 Alibi Smith

═══════════════

Alibi sat up abruptly when Alec spoke to her, her hazel eyes narrowed at the idea at the moment. Getting along with these people for a year, so far if they all acted like little miss diva she would gladly take a hunters bullet. Besides, he wouldn't need to deal with the fighting, she could do that all on her own. So with a frown she ran her finger across her neck, a menacing look in her eye. Now that she was in a mood it would take some action to get her from this funk.

So with a sigh she pushed herself up to her feet, brushing off her shorts in a rather abrupt manner.Running a hand through her long brunette locks she approached the alpha slowly, making each step seem like an eternity. The space between the two slowly dwindling. As she was with an arms reach of him, she stepped up quickly onto the first step, quickly spotting his cup in which he had set down. She snagged that cup, taking a sip from it, surprised by the rich and chocolate flavor that hit her tongue. Setting the cup back down in its rightful place she , she spoke with a bit of mockery in her tone ,
Interesting. Didn't quiet peg you as a hot chocolate guy. Non the less one who supports the humans.
. She raised a brow in questioning, she assumed the alpha wouldn't like the humans as much, or at least not try and make everyone gt along.

alec glanced over at calix as the girl came closer, for a scout she was very much testing her limits. his finger tapped softly against his thigh, sure he had a generally high amount of tolerance but honestly the wolf side of him wanted to snap. he turned back to calix for a moment, "excuse me for a second," his attention shifting back to the girl who was now drinking from his mug. "nice." he pushed the mug away once she had set it back down, his appetite had gone now. he clenched his jaw and leaned closer to her, very clearly expressing his annoyance as he did, and spoke quietly in return so that none of the humans would hear, "well, I hadn't pegged you for someone who'd be so rude. but I guess today is full of surprises isn't it? now, why don't you go back to your new friend and try and get along. this was supposed to be a get away from the annoyances of everyday life and a nice retreat for the pack and for these humans as well and I will not have you ruining it just because of some girl you don't like."

he turned away from the girl, ignoring the mug and her in general, both were something he didn't feel like worrying about. truth be told about the humans, if they didn't hurt the pack then they were of no worry to him. "calix, I believe heather ran off a few minutes ago, mind coming with me to hunt her down? she can't be too far by now." quite frankly he just wanted to get away from the site, already he was being presented new issues. it didn't feel much like a retreat, but still he'd try to enjoy. he was still waiting for calix's response to the last few questions but it wasn't bothering him too terribly much not except for the last one. he was still worried about what was bugging calix lately.

{{sorry for the short post guys, I'm not feeling too creative at the moment but the next one should be an improvement x:

    name | selene aurinko
    rank | huntress
    gender | female
    crush | none
    location | camp/lake
tagged | alibi [via thought], open
When Selene arrived in her rusty pick-up, she could see that the others had already arrived. Overhearing a girl's yelling, the huntress leaned back in her seat while clutching the steering wheel. She already knew that it was going to be a long year. Reluctantly, Ice finally opened the door and got out of her truck, taking her bags with her. As she walked, her arctic blue eyes scanned the area. Being a huntress, the girl had learned to always be on high alert, regardless of where she is. Heading straight to her cabin, Selene did her best to stay out of the sightline of others. Even though she enjoyed the few friends she had, she preferred not to spend her day socializing.

After she dropped her bags off at her cabin, Selene immediately changed course to the lake. She had always loved the listening to the calming crash of the tides. It also functioned as her escape if she ever gets an overwhelming urge to shift. She had a problem with that in the past, when she first began to shift. It seemed like the feral fae trapped inside of her could never get enough freedom. She had much better control of it now, though. But there are still a few episodes now and again.

Once she arrived at the lake, Ice quickly made her way to the shoreline. After untying and tossing off her boots, she waded into the shallow water, just enough to brim at her ankles. She should've probably checked in with her pack before departing from the camp, but she assumed that once they saw her truck, they'd know she'd arrived. After soaking her feet for a short time, Selene wadded out of the lake, heading towards a fairly large boulder. A light breeze ruffling her light blond hair, she climbed onto the rock and perched herself on top of it.

CALIXxBACCHUS
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
rank ; delta xxxxxxxxx tagged ; alibi, alec & heather xxxxxxxxx feeling ; intrigued

Calix's mind was practically in the clouds, his previously tense body now beginning to relax as he watched various people enter, along with the occasional fellow pack mate, although he found it rather surprising that no one had approached him or Alec yet. Typically they drew in the members, but it seemed as though today, the rest of the pack had other things on their mind, much like Calix himself at the moment. He raised a brow ever so slightly as he noticed Vincent was coaxed away by a young lady, shooting a gaze over to Alec, his gaze practically stating how odd it was of a sight, and hoping that Vin would handle himself properly when out with the human. The last thing they needed was for anything to happen that hurt anyone in the large group, or brought fright among the campers. Listening as he heard his alpha’s reasoning behind the hot cocoa, he simply gave a curt nod of his head, truly no interest in the matter. Calix just tended to say things off of the top of his head to get himself into conversations with others. At times very unexpected and uncomfortable, but those that know him are rather used to the amusing quirk. A soft chuckle rumbled from within his chest at Alec’s agreement to his assumption, nodding his head before giving a light sigh, running the hand in which rest behind his head through his thick hair. His peripheral vision was rather focused on a particular cabin in which housed a special girl, the slightest sign of movement at her window quickly caught his attention, looking over, and though he failed to return any recognition to her wave, happy thoughts flooded his mind at the sight of the cheerful young lady. Of course, those thoughts came to an abrupt halt as he heard what Alec said next, his large frame tensing slightly before he cast a look over to the younger man, chewing on his lower lip slightly as he thought over what he could possibly say, though aware it would be difficult to trick his closest friend. They knew one another a bit too well at times for Calix’s convenience. “Well,” he began, though quickly faltered, growing uncomfortable. Instead he listened as Alibi was scolded, his gaze watching her closely as she came near, his eyes narrowing as she took the cup from her alpha and had a drink. The disrespect in the gesture made the hair along the back of his neck stand on end, taking a step towards her, though knowing he couldn’t possibly do anything before the humans, knowing they had no idea towards the rankings in the pack. Sighing, he instead gave a warning glare as she continued to speak, not at all enjoying her tone of voice. Calix was glad to hear Alec demand she go elsewhere, being as she was a pack mate in which Calix particularly did not enjoy being near. As she walked past him, he reached out a hand to touch her side, “I will be seeing you later,” he assured in a quiet whisper, giving her a slight starting push towards the steps. Though he couldn’t say anything at the moment for sake of avoiding any incidents, he wasn’t bound to let her behavior go without a true talking to.

Calix rose from where he sat after she left, his gaze catching sight of Heather as she made her way into the forest, and he became immediately grateful for the distraction. About to say something himself, he turned to look towards Alec, a mild grin forming on his handsome face as he was delighted to hear his friend had much the same thoughts as himself. Calix was more than glad to remove himself from the area for the time being, especially when Heather was out wondering around by herself. He knew quite well from experience that you never know what lurks in the forest, and he felt that might come into play during their time spent in the cabins. “Of course,” he murmured in response to Alec’s suggestion, making his way down the steps and in the direction Heather had gone, casting a final warning glance back to Alibi that assured he wasn’t ok with hoe she had been acting beforehand, and would appreciate a change in her attitude. He glanced back to Alec, gesturing for him to catch up, though placing a finger on his lips, requesting he keep quiet as they drew in near to the beautiful, young girl. “You move ahead, and get her attention.” He murmured softly, knowing his friend well enough that he was confident he would do as he requested. With a quick wink, the two separated, Alec moving ahead as Calix lingered behind, watching as Alec began speaking to his twin before he steadily moved forward, a small grin on his handsome face as he outstretched his hands, wrapping them around her waist before he picked her up off of the ground, slinging her onto his shoulder. Of course, he hadn’t expected the hit that managed to catch him on the jaw, looking over to Alec in a slightly confused manner, wondering what he had been telling his sister lately to cause for her to hit him. “Hey, that wasn’t too nice,” he murmured to her softly as he turned around in a few circles, chuckling as he set her down, though extending an arm to ensure she wouldn’t tip over. So, inside he was dying to be near her, but he knew he had to keep himself centered in her presence, and act like the Calix she and Alec better knew. Giving a deep breath, his gaze met hers for a moment, and in that short span of time, he nearly forgot everything else. Running a hand through his hair, he rubbed his jaw slightly, looking over to Alec before his eyes returned to Heather. Tapping a finger against the area in which she had struck him, he raised a brow, “I am going to have to show you a few things, you hit like a girl,” he couldn’t resist but tease quietly towards the end. It was true of course, he wasn’t bound to allow her going around with a lack of ability to defend herself, especially when he treasured her all so deeply. Calix knew he wasn’t always going to be lurking and able to protect her, so deemed it a task of his while he was here to help ensure she felt confident when dealing with others in such manners. Glancing back to his friend once again, “Alec, why don’t you go see how Alibi is doing,” he suggested, being as in the back of his mind, he was thinking about what the temperamental girl might be doing while they were away.

      _________________________________________________

----Vaara couldn't hold back a grin as she drove towards the camp, she hadn't been able to spend some quality time with the pack for a while and she missed being around them! She was also super eager to forge a good relationship with the humans as she felt that the two species could have some things to teach eachother. As she pulled into park she looked around, there were a few people around that she recognised and a few she didn't. She grinned as she noticed Calix chatting to Alec and nodded to the two of them before she moved to her cabin, as far as she was aware she was in cabin two with one of the human girls, she hoped the girl was friendly! Vaara loved to make new friends. She walked into her cabin and looked around, it appeared the other girl was already here, so she took to the empty side and started unpacking her stuff there. She hummed to herself as she went about her work and when she was done she slid her suitcase under her bed. She yawned and stretched, it was funny how just travelling could make you feel tired. She walked out of the cabin and looked around the small gathering, there weren't too many humans about yet... And she could really do with stretching her legs. She took a tentative look around, Alec seemed preoccupied with Alibi and Calix wasn't looking as far as she was aware, nobody else was paying attention either so she slunk around to the side of the cabin and tried as nonchalantly as possible to wonder into the forest. She really didn't want anyone to see her, she was the beta of the pack, she had some sort of reputation to uphold, if any of the pack knew that she had run awol in such a close vicinity to a group of humans this big, she'd be in big trouble! And if a human were to accidentally see her... She dreaded to think about it so she decided just run.
She gave one last furtive look before shifting and running towards the denser part of the forest, the wind whipping through her snowy fur. The sooner she was out of eyeline the better because her pelt was definitely easy to spot when they weren't in the snows of winter. She lengthened her strides and allowed her lope to carry her far among the trees, she had blocked her senses to everything apart from the thrill of the run, she opened her maw slightly to take in the smells of the forest. In this moment she felt at her calmest, this felt like a good idea, this would allow her to clear her mind and be prepared to deal with any tension among the pack members due to the presence of humans. She adored her pack, don't get her wrong, but the differing opinions on humans and how the pack goes about relations with them definitely made some things rather difficult. She slowed her run as she realised she was reaching the edge of the treeline, she turned back and trotted slowly towards the camp area. She twitched her ears as she made her way back, she'd made it thisfar, she wasn't about to be caught out now. After a short trot she got to the edge of the darker thicket of woods and shifted, slipping once again into the world of the camp. She looked around, nothing seemed to have happened since she left, and she preferred it to stay that way. She looked around for Alec, perhaps he would give her a brief of things so she knew what was going on for the week ahead, that was if he even knew? Would someone give them a brief soon? She wasn't sure yet but she was quite happy to just relax until any tasks or activities were presented to her.

      HEATHER ↴

      xxxxxxthe adventurer
      ───────────────────────────────────
      | title adventurer | age twenty | species human | crush none | tags calix, alec

heather's eyes swept over her surroundings, deep shades of greens shifting all around her the further she walked into the woods. she wondered why alec had scolded that girl. she'd seen her, only once or twice, with a couple other people including her own brother and calix. it was odd to see her brother so angry, he was usually full of compassion and kindness, not this frustration. there was a swift movement out of the corner of her eye that completely stopped her in her tracks. a shift in leaves behind her and then she was swept off her feet, two arms wrapped around her waist and her body was slung over a shoulder. she let out a rather pitiful scream and lifted her hand, her palm landing on the unknown person's hard brow bone. she shifted her gaze down to the face of the stranger only to meet the eyes of calix. his eyes were quite enchanting. ew, heather, he's your brother's best friend. her lips parted into an innocent smile, "oops..my bad, I thought you were something else."

it was a question rather than a statement but what else do you say? his comment made her brow furrow and in a mockingly sad tone she responded, "but I wasn't even trying." her feet finally connected with the dirt and she gave him a slight frown as she assessed the damage. just a small red bump, nothing too bad. she had a somewhat serious expression as she gently placed a finger on the welt, her sea blue eyes showing the slightest bit of regret, "sorry about that calix, but it couldn't hurt that bad, I hit like a girl after all." she took a look back at her brother who was now off in his own world, looking back at the camp site. heather gave a soft laugh and removed her hand from calix' forehead. do not be weird. her blonde curls seemed heavy with the moisture from the fog and for a moment she considered the lake.

the site map showed the lake was just another few yards up the trail and it wasn't too terribly cold out, besides the heavy fog of course. perhaps she could go at night but she knew alec wouldn't want her running off again. the blanket of fog seemed to be dropping down further and further, and for some reason their surroundings felt less familiar and welcoming. "sounds like a good idea to check on her alec. oh but..calix? would you mind coming with me? I'm not done with my walk and I'd prefer not to be alone." she didn't want it to seem like she was desperate but the whole place just didn't feel right. she gave him a slight smile, her eyes easily giving away her unease that she was attempting not to show. alec had already gone off, not even hesitating to make sure the girl wasn't causing yet another scene.

Vincent was in mindless thoughts when he heard a concerned voice
and felt the touch of a soft hand. He looked down at the fingers,
followed up the arm, and ended at the face. It was the girl that he
had noticed from earlier. Turning towards her in a quick motion,
he cleared his throat and smiled lightly at her. Might as well try
      and be nice
, he thought. "I think I'm alright," he joked, his voice
rough. He listened to her gentle voice with a close ear. The way
she talked almost captivated him. He couldn't quite understand
how a person could sound so gentle. Vin nodded solidly and took
a few steps along with her. It was weird to him, the sudden
attention this human girl was giving him. Usually his unpleasant
aura chased people off immediately. Despite the foreign feeling,
he walked closely by her side. He soon fell behind, though, as
they walked on a thin trail.

Her movement almost startled him. He eyed her closely and
awaited words, but when she started to stumble back, he bit his
tongue. And it started to bleed. Vincent wanted to call out her
name in concern, but he did not know her name. Instead, he
lept forwards and offered her his hand. "Are you okay?" he asked,
his one eyebrow raised. It wasn't lifted in humor, but in worry
about her. "Trust me, I don't think you're a danger to yourself,"
he said as he straightened up. "Maybe to the forest, but defiantly
      not yourself."
      Vin tried to release some humor in the moment;
his lips curling into a wide smile. He chuckled under his breath
before looking at the trail ahead. It wasn't long before he
looked back down at her, though, because she shared her name.
Abelia, he thought. Interesting. "Vincent," he replied steadily.
"But feel free to call me Vin. Or, whatever you can come up
      with."
He laughed lightly at her joke.

Vincent was starting to become much more relaxed. That was,
well, until a strange feeling passed over him. It was an odd
sensation, something he only feels when there's danger near by.
He looked around quickly, his eyes darting at incredible speeds.
If his instinct told him so, it was probably true. He tensed up
and clenched his left hand into a fist. Instinct was good when
it came to surviving, but wasn't very good in his case because
it beckoned for a shift. Vin managed to calm his instinct down
enough that he didn't feel the need to shift. It's nothing, he
told himself. He smiled lightly at her as she turned to continue
walking. He followed close behind, but was soon struck with
a firm hand on his chest. He was startled enough that he took
a paced step back. He looked down at her with a concerned
look before she pointed out the fawn. Vincent eyed it closely.
Fawn's mean doe, which mean herds, which mean food. He
smiled at Abelia and looked out at the deer. He could at least
pretend that he doesn't kill bambi's parents for food all the
      time.

Vin only got worse when she pointed out the track. That was
defiantly a werewolf print, and it didn't smell like anyone
from his pack. Despite how weird it probably seemed, he
stepped closer to Abelia and invaded her personal space. He
loomed over her, his eyes searching. "We should head back
to camp. See if anything interesting is going on."
      Vincent
reached down her side and wrapped his hand gently around
her wrist. He didn't look down at her once, but simply stood
in her space and held her wrist.

CALIXxBACCHUS
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
rank ; delta xxxxxxxxx tagged ; heather xxxxxxxxx feeling ; protective

The sight of the innocent smile as it spread across Heather’s gentle face made him practically grow weak at the knees, leaning slightly against a tree, though playing it off in such a manner for it to be more natural. Sighing as he heard her apology, his eyes showed forgiveness, shaking his head, “I think I will make it,” he assured softly as he stood back to his full height once again, feeling stable enough to do so at the time. Of course, just as he began to overcome himself, her hand reached out to touch his chin, resisting to flinch away, instead growing rather tense, and easing up after her hand withdrew. Any other woman had little to no effect on him, yet, with Heather it was nearly unnatural, and made him always feel on edge, unsure as to how he might react to various situations he may be put in with her. He knew quite well that at times he might appear a loner when watching from afar, but in his case, it tended to be the best, for sake of himself not faltering out of a conversation with someone when she might show and draw in his attention. Calix reached a stray hand up and ran it through his hair, though quickly shaking it so as to give it a slightly rough look, unable to help one of his many nervous habits. His mind had begun to wonder, when suddenly she heard her soft voice, raising a brow as he listened intently, showing a generous smile as he moved from where he stood, following the clean scent of water that came from not too far off. “Of course, come child,” he murmured the tease softly, showing a quick wink, though in that same instant regretting the gesture, his gaze moving to ensure Alec hadn’t caught sight, and relieved to his friend was heading back towards the camp. Placing his hand on her side, he asked for her to walk before him, feeling more comfortable staying behind her, for sake of always being careful when she was near. Calix knew very well that he would never forgive himself if something might happen to her when she was under his responsibility. Yes, she was a perfectly capable young lady, yet, he had always been taught to take care of her and to be watching over her at all times. It seemed as though Alec’s demands had caused for something more to develop, and now Calix was more than willing to be around her. As children, he had thought of her as a practical sister, but then they began to age, and he began to realize she was much more to him than he had ever thought. The thought had been striking, yet no matter how many times he told himself it was wrong to have an interest in her, it only seemed to develop. Keeping close behind her, there were moments in which he found himself stepping on her heal, or bumping against her, chuckling softly at each incident, and of course, playfully reaching forward to pull her back to him. He found it difficult to control himself, and the closeness was all he had ever wanted, savoring the contact for those short moments before it would come to an end.

As they drew near the lake, Calix walked past her to inspect the area around them, his typical over protectiveness coming into play, attempting to catch even the faintest sight or scent of anything near. Glancing back to Heather, he motioned for her to come towards him, crouching down and placing the tips of his fingers in the water, wincing at the cold bite of the water. “What brought you out here?” he questioned in genuine curiosity, rising to his grand height, casting yet another glance over the still water. No matter how empty things seemed around him, he couldn’t put off the unsettling sense he received from the woods. Things seemed a bit too empty for his likings. He turned, his gaze looking down to the ground, brow furrowing as he noticed large, extremely faint, nearly impossible to identify. Yet he knew what he saw, he knew all too well. It was just his luck that Heather was the type of girl to get in the state of mind to decide she was independent enough to run out and do as she pleased, at the most random times. He sighed in dismay at the thought, looking up to her in a nearly regretful manner, wishing he had simply decided to return to the camp with her at his side. Now, he couldn’t grow comfortable, and attempted to not let his tense stance show, yet it was impossible. Clearing his throat, he narrowed his eyes slightly as he looked up towards the sky, returning them to meet her gaze once again. “Heather, I think it best if you don’t come out here by yourself, okay?” he attempted to assure, wincing inwardly being as he knew quite well it wasn’t his place to ask that of her, but he felt some sense of need to at least try. “And if you ever, feel frightened, come to me, please,” Calix added more quietly as he took a step near her, taking a gentle hold of her chin to ensure he could clearly look into her eyes, and search for her innermost, hidden emotions. “I know you are a big girl now, you have been since you were five,” he couldn’t resist but add with a soft chuckle, the fond memories returning in the uncanniest moment. There had been a point in her life when she strutted around like a princess, and demanded everyone follow her commands as such. He refused to let her live down such times, and was often bringing up various things from the past, just to see if she remembered in the first place. “You know, this trip would come to an end rather quickly if anything happened to you,” Calix reminded her with a knowing look in his eyes, being as they both very well knew how Alec would react to any trouble she might cause. It was unfortunate of course, but it was one way to attempt and ensure she was careful.

She couldn’t deny she enjoyed a sense of humor in a man, and it appeared already that he wasn’t too proud of himself to show who he truly was inside. The thought intrigued her greatly, curious as to what more she was bound to learn of him, and at the end of the day, what her thoughts of the young man might be. At the moment, he was simply, breath takingly gorgeous, and well humored. She showed an appeased smile as he quite willingly followed along, hoping silently that there weren’t any other men around that were anything comparable to him, or she would have an extremely difficult time choosing between the two. Abelia chewed softly on her lower lip, though reminded herself that she was here to enjoy herself, and not set on finding love. Although in her mind, the idea was wonderful. She blushed slightly at the very fact she was even letting herself think of such things so soon, clearing her mind after she managed to fall. Hearing him ask if she were okay, she quickly shook her head reassuringly, offering a small smile. “Never better, Vin,” she couldn’t resist but add after he introduced himself, enjoying the fact she oddly felt comfortable enough to take the step forward and skip formalities, by doting him by the nickname in which he offered. “I don’t believe there is really much of a shortening for mine, sorry, but you can call me whatever you please,” Abelia attempted, laughing softly for a moment before correcting herself and giving him a playfully stern look, as though silently reminding him that of course, some things she would rather not go by. In the back of her mind she tested various terms of endearment for him, though none seemed to click just yet, knowing she would need to better get to know this ‘Vin’ before she attempted to settle on something she deemed as so important. She turned her head to look behind her as the distance between them seemed to disappear, her face flushing ever so slightly as he took hold of her wrist in his large hand, biting her lip ever so slightly as she looked up to him, showing a disappointed pout as she heard his suggestion. “If we must, but don’t leave me, promise?” she attempted to keep him near, giving a rather pleading look, though she listened to his desires, and began to head back towards camp, allowing for him to keep hold of her wrist for as long as he wished. She wasn’t one to feel very off about others, no matter what they may do to make most anyone cringe, she just went with it. Abelia turned to look up to him, smiling, practically beaming as she made her way towards her cabin, ensuring that he was in tow as she took a slight hold on the end of his shirt, though quickly halted, looking around.

Turning back to him, she tilted her head ever so slightly to the side, “Which cabin is yours?” she asked, waiting until he pointed it out before she headed towards it, letting go of his shirt as she made her way up the steps, knocking on the door as she opened it, calling in to see if anyone was inside. Finding there to be no one, she entered the small cabin, noticing it to be the exact same as hers, and unable to keep from rolling her eyes at how sad it was that everything was so orderly and similar. She adored differences, finding that they made everything more interesting. Being her typical, flamboyant self, she made her way back to the rooms, pointing towards one room to see if it was his before she entered, sighing as she noticed his clothing was still for the most part in his bags. “Everything is going to get all wrinkled,” she uttered as she stepped over to the bag, setting it on the bed as she began to take various articles of clothing out and organized them before she began placing them in the dresser, seeing several shirts already held within and looking at him with a near look of disbelief. “How old are you?” she teased with a soft laugh, though knowing it was only to be expected he would wish to unpack later on, and investigate the area to begin with. “Um, so Vin,” she began, casting a look over to him as she put away several pairs of socks, finalizing the process of putting away his clothing. “Why is it that you wanted to come back to the cabins?” she couldn’t hold back the question any longer, walking over to him and smoothing out the front of his shirt, delighted by the body she felt behind the soft material. Taking her hands away, she raised a questioning brow before going over to the side of his bed and setting his bag back onto the floor, sitting on the edge of the bed, and turning to look out the window. The weather was perfectly fine, and for all that she could guess, it must have been for the sake of him not wishing to be in her company. The realization made her wince in near pain, feeling rather uncomfortable as she rose to her feet, blushing ever so slightly as she reluctantly looked up to him. “Sorry for,” she began, though trailed off, unwilling to apologize for being herself. “Never mind,” Abelia murmured quietly as she attempted to walk out the door, but with a small whine, she turned back to him, unwilling to leave his side for sake of not wanting to be thrown out amongst complete strangers once more. She went back to the bed and sat upon the soft surface, slipping her shoes off as she looked up to him. “What do you think your roommate would do if we locked him out?” she practically suggested with a soft giggle at the thought, a devilish light in her eyes. It wasn’t that she felt any need to have privacy, just that she enjoyed being mischievous from time to time.

Delilah uncrossed her arms and rolled her eyes. She stood up, turning on her heels and heading down the porch steps with a light thud. She could hear over her shoulder the girl being talked to by another boy. She was kind of satisfied that she was being put in her place. Delilah wondered if that girl had ever been taught basic manners. Instead of shoving Delilah out of the way, she could have simply said "excuse me" and Delilah would have graciously moved. Delilah figured that she would have to have no patience for girls without manners.

Delilah wasn't scared to stand up to the girl. If the girl wanted to be more difficult, Delilah had no problem arguing with her. She stopped at the end of the circle of cabins, looking around. Why had the girl called her barbie? Was she jealous? Delilah surely wasn't blonde. As she thought, she wandered off down a narrow path in the treeline. The woods smelt of fresh morning dew and sweet grass. Delilah enjoyed the sound of the frosted ground crunching under her feet. She couldn't wait for the evening to come around. Evening was her favorite time of day. She could just sit by the fire and read her book; that was, if the other girl wasn't planning on doing the same thing. Anyways Delilah had gotten to the cabin and picked her bed first, which must entitle her to some authority.

Delilah shoved her hands into her pockets as she walked. She was done with thinking. She wished she could just let go of the small conflict, but she just couldn't do it. As she kept going she slowly but surely got more and more irritated about it. The way the girl acted was much more, obnoxious, than anyone she had ever met before. It was kind of strange how when she was in place of the victim she had to turn away and do some bizarre breathing exercises. It was possible that the girl had horrible anger issues...

Delilah kept walking until she arrived at the shore of a small lake. The water was a clear, ice blue color. The water had not yet frozen, but it appeared to be very cold. Delilah stood with her feet planted in the rocky beach, looking over the water until something caught her eye. Delilah had to take a second glance to realize the fair creature sitting on top of the rock was in fact a person. Her eyes widened. How was the girl not freezing, she wasn't wearing shoes. Delilah slowly approached the girl with a softened look on her face. "Hey there? Are you alright?" she asked the girl sincerely. "Aren't you cold?" Delilah stood on a smaller rock a few meters from the girl, looking at her with a concerned expression.

    JAMES

James had been unpacking his things into the small wooden dressed across from his bed. He was making sure that he took his time to refold every article of clothing and place it in the drawer nice and neatly. James was not a neat freak, but he did enjoy order. He knew that he was stalling, avoiding all means of talking to anyone. When he saw his roommate walk into the washroom, he tensed up. He relaxed as his roommate said nothing and shut the washroom door behind him. James just waited for him to return. James would be forced to speak with him. James didn't want to be rude and completely ignore him. His roommate was a tall, strong looking fellow. Someone he surely didn't want to mess with.

James went back to unpacking, to take his mind off things. Finally, from the bottom of his suitcase he pulled a tiny black fan. He placed in carefully on the beside table and plugged it in. He flicked the switch ten or twenty times just to see if it worked, and just for fun. He sound the white noise the fan made helped him sleep better, calmed him down. His parent refused to believe he had social anxiety and take him to a doctor, so he experimented with the power of the internet and this was one of the outlets he discovered. James hoped it wouldn't disturb his roommate too much.

James tried to step out of the way when his roommate exited the washroom but stumbled over the cord to the fan and nearly hit the wall. His roommate helped him up. "Thank you" James said quietly before scrambling away. James stood by the window overlooking the porch quietly. He wanted to go out and meet people but he was much to shy for it. He would not be able to get a single word out if there were more than three or four people in a group. He was bored sitting here all by himself. Sometimes he wished he wasn't this shy.
