alvere noticed with a grim smile - and he gently nudged his horse forwards at a steady, even walking speed. There was no point in speeding off and leaving this man in the dust. If he was well-known, he would ease their way into the kingdom and, if they had any problems, they themselves would be able to fend them off. That was why himself and the other Royal Guards were there, and Alvere had confidence in their abilities.
This confidence was shattered moments later. Screams and yells for help rose above the wind behind him and Alvere shot his head around, dark eyes darting around until he spotted two young women running away from one of the carriages, with an older woman stretching her arms out. The first girl seemed to have a bag of some sort, and the other, even from a distance, was obviously some noblewoman or other, although her choice of outfit was strange.
Swearing rapidly under his breath, Alvere quickly ordered two men nearby to go after the thief, just as the Istoth man - who had called himself Kai - shifted once more and rushed off, a pale spotted pelt dancing over the grassy hills. The horses, while obviously spooked, were kept under control as the two Seulghem men joined the pursuit. Alvere could only hope that they caught the thief and the stolen items. They had to be important for the other woman to follow. Turning to look at the other carriages, Alvere now ordered for the remaining guards to speak to everyone, to calm them down. They all needed to be calm when entering the enemy kingdom.

As Kei ran, the girl giving chase soon came clearly into his vision. It only took a moment for his thundering paws to propel him past her. He glanced at her and nodded backwards, as if trying to tell her to simply head back. The sound of others giving chase reassured him and he turned back to the path before him. He powered past the maiden, his tail lashing out behind him. His eyes found his target once more, narrowing as he focused on the task at hand. He saw her deviate from her path and dash into the woods. She was trying to outrun them.
A feline smirk crossed his features and he followed. Snow leopards were made for bounding over obstacles and humans were clearly not. His large paws and lithe frame allowed him the optimum mobility. It also helped that his hearing and smell helped him track down anything he so chose. Come on, little girl, just give it up already...

➳ Adelaide heard more feet pound the grass and didn't bother to turn, feeling her heart beating a mile a minute. The guards had finally caught up, and some animal. Probably a shapeshifter, because the odds of a wild cat randomly turning on her as well didn't seem too likely in this circumstance. A flash of white came onto view out of the corner of her eye and she felt the heat pulsing through her form grow hotter, finally feeling fear of actually being caught. Her speed was decreasing slowly, and her heart rate was soaring, by the feeling of it, and her adrenaline was in spikes. Not that she wanted it to be that way. She wasn't one for high-speed chases, more so for stealth sneaking, so this was definitely a challenge.
Her mind was racing and she didn't know what she was doing until she had already set the brown-leather bag on the forest floor. Addie had retrieved it from her tunic and set it upon the dry earth. She wasn't going to need it, anyhow. She doubted it would help with her predicament of the moment, but it wasn't like herbs were going to come in handy for her bartering sprees with the local orcs. It may have been viewed as cowardly, giving up the loot of a heist, but it was all that she could offer. She had never regretted a job as much as this one before; All of it had gone wrong, and she was about to pay for it. The pawsteps gained on her and she almost felt the pounding paws step right on her heels.
She knew that she was going to lose, Even with her pessimistic state of mind, there was no way she was going to get past this misfit mirage of enemies practically on top of her now. But she couldn't let them feel satisfaction for her losing, and she wasn't gong to go down without a fight. She had no choice but to stop. The wood opened up into a small clearing just as she stopped, trying to catch her breath as she leaned against a tree for a moment before standing opposite the shapeshifter, her hand going to the hilt of her dagger and pulling it out of her belt out of instinct.((OOC))

Elizabeth had finished visiting villages for today, all except one that is. She and Aiden rode through a wooded area now, near a path that would lead to Istoth. Movement on the path caught her attention, and she brought her stallion to a hault, peering through the trees. She saw a group bearing the markings of Seulghem. Huffing, she figured this was the group who would attempt to make peace with Istoth. Yet, because this could effect her people, she followed them along the trees for a bit.
Whilst keeping an eye on the carriage and horses, Elizabeth had witnessed a woman thief, like herself, steal from the carriage and run away, several others chasing after her. Amateur, the young blonde thought to herself, pushing back her bangs from her eyes. Bringing Aiden around, she set off further into the forest, heading towards the last village she needed to visit today. This village was rather close to Istoth, and in fact, it could be consider a part of the main city if it wasn't so shabby and poor.
Upon arriving, Elizabeth dismounted and entered the village, once again handing out supplies. She wore a dark brown cloak that engulfed her body, a light brown tunic with bishop sleeves, and had what some would called a 'hug shoulder' neckline, tan leggings, and black leather boots that reached her knees. She also wore a black leather belt around her middle, black finger-less gloves. Her clothes were also dirty, worn, and torn. The girl's intentions were to look like a beggar.

{ Elizabeth has derped off to a village right next to Istoth to care for the poor, Alvere, Adelaide, Kai, and Valorie are all mingled up.. But basically Val and Alvere were in a group heading to Istoth to tried and create a peace treaty with Istoth, then Adelaide stole from the group, and I'm not sure what's up with them now x3

Valoria felt, rather than saw the leopard run past her. Slowing to a halt, Val let a rather un-ladylike word escape her mouth with vehemence. She needed that medicine. She had only been using it for two days, and already she'd felt stronger. The timing couldn't have been worse. Val looked around and sighed. Her hair was a complete mess; hat somewhere on the ground nearby, and there was no way she would be able to catch up to the thief. She had been a fool to even try. Val swore again, angrily turning around and stalking back towards the carriages.
All Valoria had succeeded in doing was looking like a fool and guaranteeing herself absolutely nothing to do, which infuriated her. Although she didn't run much, Val was fast, and she'd covered a surprising distance given her small stride. As a result, the walk back to the carriage was longer than the young lady had anticipated.
Val's maid rushed to meet her, asking after her medicine. "I couldn't catch up to the thief-" her maid scoffed, as if she'd never doubted Val wouldn't, "But I'm confident I'll be able to purchase some of the more common items I've lost," Val finished, reluctantly taking her hat from her maid. Internally, Val doubted her ability to acquire the herbs. Although they wouldn't be hard to find, Val was in a completely different country. Who knows how things worked in Istoth, she wondered angrily. Stalking back to Grella, Val mounted the mare and groaned in defeat. Things were not looking good.

As he ran, Kai started to feel the burn in his muscles. He would have to stop soon, or at least slow down. The only thing that kept him going was the hope that the human tired before he did. After a moment, he caught sight of her once more. The bag she was holding ended up on the ground, which made him nod happily. He shifted as he approached the girl, sliding the blades from their sheaths with accuracy. His hood hung over his face, but the glint in his eyes was still visible.
Panting slightly, Kai glanced at the girl. "Very foolish of you to attack a diplomatic envoy, girl. If I were anyone else, I wouldn't care. Being that I am a peronsal Royal Guard, it is my duty to apprehend you." Stalking towards her, he picked up the bag and slipped it onto his own belt before twirling his swords. "If you give up, it'll be easier on you. I've trained with blades since I was young, and you know that I can catch you..."
While the forest wasn't an ideal place to fight, Kai rather preferred it. It gave him more places to hide and it was harder for untrained people to be silent. His short blades weren't terribly impeded by the trees, though her dagger was even better for this area. His eyes narrowed slightly before he put his blades up offensively.
