Evangeline was about to reply to Kai and Val when Aeron blasted into the library. He didn't look very happy. Evan almost felt bad for yelling at him for so long on the balcony until he approached her in a very angry manner. Raising her head and keeping her chin high, she glared at Prince Aeron, hearing him speak with a touch of impatience. Ignoring his jibes, Evangeline felt guilt rise up in her chest. She felt sick that she had been so stupid, just storming out in anger and allowing Alvere to suffer. It wasn't his fault the prince was such a... freak, and she desperately did not want the Royal Guard soldier to die. His safety was her responsibility, considering he was a guest in her and her parents' castle, so Evangeline was spurred into action by Aeron, however much she disliked him in that moment.
"Kai and Val, please find Lady Adela. I'll go with Aeron and look after Alvere. If Prince Aeron didn't bring him here, I doubt Alvere is in much of a condition to be moved. We'll be on the balcony," Evangeline glanced at Prince Aeron and gently touched his wrist, hoping he wouldn't be too angry with her. In an undertone, she said very quietly so that her companions wouldn't hear, "I'm sorry, for a lot of things." Turning to leave the library, she didn't bother to check and see if Prince Aeron would follow her.

Leonidas was feeling pretty tired. After all, it had been a long ride to Istoth. He had been given a horse, but had not been permitted to ride in a carriage. Those were reserved for the nobles, while Leo was only a foot-soldier. In fact, he shouldn't even be in Istoth, but Adela, his best friend since childhood, had requested that he be her bodyguard during her stay here. A royal lady of the Seulghem court, there was a large gap between the two now, as Lady Adela had a very different rank from Leonidas. Of course, he had vowed to become a knight one day, but for now, he was still just a regular soldier, turned into an impromptu guard by his friend.
He was standing outside of Lady Adela's room, holding back a few yawns to look as professional as possible. Leonidas was very tempted to enter her room and just talk with her, since they hadn't socialized in a while, but that probably wouldn't be very bodyguard-like. Still, at this point, Leonidas didn't really care. Considering they had known each other for years, Leo doubted Adela would care. He just hoped she wasn't changing or anything, because that would make the chivalrous and unassuming soldier extremely embarrassed.
Knocking on his friend's door, he asked in a low undertone, "Are you naked? If not, I'll come in. If you are, I can just, leave, or something." Realizing that was a really very stupid question, Leo banged his head against the door, exasperated with himself. Luckily for him, Adela was probably used to his stupid moments by now, considering she had had to tolerate them for a while, more than a dozen years. "Sorry, that was stupid of me. Um, can I just come in? Is that okay?"

♚((norm, hopefully it's all right that I have Leo as Adela's guard. If not, I can change that. c:))

Aeron listened to what Kai had to say, forcing himself to heed the man's words. The guard spoke the truth of course. The best way to help Alvere was for them all to put their differences aside and work together. Teamwork. A word Aeron disliked to say the very least. He was about to respond when Evangeline spoke up. It seemed she wanted to go with him to Alvere. That was not what Aeron had expected. Still, he nodded his response.
The Princess gently touched his wrist as she turned, and he only just caught her words. An apology. Her whisper was sincere, and caused a momentary glimmer of confusion to cross Aeron's features. A small part of him wanted to smirk in victory, but it was quickly silenced by the rest of his thoughts. It was he who should be apologising for his behaviour. They were in this whole situation because of him in the first place. Strangely, it wasn't something he was very proud of. Aeron nodded to Kai and Valoria before turning and following after the Princess. Once they were out in the corridor and the door had shut behind them, Aeron strode faster, reaching out so his fingers slipped around Evan's wrist. Gently, he pulled her to face him, forcing his eyes to meet hers. His hand remained, a little firmly, around her wrist, "Look, you have nothing to be sorry for. I was the one who ruined the banquet. I stabbed Alvere. I insulted you...probably more than once." he paused. The easiest way for them to cooperate would be to clear the air, "So, I'm sorry." Admitting he was sorry was not something that often crossed Aeron's lips; it meant facing the fact that he was in the wrong. Releasing Evan's wrist, Aeron gestured down the corridor, "Lead the way. I'm completely lost. Your castle is like a labyrinth and none of your staff would stop to give me directions. I wonder why that could be?" He offered a small half-smile.

THE ONLY THING WE HAVE TO FEAR IS FEAR ITSELF-----THE ONLY THING WE HAVE TO FEAR IS FEAR ITSELF
THE ONLY THING WE HAVE TO FEAR IS FEAR ITSELF-----THE ONLY THING WE HAVE TO FEAR IS FEAR ITSELF
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________The journey over here was quite relaxing actually, since she had been working non-stop healing wounded soldiers from the war. It was hard-work using magic that much, a heavy price to pay for her own energy and will-power. The lady had always been expected to grow up to be a noble and some would say "clean" woman of the high court, but somethings don't turn out how they are supposed to. Adela had spent most of her childhood out playing in the forest with stable boys, getting dirty and such. It had just been the way she liked to be (a high disappointment to her parents). Till this day she has enjoyed being in a loose tunic much more than a itchy, uncomfortable dress that was three sizes to small.
Lady Adela was finishing up getting dressed in a soft, fitting sized dark green dress that was more to her pleasure. Her mother had given up the fact that she was going to have a daughter that acted like a true, snobby lady whom spent her days in horrible heat of the most disgusting dresses ever. She brushed her hair until her thick, dark brunette locks were silky and smooth. That was when she heard a light knocking on her door then the familiar tone of her best-friend, Leonidas. The lady chuckled at his comment aloud, blushing lightly to herself; looking down in amusement. "I'm completely dressed, Leo. You can come in."Adela sounded very relaxed to be in his presence because he was certainly the only one she could truly trust. She sauntered over to her large wooden door and opened in with a rough pull. "Why are you being so jumpy? She teased, playfully fisting his shoulder.

Eregon watched her closely, his tongue flicking nervously as he leaned back, his pupils dilating, growing almost over his iris. I am sssssorry if I have ssssssscared you....I believe you have not been to Black Marsssshhhh? Or have sssseen a Argonian before....Pardon me, misssssss. The words rolled off his tongue in a smooth, and calm voice, though you could see he was tense and mostly frightened since he had only come with a dagger on his belt. The reptile bowed his head respectfully, and turned his mare slowly toward Istoth, out of the corner of his eyes looking at the Elf, much out of curiosity then out of fright that she would attack him when he was not looking. She looked tired, much like him, he supposed, but he was in much better shape to battle then she was.

She eyed him slightly, and raised a brow as well. Never before has she heard of such a species. What is this Argonian creature doing so far from the marsh as well. At the moment, everything about him made her shudder, and feel like he was a danger. But she sheathed her sword and winced lightly. She couldn't fight this man, even if she tried. He most likely would've taken her down. It is a miracle he hasn't yet.
A sighed escaped her lips as she clenched the reigns of her horse. "What business do you have in Istoth?" she asked glaring over at him. She then turned on her seat, and eyed the path that led away from the kingdom. She must get to her next assignment to receive the pay. But she had a feeling it was too late anyways.

Val didn't bow as she normally would when Aeron entered the library, mostly because it seemed out of place. She listened to the banter between the two Royals, finding it hard to suppress a smile. She knew a cute couple when she saw one. However, now wasn't the time for such thoughts. Her and Kai needed to find Lady Adela.
Adela was nice, but Val hadn't seen her much recently. Despite her frequent visits to the healer's ward, she didn't often come in with wounds. Her affliction left her to the care of healers who dealt with long-term illnesses. Outside of the medical field, Val didn't see much of the strong-willed healer.
"We'll find her as soon as possible," she replied to Evangeline. Once the two royals left, Val turned to Kai. "Do you think Adela's room is near mine? Or would she be staying with the mages?" Frowning, the redhead walked to the bookshelves. Locating a book on the castle, she pulled it off the shelf. Setting it down on the desk so Kai could see it too, she opened to the correct maps.
"It would be the most time-efficient if we walked down this hall here, and then took a left here," Val pointed to the location on the map, "but this map is a couple decades old. Is it accurate, or do you know a better way?"

After a moment, Evan spoke. While he didn't like the idea of Evan going back with Aeron, he pushed aside his differences in favor of trying to help Alvere. Kai thought for a moment, moving to join Val. He smiled slightly. He knew the castle like the back of his hand, but didn't say anything as he glanced until she was done. "It is still rather accurate, though it doesn't show back hallways. Those wouldn't be of any help, however, and the route you've found is correct. Let's hurry." He moved from the table and opened the doors, stepping out and holding it open for Val to follow.
After leaving the library, Kai walked quickly. He navigated the castle with practiced ease, his feet gliding nearly silently over the carpet. It only took a few minutes to reach the healer's area, and Kai immediately set out to looking for this Lady Adela. The only person that he saw, however, was a guard. He was speaking to someone that just opened a door, and Kai headed over. "I don't mean to intrude, but someone has been injured and is in desperate need of a healer. I am looking for Lady Adela?"

Princess Evangeline was concentrating on making her way through the castle to get to Alvere. She desperately hoped he wasn't dead, but that was improbable. It had just been a stab to the arm, right? It shouldn't have been that bad, but maybe it bled a lot. She just really did not know anymore, so worry was coursing through Evangeline like ice-cold fire in her veins.
It was very unexpected when Prince Aeron stopped her. She was angry and annoyed at first, wondering why he was stalling when they should be tending to Alvere right now, but she shut her mouth abruptly, the fire fading from her gaze as she met his striking blue eyes. She noticed his hands around her wrist, tried hard not to blush, and held his gaze strongly. When he apologized, insisting that she didn't have to say she was sorry to him, Evangeline couldn't help but chuckle dryly, raising an eyebrow. She felt grateful, to be honest, that Aeron was swallowing his pride for once. And she couldn't deny that he had insulted her more than once, but in that moment, she didn't care. It just felt nice to be at peace with the prince. She just didn't know for how long, considering how bipolar their rocky friendship seemed to be. And friendship was an overstatement, considering how stressful talking to the man was. Any friend wouldn't cause Evangeline so much unhappiness and inner turmoil, but maybe he wasn't quite a friend yet. Truthfully, Evangeline had no idea what Aeron was to her, but at the very least, they were friendly acquaintances. Perhaps the treaty would alleviate some of the tension between the two. But tension was all she could taste in her mouth right now, so close to the prince, with him speaking and acting so gently. Shaking her head, Evangeline cleared her thoughts immediately. "Don't apologize right now, Prince. Talk to me later when Alvere is safe," Letting out a soft breath, Evangeline took a chance and intertwined his fingers with his in a comforting way, returning his smile. Quickly letting go, Evangeline turned around and began to run, sprinting up the stairs and blasting open the doors of the balcony. "Alvere!"
Evan knelt down next to the injured man, examining his injury. It was still bleeding, so she ripped a piece of her dress off, not caring about her appearance or the probably expensive piece of clothing. Tying it firmly around the wound, she hoped that would at least help stifle the bleeding. The cloth wasn't nearly thick or absorbent enough to stop it completely, so she had to get him to a healer right away. "I don't think I can move him. Do you want me to go look for Lady Adela and Kai, or do you want to go yourself?" Evangeline asked Aeron, not looking up at him, instead focusing on Alvere.

Leonidas grinned crookedly and laughed, gazing and watching as Adela opened the door, pulling him inside while fisting at his shoulder. Feeling so at ease around his best friend, Leo shook his shaggy mess of curls out of his eyes, deciding that he would have to get it cut later. But for now, he was content, standing with Adela. Just being around her made him feel loads better, so he relaxed, calming down. While she teased him, Leo just shrugged and smiled, laughing along with her, saying, "I'm not jumpy. I'm just naturally hyper,"
Leonidas had just been about to ask her if she wanted to go for a stroll with him around the castle, to just explore together like they used to when they were little, when they interrupted. Leonidas saw a guard from Istoth approach him. Leo grew a tiny bit suspicious, his hand straying to his sword, a habit of his. He only got more nervous when Kai asked for Lady Adela. Turning to his friend, Leonidas furrowed his brow. As soon as the guard mentioned someone injured, he knew that Adela would want to go help them. "Where are they?" Leo asked the guard. Turning to Adela, he murmured, "I'm going with you," decisively, like there was no debate. There really wasn't; Leonidas would follow Adela to the ends of the earth to keep her safe.

THE ONLY THING WE HAVE TO FEAR IS FEAR ITSELF-----THE ONLY THING WE HAVE TO FEAR IS FEAR ITSELF
THE ONLY THING WE HAVE TO FEAR IS FEAR ITSELF-----THE ONLY THING WE HAVE TO FEAR IS FEAR ITSELF
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________The grin on her face grew bigger as Leo kept talking to her. He always knew how to cheer her up; even when she was in the worst of moods. Lady Adela kept her smile when a stranger waltzed in and asked for her. "I'm here." She paused, furrowing her brow in question. Once he had explained it all she nodded, turning on her heel and grabbing the glass of pure water on the small end table behind her. The Lady grabbed her medicine bag also, in which she always carries with her. Adela winked at Leo. "I would assume you are coming anyways." After he comment about coming with her she blushed slightly knowing why, and scampered out the door and down the hallway. She made her way up the stair case and onto the balcony where the injured man was laying with a lovely looking girl hovering over him. "Excuse me m'lady, but I need space to get to him." Her tone was soft and gentle, like a streams. It was then she realized that it was Princess Evan. Not making any notice that she was slow enough to not realize the beloved Princess on site she lent down next to the injured man. "Tell me exactly what happened and whom decided to stab you in the arm with a kitchen knife." Adela could tell any wound on site, it was just a knack she had. She roughly ripped open his shirt where the crimson cut laid and without a second thought, poured the icy cold water all over the wound, washing most of the new and old blood away. After that was done she leaned back on her legs and rolled her shoulders. "Hold still, this might sting a little bit." She paused and glanced at the man. "Or a lot..." Lady Adela teased him, good-heartedly. She hovered her hands close to the ozzing wound, shutting her eyes tightly, and concentrating when a soft yellow light expanded from her hands and quickly covered his bleeding arm. A few horribly tiring long minutes later she huffed a massive sigh and pulled away. "His arm should feel back to normal in a few hours."

Eregon turned his head a bit, looking at her with a slight glare, though there was really no telling what expression was on his face. I am a scout and trader. I' following the Envoy that is meeting for the peace treaty, and see if I can get a cheap-- I mean good trade from the Istoth citizens. Eregon said back, pushing his mare into a lope. If this, Belegeth wanted to talk, she'd better start following him. The jet black mare snorted, as if showing the emotion Eregon was feeling, picking up the speed as the Argonian's legs tightened around her ribs. The reptile humanoid steered the mare to the left as he entered the city, slowing to a trot as they disappeared into the crowds.

ALVERE.
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
[ male ] [ seulghem ] [ tagged: aeron, evan adela, leo ]
Alvere didn't know how long he was there, laying on the floor with the fingers of his right hand wrapped loosely around one of the bars of the balcony and fighting the feeling of drifting off and sleeping. If he gave in, if he fell unconscious, he could very well die. It sounded stupid, it sounded unlikely, but it was the truth and, in all honesty, Alvere wasn't ready to die yet. He had to stay alive, he had more years to serve the royal family. He had more experience to gain, he had lives to save and..... if the heirs of both kingdoms ever did end up getting married to cement the peace treaty, the Royal Guard wanted to be there to see it. What if they had children too? He wanted to see them, he wanted to - childishly - play with them. He couldn't do that if he died from shock after his best friend accidentally stabbed him in the arm. Besides, he couldn't believe Aeron would be very happy.
Suddenly ice cold water splashed across his arm. The chill caused his skin to erupt in goosebumps. He started shivering violently as he strained to hear the words the woman uttered. It had to be a woman: Aeron wouldn't have a clue what to do and the hands on his arm were soft. Then there was pain, greater pain than when he had been stabbed in the first place, and it took over his entire body. Alvere felt like he was on fire, he felt like his limps were going to burn off, he felt like he was going to be reduce to a pile of ashes on the floor.
His breaths rattled as the pain finally stopped. Forcing his heavy eyelids to open - and glad that the feeling of puking was finally gone - Alvere turned to see a woman of his own Kingdom. She looked exhausted and he guessed she must have been the one to heal him. "Lady Adela?" He rasped, pushing himself into a sitting position. His arm still hurt, but it was no where as bad as before. He could at least think straight now. But sitting upright caused a series of hollow, chesty coughs. "Water, please...." Alvere didn't want to drink wine, not when he'd lost so much blood.
