- indentThe healer winced, holding back an awkward chuckle. His apartment did, in fact, have roaches. He neglected to mention it because they were eating and he considered it an inappropriate time to do so. His smile dropped a little as Roman continued to speak. 'First week?' Those words rang through his head, echoing over and over as they sank it. Roman had only been there a week. He had thought all of the angels had been cast out at the same time but...this information contradicted that. Time worked differently in Heaven; a few minutes in Heaven equated to months on Earth. It was possible that, if Raphael was in the first batch to be cast out, the others hadn't noticed he was gone until they were cast out themselves. After all, only a few minutes would have passed for them. Raphael had been mortal for about three months now, spending the first two struggling to adjust to his new form. He had managed to forge some documents, after praying for forgiveness, and gotten himself a job as a school nurse. After all, he needed food now, and food costed money. During that time, he found it strange how few angels he had seen around. It seemed that now he knew why. Raphael chose to keep this information to himself, forcing a smile as he took another bite of his doughnut.
indent"Wish I had that luxury. I'm just thankful that it's a Saturday; I had to get a job in order to cover food and living costs. I don't see how humans do it, honestly. Working all day, getting a few hours to relax, then being forced to throw away eight hours of their precious time for sleep. You'd think their bodies would have adapted and found a better way to manage it all, you know?" Raphael replied. The coffee shop was relatively empty, and the worker had disappeared into the employee lounge, so they could talk freely without risk of being overheard.
