He commented and glanced at the burger patties that were freshly cooked and the about done french fries. walking over to the french fries he took them out and poured them into a bowl. "Perfectly done unlike your burger's." Killian smirked and grabbed the buns and tossed one to her and grabbed one for himself. He sat down at a clean table and waited for her. "Wait. Soda." He grabbed two cups and filled his with Coke and eyed her questionably as if to ask what kind of drink she wanted.

A smile slowly crept onto her face. Typically, a rare occurrence. Today, not so rare. She snatched her bun he tossed her from the air, took the plates she had gotten out earlier and sat across the small diner table from him. "Coke is fine. Why'd you kiss me?" She asked. She knew it was the other way around, but he made her kiss him. He knew what he was doing, but why? She was curious. Either he was just as bored as she was, or he genuinely liked her. Or he was just a tease, which was a likely theory too. Whatever charming creation he was, she liked him. She watched him pour her a glass of cola and took a sip of the fizzing drink. She snatched at the ketchup bottle, squeezing some onto her burger and her plate for her fries. She looked back up to Killian's deep eyes, casually.

Maia Stevens – Student – Growing/Controlling Plants – Location: Local High School

Maia parked the SUV right in front of the school, locking it up and following Rose into the school. She heard the PA system crackle to life and Rose's voice ring out through the high school. Staying quiet, she listened to the conversation over the phone that followed, frowning when the girl on the other end said "shape shifter". Was such a thing really possible?? Then again, she thought back to her plants. Something unnatural was going on with them, she had known that for a while. Could it be her? Was she doing something to them??

Caught up in her own thoughts, she didn't notice Rose's fury until the table suddenly burst into flames in front of her. Well that solved the question of if the girl on the phone was making a joke. Grabbing a fire extinguisher, she calmly sprayed down the fire, keeping an eye on Rose who was huddled on the floor in shock. "That was a bit of a surprise." She said quietly, staring at the now blackened table. Grabbing Rose, she pulled the other girl to her feet. "Now we know that the disappearance of the adults is just the tip of the iceberg. You might wanna get a handle on that before you burn down the school or something else important." Her voice was calm and reasonable, a complete mask for the turmoil she felt inside.

"You need to find the students and get things organized. We don't know how many people may have these abilities, but everyone is gonna be freaked. You need to find a way to explain it, keep things from getting out of hand. Anyone with something like this should come forward, so we know who can do what." She suggested, one hand on the other girl's shoulder until she was sure Rose wouldn't fall over.

im crazy love Killian sat down in front of her and shrugged when she asked her question. "Just wanted to see how much it would take to see you break." He smirked and finished his burger, starting on his fries. He caught her gaze and smiled softly at her raising his left eyebrow as he drank some of his soda. "Didn't take long." Killian added in a bit more softer lower voice not looking at her.

Sterling leaned into the table. "What? Does that mean you'll be bored of me quicker now? Since I'm no fun, I don't struggle. I just snap. Well, that won't happen again. You found a weak spot I didn't know I had. You'll have to try harder next time." She said, sitting back into her chair. She took a small, second bite into her burger. Not burnt, but not perfect. Her dark eyes darted up to look at him, still trying to figure him out. He was still a puzzle, if not more complex now. She glanced outside, which was getting darker. It was probably around 4:45 in the afternoon. Still an hour and a half of dependable daylight, but after that, black. With no city workers to turn on the street lights. She knew who was out there, who would be coming for her if she was found to be in the city; Drew. Drew with Mars. Two power hungry, dangerous, psychotic young men who would take the city apart just to rebuild it on their own. She took another bite out of her burger and swallowed hard, worried.

Avery walked down the isle to the stairs leading up to the stage. He walked across, the floorboards of the wood stage creaking as he walked towards her. "You ok, Rose?" He asked. It was just then that she became stiff with rage. Avery followed her gaze, trying to see what had angered her. He saw an adult, who changed into a blonde girl. Probably someone's weird gift, a strange power. What startled him was that Rose was so angry. Avery instinctively wrapped his arms around her, focusing on her anger, absorbing it and replacing it with calm. He soothed her, but fought her anger. It was strong, powerful rage that would not submit to his power so easily. Avery struggled to hold her, her anger burning him. He pulled her to the floor, making her sit. "Rose!"

Avery pulled Rose in for a hug, one he needed just as much as she did. He wasn't the bravest or the strongest guy, but he was the most heartfelt, aware person he knew. Avery heard her soft voice, calm again. "Yeah, that's me. Emotional sponge here. I just took all your anger from you and put it into me. It hurts a little, but it's better now." He said softly back to her, letting her get up if she wanted. She took a moment, but when she had come to her senses, she got up, offering him a hand. He gladly took it, but helped himself up the most. He stayed quiet, hovering in the back ground as the girls talked amoungst themselves.

"I may or may not be able to grow and control plants." Maia said, giving a little grin. The world was falling to pieces around them, but she still had her plants. Apparently, Rose had pyrokinesis, the ability to create and control fire. But Avery... the ability to control other's emotions. That would take some thinking over. How many other kids now had superpowers? All of them? Avery seemed to know how to control his, and her own were fairly simple, but Rose's had been unexpected and could have been disastrous.

"Everyone probably left already. This just got a lot more difficult." She muttered, thoughts spinning. The developing powers were troubling, especially considering the fact that the Coates students likely had some too. There were more than a couple students who were bad enough as it was. If they had powers, let the world beware. There was a long pause as she considered their options. "The situation has changed. I think we should first set ourselves up for the long-haul. Once we know we can take care of ourselves, then we can start to worry about the others." She finally said quietly. It was the logical thing to do, given the current circumstances.

Anastasie listened as the phone got hit against something. Then, the girl grabbed it right out of Anastasie's hands. Anastasie didn't know what was going on, and personally didn't want to know. Then, or was gone. No dial tone, no nothing. What was going to happen? Was she going to get hurt? Was some one going to come here? She didn't want to know. She just wanted to find out when it actually happened.

Killian gulped down the Coke in a few sips and tossed the plate's and cup into the sink in the back of the kitchen. He turned around and eyed Sterling. "What's wrong?" Killian could see the worry in her eyes and facial features.
