When the dagger embedded itself in the beast near her head she released her grip and fell to the ground just before the monster slashed her shoulder with its long claws. She growled in pain and quickly limped away from it, hiding behind a bush as she watched the two men and their bonded animals quickly bind the monster and take it down with what she could smell was poison. The scent was putrid and almost made her gag. She kept herself hidden, calling out to Sora. Sora. There are strange men here. They have killed the monster. You may return now, but be wary. Have your bow drawn.

Having heard the message clear in her mind, Sora slowed to a stop and turned around. She had sprinted quite a distance but she could still faintly see figures moving. Her shoulder was burning and stung like someone had sliced her with a knife. She pulled out another arrow and drew it back in her bow and silently made her way back. She pressed her back against a tree and peeked around it at the men and their animals. One had a boa constrictor and the other had a hyena. She stepped out from behind the tree with her bow aimed at Benny. "Who are you?"

once the beast was dead, calcifur went over to conclude that it was. he pulled his dagger out, and then returned to get benny's, tossing them over to him letting them land on the ground. he smiled at his younger friend and the snake, before freezing at the sight of a girl holding a bow in the direction of the 22 year old. he stepped off the monster and held his hands up. the hyena snarled at the leopard, his neck fur becoming more of a mohawk now. a smirk appeared on cals face and he let out a light laugh before putting his hands down. the real question is who are you? you are the one holding a bow to my friends head there. he said pointing at the bow wiping a bit of sweat off his forehead.

ben was frozen, deathly afraid of weapons held at him. as for the snake he twisted around the boy more and held his head out towards the girl. a light hiss escaping his throat and his tongue flicking in her direction. rin was a bit more bold than ben was, and would not hesitate to lunge and strike at someone threatening the two. rin! please don't make this worse.. ben said trying to get the snake to stop. once he said that he could feel the snake pull back, and slide into the backpack on him.

She lowered her bow ever so slowly, keeping it pulled tight just in case she needed to make a split second decision that resulted in shooting one of them. She glanced over at Jaeda whose fur was standing on edge just like the hyena. She bared her teeth and slowly circled around them, blood dripping from her shoulder and aching with every move though she refused to show it. Sora rotated her shoulder to help the burn in her own shoulder and she flicked her eyes back and forth between them. She was out numbered but the biggest threat appeared to be the man with the hyena. "My name is Sora Winters, and that is Jaeda." She nodded in the direction of her leopard. She narrowed her eyes at them both in distrust while Jaeda refused to look away for fear one of them would make a move against them. "Now it's your turn."

Alannis lay asleep, tangled in the branches of a tree with her loving snow leopard, Light. The two were practically bonded at the hip and because Light preferred to sleep in trees Alannis grew accustomed to it as well. Living on their own the pair only have eachother. They move frequently and keep away from contact with others. Light lay awake looking down upon the ground while her companion slept, eyes gazing about taking in every scene she can. The roar of a beast pierced her ears as she watched it lumber into sight. There was a girl and her leopard companion down below it. Oh boy. Alannis wake up!
Alannis awoke immediately to the distress of Light and the commotion of a fight. Slowly her eyes peered down at the battle below at this time two boys and their bonded animals had stumbled onto the scene. Stroking Light's fur she sighed watching on hoping they wouldn't be noticed by the others below. One shift, a roll of her shoulders, and she adjusts her hat. As the boys bring down the monster and the girl returns all six of the beings down there now gathered she looked to Light whispering "What now..?" Light chuffed slightly. To hide or to speak up is your choice. They seem friendly enough. Sighing at Light's vague answer she slipped down from the tree landing on her feet only for Light to follow close behind. There the two stood in view of the others saying nothing but simply waiting to be known.

as she lowered her bow and said her name as well as her animals benny raised an eyebrow. he noticed that cut upon the leopards shoulder. it intrigued him, though he still not dare to move. rin managed to pull his head out of the bag, holding a bottle and a roll of bandage in his tail. it was as though the two were thinking the same thing, though not speaking to each other in their minds. instantly benny opened his mouth because he didn't want calcifur to say something stupid. i am ben parker, and my companion here is rin. the other two are calcifur and stucker. he said pointing to each of them as he said their names. slowly taking the bottle and bandage from the snake. can i get some cotton pads? he thought and the snake once again disappeared in the bag, before coming back up with a few cotton pads. thank you. before he could ask the girl and leopard if they would like some medical help calcifur jumped into the conversation. standing next to the two and putting a arm on bens shoulder.

actually, i am your night in shining armor who just saved your life. cal corrected the boy, nudging him softly. yeah, cal was a bit of dunderhead and like to be rude or offensive. he also enjoyed joking around a lot. a moments later his companion was now sitting beside him, still staring at the leopard. watching her every move. though the sound of someone falling upon the earth caused him to whip around. stucker stared at the girl and the snow leopard for a second, curious as to why they decided to make an appearance. it also gained cals attention and he turned. oh, so there are more of you coming to aim weapons at my face? he said throwing up his arms and letting them fall back down.

ben rolled his eyes and squatted on the ground, setting his supplies down. he looked at the leopard and reached out his hand offering her a silent question for help. his eyes looking at the bow the girl held as well as the girl. knowing they shared the same injury. though he was determined to help the both of them.

Jaeda watched Benny curiously as he crouched down and held out a gentle hand. At the same time, she could feel Sora's feelings towards Calcifur as though they were her own. Sora found Calcifur to be an arrogant, pig-headed jerk. He was full of himself. Jaeda had taken one step towards Benny when the other girl and the snow leopard landed on the ground. She jumped back and growled. There were too many strangers here for her taste and she didn't know how to respond. "What should I do Sora? You know I don't like other people." Sora looked back and forth between all of them. "I don't know. The younger one seems to want to help us. The girl won't hurt us, but the other guy, the one with the hyena; I don't trust him. Allow the treatment, but be wary of the other man." Jaeda took slow steps towards Benny before she sat down, her tail lashing in all directions making her annoyance evident. Sora glared at Calcifur. "I don't know that girl. And I'm only going to shoot you if you do something stupid, like attack me or my animal."

The second her paws hit the ground Light instantly regretted letting Alannis make the decision. As soon as the hyena whirled towards them Light's fur bristled and she let out a low growl. Great just great. Why did I let you make the decision!? Light called to Alannis in slight distress. That gained a sigh from Alannis as her chocolate brown eyes focused on the arrogant guy who'd also turned. "Lucky for you I left my weapons up in the tree. I figured why not meet the people who woke me up." Alannis spoke in a rather annoyed tone from her lack of sleep.
Sensing the rapid decline in her human companion's mood Light lifted up on to her back paws immediately raising even above Alannis' height and rested her large clawed paws on her shoulder. It was this thing she always did to calm her partner down. A small laugh was gained from Alannis as she spoke again. "By the way i'm Alannis, my furry friend here is Light." The two companions looked over the three humans and their animals. Light spotted the boa in one boys backpack and nearly fell back on her back the only thing keeping her from doing so was Alannis. Alannis. It's a snake. Kill it. Ew, gross.

ben glared up at cal as the large leopard sat in front of him. calcifur, i feel it would be best if you don't make matters worse by talking... he said to the boy he had been traveling with. watching him as he rolled his eyes and stepped away, too watch out for more animals while ben cared for the injured one. lucky he didn't kill you.... ben joked, grabbing the bottle and twisting off the cap. this might feel funny. he continued, pouring some of the liquid into the cap and then onto the wound. he quickly grabbed a cotton pad and began to dab it on the wound gently. cleaning the blood around it as well. after that he grabbed another cotton pad and covered it in a neosporin like substance. he spread it around, and then placed the cotton pad on the wound. wrapping the bandage around her back and chest, before bringing around her shoulder and neck. he stood up and smiled. we should change that out in a few days... he finished.

cal turned toward the girl who just dropped in and smiled. well, you might want to either get back in the tree or grab your weapons. he warned, turning to benny who was putting his supplies away. stucker smells another monster coming our direction. i assume we have about an hours head start of it. he said grabbing his own bag that was on the ground. he stood in the middle of the small group and sighed. we all could use each other, he said turning towards sora. you have great weapons and most likely brains, as well as you alannis. us three also have powerful animals. he said pointing to the two girls and himself. though mr. brains over there has a snake..and the two of them come in handy when we need poision, food, or medical things. he continued feeling he should get to his point fast. so what i'm saying is, is that we should stick together. for a better chance of survival. who's with? he said looking at the three of them.

it was cheesy thing for him to do, but cal was not that amazing alone. if he were he would die, he could use the company of others whether he likes it or not. which was why he had ben, though he knew ben wasn't that great sometimes. especially when it came to monsters that could easily kill him.

Jaeda rotated her shoulder. The pain had dulled to nothing more than a slight nuisance. Sora released the tension on her bow and reached behind her to return the arrow to the quiver strapped across her back. She sent a soft smile in Ben's direction with a gentle nod of her head. "Thank you for the bandage." She made eye contact with Jaeda at the end of Cal's proposal and they ended up bantering back and forth about what to do. Jaeda was against it, still uncertain about the others, especially Cal and Stucker. On the other hand, Sora was for it because she knew that while they were strong enough to survive on their own, this area was heavy with monster activity. She crossed her arms over her chest and shifted her weight to one hip. In the end, Sora won out over her companion. Just barely. "Fine. Jaeda and I were headed towards the nearest town. It should be about 5 days travel from here if we travel at a regular pace. If we find a road, it could cut about a day off that time. The closer we get to the town the more monsters we'll encounter until we get within a couple of miles, then they'll start to fade off again."

Alannis listened to what they all had to say. The guy named Cal spoke up about retrieving her weapons and all of them banding up together. A small sigh escaped past her lips as she gave a small nod. "Light go get our things." looking to the others she gives a small nod. "We're in." Light let out a rather annoyed roar. Alannis! Where's my say in this?! Ignoring her companions objections she simply flicks her eyes to the top of the tree signaling for the snow leopard to move her lazy rump.
Snorting in disbelief Light turned and scampered up the tree in seconds knocking their gear from the branches. It all landed with a thud one back clinging, their weapons bag. Another bag fell with the rest of their stuff and that was it. Light leaped down from the high branches her paws slamming into solid ground as she straightens up. There... happy? Alannis let out a small laugh as she took one of the bags and grabbed out a large sword and sheathes it into the case hooked to her belt loop. "If anyone needs a weapon of any sort trust me. Just ask I've collected plenty."
