Cache let out a surprised yelp when he suddenly felt canine teeth latch onto his scruff. He moved to shake the unwanted intruder off, but before he could even begin the movement the teeth unclamped from his scruff. Cache whipped around to see who it was, prepared to fight them, even if he smelt horrible. His tense body instantly relaxed when his blurred vision sought out the white blob before him.
The shocked tone and words of Serenity made him pause in his advance to better see her with his partial vision. His eyes still stung like heck from the acid spray, but he reined in his whimpering, not wanting to appear like a big baby; even though he deemed the situation an exception.
Trying not to look too sheepish, Cache opened his mouth to tell Serenity what happened.
“Um, I guess you could say I mistook a skunk for a black and white…squirrel.” Cache winced both at his pathetic excuse and the pain burning in his dark eyes.
Finding himself desperate to rid himself of any presence of skunk, Cache trotted over to a muddy embankment of a pathetic little ripple of water and plopped down in it. He then began to cover his large brown and orange body with mud, water, and leaves. He clawed at the dirt with his paws to uproot its hold on the ground. Within seconds his body was fully covered in mud, leaves, twigs, and who knew what else.
Standing up from his completed mud bath, Cache could honestly say he felt a tad bit better. The smell of skunk wasn’t as strong and his body no longer itched as bad as before. Not bothering to give his body a shake, Cache inched slightly closer to Serenity, with his head lowered in embarrassment. He was glad that she was the one to see him like this and not anyone else but he still felt extremely embarrassed for having been caught in this predicament to begin with.
Shuffling his paws on the ground with his head down, Cache looked up Serenity with a look of despair on his wolf face.
“I hate to admit this, but I have no idea how I am going to clean myself up. Both of my forms are going to smell like skunk. I obviously will have no trouble cleaning my human form but…I can’t possibly be able to clean myself while in wolf form. I refuse to clean myself with my tongue. I still am surprised that you put your mouth on my scruff. It must taste retched.”
An idea dawned on him, but it wasn’t one he was thrilled to announce to Serenity. She probably already thought low of him already, he didn’t need to keep adding to it. Seeing as there were no other options in sight, Cache held his breath and plunged forward.
“Serenity. Would you mind,” Cache cringed as he said the last part, “giving me a bath?”
Cache felt his body warm at having to ask her to help him yet again. He warmed under the mud and fur even more at the thought of her having to touch his wolf body. The wolf in him was very sensitive to others touching him. He couldn’t guarantee that his wolf would be on his best behavior, but he would try his best for both Serenity and his sake.
Lifting his dark eyes up slowly, he watched Serenity’s response to his uncomfortable question.
[OOC: Maybe Serenity could bathe him in the woods away from the prying eyes of the pack, with maybe a little help given by the chef? Do whatever you want.
