Description
Ah yes, quite the looker Dareos is.
With hair that if the fairest blonde and
eyes of sparkling blue. He stand at
roughly six feet tall and has a fairly
muscular build to him. He weighs
about 160 pounds. He looks a little
bit intimidating, but at the same time
when you see the warm friendly look
in his eyes he seems a lot more
approachable. He has lightly tanned
skin that is smooth to the touch. His
lips are a little plump, with a straight
nose, strong chin, and captivating,
perfectly spaces eyes directly under
his fair blonde eyebrows. He is a
handsome guy, but what else is to be
expected from a prince? Though
even he has his blemishes with
scars peppering his chest from
sword fighting. Some scars are
large and some are small, but as
they are on his chest they are well
hidden giving the illusion of physical
perfection, but nobody is perfect,
and even if at first glance he
might appear to be he would
never claim to be, nor does he wish
to be perfect. His flaws are a part
of him.
∵MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM∵∴MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM∴
Personality
"I'd like to think I'm a good guy."
Dareos isn't your stereotypical
self-absorbed hard headed prince.
Yes he can be a bit on the cocky side,
especially when you first meet him. He
seems a little thick at first as well
simply because of the slight
arrogance he shows to strangers. He
just wishes for them to acknowledge
his rank as the prince. At any rate once
you get to know him he is rather sweet,
and you'll see how thoughtful he is.
He is calm, calculating, observant,
and very brave. He would gladly
give his life for his kingdom and
anyone he cares about. His undying
loyalty is hard to overcome, even when
he has seen the worst in others. He
still tends to believe there is good in
everyone and wishes to help them
find it. He has a good heart, a big
heart with plenty of love and care to
show others. Of course, he doesn't
just hand his trust out to everybody
he meets. That would be too easy. No,
it takes awhile to truly get to know
him. Once you become his friend
you will see that the wait was worth
it. Dareos is wise beyond his years, and
patient with plenty of intelligence to
help him in making choices. He
only wishes to do what is best for
the kingdom. He wants peace, and
he will do what it takes to get it.
∵MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM∵∴MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM∴
History
"Oh well, it's quite a tale."
Well since birth Dareos was
raised in the shadow of his elder
brother. He was never bitter about
it though as he didn't really crave
attention. Yeah every child wants
love, but Dareos knew very well
how to entertain himself. He once
got along with his brother, but as
they grew older their paths seemed
to grow apart. Both were told
that dragons were bad, but Dareos
never really believed that. He knew
that humans were as much at
fault as dragons were and wanted
to give the dragons a chance. He
noticed that his brother seemed
much more inclined to hate the
dragons without even giving them
a chance. He was raised to believe
that though, so Dareos doesn't
believe his blindness is his own
fault. Not completely anyway, but
it is still his own opinion. Well
Dareos may sometimes pretend
to dislike the dragons it is merely
because he does not know what to
make of them. Large scale creatures
who can change to look like a
human? It was a little spooky to
think about. Well regardless he is
willing to give them a chance no
matter what he was taught or what
the others of the two species might
think of this peace. Now, even though
Dareos tries to see the best in
others he is well prepared for
an attack. As per himself he has
been in sword training for a great
many years now, preparing his
skills in case he would one day
need to use them for himself or
his people.
As things stand now he is pretty
happy with this peace, and he wishes
to continue with it. He doesn't
like to fight, though he most certainly
will if he has to. He believes that
peace is simply easier. Plus he
is not so thick headed to believe
he could take on a dragon alone.
They were powerful, graceful
creatures that he does indeed
hold a respect for. He knows taking
a dragon down alone would be
no easy task. He would only attack
a dragon fo said dragon attacked
him first. At that point he would
most likely just play defense and
never switch to offense not
desiring to appear as a threat.
It would be a very different story
entirely if the dragon was threatening
someone he cared for. Then he
would attack without mercy. That
being said he is both nervous and
a little excited about this betrothal.
He doesn't truly know what to
make of it as the daughter of the
Elder Clan is a complete stranger
to him. He is more than willing to
give her a chance. He just hopes
that things go over well. He knows
that there will be plenty of hardships,
but he refuses to let any of
those thoughts discourage him
from doing the right thing. He
knows that this is the right thing,
even if he never falls in love with
the daughter. He would not want
to jeopardize the peace, and so
he will do what he must, and
hopefully find some happiness in
the process.
∵MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM∵Aren’t you sick of being selfish?
I wanna show that I try.
Living every day like it’s my last,
I can catch up on my sleep when I die.

mira--portath
❝the diplomat❞
[age] twenty|four hundred [dragon] diplomat [ location ] garden [ tagged ] none
Flying high above the clouds Mira felt free, no longer confined to the small delicate body of a human her wings spanned out across the skies. Every wing beat took her higher and farther away from everything and everyone, all her worries and responsibilities were left behind shed along with her disguise. The sky illuminated with a wash of reds and oranges gave the silver dragon a sense of peace that she had been missing for such a long time. Almost at the moment of her realization Mira felt something come crashing down on her, twisting Mira tried to see her attacker, only to see a glimmer of black scales. "What have you done?!" the familiar voice roared as sparks flew from it's mouth, images flew before her, all of the destruction and death she had dealt now flashed before her "What have you done?!" he roared again.
"No!" Mira gasped, her breath coming in ragged shuddering gasps as she stared at the ceiling waiting until her breath regained some normalcy. Watching the light of the morning sun spread across the ceiling the diplomat tried to push her nightmare to the further recess of her mind, a practice that over the years had become more and more common for her. At last feeling as if she was more back to her normal self Mira finally rose from the warmth of her bed to get ready for what was to be a very interesting day. It was the day that Fayette of the Elder Clan would be introduced to the court at a banquet tonight as Prince Dareos' fiancee, while the diplomat did hope for the best she was nervous all the same for any unforeseen events. With these thoughts swirling through her head Mira began preparing for the day, after slipping on a dress of deep blue Mira brushed the knots from her raven black hair, as a diplomat she felt it best to keep a simple but elegant look.
Stepping out of her room Mira took a deep breath, straightened her posture and headed down the hall the small space making her feel trapped, truth be told though this feeling wasn't as bad as when she had first come here in that first visit she hadn't even been able to stand the great halls they were so cramped. Of course after her multiple visits this claustrophobic nature had somewhat lessened in Mira but there was still only one place in this castle that made her feel comfortable and at peace.
The garden was always a quiet place, a respite from the flurry of activity that was always occurring in the halls of the castle. As the cool breeze washed over her Mira closed her eyes and tried to recall the feeling of flying, she'd been so busy with trying to keep a crumbling peace together that she had overlooked such things. The diplomat was what she was in this life and until she was sure that her father's wish was fulfilled that was not likely to change. As she continued on her walk through the gardens Mira reflected on the events to come. Was this marriage really a good idea? It was pinning all hopes of peace on two teenagers and hoping that everything worked out, if it succeeded there was a chance for lasting peace but, if this marriage fell through there was little that Mira could do to stop everything she had worked for from crumbling.

ЄDEN ВELLASIS
Շhe Ըady
It had never been a particular habit of Eden's to awaken early in the morning, yet this day found her up with the rising sun and pouting about it. Sleeping till near noon was the typical habit most noble women employed, staying up all hours of the night made it a respectable endeavor, so it was an irritation to the well-bred young woman. To assuage her displeasure at the rudeness of the sun seeping through her curtains, she indulged herself in breakfasting in bed. Her maid, a petite girl by the name of Colette, bustled around the room as she ate, drawing the burgundy curtains open, picking up discarded clothes, and performing a myriad of other tedious tasks.
Eden ate her breakfast slowly, savoring the boiled quail eggs, and the crisp buttered toast. As she ate, she pondered the up coming celebratory banquet dedicated to the engagement of the young prince and the dragon princess. Many opinions had been voiced on the matter, some loud and brash, some spiteful towards the princess (many ladies had hoped to take her place), others curious hidden under the facade of indifference, but all had been confided in her. She knew what most of the high nobles of their kingdom thought about the impending marriage, but her opinion alone remained exclusive, known only to herself and her brother.
Skepticism, that was the way she viewed the betrothal. It was a naive way to unite their kingdoms, a fool's hope bathed in a skewed notion of romance. However, despite the lack of plausibility in the arrangement, Eden found herself brimming with curiosity as to what would happen. Would the two royals get along? Would the treaty fall to pieces? Or would, on the off chance they fell in love, the two kingdoms finally have peace? Each scenario would be interesting no matter what happened, and the young woman had no doubt the drama that would unfold within the next few months would be one for the history books. A slow smirk slid over her face.
"My lady, that's a scary smile you have." Colette's amused voice broke though her thoughts. The maid knew well her lady's true nature hidden under the thick veneer of pleasantry she put on for the rest of society, yet the two women remained close, likely because Eden had saved Colette from a worse fate than serving her.
"Whatever are you talking about Colette?" Eden's almond brown eyes looked up in innocence. She set aside her breakfast tray and slid gracefully out of bed, gesturing for the young maid to help her dress for the day.
Swathed in a dress of deep green, Eden soon exited the Bellasis family's quarters of the castle, footsteps light and graceful. She seemed to float gently along the corridor, dress swishing about her ankles as she walked absently in the direction of the gardens. Few of the other female nobles her age would be around at this hour, they would yet be asleep (which she too would have preferred to be), but the castle still hummed with life. To the few nobles she did pass, Eden allowed her head to dip to an appropriate level in a polite greeting before moving on.
Her feet soon brought her to the gardens, and, as she stepped out into them, the young lady smiled at the soft scents of the blooming flowers. There was such a sense of peace at this early hour. Few people moved about, leaving just the gardeners and a few other solitary denizens of the castle. Pleasantly immersed in the serene atmosphere, she took a seat on a nearby bench opening the book grasped in her hand to the marked page.

Dareos Peine Letington
Always being the earlier riser Dareos was already up and ready to start the day. However, this day was different, he was typically the rather jolly sort, but on this particular morning he was feeling nervous. Everything had seemed to happen so fast. Now he was betrothed to a dragon lady he had never even met, for all he knew she could be crazy! What if she tried to kill him in his sleep? She could incinerate him, oh what an awful way to go! To feel the pain of his flesh burning, running through the halls ablaze with pale embers licking the air around him. Just seeking a faster, less painful destruction. Perhaps then he would simply fling himself over his balcony. This was his duty as the prince, and he had agreed to it. He could only imagine what was to come for him, he couldn't actually predict the future. Who knew? Perhaps they could end up having a happy life togetger? Maybe they would even fall in love, but even if they didn't that didn't mean they couldn't find some sort of happiness in the situation. They just had to find a way to make it work. What if she hated him? He did not wish for her misery, but this courting was to keep the peace, he didn't have a choice. He sighed to himself as he fixed his clothes a little. The rising sun warm his lightly tanned skin as it illuminated his fair blonde locks making it appear as if he had a halo atop his head. He was no angel though, he had done deeds that he was not proud of, who hadn't? He was staring out the window with curious blue eyes. The world held much wonder for his adventurous spirit. It was a shame he was confined in these walls so, he wished for freedom. In a way he truly envied the dragons for they could fly and take themselves wherever they wanted to go. Of course, he was no doubt over simplifying things.
Suddenly he turned looking at the untouched breakfast the servants had brought to him. He strode carelessly over to his bed and sat on the edge, fingers brushing over the hilt of the sheathed sword his kept beside him when he slept. One never knew when they might need to defend themselves. He ate what he could though his appetite was rather dampened and then he stood. He placed the sword belt around his waist so it rested on his left hip, ready to be drawn in his right end. It was a double edged sword, and not to brag or anything, but he knew how to use it. As he walked to the door to his room he looked down at his feet, hands instinctually reached for the door handles and pulled the large wooden doors open. The hallway was revealed to him, lit with sunlight from the rising source of daylight. He turned to head down the hall his hands caressing the delicate satin fabric of the curtains. He watched out the window, the outside world much more fascinating to him than the world inside. His face was expressionless except for the hint of admiring in his eyes to the beauty of what lay in the outside world. He held a high appreciation towards anything that had to do with nature. Why a prince would think highly of such trivial things was probably a wonder, and he really couldn't place it. It was almost as though it were calling to him. He made his way through the seemingly endless maze that was the castle until he found his way outside. From there he proceeded to enjoy the breeze ruffling through his hair. He uttered a single word as he stood there with his eyes closed."Beautiful." To him this was what it was all about, the reason he awoke in the morning. To see and feel the beauty the world had to offer.
He had quite a poetic heart and mind when it came to life and the world around him. He tended to see things from an artistic stand point though he was no artist. He could read, and write, not to mention play lovely music, but he could not paint or anything of that like. Nor did he really wish to try for he would never be able to properly capture anything. To silently admire seemed like the better option for him, and he was perfectly fine living his life like that. He started forwards once more wandering outside without a purpose in mind, just to be outside and enjoy the fresh air. That was his only goal, to enjoy himself.

It had been late the previous night when Chelsea had finally gotten to sleep. She had been looking around the new city, trying to learn as much as she could and to make sure that everything would go off without a hitch. In truth she didn't really trust the human rulers all that much but for the sake of them all the marriage needed to work out. She was awoken by the faint beams of light that shone through the reasonably thin curtains and at first she pulled the covers up over her head to block it out, but eventually she gave up and swung her legs off of the bed, leaving herself sitting down on the small bed. She had chosen to stay in a small inn that night, she wasn't an official part of the young Faette's escort yet she had chosen to come to the city to protect her anyways. The war had gone on too long and Chelsea was fed up of it.
She pushed herself up and off of the bed, quick to dress herself and get herself ready for the rest of the day. She was wearing dark green trousers and a black shirt with a black leather jacket over the top of it. She attached her knives at the sides of her body, sure not to wander the streets unarmed, people in this world still feared dragons and would happily try to kill one if they had the chance. She made her way over to the window and pulled open the curtains, blinking at the bright light which poured into the otherwise dull room. Her black eyes barely changed in the light and remained like black shadowy pits, they were the only things which gave her away as being, not quite human.
She then headed down the stairs and into the room below where some breakfast was being served. She sat down at one of the small tables and when the waitress came over she was quick to decide what she wanted to eat, bacon, sausage and egg, nice and simple, and rather delicious. She received a few looks from people, most likely due to her weapons, but she ignored them, she didn't really care what anyone else thought of her. Her breakfast was quick to arrive to her and as soon as it did she practically inhaled it, scoffing it all down, you would have thought that she was starving but in truth she had just eaten an entire deer the day before. After she had finished off all of her food she wasn't sure what exactly she should do and decided to just wait in the inn for a while and see what she could pick up from the others around her.

Eʟʀɪᴄ Aᴠᴇʀɪʟʟ
╾of the Royal Guard
[ tagged: anyone ]
Elric was awake the moment the sun was, as was his routine. After cleaning and dressing himself in the armour they wore only on special occasions such as today, he left his shared chamber in the barracks and started toward the training grounds, where the soldiers would execute their morning training every day. Of course today's routine wasn't nearly as harsh as usual, for they wanted to remain presentable throughout the day. It wouldn't do to dirty their armour with grime and sweat and arrive at the royal wedding between their beloved prince and the esteemed daughter of the Elder Clan. Personally, Elric was excited for it. If all went well, they would settle the feuds between their races, and even if everything went to Hell they would more than likely see a duel for the centuries. It was wrong of him to look forward to war, but he held no ill will toward the dragons, simply that he enjoyed protecting the people, his people. He would stand for this kingdom on pain of death if it meant keeping them safe. They spared him a life of servitude, and so he owed them no less than that which he had been given: freedom.
Above all, however, he did wish for peace. He was glad to erase any threat to his people, even if it meant living alongside those who had harmed them in the past. Because, if this all worked out, it would all be in the past and they would have to look to the future, and that was all that mattered. They couldn't change history, and they couldn't predict the future, but they could control the here and now and so long as they held fast to the peace they were trying so desperately to forge, time was all but theirs.
Elric mused these thoughts as he practiced with his sword, not with intent to maim but to show skill. He would be above presentable this day, and he couldn't have his balance thrown about him. His blade, Silverbane, was an extension of himself, and he could move with it as he would his own arms and hands, but it never hurt to strengthen the bond between sword and master. After all, what was a knight without his sword?

Fayette Draco*of the Elder Clan*
[ tagged: open ]I wonder if father will allow me to stay home today if I pretend to be ill... Faye wondered, coming awake slowly. She stared up at the frilly, pink and white canopy of her childhood and sighed. Perhaps she wouldn't be pretending. The knot in her stomach was making her quite queasy and she wondered how unladylike it woukd appear to leap from her bed and race to the nearest chamber pot. Sitting up slowly, she looked around the all too familiar room. It hadn't changed since she was a kid. The walls were pale pink with white trim. There was a white dresser along one wall and a white desk along the other. The carpet was plush ivory and off to the side, through a doorway, was a sitting room with elegant, ivory and rose colored furniture. Sliding from the bed, she rang the maids to draw her a bath and bring her breakfast to her room. Normally, she would take her meals in the main dining hall with her father. But today she wanted to be alone. Her life was over. Perhaps she was being dramatic, but that was how she felt. She was getting married to a human male when she was in love with someone else. Of course, that someone else had always been unattainable to she, but she had still dared to hope.
Adjusting her nightgown, she crossed the room to the French doors leading out onto her balcony and stepped into the warm, early morning sunlight. The cloying scent of roses filled the air, and walking to the balcony's rail she leaned forward and gazed at the vast gardens her mother had planted years ago. A knock sounded at the door to her room, and turning away from the beautiful flowers below she returned to her room to prepare for the day. Soon, a royal wedding unlike any other would take place. Before that, she would be given a little time to meet ans get to kbow her husband to be. Today would be their first meeting.
~~~~~
Two hours later, Fayette found herself dressed to perfection and ready for the day. The dress she wore was a pale blue and white number that complimented her darker blue eyes. Her favorite maid, a young woman named Jezebel, took care of her hair, creating an intricate knot at the back of her head with wispy curls falling down to frame her face and thin, delicate shoulders. Through her hair, she threaded small white blossoms that complimented the dress. That done, she finally quit the room and stepped out into the opulent hallway. Paintings lined the wall on either side of the hall, depicting their species to perfection. Dragons in flight, perched on cliffs, playing with their young... quite a few were paintings of her and her parents. Before her mother had been killed, they had been such a happy and joyous family. Descending the grand staircase, she wandered through the main floor of the four story mansion the Elder Clan called home. Maids and Servants were rushing about, preparing for the departure of their Princess and the small contingent that would accompany her. Faye had insisted on only taking three others with her, but she had chosen with care.
Mira Portath was a decisive, diplomatic woman who would do her best to keep the peace between the humans and dragons. Chelsea Karien was a fierce and protective dragoness who wouldn't hesitate to attack if necessary. And Sir Jannik Dahl... well he was a Knight unmatched in both skill and dedication. He was also her best friend and the objext of her affections. She wouldn't be able to do this without him... without all of them.
