        ╚══════════════════════════════╝
August's eyebrows furrowed together, and almost met in the middle of her forehead. She fidgeted around in her pajamas for a bit before opening her mouth to say something, but even then it was too late, as she could see Terrah was now gone and walking down the stairs. "I-I-I..." She whispered softly, as if Terrah was still there and could hear her. The young girl pressed her hands to her temple for a few moments before pushing the door closed again. She had two choices -- be rude and stay up in her room (which was preferred), or go downstairs to show that she still had some sanity left. Both of the options had their pros and cons, but one was not in August's nature. Her feet hesitantly shuffled over to her closet, where August pulled out one of her cozier, yet cuter outfits. She ran her hands across the once familiar articles of clothing (x), taking in the stale scent of what she used to smell like. Cinnamon and pumpkin. It felt odd to take off of her pajamas and put on actual clothes, and it would take getting used to. She gathered up all of the dirty clothes and threw them in the hamper in the corner of her closets, which was overflowing by now. August would take care of it later, though. Right now she needed to go comb out of her hair and brush her teeth. So once again, August shuffled towards her door and slowly opened it, looking left to right down the hallways as if it was a busy street. August waltzed over to the bathroom after more hesitation and brushed her teeth and hair, where she dared look in the mirror to see the dark circles under her eyes and pale skin. Even though it shouldn't have, it surprised Augustus, and it took her a moment to collect herself and walk out of the small bathroom. It felt like she was a fawn walking for the first time again, and August barely made it down the stairs in one piece. She wasn't sure if she was going to participate in the game of ouija, but the young lady figured she may as well get some food in her stomach. The tile was cold against the soles of August's bare feet, and the gazes of her sisters felt even colder, even though she knew they only looked at her with kindness. She cleared her throat, which was awkward in the silence of the kitchen, and murmured a few soft words that were somewhere along the lines of "Hello, how are you doing?". She felt like a deer in the headlights, and would not make any eye contact with her roommates as she scampered towards the cupboards where the food was. When she opened it, August noticed her protein bars were still there, which was a relief. Since she had moved to the sorority house it had been her main source of food, along with sweet tea and coffee. The loud crinkling sound of the wrapper was pleasant when it reached August's ears, and the familiar noise slowed her pounding heart. All was good. All was normal. So August pretended the figures of the ghosts that she saw were just tricks of the lighting.

Ruben snapped his head around to face Estrella as she spoke. "Oh, my pleasure," he grinned, moving over to Jasmine. He cocked his head and wondered for a moment how he was going to go about smashing it. He didn't want to impale the girl's foot with shards, after all. He looked back at Estrella again as she mentioned the ouija boards. He peered into the cupboard, only really noticing how many boards were actually in there. "Jeez," he muttered to himself. He shook his head and turned his attention back to Jasmine. There were better matters at hand.

"Oh, they'll know we're here," he said, a grin slowly forming on his face. He stood in front of the girl, though she couldn't see him - it was a weird feeling to be standing inches away from someone and they couldn't even lock eyes with him. He placed his finger lightly on the mug and pushed it gently to the edge of the table. Then, with a flick of his wrist, shot it off the surface and sent it shattering onto the floor, coffee splashing in every direction and soaking into everything. He let out a giggle, his childish nature finding the fun in breaking things. "They're gonna have fun cleaning that up," he said, looking towards Estrella and waiting for her to cause havoc over by the cupboard.

"Ruben, it's times like this I could kiss you," Estrella said, grinning like a madwoman. With this many people in the room, knocking the boards down would be a little inappropriate, she made it a rule never to move stuff if more than one person was watching, but it looked like one of the girls was stepping up to the board, so there was plenty of mileage to be had there. Hopefully Ruben would understand what she was doing and leave off for a bit, this sort of thing was best done at a slow boil, and he was a little more disposed to the direct approach. Which was fine, in its way, but scaring this many people required a little more finesse. Maybe she could have him fix the ambiance while she was waiting. "See if you can kill the lights," She said, stitting cross-legged on the table across from terrah, "but do it quiet, wait 'till they're all facing the board. We're gonna have a little chat, and then you're going to go full on Poltergeist on these guys." The spirit cracked her ghostly knuckles one more time, then placed her left hand on the planchette of the board, waiting for one of the girls to make contact.

Hazel heard a splatter in the kitchen, her head whipped towards the source of the noise. She grinned, realizing that Estrella had began. She was a spittle worried but she was eager to see what was going on. Silently, she peered, around the corner, realizing Ruben had knocked the coffee mug off. hmph, when did he get here? she giggled softly anyway, watching Estrella and Ruben pranking the girls. She was eager to jump out and scare one of them, but well, they couldn't see her. Suddenly, a little worried that Estrella and Ruben might see her, she turned around, not wanting to seem pushy or well, just weird. Crossing her fingers, she hoped they didn't hear her or see her, and she peered around the corner again, smiling with excitement.

Ruben grinned and gave a shrug. "Ah, it's a common reaction from anyone who meets me," he said, shooting Estrella a wink. He took a second to look around the room, scanning the faces of those in it to see who was affected the most. He liked to have a target at least, someone to really scare the everliving crap out of and get that priceless reaction of sprinting out the room. Interestingly enough though, these girls had proved to have some decent knowledge of spirits, which made it slightly harder to scare them. Still. It's always worth a shot.

He realised what Estrella's tactic was here - taking her time to build up the tension, and Ruben jumped right on board. "Ohohoh, I have an idea," he said, a sly grin spreading over his face. "Give me a second."
He walked slowly and purposefully to where he knew the fuse box was located, making sure to stamp his feet as loudly as possible so the girls knew he was there. He brushed past one of them who was standing by the cupboards, probably giving them a cold chill. He made a swift exit from the room and scampered down the hall to the doorway. He could have stepped through the door, but for effect he decided to open and slam it after him instead. He located the fuse box outside and plunged his hand into it, grabbing and twisting something until he saw the lights flicker off through the window. He grinned wider and headed back inside.

xxxFor as long as Jasper had been within this house, he had never before witnessed a group as unique as the young ladies in which now inhabited it. Standing with his firm lips set in an ever so slight frown, he watched their various ranges of mood and activity, studying them for quite some time before he dared reveal himself. He was one in which preferred to know what he was going into before ever allowing himself to be caught off guard. From what he had gathered, he was already off to a bad start with one young lady, not at all liking her attitude, nor personality. There were several ladies in which he did not mind by any means, some even taking a slight, friendly liking to. And then there was Jasmine, a rather unique character, one in which from the moment she entered, has reminded him quite vividly of his past wife. The thought every time sends a stifling pain throughout his aura, causing for him to take a moment’s break from her presence, unable to handle the feelings and memories in which arose when near her. It was as though his wife had returned to him, yet had no recollection of him, and such a realization hurt the man greatly.
xxxJasper wasn’t one to bother the young ladies, tending to keep his distance, although wherever Jasmine may be, he was ever so near, watching, and tirelessly watching. He was determined to try and find something off about her, that put his belief at an end, yet the only thing he could determine was different was her slight difference physically, as well as the time period. Truly, that was all. The more he began to realize this, let alone accept it, the more connected he grew towards the unknowing young lady. He would often grow frustrated with himself, wishing greatly to reveal his presence to her, yet he was almost frightened as to how he might appear to her, certain she would have a great lack of interest in an old ghost such as himself. The thought caused for him to look down upon his appearance, relieved that he had managed to get past his previous, unwelcoming state. In the past, he hadn’t been as well prepared with this new form, and tended to appear as he had passed, which was not by any means a pleasant sight for anyone to see. In those times, it was rare he ever revealed himself.
xxxThough Jasper is one to more than gladly share stories from his past, his death was not one. After having just returned from the war, he arrived at his house, making his way up the stairs to reach his wife and newborn child, a proud smile on his handsome face at the very thought. He had left suddenly before ever knowing his wife was expecting, having been told about the child over letters, it was now a month of age. It had been a boy, the mother not hesitating a moment as she named her child after his father overseas, battling to keep his family safe. Opening the door, he announced his arrival, though grew rather unsettled to realize the house was dark and silent. Setting down his single suitcase, he made his way throughout the house, though had no luck in locating his wife nor newborn. Upon reaching the upper floor, he entered their bedroom, a softness appearing on his face as he took in the sight of the crib, making his way over, he stopped abruptly as he heard the cocking of a pistol. Turning slowly, his sharp gaze focused on the man at the doorway, though he quickly relaxed as he saw it was his youngest brother, smiling as he began to make his way over, telling how cruel of a joke this was and requesting to see his wife and child.
xxxSeveral gunshots sounded, most of which struck Jasper directly in the face, some ranging over the rest of his unexpecting body. Left in the very spot, he wasn’t found for weeks, finally a concerned neighbor coming over to check and see that the veteran had settled in nicely to his life back home. It was much later that Jasper ever learned what had become of his wife and child. His brother’s wife had recently miscarried, and the man was left crazed, no longer the same after seeing how broken his wife was after such awful news. He set out with a vengeance, arriving near a week before Jasper’s arrival to his brother’s house, taking the woman and child as they slept, taking them far into the wilderness and abandoning them with nothing. The man returned, lurking as he waited for the arrival of Jasper, knowing his elder brother wouldn’t ever take the sight of him seriously, which was the perfect opportunity to kill him point blank with a pistol in which he had kept for security within his own house. The neighbor had been horrified by the gruesome sight, hysterically telling what she saw to police as they marked off the house as a crime scene. It was now the same house in which had been turned into a shelter for fraternity members.
xxxIt caused Jasper a great deal of pain to have never met his child, let alone seen his wife. Now his once happy house was turned into this, all of those in which stay here never aware of the tragedy in which occurred so many years ago. There wasn’t a soul in which wished to tell the depressing and alarming news. Jasper understood that, but it still hurt him, being treated in an unwanted manner most of the time, when this was the house in which he had built with his own sweat and blood. His blood was still stained in the base of the bedroom floor, the very bedroom in which Jasmine now occupies, the room in which Jasper spends most of his time, looking solemnly out of the window as he wonders how long his wife and child had been able to survive. The thought would often draw him into a bitter mood, acting in a cruel manner for some odd minutes, though quickly recollecting himself and acting in his typical, well-mannered fashion. Of course, if anyone dealt with the same pains as himself, he felt that they might very well understand his pained anger. Not only did he suffer from such memories, but also from post-traumatic stress disorder.
xxxHere Jasper stood, in the house he had built with love, now trapped within its walls, unable to leave the cruel memories. This morning he had been relapsing, though after some time he managed to pull himself away from such memories, standing silent as he listened for the sound of conversation, quickly rushing down the stairs and looking around in an alarmed manner as he searched almost desperately for Jasmine, unwilling to let her out of his presence for long, after what had happened to his wife, he had an extreme anxiety towards the very thought of losing the young lady. Out of the corner of his eye, he caught sight of her, his tense aura relaxing as he made his way near, watching as she took care to clean a mug. The very manner in which she held it reminded him of his wife, shaking his head, knowing he couldn’t possibly continue to torture himself by such thoughts. With a deep sigh, he glanced over to the other grouping, frowning as the power went out, quickly drawing near Jasmine, a practically protective stance as he looked around, and knowing it to be one of Ruben’s typical tricks. Little did he think of how aware she would now be of his presence, about to move away, though he managed to keep himself stable. It was time to announce himself, to her at the very least, he couldn’t keep himself from her any longer.
