- It took her a few moments before she got her mind back. "Okay. You're okay," she took in a deep breath, reassuring herself aloud. "This is going to be more than fine. This is a wonderful opportunity. You're doing great." Exhaling, she decided to go back and look at the star projection in the control room because that seemed to be the only thing grounding her at the moment. Which was odd, since she would usually read a textbook and she'd be fine for the rest of the day.
She walked briskly to the control room, not wanting to bump into any of the people on the ship. Even if you bump into somebody, you can just walk past them, she thought, plus, you're almost there. She entered the room and immediately started up the program exactly the way Allura showed her to. The stars showed in an instant. Iva was tempted to laugh at herself. She was getting worked up about absolutely nothing, her home was right there. She just had to finish her job before she got there. She'd been through different trials of life - ending of friendships, family fights, the works - yet this one seemed to be the most trying. She hadn't a clue why. All she knew was she wasn't an algebra equation and that she needed more than ever to listen to what her brain was telling her.
As she stared at the projection of Earth, Iva contemplated what she should do next. Try to talk to someone or avoid all contact until she knew a little more about Hunk. Either way, she'd have to talk to people to get what she wanted. But who? Keith? Keith didn't seem too attached to anyone really - at least, what she's seen. Lance? Yeah, he and Hunk seemed pretty close when she saw them together at any instance. I'll ask him about Hunk. What about the others? She shifted on the floor and blinked once. Everyone else seemed to be in the same boat as she was. Trying their best to make themselves adapt quick enough to look like they're the alpha of the trainees. Iva thought to put yourself in the positions of alpha, or even just having those labels in a team, was quite annoying and stupid for everyone else involved. Sometimes it worked, gave the other members motivation to be the best. Sometimes it just made the team grow apart from disagreement about the entire scenario.
