Annabella and Adrian
Clouds hung low in the sky, turning the world into a dark and foreboding place. Hidden by shadows and quiet as a mouse, Annabella Smith crouched. She didn't move a muscle, for fear that the lupine-like creatures would spot her. She could hear them, rustling around the corner. Looking for prey most likely. Her arms tightened around the six year old standing between her knees. Her little brother Adrian had had a close encounter with the beasts. Their own parents had turned and she had gotten there in the nic ofsmiled killing both of them to save the boy. Sure, doing so had shredded her heart and she'd cried like a baby but she had saved her brother. That had to count forsomething, right?

One of the creatures padded closer. She could hear its claws scraping against the cement. Her heart thundered in her chest as fear formed a hard knot in her belly. Bending her head close enough that her lips grazed her brother's ear, she whispered, "hide," and set him away from her. There was a hole in the wall beside her. It was just big enough for her brother to scramble through and find a hiding place in the dilapidated old building. He crawled through the hole and disappeared into the darkness beyond. The wolf scuffled closer and slowly, ever so slowly, she rose from her crouched position and drew an arrow from the sheath at her back.

Anna smiled vaguely. Her father had been big on hunting with old fashioned weapons. Spears, bows and arrows, that kind of thing. He had taught her to hunt too. Her favorite weapon was the bow. The wolf moved around the corner and she released the arrow. It landed in the wolf's neck and with a gurgle, the thing collapsed dead. Snarls rose in the air as the others passes closer. They could smell her now. Taking a deep breath, Anna stepped from around the corner and smirked. "Let's do this."
RIP JAZZY <3

Approximately one year ago, I woke up and said my final goodbyes to the best friend I have ever known. But Jasmine wasn't a human. No... Jasmine was a little tabby cat who showed me the true meaning of unconditional love. She was my muse and because of her, I still write today. RIP Jasmine Veronica. You have been missed terribly, even if we only had two years together and I will always remember you.

rescott
Silence. It rang in my ears like a distant heavy bell, constant, non-stop. It was enough to drive anyone mad. I knew better though; the silence meant safety. Silence meant no more of the claws, no more of the lunging jaws of those affected by the virus. I was lucky. It'd been two days, two long, glorious days since I had seen or heard a single one of the 'beasts', and I wasn't one of those adrenaline junkies to find a passion in hunting them, either. My father had given his life for me to have a decent chance, and I wasn't about to be so reckless with his sacrifice. Stifling a yawn from where I crouched on the balcony of a small, yet comfortable apartment building, I could watch a good portion of this side of the city.

One thing about me is the fact that I'm a runner, not a fighter. If any chance of escape is possible, I'll sure as hell take that chance before I attempt to fight the deadly maws of the changed. I knew what those vicious teeth and mindless bodies could do; I had no intentions whatsoever of facing them alone. I had established my own sense of 'home' in apartment 027-J, Hokie Apartment Complex. They were rather modest, and for one who likes to live comfortably, I'd be a fool to pass up such an amazing position. The balcony allowed for me to see for miles in nearly every direction on a sunny day; the third floor I lived on made it such that I wasn't vulnerable on the ground. I felt emotionally attatched to my home base, and took rather fond care of it.

Now, as I sat here on the balcony some three stories above the ground, wind gently toussling and caressing my face and hair, I slowly and stiffly got to my feet. I had woken nearly ten minutes ago; I needed to get out and scout for the week. I had been running low on supplies for a few days now; batteries were never so essential, and more food, of course, was always needed. Walking back into my apartment, I made my way to the backroom where I kept a few of my most-used things. Knapsacks. Weapons. Blankets. I grabbed an average sized backpack and tossed it over my shoulder, taking care to chose my weapon. I didn't have much; an old, rusted machete I had stumbled upon a few months ago lay where I tossed it in the dark corner, a pistol lay on a shelf along with a tiny silver blade. Close combat with the changed was suicide, therefor my weapons weren't of much use. I'd take the blade, anyways. Swiping it from the shelf, I tucked it into my belt before securing the door behind me, and sauntering to the door of the apartment that led downstairs, which would carry me back out to the world. Life now was basically just repitition, over and over, non-stop. Following schedules kept one sane and alive. Sauntering downstairs, I crept along to the door, taking care to pause and listen. No laboured panting, no brush of fur on the walls, no thudding footfalls. Clear. I pushed the door open, taking my first few steps outside.

aleighandro "luka" moon - infected [ not known ] - male

// mood: feeling just plain peachy. // doing: watching a girl (annabella) from afar. // tagged: annabella, adrian.

i found myself sitting on a small staircase, about 20 feet above the ground, i was on a small balcony ledge, watching as that vile-looking beast snarled at me and watched me, it's white, sharp, and jagged teeth glittered in the dim light of the street posts. i didn't make any sort of eye contact with it, afraid that it wold find where i was hiding and attack at any given notice. i let out a very soft sigh as my hand went to the swiss army knife on my belt. i also had a small pistol but i feared i would loose all my ammo on just this one beast. i winced just remembering a small cut on my arm. i looked at it, noticing it was still bleeding, and it was bleeding strongly.

it looked like something had clawed me. but in truth, i had no idea what happened. i was sleeping at the time and just woke up with it, and a stinging pain. yea, i had a headache, but i figured it was no biggy as i get those all the time. sighing i layed down on the balcony, watching the beast sniff around an area (where annabella is at the moment i presume), before picking it's head up and snarling in anger. i knew it couldn't have caught my scent, as it was looking in the opposite direction. i took that chance to jump down from the balcony and run at the beast. getting in a closer range would help increase my chances of making an accurate kill, as from afar would have it's complications - as always.

i jumped at the beast, catching it by surprise as i slashed the beast's eye, leaving it to howl in pain. i pulled out my gun before aiming carelessly and firing. the animal dropped, not making a sound besides the "thud" as it hit the cold, hard, pavement underneath it. i looked at the girl, then to the beast she had killed. tilting my head i looked at her, curiously. i wasn't sure who she was but i had seen her around. i stood up, wiping the beast's blood off my knife before sheathing it and placing it back on my belt. turning the safety on my pistol, i shoved that back into it's holster and stood up straight.

"nice kill. but who are you miss?" i asked her curiously, looking at my blood covered boots and my hand. i looked ar my arm, wrapping it with the bandanna i had around my neck. making sure i tied it good and tight. i flashed a grin before heaving a sigh. "what are you doing here?? i mean it's not safe, you've gotta know your way around here to survive." i said taking out my gun, i took the safety off my gun and shot a beast from a few feet behind her. i sighed and ran a hand though my hair, watching her with cold eyes. "that was close..." i muttered, biting my lip and wincing at the slight pain in my arm.

|| alan bouchard || infected : several months, aware ||

Growling, gunshot, and guttural noises closed in like the beat of drums, matching with his fast-beating pulse, quickly and loudly growing nearer with each passing second. As they got closer, Alan felt pain and fear coursing through his body, accompanied by the taste of blood from the back of his throat as he woke with a start. He was covered in a cold sweat, trembling and shaking from the nightmare and the dull throbbing of a migraine that had never quite let up from when he first got them long ago. Much like the bad dreams, it never really left, and seemed to get worse with time. Sitting up, he glanced outside the window, and took inventory of who and where he was, repeating the mantra in his head as if it could somehow salvage his past. "My name is Alan Bouchard, I'm in the parking lot of the Target, and no one has the time anymore."

Quickly changing clothes, Alan sneaked into the bathroom of the store and gave himself a once over, checking to make sure his nails hadn't grown too long, and that his teeth weren't overly prominent. It was hard enough to get a job doing something for people that weren't so trusting with the whole virus going on, and drawing this close to the full moon only made it a bit more obvious. The nail business was easy to take care of with a file at least, but the teeth were not so easy, even with the stoic personality he was trying to pull. He'd been infected pretty early on, and though he split as soon as the symptoms started to ease up enough to get out of town, he'd tried to keep close records of what went on as a sort of last stand for his humanity.

Hearing the the scrabbling of overgrown claws on the slick store tile, Alan turned, the distinct smell of wet dog hitting him before he heard the disjointed baying of what he hesitated to call even tentatively kin, and hoped that his scent would blend similarly enough with their own to be ignored. Hand falling on the handle of the short hunting knife strapped to his belt, he prepared himself for the fight, though he wasn't sure how the less controlled victims would respond to him, being what he was. He hadn't had to force a change since the virus' more flu-like symptoms had eased up, and he'd had more control over them aside from the full moons. Though the physical pain and guilt of shifting still burned fresh in his mind, he wouldn't hesitate if things got heated and he had to face the beasts outside.

Annabella and Adrian
°A Sister's Love is an Unbreakable Bond that will Follow Her to the Grave°

Two more of the creatures followed the path of the first. It was rare... seeing packs like this. Because they were wolves it was natural to form packs but usually this was four wolves. She was at an advantage with her bow. They couldn't get on her before she had an arrow placed fatally in their body. She was nearly finished when the voice spoke behind her. It was a masculine voice, deeper than Adrian's which meant he wasn't a kid. She spun around, keeping her bow loaded but the arrow tip pointing down. It was protection... and a warning. "Who I am doesn't really matter," she replied, dropping her gaze to the creature at his feet. She hadn't even noticed the gunshot. A stupid and potentially dangerous mistake. His gun lifted again and fired, but the bullet didn't hit her. There was a yelp and the thud of a body and she turned and looked at the wolf. Great, he was a distraction. Glancing around quickly, she confirmed they were alone and let out a shrill whistle. Two seconds later Adrian appeared and scampered over to her. "To answer your question, my brother and I are just passing through." She said, smoothing Adrian's blond hair away from his face. "Who are you?"

I took a step foreward when she put her arrow down but her bow in hand. I narrowed my eyes, watching her with a steady gaze. ''Of course it matters.'' I retorted, biting my lip in slight agitation. I looked around, seeing no one around. I grinned at her, throwing my head back in a howl of laughter. ''Passing through?? Where are you heading? To your death? Funny.'' I snickered, taking afew steps closer to her and her brother. I took out my gun and aimed it from one to the Other. ''I suggest you watch where your going. You and your brother alike. I've got a place not to far from here where you can stay. For a time anyway.'' I suggested, grinning once again. I turned to look at the beast I had killed. Shaking my head slowly, I turned back to them. ''Well, taking up my offer of food, water and shelter? Or no.'' I asked again throwing my hood over my face, and a slow smile shaping my lips.

Annabella and Adrian
°A Sister is both your Mirror and your Opposite °
Annabella stiffened and jerked her brother behind her the second the gun came out. Body poised in a fight or flight manner, she regarded him with the wariness one might show a rabid animal they accidentally stumbled upon. Adrian was clutching her leg now. In the long run, this would hinder her movement if she needed to react quickly but she couldn't turn away from the boy before her to pry him off either. So she let him be and glared at the unknown man, hands tightening instinctively on the bow and arrow.

"We don't want any trouble. Besides for all I know you could be one of them." She jerked her head towards the lupine bodies scattered around them. "Some of them can appear almost human at times... and you are the one pointing your weapon." She nudged Adrian with her toe, a movement few would identify as a signal unless they were watching very closely. The child's grip loosened and he edged backwards, careful to keep Anna directly between him and the gun.

The plan was that Anna would distract him until Adrian was safely hidden and then she would attempt to disarm him without getting shot in the process. A well placed arrow to the hand holding the gun would disarm him without killing him. "Despite your seemingly sexist assumptions I can handle myself and wouldn't have been put in the position of needing help had you not distracted me." She continued, watching Adrian edge further back from the corner of her eye.

// mood: itchin' for a fight. // doing: oh, being a scatter-brained caterwauling idiot i suppose. // tagged: annabella, adrian.

i laughed, a cold-hearted one at that. "sure, i may be the one pointing the weapon. but do you honestly thing that i'm going to shoot both of you?" i asked her, before shaking my head at returning the glare. "no, after i just saved you more like." i bit out, taking the ammo from the gun and placing it in my pocket before aiming, and firing. of course nothing came out. it just clicked, as i had taken the firing pin out of it. "even as intimidating as i look, i won't hurt you." i said, placing the pin back in my gun and returning the weapon back to it's holster.

i chuckled softly, as i heard her response. "distracting you? as if. if i were "distracting" you -" i started making air quotes and i placed my hands on my hips, grinning at her. " - would you be standing here bickering with me, or would you be fighting with a beast? huh? tell me that." i bit out, taking a step froward. i noticed that her brother was backing away. "fine, run. but when you come to me looking for a place to go, good luck getting it." i said, turning on my heal, and walking towards an alleyway.

i loaded my gun and aimed carelessly behind me. using a reflective window as my guide. i aimed for her brother's shoulder. before grinning, and pulling the trigger. i was satisfied when i had noticed it hit. but if it exited or stayed i didn't know. taking off down the street, i veered off into an alley. disappearing from view, leaving my evil and cold-hearted laugh to echo for some moments past. i moved quickly through the dark alleyway, before coming across a small entryway in a nearby building. crawling through it, i moved through the building. i was alert and on the look-out for any beasts that might have wandered into my "zone".

Name ; Kassidia Graz
Pronunciation ; Case I'd Dye Ah / Grass
Nickname ; Kacey, Kace
Age ; 21
Gender ; Female
Human or Victim ; Human
Background & Accent ; Spanish from great, great grandparents and down. Spanish accent
Personality ; Silly, Random, Smart, Funny. Kacey is a very kind person, she is very smart actually
but people take it for granted once they find out she has A.D.H.D. She hates getting babied when
people find out, so she also hates when people who know tell others. Kacey is very determined, she
doesn't like getting help very often. Often, when Kacey says know, you go with pretending she said
yes instead, because even though she won't admit it, half the stuff she says usually comes out of
hatred.
History ; Kacey's parents split up when she was 13. Her mother wasn't right in enough of her mind to
take care of Kacey anymore so Kacey left Barcelona to America to live with her older brother, who had
become a doctor to deal with viruses like this. Kacey grew up wanting to be a paramedic. Kacey broke
her arm falling out of a second story window into the grass below when she leaned on the screen and
it popped out at 19. Now she has a double jointed elbow on her left arm. When the virus rose Kacey
fled with her brother to the country side but painfully watched him pass away with the virus.
Description ; 5.4ft tall, 120lbs. Long black/brown hair, big brown eyes, snow white skin. She seems to
have naturally blushed cheeks, with no freckles at all. Kacey's birthmark is a faint brown mark on her
left wrist that goes half way around like a bracelet but stops when you get to the top of her wrist.
Likes and Dislikes ; She doesn't like show offs, fire, the infected, germs, sickness and seeing others in pain or illness.
Other ; Lupin ; Virus X
