Caroline gratefully took his hands, and he pulled her up. She smiled, and started giggling. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just a small scrape on my wrist." She pulled the hoodie up to the crease in her elbow, showing a scratch on her wrist. It was bleeding a bit, but not enough to be worrying. "It just needs a band-aid, is all. Thanks for worrying, though." Caroline gently smiled, and put her arm back down. She looked back ahead of her, waiting for Hawke's orders. She didn't want to go anywhere without him, because he was letting her stay in his house.

{{Hehe, I have no idea. Why not? I'm just kind of following your lead I guess.. IDK. They've actually only been *together* for about a day. Maybe the in-rp 'tomorrow'? I have no clue! Up to you!}}

Hawke smiled, "O' course. Now, we should probably head home. Get you a band-aid and then start to pack." They started to walk down the street a little ways when Hawke realized he hadn't let go of her hand. He let her hand slide out of his as nonchalantly as possible, hoping she didn't notice the slightest rosy tint of his cheeks. A silence ensued which he was quick to interrupt. "Hehe, don't worry though. You've seen how much I have, it can be pretty much carried over in one huge load." The walk back to his place was quick. He opened the door for Caroline and allowed her to walk through first.

~Caroline~

Caroline walked slowly back to the house with him, not realizing that they were still holding hands until Hawke slipped his hand out of hers. She turned to look at Hawke, an awkward smile on her face. His cheeks were the least bit flushed, and seeing that, Caroline blushed. "Hehehe... I guess." After what seemed like forever, they reached the house, and Caroline waited for Hawke to tell her what to grab to take with them. The first thing she did to help, though, was taking the beds they made for themselves, and wrapped them up. She figured he had a box to put them in, but if not, Caroline could hold them. She turned to Hawke.
"Where can I put these? If you don't have a box or anything I can just carry them." Caroline picked them up and slung them over her shoulder with one hand. She bent down and grabbed the towels that they used as pillows in the other.

Hawke looked over at her, assessing the situation. He realized how rare she was. Not just because she was genetically modified, but because of her resilient optimism. He chuckled, a grin on his face. "You know I think you're the only girl I've ever met, read about, saw, or even heard of that could be so happy about helping a guy secretly move from a small stolen house to a small apartment, carrying half of his stuff." He paused, handing her a stiff but light suitcase to stuff the bedding in. "That's pretty awesome, you know." He ended. Hawke turned, quickly smoothing back his dark-honey hair which he was certain had fallen out of place, then picked up a suitcase full of clothes and the entirety of his miscellaneous belongings. He looked around at the abandoned house. It wasn't much but he had done his level best to make it home. "Ah, even with as much time as I've spent here I don't think I could bring myself to say I'll miss it. To be honest I'm thrilled to leave. It's still weird though, don't you think? Running away from this place?"
Hawke's last bit of sentimentality was entirely gone. He was focused now on the apartment they were headed towards. "Lets go." He said, leading the way out. When he closed the front dor behind Caroline it made a loud noise, aa if to finalize what was taking place. Hawke felt almost like racing to the apartment, as if the entire situation was some cruel apparition that would vanish once he got to his destination. Rationally, he knew this would not happen, but there was still a sense of nervousness about him.

Caroline smiled at him as he started talking. She suddenly felt her face get hot, and turned away when he was done talking, realizing that she was blushing. She grabbed the suitcase and put the makeshift beds into it. "Thanks." Caroline was thanking Hawke for both the compliment and the suitcase. She stood up, and brought up the handle to roll the suitcase with. "This is much easier," she said mainly to herself, but she wouldn't be surprised if Hawke responded. She quietly followed him out of the house, processing what he had said. Caroline had never had a real house, but she was very thrilled to actually leave the place she was in. It was terrible, and Hawke must have been glad that he never had to live it out.

Caroline silently trailed behind Hawke, wanting to talk, but not knowing what to talk about. She tried to think of conversation starters, so she said the first thing that can to her mind. "How far is it from here?" She knew it was a stupid question, because she figured it wasn't far at all, since they were walking. She immediatly regretted asking the question, since she knew he was probably going to tease her for it. She snickered at herself, wanting to tease herself for it, as well.

(((UUggggh sorry for taking so long! I feel awful for leaving you hanging like this! Anyway I'm kinda back now. Kind of? Anyway no school for me today because sickness.. but anyway sorry..)))

Hawke looked down at Caroline, and then looked up. "Ah, see that sign right there? That's it! Aren't they nice!?" He tried to hide an excited, almost giddy tone to his voice but it kind of came out anyway. He surprised himself when he'd heard it. It was something he didn't normally do - sound giddy. This was just the first place he'd ever lived that'd really been a 'home'. He coughed as if it was just a weird sneeze-sound or something and pretended it didn't happen. The apartments weren't exactly first-class deluxe, but to him they were pretty nice. They walked under a little archway which was wrapped around with fake vines (real vines would've died with the lack of water and terrible pollution). He marched into the front office with Caroline in tow. The pounds of suitcases an dishes he carried didn't seem to weigh more than a pound as he scrawled his name on a suspiciously small amount of papers, and then was handed the key. Hawke walked up to the front door of apartment 607; their apartment. He put the key into the lock but before twisting it open he looked back at her, smiling, expectant, excited.

Caroline followed him around everywhere, and her eyes glimmered when she saw the sign for the apartments. She smiled, excited to explore the new house, though it was small, and not even her own. She figured that she would be staying with Hawke a lot longer than expected. She waited for him to unlock the door. When Hawke smiled back at Caroline, she smiled back, a gleam of happiness in her eyes. She walked inside the house, trying to slip past Hawke without contact. She set the stuff that she carried to the house in a corner, and looked around. "Not huge, but spacey enough. You are just one guy, after all."

Hawke put down all the stuff he was carrying with an overdramatic flourish, as if his arms would have fallen off had he held onto it any longer. "That I am. I'm pretty pleased nonetheless." He moved to open the plastic white blinds, a thin layer of dust had collected on them. The room was flooded in sunlight. He looked around, happy. His first real residency. He realized he must seem odd to Caroline - wouldn't normal people have friends or a housewarming party or something? He also realized she probably wouldn't care too much. It's not like she was accustomed to normal tradition anyway. He looked over at her, her doe-like frame didn't even look out of place under the small ceiling. An ill-fitting place for two birds, he thought, and then frowned a little. It was still a safe haven compared to his old home. "Caroline, how about you help me unpack? There's not much but it'll make the place feel more like home."
