Anastasia
"Actually, in the back alley right here.. it's okay. We're here. You can probably take off your jacket soon. Let me just go in and make sure it's okay, alright?" Anastasia took off the seatbelt, it made a clicking sound as it retracted backward. She slowly and quietly opened the car door, wrapping her own jacket around herself tightly. She walked up the three concrete stairs to the back door, knocking on the rusted metal door. Red paint was peeling off of the door.. She could hear a shuffle, then there was a click and the door was unlocked. She opened it, and slipped inside. She waved to one of Sal's friends, whom she saw drinking brandy on a barstool. He waved back, smiling. "Anastasia, come in!" He said happily. She smiled a little. "In a minute. I'll be back." She walked over to the car, opening the passenger door. She knew it was safe inside.. Sal's friend - using her full name was a code that it was safe. "Come on in... it's safe."

Espy nodded in assent, quickly gathered her pack and what little else she could salvage out of the car that might be useful, and got out of the car. As she walked toward the door she made a mental note of her surroundings, hoping this wasn't some type of trap, but what other choice did she have at this point? Climbing the steps and shuffling past Anastasia who was holding the door, and surveyed the landscape inside. She stuffed her pack behind a speaker on what must be the stage, sat on the edge of it with her back to the same speaker and looked questioningly at Anastasia. She wasn't sure how to proceed from this point, not really being all that comfortable around people in the first place, and she was horrible with new people.
The club was dimly lit with only the few runner lights behind the bar, but even in the dim light she could see the man that was sitting on the bar stool eye her carefully then go back to his brandy almost without concern, though his eyebrow had quirked at her. Or was she imagining that. Maybe she shouldn't worry so much. If only she could take of this jacket.
The rest of the bar was as one would expect of a nightclub, dance floor, pool tables, dart boards, his and hers, adequate seating and adequate alcohol, not that any of it was of any interest to her. She was mostly concerned with her wing, and whether or not she'd ever be able to fly again. That and what to do now, basically being a refugee, or was it fugitive? Both, she guessed, depending on how you looked at it.

{{So I'm sorry that I've been out of the loop lately, but with basically just the two of us at this point...at any rate, Tabs still isn't able to get on the computer so I guess that I will continue to have to do that for her until she can; though both Espy and Tabs may be intermittent, sorry, I'm trying to work something out to alleviate that. I'll keep you posted via PM if you'd like}}

{{That's fine. I've been pretty busy too. As for Tabs I guess we can ignore her character until Classical Tea can comeback on??}}
Anastasia
"Follow me." Anastasia said, ducking into the private-looking hallway. There were two doors, both made of {bulletproof} metal, painted deep maroon. One at the end of the hallway, one smaller to the right. The one on the right had a small sign that read "Janitor's closet" in small print on it. Thedoorknob had a lock which looked like it required a special key. Anastasia pulled out a small, copper-colored key with the word "Lockmaster" on it in itallics from the pocket of her jacket. She put it in the keyhole, twisted it, and unlocked the door. She swung the door open, quickly slipping inside and waited for Espy to follow. Then she closed and locked it, sliding the key back into her pocket. Inside was an ordinary Janitor's closet. A couple industrial brooms lay agains the black iron racks filled with cleaning supplies. It had a chemical smell which distinctly resembled Pine Sol. She switched on the light. It was a big room - for a janitor's closet. Bigger than need be. There was only one LED light which shone above their heads... There was also some First Aid kits on one of the racks, and simple medicine, like Asprin and such. Nothing important. Anastasia studied the 'closet' carefully. All of the racks were bolted into the painted-over brick wall.. but one of them was special. She moved a Windex-bottle from it's place, which revealed a quater-sized seam in the rack which one could've mistaken for dirt or a stain. Small enough to be a thread... passed over by the naked eye. It was a magnatized cover. She used her key to pick up the magnet, and then held it in her hand. With the magnet gone, they could see another keyhole. She used her key and something clicked.. she tugged on the rack and the whole thing swung open, a secret door. Replacing both the magnet and the windex-bottle, she put the key back into her pocket, walking through the secret door. On the other side was huge (and fully ungerground) room. "The couches, loveseat and armchair all pull out into beds.. there's sheets and comforters in that closet-" She pointed to the wooden door. There's a bathroom over there, and another over there... two so it's more private..." Again pointing to two doors on oposite sides of the room. She didn't mention the obvious; the kitchen, which had a fridge and a small table, along with a sink and a single pine cabinet. Also with an oven, stovetop and microwave. "In the pantry there's a little bit of canned or dried food... There's also a few boxes of medicine and basic medical supplies on the other side. Anyway we're safe here. Oh, and the walls are sound and bulletproof, so we don't have to worry about a janitor coming near and hearing us." She shrugged off her jacket, laying it against the back of the fabric loveseat.

"Well this is certainly better than that shop isn't it. To think I considered actually making it my base. Though I did pull some metal out of there that may prove useful. What do you think we should do about my wing? I haven't tried it, but I don't know if I should either." She took off her jacket and spread her wings wide so Stasi could get a better look and eying the bandages herself, was thankful at least the bleeding had stopped.
Espy wondered how much outside experience her associate had. Given her own solitary confinement, she was in need of someone that knew their surroundings and how to deal with people outside. "How did you find this place anyway? I mean you obviously have connections, and friends," she paused at that quizzical at the idea of friends, something she was wholly unfamiliar with, "this is an awful nice setup after all. Especially for an escaped tendit."

((Sorry for taking a while to respond. I've been pretty busy over the weekened.. which is weird. But anyway.. I'm back! BTW let me know when Classical Tea is ready to come back online.))
Anastasia
"Hmmm," Anastasia murmered as she unwrapped the bandages. She walked over to the pantry, pulling out a tube of ointment, and showing it to Espy. "This should help you a bit. It's like a super-hero version of Neosporin... It's really potent and should speed up healing as well as keeping out infection.. It might sting a little bit at first but it'll go away within seconds. Mind if I apply some?" Anastasia opened the cap, and took off the little plastic protective seal glued around the top. She smiled as Espy asked about how she found the club. It was an interesting memory. "Well, It was when I first met Sal.. sort of. I guess I've got to start from the begining. You see when I first escaped I was a wreck. Scared, hurt, and flighty. I was running through the streets like an idiot when I was being chased. I ran into a convience store.. it happened to be owned by a guy named Sal.. Sal saw me and instantly understood the situation. He was a good guy. He was a Hummingbird Wars vet.. I was incredibly lucky to find him. Without finding him I wouldn't have been able to survive my first day outside the facility. He hid me inside a secret back room, and told me to keep quiet. I did and the Goldhawks that came in didn't suspect anything of him. They asked him about me, and I was so scared he'd rat me out... which was silly, I guess.. But I was scared back then. He'd told them I'd ran the other way, and they thanked him and left. I came out of hiding and he let me stay there for a while. He bought me that jacket - actually - and told me how to fold my wings and wrap the jacket tight so that my wings weren't seen so much underneath.. A little while later he got in trouble. I realize now it was my fault but there was nothing I could've done at the time. Somebody saw me. And him. They called. When I returned to the convience store I saw the police handcuffing Sal and stuffing him in the back of their car. I ran. Luckily he'd told me where to go. He'd told me that if something like that ever happened, I could turn to his friend, Rusty. He was the one sitting on the barstool drinking when we came in. He's also the owner of this club, and a veteren of the Hummingbird Wars, too. I went to Rusty, and he took me in, and let me stay here. He prepared this room in the event any Tendits did manage to escape, they would have somewhere to go. Somewhere safe."

Espy sighed. "Honestly you're the first person I've met. Ouch! That stings quite more than 'a little'. Good grief whats in this stuff, hydrochloric acid?" She didn't really expect an answer and continued to allow Stasi to work on her wing. "I'm sorry about your friend. I can understand the feeling of being a wreck...I'm obviously worse for wear. I'm still not even sure how long it took me to get to the shop, much less how long I was out." She looked at her hand. Apparently whatever had bitten her had worn off. "My own escape was a fiasco, I was attacked by my instructor, shot by I don't know who, couldn't fly so I took to the sewers and crawled until I got to where you found me. I was bitten by something, though what that was I don't know, and then when I found the shop I must've passed out. I woke up when the horn went off and gathered what I could. Then you sauntered in all confident and spunky. I can't imagine what I must look like. Say are there showers and laundry facilities here? I could use a good scrubbing. Oh and food, I'm famished."

{{Sure, go ahead!

Would he be good or evil?}}
Anastasia
"Haha, Sorry." Anastasia said as she dabbed the ointment on the wound. "Yeah, there are showers in each bathroom. No laundry though. Maybe you can talk somebody into doing our laundry..." Anastasia looked around, putting the tube down and screwing the cap back on. She stretched, yawning and bringing a hand up to cover her mouth. "I've heard there's other Tendits who've escaped, so maybe tomorow we should go look for some? The escape was pretty huge, and there's gotta be some Tendits who still don't know what to do. What do you think?"

You wanted to know how these two were doing?

Draven Glass • Starling Glass
Draven put on a fresh, gray shirt. The cotton gliding over his pale skin. It covered the little white scars on his back and shoulders. He fit his wings through the slits in the shirt, the dark blue feathers shimmering in the white light. He looked in the mirror, combing back his black hair so it didn't fall in his eyes. He'd let it grow a bit long.. Sighing, he opened the door. A gaurd was waiting there for him. The man must've been fairly new because Draven couldn't tell who the man was. Time to go talk to Starling. He used to enjoy these visits a bit more than he did now. He liked to think it was because Starling had changed or something, but he knew that it wasn't true. It was more like she hadn't changed that was the problem. He contemplated these things as he walked through the halls. There was the smell of fresh paint that resonated around them, and they were a dying shade of beige-toupe. Why dying? Draven wasn't sure, they just seemed that way. He turned to his gaurd. He normally never spoke to those men, but he decided to today. Plus, this was new guy. He didn't seem as bad as the others. He almost seemed.. nice. "Why do they always paint hallways this color?" He asked. The gaurd smiled and shrugged as he kept walking. Draven couldn't help but notice the ease with which the gaurd walked. He didn't keep his fingers on his laser gun like most did. "It's a calming color." Draven frowned. "No. It isn't." The gaurd shrugged. "Well, heh, I guess the color really isn't up to us." Draven was shocked. Did he just say 'us'? They arrived at the door, and the gaurd stopped, opening it for Draven. "Well, enjoy your meeting with your sister." Draven nodded. "Thanks." Draven walked in to see Starling where she normally was, perched on a high seat in a black dress. Her wings were folded around her shoulders like they weren't hers.. like they were nothing more than a garment she could take off if she wished. He knew it hurt her to fold them like that most times - so why did she always do it? They weren't in public. Starling put on a broad smile, showing her pearly white teeth and perfectly done lipstick. She was bare-footed, the reason for which was unapparent. She waved happily, and jumped from the perch, not even using her wings to brace the impact of the short fall. Why not? It must've hurt.. He ignored that, too. "Hi Draven!" She smiled, running up to give him a hug, careful not to touch his wings. "How've you been? Are you okay?" The same repetitive questions she always asked. He smiled placidly. "Fine." Starling let the smile (which Draven honestly couldn't tell if it was real or fake) that had graced her doll-like face slip away. "What's wrong?" She always assumed something was wrong if Draven just said 'fine'. Mainly because Starling knew him better than anyone. She cared about him and she really did want to know... and she knew that there was an insurmountable difference between 'good' and 'fine'. Good was the answer if things were the normal colorless gray that life normally averaged in. Not exciting nor terribly bad. Fine however was a hurt or depressed or possibly angry sort of answer that is a mix of 'you wouldn't care if I told you' 'I'm not going to kill myself this second' and 'I'm too sick of you right now to come up with a decent answer'. Of course, with 'Meh... nothing really matters' thrown in for good measure. Fine could mean either or all of those things at the same time. Draven gave her a surrendering half-smile. She'd pegged him. She really knew him too well, in his opinion. "Nah, I'm okay. Really." He looked her in the eye when he said it. "It's just a little weird, you know? Life is so... boring. Everything is always the same. It sucks. I hate it." Starling gave him a look which was a mix of pity and apology. She smirked like she knew something he didn't, and was considering whether or not to tell him. He looked at her. "What is it?" Starling smiled. "Well, that's going to change. Jace assigned us hunting down that Tendit you let go. Tabitha was her name."
