══════════╝ "Why would you take me hostage," Elizabeth told him, watching the healer carefully again. Taking a deep breath, she gazed to the cell door. A smirk slowly stretched across her face. Oh, what fools, what imbeciles! They still had not taken away her weapons and were healing her at that very moment. There would be no need to worry about the healer getting in her way, only the man whom appeared to be a guard. The moment that they would go to open the door and exit, she'd bolt for it. She wiped away her sly expression and replaced it were a darker, colder one again.
"Would you honestly think that Istoth would want me back? I fear that they'd rather have Seulghem keep me so that I could corrupt their economy," she commented, chewing on her lip lightly after she spoke. Her hands flexed as she stretched them out a bit while holding onto her blouse, and all her weight shifted to one leg to where her hip popped out. For a young girl, she was quite matured. Perhaps it was because of her lifestyle, or not. Whatever it truly was was unknown to her.

Alvere smirked and shook his head. She wouldn't be able to see the smirk, but she might be able to see him shake his head at her comments. She looked young, and now she was asking impish questions, questions that only a child would ask. Normally, at being asked such a question - hostages tended to ask very often why they had been taken - Alvere would turn around, move closer, and tell them in a low, solid voice. However, he suspected that, if he got much closer, she'd attempt to punch him and he refused to gain another injury.
"Why you?" He repeated, the humour evident in his voice. The healer was rustling again in his bag, and the sound of a cork being pulled from a bottle told him that he was applying a balm of sorts. "Because, you let slip a very important detail. Istoth are going to pay for their most wanted criminal, just so they can throw her in their own jail before she is executed." His tone now was nonchalant as he spoke, as if her death did not bother him. Now he could hear the healer bandaging up the wound, and before long the youth joined his side. Turning around, Alvere quickly unhooked his cloak and threw it over his shoulder.
"Now, we'll be leaving you and I expect that I'll be back later, for some.... interrogation." He herded the healer towards the door and opened it just a crack so the younger man could slip through.

══════════╝ Elizabeth watched the healer finished up while her ears tuned into what the man had to say. "I except that you'll find yourself- let's say- unavailable for any sort of interrogation later," she murmured quietly, smoothing down her blouse. Her fingers curled into a ball.
A swift punch to the jaw, and she had grabbed him by his armor, then slung him backwards into the cell. "I'd love to stay in chat, but i have more important things to do," she told him in a sly, yet cold matter, after exiting the cell and shutting the door on him. After locking it, she gazed around quietly, making sure no one was coming. It appeared that the healer had run off, and no one else seemed to be around.
Perhaps I should save the others.. Then again, they would have me locked up as well, Elizabeth thought, and carefully began to make her way through the prison, slinking in the shadows like a predator stalking their prey.

Before he knew what was happening, and only moments after the young healer had exited the cell, a fist slammed into his unprotected jaw and pain erupted like a wildfire. And then, without having time to react, he was yanked backwards by his armour and his back slammed into the cold stone wall. The Royal Guard wobbled, his balance thrown off, and stars clouded his vision. He could hear the creaking of the rusty hinges as the door closed and by the time he got over to it, it was firmly shut. Stupid door seemed to have jammed, which meant the keys hanging from his belt would be no good - even if he could have somehow unlocked it.
Alvere swore loudly and vehemently, wrapping his hands around the icy bars. He yanked on them a few times to create a noise, but it was unlikely that anyone would think it was him. So, after hanging his head and drawing in a triplet of deep, calming breaths, Alvere pressed his forehead against the bars and called out. There should be a guard nearby: if his memory proved correct, it was a man older than himself, bearing the name of Richardson. Thus, Alvere called the name out and a man came forth from the shadows. He was certainly getting on for a soldier, with a face creased with many wrinkles. The Royal Guard quickly explained the situation and passed the keys through the tiny gap in the bars. A few minutes later, after directing his elder on which key to use in case the lock had fixed, he was out and he quickly asked if he had seen a younger, blonde-haired female rushing down the hallways. She would not know where she was going and it should have been very simple to find her.
So Alvere took off down the hallway, sword in hand. The healer had long since disappeared and he could not see Aeron. He moved fast, for he knew these darkened hallways like the hallways of the castle above. But he remained silent, setting each booted foot down carefully with his eyes narrowed to focus his vision. His jawline ached and his skin felt raw where his armour had rubbed through his clothes. But this was a natural uncomfort for a soldier and he pushed on, searching the inky blackness for a head of blonde hair.

══════════╝ Oh, this was worth living for. The rush, the excitement, the pumping of adrenaline into every individual vein. It was fun, yet she had to keep her head until she won the game of cat and mouse. Dashing through the halls, she searched for any light that would not belong to torch light. However, she had not been in the best of shape when she was brought down here. Elizabeth could not quite remember how many turns they had gone through, nor how many minutes it took to get to her cell upon descending down into the dankness of this prison.
Stopping for a moment to catch her breath, her eyes searched the walls and ceiling. She felt a breeze coming at her from above, and gazed in its direction. There upon the wall was a hole, carved out and guarded with bars. Narrowing her eyes, she assumed it must of led to somewhere. Perhaps a drainage pipe from some room above her. Blast it to her height, however, for she had a very hard time reaching it. It took a few jumps to reach a bar, and luckily for her, under the sudden weight she had put on it, it broke. Her breathing starting to slow, the young girl held the bar in her hand, looking back over her shoulder. The sound of footsteps could be heard now.
Jumping up again, she caught another bar with her hand and pulled herself up, being able to fit in the gap she had created. She had been correct about it being a sort of drainage pipe, for the floor was damp, but there wasn't any sort of flowing water in it. It was just big enough to half way stand up. Quickly, she replaced the bar as best as she could, for she had been holding onto it, and took off as fast as she could down the pipe. Being doubled over wasn't quite the easiest way to make your getaway.

◣--------------------◢
What in the name of their sweet Gods was that clattering noise? It pounded against his eardrums, the harsh sound of thick metal bouncing off of solid stone, and it caused the soldier to pause. If he had been an animal of any sort, his ears would have pricked forwards and his tail would have stilled. In fact, Alvere wished he was a shifter, for then he might have been able to shift into something like a tiger, with a long muscular body, keen eyes and perfect hearing. He would have been able to stalk his prey in total silence and the girl would never had know he was coming until his claws caught her flesh and his jaws held her still, forcing her into a fear-induced stillness. Alas, Alvere was a human and he could do nothing of the sort except hunt her the best he could, for this was now truly a game of cat and mouse and he certainly was the cat.
Then he was running. She had to have found an exit with a sound like that and there was now way he was letting her get away. He wouldn't hear the end of it: he'd be disgraced and stripped of his rank; he would be unable to get himself a job and he's have to survive as a beggar on the streets, and that was definitely something the Royal Guard did not want to face. Imagine, spending every single day with your once-friends walking by, laughing at your fall. Imagine, having to curl up in a filthy gutter with nothing to rags to keep you warm. Imagine, having to fight for every scrap of food like rabid dogs. Alvere would not be reduced to that.
A breeze above his head. He looked upwards, and saw the bars were broken, and set in the wrong direction. That drainage pipe lead only in one direction, towards the sewage pits for every piece of waste you could think of from the Palace. His speed and pace increased as Alvere ran. He did not care if the female somewhere above him could hear his echoing foot falls. She would be caught and bound much more securely, and all her weapons would be taken from her. For good measure she would not be fed - Alvere half wished that they had not treated her. She was obviously not grateful and as such did not deserve their sympathy.
Corners loomed before his vision and a headache began to grow in his skull, pushing and thumping against the inside of his skull. Somewhere along the way as he neared his destination he called for some foot soldiers, for some guards, for some other Royal Guards. Servants at the pits must have heard because by the time he skidded onto the grime-coated bank, there was a group of ten - three foot soldiers, four guards and three Royal Guards. The horrible smell caught in his nose and made him gip and gag: he had to force himself to swallow down the urge and he had to square his shoulders. Quick, quiet orders were give to circle around the drain opening - it was rather large and had leads from just about every single bathroom or sink when dirty water from buckets were poured down. They stood so that they would not be seen from the inside, and Alvere also stood to the side. He would step in at the last moment.

Who are you to ask anything about me? Why should I tell you, an anonymous passerby? For there isn't anything interesting about me, or my past. Even giving you so much as my name would be all too much power for you to possess.
➳ Meet Adelaide. Adelaide Maci, if you are fond of formal introductions. She usually just goes by Addie, but she only responds to this when her closest friends address her in this way. Not like she has many. She is a vagabond, a nomad of sorts, so what time does one have to make friends when you're on the run? She doesn't care for either one of the groups at war, and lacks political knowledge for such matters, as if she would actually take notice. Adelaide is on the run for many reasons, all not so pleasant. But we'd need to delve into her past to fully understand.
Addie was born on a small farm in Istoth long ago to a happily wed couple with a very strong bond, the father a shapeshifter and farmer, and the mother a human and apothecary. She was taught to specialize in the care of the livestock on their plot of land, mostly sheep and chickens. All was well, that is, until her 15th birthday hit. Around that time, her father came home late from the market one night to find his wife cheating on him with another man. His yells of rage spanned up to their daughter's room in the loft and she watched from above as her father drove her mother and her lover out of the house, threatening to transform into his true form if they didn't. She had never been exposed to it, so the information on his other form is still oblivious to her today. But the girl had a very strong connection to her mother, and she protested her father's actions. Alas, the woman was already long gone, never to be seen again. Their father-daughter relationship was shattered, not like they were close in the first place. She noticed that he seemed to be less and less into his work anymore and more angry at, well, pretty much everything. It seemed that he really did love his wife also, and he, too, regretted kicking her out. And he seemed to be his sane mind by one point, for heavens and the Gods above know why, because he started drinking more and started being verbally abusive to her, telling her that she shouldn't have been born and that she had caused her mother's leaving. And about two years later, by the time he started threatening to chase her out as well, she simply ran away from her troubles.
You see, this pushed her in the direction that she is in now. She had adept survival skills, especially in a forested terrain, thanks to her years built up centered on being on the move. She has her heart set on building up as much money as she can to move to another realm, even going to stealing and bartering to get it, wanting to be no where near her past and any sentimental reminders of it.
On the outside, Adelaide seems rather fiery and hostile, which is most of what you will really hear from her. That is, if you never get close to her. It's not easy, but if you actually did somehow get past her emotional walls, she is actually rather shy and insecure. She loves to have the upper hand in a conversation, and when she isn't angered, she is rather quiet and pessimistic, giving off a cold aura to passersby. Superstitious and calculating, she tends to steer clear of others and doesn't speak unless spoken to, as she is a better listener than anything.

══════════╝ "Bloody Seulghem. Bloody everything," Elizabeth muttered to herself quietly as she slowly made her way down the pipe. She had gone to the side now, the left side to be exact. If the man had somehow tracked her, or anyone else, they'd be less likely to see her if she was pressed up against the wall. Squinting, she could make out a faint, discoloration of the light, That must be the end, she thought, hastening her speed.
She hadn't quite estimated the cleverness of Seulghem's men correctly, however. She would of expected them to be idiots and follow up from behind, not sneak their way away. The girl had, though, been careful about exiting the pipe. By the time she had stuck her head out, however, it was too late to hide. Men on both sides, and one of them was familiar. Cursing to herself under her breath, she bolted, driving an elbow into one of the men and pushing them out of her way. One, however, snatched her up and she felt herself unable to break free from his grip. Angrily she began to toss and turn, doing her best to get away.(Accepted.)

They waited for what, five minutes? Ten minutes? He wasn't sure, but eventually the thief stuck her head out of the pipe and that was it, she was caught. The cat had stalked his prey and now he had her grasped between his claws, but he would not deliver the killing bite. Much more fun to watch her squirm. In all honesty, she had punched one of the foot soldiers and tried to push through the others, but another Royal Guard had gripped her and was now holding her as she tossed about next to his torso. A jerk of his head and one of the guards came forwards, holding a very long length of rope around his shoulder. Silently, he gave another man one of his knives and they began to cut pieces from the rope that could be used to bind the thief and hostage while Alvere stepped closer, a small grin on his face.
"Oh, did the little thief think she could get away?" He taunted in a cooing tone, and used his right index finger to push some hair from her face to look at her more clearly. "Did the hellcat think that she would be able to return and live happily ever after back in Istoth?" The other hand drifted downwards, and found the knife on her belt. He quickly removed it and placed it in his own belt: an extra weapon could never go amiss. This was quite amusing now, as he watched her attempt to escape from the other Royal Guard. Unfortunately for her, he was one of the strongest in the whole army, with beefed-up arms that seemed to be a thick as Alvere chest was wide. There was no way she would be getting out of his grip.
"Now, you little minx, stopped wriggling or you'll open that wound again," dark eyes flickered down to her abdomen to check if there was any blood. His voice had suddenly softened, even if only the slightest bit, but it caused Alvere to clear his throat, "and then the master healer's work will have all been in vain. I'll have you know that we don't often get the master healers in to treat out hostages: they're normally reserved for the Royal Family only, so be grateful." Now he stepped back as the foot soldier and the guard began to tie her legs together. She'd be bound completely, all up her legs, all down her arms, her weapons completely removed. Guards would be stationed constantly at her cell and she would receive no food that night. "Tell me, what other weapons do you have upon your person?"

Leonidas raised an eyebrow when the elf, now he knew her to be called Beinethiel, scoffed and looked at him. He was surprised when she smiled at him, so surprised that he almost smiled back at her. Almost. Keeping a straight face, Leonidas raised an eyebrow, his blue-green eyes sharp and observant. "Beinethiel, eh? Well, Miss Beinethiel, looks like your healers are here. They're about to fix my mistake, I see."
Leonidas stepped back while the master healers entered her cell. He kept an eye on them while they worked, using magic to heal her two arrow wounds quickly. Normally, their magical master healers weren't used for hostages, but Leonidas figured that the prince would want to have the prisoners be nice and healthy so that they could survive any torturing. Blinking, Leonidas kept a hand on his sword, in case Beinethiel tried to make a run for it while the master healers helped her. He just hoped the proud and capable elf wouldn't try to strangle them or something. Master healers took a while to train, after all, and that would just be a waste of an intelligent and useful life.
