"A coke, please."
She stomped slush off of her sneakers onto the doormat and sat down to untie the laces, taking the chance to eye up her surroundings. Despite the fact that, anywhere else, spring had already began, as always Jasper was still freezing, and she was grateful for the warmth of the Castellanos residence.
Her gaze was immediately drawn to a framed photo on the wall by the door. A small girl with bright copper hair, not all that much smaller than she was today, and a woman she vaguely remembered from the pack meetings of her early teens. She had the same eyes as her daughter. Kind eyes.
"And its not that! I know he deserved it. I wish I was strong enough to really teach him a lesson, I swear to god."
She sighed, unfolded the sheet of contact information she'd borrowed off of a shelf in the infirmary and scanned it. For the beta's twin sister, there was only an email listed. She opened up her gmail account on her phone, but - as she'd stated, she had no idea of what to write. Especially if she was addressing the Alphaess of Europe's most powerful pack, who was probably totally unaware of her existence.
With a groan, she closed it and moved on the next task.
Olivia Roley, unfortunately, wasn't answering her phone. Neither was her mother.
She groaned again and shoved the smartphone back into her pocket. Those problems would have to wait.
"It's that he'll come out of this stronger. I've made things worse. Now he'll become stronger and faster and even if he doesn't develop bloodlust or something. And you can guarantee that Danny or Jason will talk the rest of the crew out of killing him off, so we can't even do anything about it until Skylar's back, by which time he'll have either escaped and killed the few of us that remain or run off somewhere else and caused a war with a pack who are smart enough to trace him back to us!"
Her grasp on inter-pack politics wasn't great. But she knew enough to say with certainty that a pack knowingly creating a rogue and letting it wander the states wouldn't fare well for them.
"Anyway... What's the problem, if you don't mind me asking? You look pretty ticked yourself."

Emery nodded as he grabbed two bottles of coke from the fridge, one for her and one for him. He came back into the living room area and placed her bottle on the table, popping the lid off by hand. He sanl onto his leather chair and set about taking the lid off his own.

"I'm sure Skylar will sort this all out." He said off-handedly as he thought about his own things again. He looked over st her and spotted her looking at the photo on the wall by the door. He looked down.

"I don't like hunters. I...uh...when I found Jess she...uh..." He but his lip as tears started to well. "That hunter's smell it reminded me of it." He finally managed to get out bit not without having to hunch over and cover his face with his hands.

Even if she'd died a few years ago now, the memory was still fresh and painful. They'd grown up together, always been best friends and then they for married. Emery had taken Emmelene out to visit the pack and Jess had been out collecting groceries. When Emery got back and found she wasn't there, He left Emmelene to go find her. He found Jess, cold and bloodied, she reeked of man, she scream Not-pack and he knew he should have told someone but he couldn't. Je lay over her cold, lifeless body for hpurs, crying himself senseless until Emmelene, his own daughter, came and found him. She shouldn't have had to do it bit she comforted him and he could never make it up to her.

"Oh."
She remembered the death of his wife, alright, more so than she did the wife as a person. Emmelene, though her personality had never truly, permanently, been outwardly affected by it, had developed a clear ambition in life that, to this day, still drove the entire fighting force up the wall.
"That's why she's so keen on getting trained as a fighter, isn't it?"
They both knew that Emmelene would never be much good; even as a wolf, she was too small and scrawny to deal ant real damage in a fight, let alone take a hefty blow. One good hit would kill her, werewolf or not. In many ways, she clearly didn't take much after her father. She decided not to bring that up. Just as well, because she could make out the tears in his voice as he continued to speak. She didn't have a tissue on hand to offer him, but she patted his shoulder awkwardly in a gesture of sympathy.
"So, this hunter. You think he's the same guy? Isn't he a little... Young?" She asked, lowering her voice, as if she were back at the memorial of the previous day. The idea sent chills down her spine. To kill so many pack wolves and get away with it, was a terrifying feat that she'd never have imagined to be possible.
Just what kind of hunter were they dealing with here?

She took a sip of the coke as she tried to work out what comforting thing she could say.

a smile graces her lips as the man introduces himself and she shakes his hand lightly yet firmly, keeping her strength in check as to not hurt him on accident. "it's nice to meet you too," she says while glancing down to mika, missing the bit of homesickness that pains the man. eva looks back to theo with a quizzical expression as he mentions everyone being jumpy and cocks her head to the side a little. "jumpy? i haven't really noticed honestly," she tells him with a bit of a frown, her gaze drifting to the other people who were walking nearby. they did seem a little tense, but nothing screamed 'danger' to her. the female flashes a bit of a smile as she shrugs a shoulder, a little embarrassed and apologetic. "i'm quite new to the area actually, only been here about two months." as theo apologizes once again for almost bumping into her, eva's cheeks start to burn with embarrassment for getting into such an awkward situation. "we're fine, really, it was just a little spook is all," she assures him once again, her attention drifting to mika as his bottle starts getting low, but she turns back to theo a moment later, unsure what to really say. "if i may ask, why do you think everyone's jumpy? is there something going on in town? i haven't had much free time to read the paper or watch the local news." hopefully, he'll be able to give her some kind of heads up if there was something going on in the town. she's heard rumors of 'wild dogs' or something in the forest, but it was something she hears all the time when a pack is in the area and has tuned out the chatter about it.

Emery felt a hand on his broad shoulder and he paused. He rubbed his eues with the backs of his hands. "I'm sorry about that." He sniffled and sighed.

"Matbe, maybe not. He sure looks young but I'm sure I've seen his bloodline in the books dating back to being on this land longer than this pack's been here." He said, looking over at her.

He stood up and made his way towards the bookshelf and pulled of a book of census records. He brought it over and opened to the first page of records. Running his finger down the names.

"1078 AD, Patrick Hawking." He flicked a few pages further.

"1384 AD, Thomas Hawking." Again, more pages.

"1796, Jerico Hawking." More pages were turned.

"1882, Patrick Hawking." He said and closed it to the last cover where he picked out a sheet.

"This sheet is a list of birth records from the 1990s." He said as he picked out a newish looking piece of paper. He slapped it on the table and pointed to the name.

It read: 'Date: 17th Spetember 1990. Hawking, Aspat.'

Emery looked at her. "I've checked every record of tjat surname and do you know what it turns up?" Je didn't wait for am answer, "Hunter and falconer of the king; one oldest bloodlines; kingsmen; werewolf hunters." He said, looking her in the eyes. "He may have been about 18 amd I thinl that's old enough to take us down. He's a natural born hunter. And we have him locked away. The things I could do to that hunter..."

Only humming in response to the leaders words i continued to drive down the towns man-holed roads with ease, a difficult task to keep the truck under the speed limit used to being able to go however fast we pleased but knowing this was a small town i was well aware it wouldn't be a good idea. Glancing at D'arc as i heard his words from the rear, passenger seat i smiled softly and nodded "Whatever you say sir" I chimed before looking directly back at the road, hand tapping on the wheel in beat with the current song playing - it was a slow one, a song that currently fit both the beat down, tired feeling in the car and slow freezing one of the weather i couldn't currently put a name to the song but knew it would eventually come to me at some random point in the day, likely when we were on a lead or i was trying to sleep the mind worked in funny ways like that. Letting out a sigh i gave a quick glance to him again as he spoke once more a chuckle escaping this time though at his words, raising a brow i licked my lip as if thinking about my response "I can use you as a model to show off the clothes we bought before we kill his sorry but right?" I called back to him in a teasing tone, though i was well aware he probably knew a piece of me was being dead serious i wasn't going to let ford do it, with our luck the kid would somehow spill something on them, then we'd have to kill him twice. Finally pulling into the drive way as the gravel crunched under tire i pulled the truck into park and fixed my head with a tired exhale while grabbing my bag and hopping out of the car, awaiting D'arcs company before walking towards the cabin, only wincing as i smacked my injured rib cage on the edge of the door, inhaling sharply i glared at the inanimate object with a glare that would surely send it into flames as i grumbled "Dumb dog" I muttered before waiting the pain to somewhat die back down and continuing our trek to the door not even noticing ford's car wasn't there until i heard the lack of foot steps within the cabin, signaling he was with sleeping, dead, or not there and gave a scoff before looking at D'arc "I need a model before you kill him" I reminded as i held up a finger as i walked inside.

Blair and Emmery leaving were a faint acknowledgement in the back of my mind as i watched jason seriously think over my somewhat order he was battling with himself, that was clear as day itself but i knew the part over riding everything was the part that knew i was right, we needed her to confirm anything before we could even deal with the situation in the basement. The time it took for him to finally accept the unavoidable plan felt like hours, painfully ticking by though as i saw him get up and go through the cupboards surely in search of what was needed to reverse his doings i stood up grabbing the back of the chair to not only brace myself from the sudden movement but also to move it out of the way. Still keeping a eye on the medic as he asked for one of the others to go search for the match we needed for the blood transfusion i moved so i stood behind the bed, looking over the situation she was in to best figure out how exactly to hold her without letting hurt either herself, or someone else and quickly decided doing so from the ground wouldn't do anything. Clenching my jaw as i tried to figure out any more subtle respectful way to go about this i cursed below my breath quickly removing my hand from my mouth where i placed it to try and consatrate as i groaned lightly. Moving as swiftly as i could with my own still healing wounds i set one leg on the bed near the side i had been sitting and swung the other over so i now had a leg on either side of her and gently yet firmly pinned her arms beside her, more or less hovering above her as i ensured she was secured safely. Panting lightly from the effort it took to get into position in such conditions i caught my breath and looked over the still unresponsive girl taking in the peacefulness that was about to become a battle zone. Glancing to jason as he walked back over i glanced at the vial he had in hand not really recognizing the crystals held within as typically they weren't used - that i knew of but really not caring as he soon removed the mask upon her face and replaced it with the vial of rock like substances instantly waking up the girl as she coughed and gave a understandably pained cry, despite it being expected i couldn't help but temporarily close my eyes and look away it hurt not nearly as much as it hurt her, but it still hurt seeing her in such pain espechially knowing i could have stopped it before it even happen. Taking in a breath i reopened my eyes and looked back down at her as i slowly nodded "I know Sky i know" I breathed nearly inaudibly "what in you're right mind were you thinking?" I finally said with a sigh as my gaze held its normal dark firmness though had a certain softness as i addressed her from my position above her, one nobody but me would have dared to take.

The excessive aroma of freshly shed blood plagued the air. My scent interlacing with it, strengthening the smell. I refused to return, instead trekking off on my own, hunting down more of the government's lapdogs. I shift into my human form abruptly, firearm comfortably latched to my hip. It posed some issues, as my eyesight and sense of smell were far more enhanced as a canine. The sudden mixture of odors would be hard to miss, though, as I briskly picked up that there was surely someone or something else here. Following it, I poised my gun. Locking it in place and running my finger down the smooth slope of the trigger. Adrenaline pumping through my veins, fueling every eager muscle in my body further. Patches of light broke through the trees. Another vehicle, another hunter. A satisfied grin knit itself onto my lips, replacing the well-known scowl. I closed in on him, shooting purposefully at his leg. A yowl of pain escaped from him, causing a flock of birds to flee. I sprinted towards his unmoving body. Glaring down at him with menacing eyes. His were wide, startled. My foot extended, slamming down on his neck. He claws at my boot, pleading for mercy, some sense of compassion. But I show him none. "You don't play with fire," I hiss, raising my gun and shooting him square in the head. Watching as the small piece of metal pierces his skin, hands flopping to his sides and eyes shutting. Sealing his fate. I remove my foot from his neck, content with my work. Standing back and searching him for information.

(I know this isn't very long for not posting for a month. I had to write it fast.)

    DANNYWEREWOLF MEDICTAGGED; //

xxxxDanny smiled at Blair, proud of his own neat handiwork. The satisfaction that came with helping people was almost, just almost, unbearable. Nonetheless, Danny loved his job and what he did and didn't think he'd be retiring from this branch anytime soon. He gave a slight nod to Blair's question, slowly packing everything back into his arms. "It's advised you just take it easy Blair, shifting it to an extent is alright but try not to push anything or you're going to hurt yourself." The medic left Blair to her own devices after he started to clean up.
xxxxA couple moments later and he was looking over at Skylar and the rest of the pack; eyeing them wearily and watching Adam with some caution as he observed the other werewolf's tone. His eyes darkened slightly in suspicion; him not particularly enjoying the pace that this route had. A soft huff escaped his lips, too low for anyone to truly notice unless they were staring at his body like a hawk. Which, in itself, was unusual and quite uncalled for in this situation. Alas, the man took a couple of paces forward, eyes glancing around as he thought about the cries he had heard earlier. Truth be told, he could hear the shouting from down below, but Blair had been in his interests at the time. Rubbing his chin against his shoulder, he awkwardly cleared his throat. "Sorry to intrude, but could I have permission to go downstairs, possibly?" he asked calmly, eyes trained on the pair of higher rankers in front of him, eyes blankly switching from Adam to Skylar.

Mark Holloway ~ Male ~ Thirty-Three ~ Werewolf ~ Loner/Former-Beta
Location: Skylar's Attic -> Infirmary ~ Tags: Emmelene -> Infirmary Crew?

It was surprising to hear Skylar's attic had become such a dumping ground. Though he supposed the fact that they'd opted to shove his stuff away rather than burn it was a good sign. Mark continued looking over the boxes with one hand slipped through the crease in the cover until the teen behind him made a noise that caught his attention. Curiously he walked over, watching as she pushed things aside to get at a box with his name on it. "Well what do you know." He said simply with a smile, almost speechless. Ushering her aside he grabbed hold of the boxes edge and pulled it further into the open before crouching down to peer inside. Mark recognized numerous belongings he'd left behind but ignored them for the time being, sifting things around until his old clothing came into view in the box. Pulling out some chosen clothing he stood, "Let's hope they still fit." He said in a small humored manner.

Mark shoved the box back to the side though he took note of it's location in the event he decided to come back for it. "I'm going to go change." He told her, unsure if she'd be coming back down or if Emmelene's curiosity would get the best of her. Mark made his way back downstairs and stepped into the bathroom, deciding he needed to completely dry himself off before putting any clothes on. A few minutes later he emerged in a tight-fitting black long-sleeve shirt and cargo pants whilst carrying the heated blanket. The man still felt the effects of the cold but he wasn't going to stay under the thing forever. Whilst he'd been changing Mark had heard a commotion from the Infirmary, and opted to investigate. Despite everything he couldn't just sit around and ignore what was currently happening.

She took another sip of cola.
In a society where pedigree meant everything, Blair had seen plenty of birth records, genealogy charts and family trees. The alphaess had had a chart on one wall of her office, detailing the mighty Aleksandrsen line. The alpha had had another, tucked away in a desk drawer somewhere. Even her mother, who - as the wife of a human - cared less about heritage than anybody she knew, had a family tree buried in a box somewhere. And as a half-blood, she'd been confined to the omega rank for her earliest years, only escaping the degrading title when Gregory Steel and Mark Holloway split off from the Old Pack and abolished the rank completely. It'd never mattered that she was hardly affected by silver, or that she was practically immune to bloodlust. She was never going to be as strong or as brave or as quick or as fast-healing as the more genetically privileged of the werewolf world. She was grateful beyond words that the wolves of Crimson Sky couldn't seem to care less.
But Blair knew first-hand how much your bloodline could dictate who you were. Your personality, your traits, your strengths and weaknesses. Nature and nurture. And a hunter from a line that long, that dedicated and hell-bent on genocide, could only mean trouble.
A third sip of her drink, the glass clinking as she set the bottle back down on the table and crossed her arms over her chest.
"Well, you've got more right to his jugular artery than anybody left here. Bide your time until they let him go, or he escapes, and them we'll take a hunting party and hunt that mongrel down. I can think of at least one person who'll be game."

If he'd still had that hospital cafeteria coffee, he'd probably had choked on it. He just affected a bewildered expression and widened his eyes.
"All due respect, miss, but you been living under a rock?"
Lowering his voice to a whisper and leaning closer, he hissed, "eleven people have been torn to shreds in the past two weeks, and you haven't heard?" A psychological trick he'd quickly picked up during training. The best way to make somebody listen was to tell them something they thought they shouldn't know. And his words might very well save her life.
If it had been a larger city, and the police force more competent, he'd have thought less of her lack of knowledge. But despite the JPD's futile attempts to hide the recent happenings, it was all the town had talked about since the first two had occurred. If this lady knew what was good for her, and her little boy, then she'd leave. Go back to wherever she'd moved from. Or, at least, to a safer town. It wasn't his place to say that, though - not when he considered how crazy that'd make him look - so he sighed weakly and took a step back.
"But, you know, I'm sure the police department have their best men on the job." He wasn't sure he could apply the term "best men" when the most any of the feds had had to deal with since leaving the academy was the occasional shoplifter, but stating that fact wouldn't help. The Government had their best men on the job, he decided smugly, and that was more than enough.
"There's an official warning to stay out of the woods and everything. Hunting ban. The full nine yards. They even tried to get the folks living out there into temporary accommodation here until they've purged the woods. Rabid wolves, they think. I mean, they're making the effort, you know?"
He shook his head with a defeated sigh.
"And my friends and I did so hope to go hunting this year. We've been waiting it out since we got here, but we might end up going home empty handed after all. Not cool."

He just growled in response. Not only was Theo's car missing, but the last vehicle was missing, too. That sent aladm bells ringing.
"Jin?"
No answer reached him over the airwaves. He took a deep breath and just headed inside. Maybe the stupid man had forgotten to take his earpiece with him. Maybe it was out of battery. He fumbled for more valid reasons for the radio silence as he crossed the threshold into the cabin, but his mind was full of concerns now. Too many to act on all at once.

Theo failing to follow orders was generally unheard of, despite his reckless streak. If that man couldn't do what he was told, then he'd never have made it into a position to be selected. He'd chosen that man himself. Against the CO's better judgement, of course, but because he had taken a liking to him and his cunning facade. It'd almost fooled him. And an actor that good was just a waste when left among the marines.
Though, strictly speaking, he hadn't been ordered to return to the Center of Operations. Maybe - just maybe - he'd found another good lead. He knew that, at first, a lot of his men hadn't quite trusted him. Fair enough. D'Arc knew he was an intimidating guy. But he trusted each and every one of them, and he was willing to trust Goof Street's judgement. Besides calling him back, which would altogether be bad for morale, he didn't have much choice.
"We'll check he's okay and then leave him be. He's got a nose for information like a bloodhound." Or a werewolf.
"But he'd better not give me a reason to regret it."
Hoping Kat wouldn't question the sudden change of heart, he went straight for the laptop and opened it up, booting up the heavily encrypted satellite connection and tapping a out a coded message. Translated, it read;
Targets aware and highly competent. We have positive info and hope to ID two of their number but need reinforcements.
Four killed. One and Three wounded (minor). Extent of injury to Five is currently unknown but likely to be minor also. Two has yet to update his status.

He glanced at the chocolate milk carton still sitting on the table beside him. Where the hell was his second in command?
He was in no state to go and search for him now. But the vehicles did all have trackers. He pulled up another window and searched the topographical map presented to him. One blip sat on the property line of a big old house several miles from town, where they'd left it.
Another sat in a parking lot in Jasper city center. Hd breathed a small sigh of relief. Theo was most likely okay.
The third - his land cruiser - was sat on the grass outside the cabin. The fourth was less than a mile from the rendezvous point he'd sent Ford to. Deep in the woods.
Crap.
"Jin! You there? Pick up, dammit!"

(Nope. Spoke too soon. The internet connection's dodgy  . Here's one half. I'm writing up the responses for Sky and Jason once I work out what the hell to write. X3)
