The urge to snicker at birdgirl’s suddenly wide eyes would have been far more difficult to suppress had she not been so tired and sore. That and information on where they were heading, since that was rather important. Her gaze followed the direction of the finger, catching sight of the described area and nodding once to confirm. “Well, I’m not going to tell you about every little thing you might stub your scaly toes on, so I guess we’d better get moving.” The feline hybrid started walking in that direction, but had to pause again at the sound of a comment; this was getting tiresome, she might as well just walk on her own at this point.
“Better than yours, birdy,” she mocked, shuffling her feet to kick a rock out in front of her. Was that an insult, or a pet name? Maybe hinting at a future favour? None of these were very appealing. “I’m not a seeing-eye dog. Don’t expect me to guide you there once the sun sets.”
What put her in such a bad mood, specifically, was a mystery, so it was decidedly everything from the past fourty-eight hours. Being kidnapped from your own land was probably not something you could recover from quickly, nor being dumped in the middle of a desert with aggressive and dangerous animal hybrids. ‘Kitty’ stung, a little bit; nicknames from home weren’t something she’d wanted to hear at the moment.
“...And I have a name. I don’t think anyone’s parents would be that rude.” She hesitated, considering shutting up there and dropping all subjects, but what harm could a name do?

The male sighed slightly. He ran a hand through his hair and sat down near the now crackling flames of the fire. "I've never met a hybrid that was born the way they are from my knowledge...." Itona's voice was quiet, soft even. "My name is Itona Horibe, by the way," He added abruptly, yellow eyes glowing.

After the introduction, he continued. "When I say 'they', I mean the ones that made me like this. The scientists and domestics. I was a pin cushion, so to speak. I was made to be like this. When I was little, I was but a human... not this... thing..." He hissed the last word in annoyance.

"and these 'domestics'... are they the ones that were that strange indestructible clothing, and carry firearms that shoot the needles that make you sleepy?" he had so many questions, overwhelmed by the situation at hand, mind still reeling.

"What you gonna do now Nakai," I snarled teasingly before turning sharply to the sound of sprinting feet. My sharp eyes caught sight of the scinetist and the pointed, loaded and aimed gun." Don't you dare," I roared at him, the bullets now zooming towards me. Highly narcotic chemicals filled each bullet, the amounts if different components carefully measured and dosed. One of them flew into my shoulder, another tried to pierce the band of scales across my neck. The scales turned in a millisecond to transform into a shield. I leaped in a rabbit way to dodge the last and third bucket that now was lodged into the floor firmly." Demons you are, devils. How would your family feel about you, torturing others for what ? War. The world wants peace, it wants war to be silenced and now, you awaken it," I changed dizzily to by saboteurs. The one mission in my head was clear, I needed to get this thing off of my ankle."Stop it, no don't!" I yelled desperately at them both, my pleads echoing sadly through the whole building. Into the medical ward, the gym, offices of many busy scientists, who looked about casually.

I stumbled onto my knees, thin tears running down my face." Nakai please," I said quietly, feeling the sweet darkness over take me. I let my eyelids close, my body flinging itself against the floor, breathing heavily and rapidly at all the excitement but fatigue it had experienced. I let myself go, transcend into the into the dimensions of my mind, filled with desires and hopes. On the outside world my body twitched slightly, tears still falling solemnly down my face. Dancing with each other as the sound down my sift skin, creating an intricate pattern. Happiness and vibrant plentiful leaves filled my mind, covering my fear, pain and strange shuddering even though it wasn't cold. Hope came in the form of the blossoming flowers in my dream.[i]Please Nakai, tell him everything. Tell him my struggles, tell him that was strong and feirce. Tell him I was a true warrior.[/i]. Chelsea was about to nod and agree with Ryker's decision to go and help Nakai with the hybrid but just as she was about to start moving towards them they headed into the lab. "Well that's one plan scuppered. By the size of that domie I am assuming that it was Alexis. That leaves two more group ones by my count. A male called Alexander and a female called Mira." A light sigh escaped her mouth, if they both hadn't been so late then they wouldn't have had any of this trouble. "What do you think? Go and find one of those two? Or try and intimidate some of the other domies?" The second suggestion was more of a joke and yet it would be a lot easier than hunting down two specific domies.

Itona nodded slightly. "The needles are called darts. They're tranquiliser darts that make us fall asleep so it's easier. And yes, that is what domestics are. They're lap dogs for the scientists, doing all the dirty work. They'll come for me eventually, I'm in group seven, though. So it may take awhile."

Itona paused, looking at the cub. "I'm not going to hurt you, of I were I would have done so when I found you," He sighed slightly. "You can sit down, ya' know." Itona layed back on the ground, hands behind his head. "And why would I even consider myself human? I'm a monster. If I ever managed to return home... I'd be a freak..."

"...group seven..." he whispered softly, before blinking, sitting back and relaxing more freely now. the older male was right; it was unlikely that he would make a move if he hadn't already. still, there was always a chance. even starved crocodiles would wait hours in the mud so that their prey would be relaxed just enough to snap. "...i don't think of you as a monster. if i did," he looked down at his furred fingers, blinking. "then wouldn't i have to think that i was one, too? i mean, i get along better with my spotted brothers and sisters than i do with the children on my tribe, but. i don't think they view me as a freak. to them, i'm family. that village, those people. they raised me, even though i was different from them."

the cub pressed his clawed fingertips to his chest, just over his heart, eyes closing as his tail twitched slowly, languidly in long sweeps across the ground. "when we're sad, we all cry. when we are wounded, we all bleed. when good things happen, we all rejoice. that's just how things are. that's how all of us have always thought of it." masozi shook his head, before looking up, brows furrowed. "does you tribe not feel the same way?"

Ryker heard her joking tone on the last option, and to be honest, he'd rather do that one. Though, he'd rather not have more lab days. "I think it would be a good idea to go for either of the two we need, but that doesn't mean we can't intimidate some others in the process." He smiled a bit cruelly, it had become his past time to do that anyway. It meant when he eventually had to fetch them, they might go down easier.

It was only a little bit when she heard some screeching and roaring in the distance. It wasn't hard for her ears to pick up the sound, but rather pinpoint it. Mira immediately swiveled to look behind her back at the building she has been walking away from, and could faintly see some ant-like figures over there. Doubting the situation over there, she decided to hide out in one of the thicker bushes around her. Her wings limp at her back due to being held up in the blazing sun so long. The dragon-girl brought her knee's to her chest and wrapped her tail around her feet. Resting her chin on her knees, closing her eyes to just listen to the surroundings.

Ash stood up as Alex did, gently nodding at his idea. He couldn't help but wonder though, would they even manage to get close to the mountains before night fell? He hesitated, trying to conclude if it would be better to continue on their trek to the hills or just find a safe enough place to bed down for the night. Who knew what roamed the desert at night? But then again, it would be much easier to travel at night than during the hot day. With this in mind, Ash made up his mind that yes, it probably would be best to travel at night, regardless of any risks.

"Yeah, that seems like the best thing to do... We'll be able to avoid the sun, at least," he said to Alex as he took the first step towards the mountains, then paused to make sure Alex was following. The shark hybrid had been suffering from both heat exhaustion and dehydration earlier that day; hopefully now that the sun was setting, he'd fare a bit better.

Emily couldn't help but to snicker as the cat girl mocked her in response to the nickname. She knew it wasn't really appropriate at the time, but she did have a knack for annoying others. She quieted down once cat girl said she wouldn't be helping Emily, however, a little frown returning. "I won't be the only one slowed down if I step on a rattlesnake, y'know. Unless, of course, you want to risk venturing off into the wild night without an experienced hybrid to tell you what's what?" She quirked up an eyebrow as she said this, giving the other a questioning look.

She dropped the act and thought a moment when cat girl gave her name: Zyr. After a second of what appeared to be deep thought, yet another smirk began growing as though she'd just came up with something brilliant. Emily took a few steps towards Zyr so as to stay by her side and, after a pause, continued walking in the direction she'd pointed to. Glancing back at Zyr, she remarked in an almost sneer manner, "Zyr, huh? Sounds like 'purr.' Was that done on purpose, or is it just a cute coincidence?" She didn't even bother to tell her own name, not yet at least; right now she was too busy basking in her genius.

Eva's long white ears quickly drooped as Bae told her the terrible- and terrifying- news. There was a domie rampaging in the Lab right now, as they spoke? What if she made her way to the medical ward? What if she destroyed valuable records or equipment? What if, what if, what if? Eva's dark brown eyes widened and seemed to glaze over as a million different scenarios, each worse than the last, rushed through her head. Her panic only grew as Bae said that no scientists were responding to Nakai- what if they'd all been killed? What would they do then?

She was snapped out of the panic as Bae began trying to get up, however. Standing up herself, she moved in front of him and put her hands out in front of herself, shaking her head slightly. "No, no, it's bad enough that you're hurt... You can't, um, you really shouldn't try to help," she said as gently as possible, trying to swallow her own panic. "You, um, would only end up getting more hurt, and that won't help anything."

Nakai Taya

Nakai glanced at Tadaomi thankfully as he showed up in the nick of time, shooting at the domestic with a tranquilizer gun. He must've gotten Bae's message, then. Despite his grateful look, however, Nakai did feel a bit frustrated that he hadn't come to his aide earlier; what had he been doing that disallowed him from getting the message until now? It was really of no importance, he tried to tell himself; he was here now, and that's what mattered. "Tadaomi just showed up. Thanks, Bae."

Now that that was settled, he turned back to Alexis, only to see that she'd managed to dodge all three bullets. How, Nakai had no idea, and he was even more confused as she fell down and began whimpering to him. Had one of them shot her, after all? Whatever had happened, she seemed to be falling unconscious. That was good, at least. Again reaching up to his earpiece, "The rampaging domie has been subdued. I repeat: the domie has been subdued. No need for more reinforcements." He broadcasted this to everyone who had received Bae's message as well as Bae himself, ensuring that no one else came to the scene only to find that it was already contained. Looking back to Tadaomi, he muttered, "She's all yours." With that, he went to grab the button and tossed it over to the scientist, then turned as though to leave.

It was getting cooler out, and Alex could definitely tell. He began to walk, steeping up to where Ash was as he paused and looked back at him. Alex nodded in response when Ash said they would be avoiding the sun, that was a plus and helped out everyone. They could probably try their best to get as far as they can, traveling in the dark and when it's cooler out is much better. Even if it got dark they always had the moon light, and if not Alex can see pretty well in the dark and could manage.

"let's t-try to get as far as p-possible" Alex suggested, looking over at Ash for a response. Alex would prefer to walk till his legs gave out, the closer they were to the mountains would give them more time tomorrow to find shade and a place to camp

Bae was about to politely refuse and push Eva aside but stopped when he hear Nakai, Tadaomi had arrived and Alexis was taken care of. He let out a light sigh and focused back on Eva "Alexis is taken care of, just let me go out" he asked her and stuck out his bottom lip to pout. "Please? I wont be in any danger, and a little movement might help me feel better" he suggested, resting his hands on the edge of the cot, ready to hop off. He kept his back straight, preventing any slouching to hurt the stitches

"You can even come with me !" he suggested with a smile. He moved his hands to run them through his white hair in a irritated manner "I'm gonna go insane in here !" he said angrily, gripping his hair as he rested his hands on his head.
