Terrin Evans
With; Sylvie, Kazimir, Annabeth
Arashka & Coco & Shardas
With a relieved sigh, Terrin carefully slotted the last microphone into a small gap and enjoyed the step back from the stuffy heat inside to the soothing cold of outside. An aftermath of Arashka's 'magic powers' was a lot of leftover heat energy and it filled the small space with a jungle-like atmosphere and pleasant hint of freshly burned wood and ash. Wiping his brow, Terrin briefly considered the fact that heat could harm the sensitive equipment inside but quickly shrugged it off and turned away to breathe in some more fresh air. Probably not; it couldn't be more than, eh, 40'C in there anyway.

Sylvie, Kazimir ,and shortly after, Annabeth left HQ as Terrin slammed shut the van's back doors with a slight metallic clang. Arashka made a disturbed sound next to him, sensitive ears twitching slightly at the loud sound. "Don't you have something to collect?" she asked irritably, but Terrin remained oblivious to her telepathic hint.

"Nope, we're all set." he replied cheerfully, backing away from the van and waiting for everyone else to join.

Arashka frowned slightly at that before something alighted in her eyes. "Oh I don't know, Terrin, just a niggling thought that there's something- oh wait, wait...I'm seeing something." she feigned otherworldly realisation, eyes flashing open as she stood fully erect.

Terrin's interest heightened dramatically at that;
"You're seeing something? The future?" he asked in awe, mouth gaping slightly at the turn of events. What had she seen? Delphox were meant to foresee events when particularly focused he knew, so maybe she'd finally caught on.

"Yes...yes, I see you...running..." Arashka continued, staring dramatically into the mid distance and enjoying the look of anguish on her trainers' face. "...runnning. Running right now because you've forgotten Coco." she finished, dropping the enlightened voice and looking straight at him with a cocked eyebrow.

"Huh-wha-oh!" Terrin choked out, looking slightly crestfallen. And then standing alert again. "Ahh! Coco." He caught on and sprinted back to HQ as Kazimir opened up the van. How could he have forgotten her?! "Wait a sec, guys!" he yelled over his shoulder, prying open the door and slamming it shut again as his footsteps faded away to the sound of Arashka's laughing.

Coco and Shardas were still together when he arrived, panting, which was unusual. The Pyroar was smiling slyly at the great falcon, who stared ahead with obvious exasperation. At the sight of his trainer, the bird looked even relieved, especially as he dragged Coco away by wrapping his arms around her neck.
"C'mon, girl; we've gotta go. See ya Shardas!" he said cheerfully as the lioness wriggled free and snapped playfully at his fingers. Terrin briefly reached out to try and reach the Talonflame's head, who hesitated before reaching out for a quick fuss. He was gone quickly after that, Coco bounding and loping at his side with her tail flapping behind like a handkerchief waving farewell and leaving Shardas alone.

"Creepy little girl case today, Coco! Exciting, eh?" Terrin grinned at his Pyroar as he ran. She rumbled happily in response, skidding to a halt to allow the human to open the door. Some things were hard when you had paws and claws over fingers and nails. Ripping open enemies and clawing at blinds was a lot easier and satisfactory though, so it was a fair trade for opening doors.

Terrin gathered up both of his Pokemon's Pokeballs as he trotted over to the van, returning Arashka first and without warning for payback for her play-up earlier. She misliked that greatly.
"Right, Coco, I don't think you could fit in the van anyway so-" he said, returning the lioness with a beam of rippling red light. With that done, he opened the van's passenger door with a clunk and hauled himself in, grinning at Kazimir and his spiny little electric type that scarfed his shoulders like an angry porcupine. "Ready for some ghost hunting?" he beamed, looking at the older guy happily. He didn't talk much, so not much was known about him apart from "quiet and likes electric types". Then again, not much was known about his other companions anyway; Annabeth was a bit of a scaredy cat so he knew she needed some defence, Sylvie was mainly no-fun allowed and Everett was Everett.

ev rosenthel, post one

        xeverett rosenthel

the medium | tagged: the team | pokemon: severa [reuniclus], kairi [gardevoir]

"arceus help me," everett snarled, shoving his arms through the sleeves of his black jacket and slamming the front door of his modest house with as much fury as he could muster. his gardevoir, kairi, floated along behind him patiently, as unaffected by his ire as she ever was. severa, on the other hand, had been so unhelpful that morning that everett had evicted her from his presence by forcing her into her pokeball. there was only so much he could take from his spoiled reuniclus, and after waking up to the shrill sound of his xtransceiver ringing, his patience was hanging by a thread. unfortunately, he wasn't known for his punctuality at the KPIB, much to his team leader and boss' displeasure - in fact, it was just the opposite. there were things that everett could hear at night, faint whisperings of ghost and psychic pokemon that woke up him at ungodly hours and prevented him from falling back asleep. there could be hundreds of voices in his mind at any given time, like white noise filling up all the crevices of his brain. sometimes he wondered if his occupation was making him go crazy - or maybe it was just the fact that his boss expected him to get to the headquarters at the snap of her fingers when he could barely function due to lack of sleep.

massaging his temples, everett pulled out his xtransceiver from his pocket and stabbed annabeth's contact picture angrily. "anna? tell fala that i'm on my way - and if you leave before i get there, arceus help me, i'll get severa to haunt the girl myself." he snapped, ending the call before the blonde could answer, just as she had done earlier. desperately wishing he had the time to pick up a strong coffee, everett broke into a sprint up towards the KPIB. he was by no means a seasoned member of the team, seeing as he'd only joined a few weeks after his move to lavender town, but he was thankful to have the job nonetheless. to be honest, he was only a medium in name - any experienced pokemon could take his place [kazimir's claimed that his dragonair, for example, could act as his substitute, though ev doubted the likelihood of a dragon pokemon being able to communicate with ghosts] but everett was damn good at his job, and he was lucky enough that sylvie had recognized him for that. he'd heard of the enigmatic model long before joining the KPIB; while he had been a rising star and a relatively unknown face, she had been plastered over the fronts of magazines and newspapers. everett saw it is a mean twist of fate, to have crossed paths with one who had fame practically dripping out of her pores, when he had sought so desperately to leave that sort of life behind. he still remembered the face of his brother, staring up at him with cold, dead eyes, clutching at his arm with clawed fingers so brittle everett was sure he could snap them with a touch. it was like looking into a mirror and seeing a dying reflection of yourself in the glass; only it was his twin brother lying before him, struggling to live a life that had long since deserted him.

the next time everett came to visit, edward rosenthel was dead.

terrin had just entered the KPIB's van when everett arrived on scene, panting with effort. he wet his lips and jogged over to the side of the vehicle, where annabeth stood with her pokemon. "oh good, you're still here," he said dryly, wrenching open the door of the van. of all the people in the bureau, everett had to say that he got along with anna the best. she was the first person he'd met upon joining the team and the person who usually had to deal with his lateness [or at least the only person on the team who had patience to do so]. his gardevoir greeted anna's espeon, grace, telepathically, lowering her eyes demurely. sighing irritably, everett pulled a pokeball from his belt and released his reuniclus into the van with a quick flash of red light. "come on, we'd better get in before her majesty the queen starts shouting," he muttered, climbing in after severa.

"Her 'Majesty' would be more pleased if you acutely showed up on time, Everett. After five months of working here, you should now how I hate lateness."

A cool voice breezed though. Sylvie stood by the van, her hip cocked to the left with her long arms arms crossed. Her face was expressionless, though her ice blue eyes held a storm in their depths. Mistral sniggered at the blue man's entrance, partly hiding behind the model's long legs, claws wrapped around the taller one's leg.

Hehehehe~ What's the matter, Blueberry? Ghosty's been keeping you up late tonight? OoOoOh~watch out!

Out of all be human's in the KIPB, Ev was her favorite to play with. It was a shame that Sylvie had return Wolf back into his poke ball. Other wise he would be growling at the man to add to his displease of his lateness. Oh well, she'll have to make do with poking at the man until he snapped or snap at her owner, which would make it that more enjoyable. Either way, the dark and ice pokemon sniggered, closing her eyes at the various thoughts of tormenting the medium.

The blonde inogred her laughing pokemon. Letting out a pained sigh, Sylvie moved closer to the van, her fingers curving around the door handle.
"Well, since you finally graced us with your presence, you better get in. Anna, fill him in."

With a loud 'BAM' Sylvie shut the door, and arranged her self elegantly in the front seat beside Kazimir, who was already behind the wheel. The van putted and purred as the engine warmed. Mistral sniggered at the human, watching the scene with glee.

Oh~ The Blueberry got squashed into a pancake! Hehehe, I'm looking froward to this case more and more. With one last sly look, Mistral scampered into the back, shifting over the seat and pokemon to sit by her master.

With all her Pokémon safely returned to their Pokéballs, Anna lingered outside the van, waiting for Everett to show up. She knew he'd appeared eventually, but she was hoping that he'd pop around the corner sooner rather than later. Eyes trained on the far corner of the building, Annie tugged the scrap of paper with the address of their destination from her pocket. Without doing so much as looking over her shoulder, she handed it in to Kazimir upon Sylvie's command. Just when she was about to hop into the van herself, she spotted Ev scooting towards the vehicle. Well, at least he showed up.

Jumping into the van just as Kazimir kick-started the engine, Anna slammed the heavy door shut with her pitiful strength and plopped down next to Ev. In all honesty, she rather liked him: he may have looked utterly deathly, but he'd never done anything bad to her, so she merely brushed that all off as public assumptions. Pushing her thick-rim glasses further along the bridge of her nose, she gave the medium a heavy glare, but said nothing more. Instead, she did as she was told, and informed Everett of the current events. "Well," she started, lifting her laptop of a precariously-piled stack of equipment beside her. "A woman, Liane Call, came in this morning rambling about her daughter's contact with what we originally thought was some sort of figment of her imagination. Of course, we still aren't sure if the happenings in the Call household are supernatural or merely a play on nerves. Regardless, it's our first case in several days and we needed something to do anyway."

Taking a brief pause, Anna continued. "Mrs. Call spoke of her daughter singing songs not known to her, curious laughter late at night, and furniture moving seemingly of its own accord. We suspect that if this is something supernatural we're dealing with, then it may be a poltergeist of some sort." Thus far, the blonde girl had been solely addressing Everett, but she now spoke up a little louder in an attempt to speak over the sound of the van speeding over tarmac. "I did some more research," she added, "But I still only have vague details as of yet."

With a professional swipe of her hand, her laptop was open and resting on her lap comfortably. She had done some quick internet searches and found that the house was reasonably old - approximately 50 years, but she still had to verify this figure. The original owners were just normal people, nothing special as far as Anna could tell. So far, she had only found old 'house for sale' webpages and the like, so they weren't of much use. "The house is apparently around 50 years old. A bit battered by the looks of it-" she threw open a full-screen image of an isolated house with a bare tree in the front garden. "Anyway, I haven't found anything strange about it just yet, but it's really too early to say anything. I'll keep looking."
