Aidah Hall • Phoenix
Aidah glanced behind her as she felt Thaia pull free from their grasp. "We're definitely being followed," she called to Kaden between gasps for air. She really was not in the best shape to be running all over New York City. "I ran past those two in school this morning." Aidah tried not to think about what might happen if she had to explain to more people what was going on. She didn't even know what was going on.
Running down the hall, Aidah barely had time to take in the extravagance of the estate. All she could focus on was the intensity of emotion that seemed to be rushing between the three of them like a river. She could feel her insides boiling and churning, struggling to escape as a burst of flame. Ever since her accident with the people at the children's home, Aidah had kept her emotions locked away. This was the first really strenuous situation she had been placed in since that day so many years ago. But she had to keep everything under control. There were people who needed her more in the moment.
Seeing Althaia pull out the briefcase, Aidah doubled her speed to catch up with Kaden. Pushing past the boy, Aidah grabbed the key and fished out the green serum. "Let me do this, I'm certified," she mumbled, rolling up the sleeve of Althaia's sweater. The girl's skin was searing to touch, but it really didn't bother Aidah. After all, she could withstand direct flame without the slightest burn. This heat, however, did feel unnatural. It was worse than any fever Adaih had ever seen or worked with, and it didn't follow any of the other standard fever rules. Aidah found an exposed vein and inserted the needle, praying to some unknown power that it at least curbed Althaia's pain. Aidah couldn't stand to see anyone in such agony, even someone she didn't really know.
