- xxxxFreida Ashworth wasn't the most punctual camper, but she did have a thing for punctuality. Today however was an exception. With her silky chestnut hair all rumpled and binded loosely with a scarlet scrunchy, the petite, svelte girl arrived at Evergreen Reservation fifteen minutes late. Much to her chagrin, there was no one left in the living room to greet her so she took it into her own hands to explore the new environment herself. She found the rooms upstairs easily, then set off to get unpacking and freshening herself up after the long journey here. About ten minutes later, she emerged from her room in a neat crimson coloured blouse and plain white pleated skort, her combed hair framing the contours of her angelic face. Mixed feelings were beginning to churn about in her stomach, but she tried to swallow them back. What if no one liked her? Would she have to face their jeers and taunts for the rest of the first term? She was Lead Huntress and she was capable. She should be confident. But in actual fact, Freida was far from it, even though she would hardly show it.
Heaving a small sigh, Freida began her search for her packmates. Were they outside? It seemed not. As the eighteen year old was walking by the kitchen, she scented the unmistakable aroma of mouth-watering food. It was quite while since she had last eaten, and at the thought of it made her belly rumble. Remembering her need to satisfy her hunger pangs, and hearing the loud chatter from within the room, she grasped her doorknob with fair fingers. "Chin up, Freida," she whispered words of comfort under her breath. The door gently opened to reveal a group of people around her age seated at a long dining table, feasting on: tomato sauce spaghetti with chicken, mashed potatoes and corn. The very sight caused her exquisite greyish-blue eyes to widen. Realising that she nearly missed dinner, a feeling of embarrassment and compunction overwhelmed her heart, and she quickly closed the door behind. Her gaze darted to the sterling silver cutlery to the delicious delicacies spread out before her. What a sight for sore eyes! Choosing a vacant seat in the middle of nowhere, Eida seated herself delicately on her chair and patiently waited for the motion to begin eating. No one else seemed to be eating just yet, and it was terribly rude in her eyes to tuck in without permission. She was a lady of her manners and sophistication, but she did know when to let her hair down. At that moment, her pretty eyes were dancing with the emotions that rarely flitted across those elegant features — humour, mirth, happiness.
She smiled with her eyes more than with her lips. She had been told smiling with genuine delight made her look more full and carefree, so she tried it, the corners of those soft lips curving up into a small smile that she casted to anyone who bothered to look at her. Freida could be as confident and bold as a peacock, but not in front of so many strangers, when her slightly reserved nature would manifest itself.
