Chelsea Kairen worked her way up from the bottom. Born to two parents who were outsiders of the clan she was orphaned young when they were both killed in a skirmish with other outsiders. She had been hidden away by her parents and luckily was found by the then leader of the clan. She was taken in and raised as part of the clan. As she wasn't born in the clan she was treated differently and shunned by some. This only encouraged her to work harder to prove herself. She showed her intelligence, bravery and loyalty to the clan that had raised her. Now she is second in command and few believed that it could have happened. Due to this she doesn't budge people on their backgrounds and simply on their actions. She can be quite harsh and impulsive at times which sometimes gets her into trouble, more so when she was younger.
She also thinks she has a great sense of humour, mostly based around a blend of wit and sarcasm, a mix that quite often annoys others but which she will use when helping to train or deal with the younger members of the clan. She is also quite ambitious which has helped her work her way up but which may also prove dangerous. She does her best to hide this side of herself as she doesn't want people to see it negatively. She fully supports Benjamin but also thinks that she would make a good leader when the time comes. She isn't afraid to challenge his decisions which may seem disrespectful but truthfully she only really wants what is best for the clan. Also unusually the colour of her fire is a deep black-red in colour.

Aslin is a short girl of 5'1" with a skinny but curvy build. Her skin is fair and rosy, lips plush, eyes wide and innocent in the color of sky on a cloudy day, and her hair is naturally brown at the base of her neck and blonde everywhere else. Slightly layered and wavy it cascades down to the mid of her back when she decides to let it down from the clasp that holds it up. On her shoulder is a tattoo of a bird and her clothes can range from "city girl" to "country bumpkin" but is mostly things that are casual and practical enough to, say― roam the woods comfortably or milk a cow.

Raised on a farm in Tennessee she was taught how to fend for herself in the wild at a young age along with how to do her usual chores. She can make/set-up a snare, skin and gut an animal to cook, tell what plants are eatable and what are not, and more. While she can do all this she doesn't brag or show it off and only hunts when she needs to. It fact she is completing her five-year combined bachelor's and master's program in forestry and wouldn't have been deep in an actual forest if it weren't for three things. Her stupid father, the stupid guy her father was trying to set her up with, and stupid rumors about big foot. Now she is left alone for three months to see if she can actually find anything.

Though small and a total sweetheart Aslin has a fiery temper and is one of the most stubborn person you will ever meet. She is calm and laid back, friendly and cheerful, motherly and respectful, but don't try her patience. One to think things through before doing anything she likes to weigh her options so she won't do anything, well, stupid. Unfortunately that doesn't always work out as her temper does snap but she will collect herself afterwards and attempt to fix the situation. As an independent woman she doesn't like being told what to do and will challenge any who challenge her. When she is set off on something she doesn't know when to quit and is too stubborn to admit when she is wrong.

Samantha is a short, 5'2 curvy halfling. She has chocolate brown eyes that can melt through any heart and medium soft brown hair that she usually has up in a high ponytail. She has soft features that blend together and create hidden dimples all around her body. Sam controls the element air and she's usually creating miniature storms (or big storms in some more intense cases) that follow her around. Her dragon shift is a stunning european dragon that appears as so. As a dragon, she much smaller than all the other dragons and is only about the size of a Clydesdale horse. Her scales are a beautiful golden color that have blue accents that lighten (happy) or darken (sad/angry) depending on her mood. Her tail has a giant, webbed fin that helps her make sharper turns than most. Spines stick out of her head, arms, cheeks and shoulder blades and if you look closely you can see a small set of ears poking out of the head spikes. Samanthas animal shift is a Steller Eagle and she uses it just as much as her dragon shift. It's rare to see her as a human since it's so easy for all forms to get around.

Sam is currently a student of the clan. She is in training to become a fighter, and one day she dreams of becoming the Guardian. She knows it will take a lot of work, but she believes she'll get there someday. A mere 16 years old, she has just under two years left of training. Samantha is a mischievous girl whom holds back a lot of potential. She masks her intelligence to try and fit in with the clan fighters stereotype; driven, emotionless and aggressive. When on her own, her true thought process shines through. She is gullible and sensitive, which makes for an emotionally dangerous combination. She tries to hide this by being aggressive and rude.

Neither pure, nor gracious, nor even rebellious, this young la
ss is a rather strange one. She is the kind of person who could
be sitting outside of a circle of people arguing, entertaining

Tu Bao has had an interest in kung fu since he was a child, one he gained and was able to cultivate due to having a teacher from the outside whom his parents were secretly friends with. He spends most of his time practicing the martial art, his passion and hard work having earned him a position as a respected fighter among the halflings. Despite his talents, and despite the encouragements of his elders, he has repeatedly rejected the offer of becoming the clan's second defender. He generally seems uninterested in using his skills for combat, preferring to practice his forms in solitude and spending the time he isn't training on reading book after book of novels and poetry. He does some writing himself, but mostly keeps his texts hidden from his peers. As the clan's leaders thinks his passive personality would be a good complement to the other guardian, Misha, Tu's apparent unwillingness to do his duty for the clan has caused some resentment from them. This has lead Tu to believe that he's very unpopular in the clan (although he's actually generally well-liked). He's somewhat pessimistic and hardly ever does anything impulsively, but he will gladly have a relaxing cup of tea with a friend, or read aloud for the children of the clan.

Tu is a friendly, but quiet person, bordering on boring, but inside he has a vibrant inner life and is very creative. He's not without loyality, but will save his own skin first should it come to that. Tu is of Chinese descent, short and small-featured with a square-ish, but soft build. What he lacks in physical strength, he makes up for in swiftness and technique. His dragon form is likewise relatively small compared to most other haflings and is about the size of a horse. It is remiscent of his butterfly lizard appearance (which is of course much smaller), only with a more elongated body, wings, and several horns protruding from his face and spine.

Dev has never been the kind of person you go to when you just want company. No one has ever seen him as a "just hang out" kind of person. He's the kind of one you'd go to if you have a problem and you just want someone to vent to, or your boyfriend is being a jerk and you kind-of-kind-of-don't want someone to beat him up. Granted, Devlin wouldn't hurt a fly unless he had proof that it has somehow harmed someone he cared about. Despite his size and physical strength, he doesn't believe in violence for the sake of violence, there needs to be a rhyme or reason to it; defending your home, your family, or hunting for your food are basically the only reasons he condones it. Because he doesn't see a need for violence, he's very passive. He won't stand up for himself, would rather just say "yeah okay" and walk away than deal with someone who wants a physical confrontation. For this reason, the clan believed that he would never amount to much of anything when he was a small child. They believed that he would probably end up being kicked from the clan. Until the day his little sister was attacked by a couple of men who stumbled upon the clan. Devlin had heard her screaming, and flew into a rage the clan leaders hadn't thought possible for him. He ended up killing the two human men, which is something that still haunts his dreams. He has constant nightmares about it; about having to kill them all over again, or more of them, or what would have happened if he hadn't gotten there in time. It was during the confrontation with the men that the clan leaders knew that he would make a great defender. As long as he had someone to defend that is.

His mother and father died when he was 10. A hunt gone bad is what he was told from the elders. He had honestly thought that sounded a little suspicious, how had both of his parents died on the same hunt and no one else? But he didn't question it, because he knew the clan leaders wouldn't have had any reason to want them killed. It was then that his personality changed. He used to be a very energetic child, running and climbing and laughing all the time. He'd wrestle with some of the other children in the clan, and play fight with them. But after that day it was like he suddenly aged 15 years. He had to look after his little sister, and protect her, and make sure she had enough food. He basically became a father at 10, and while the clan helped them out, he still felt solely responsible for her. He's still highly protective of her, even though she's all grown up and can take care of herself. He knows that she must resent him for being so over-protective of her, but she's the last part of his family and he knew he would break if he lost her too.

He doesn't talk too much, mostly just listens. If you get him on a topic he likes, he can talk for hours and hours. But he's self conscious around the other members of the clan, and as a result he hasn't formed many bonds with any of them. He likes to spend a lot of his time on his own, mostly near the water. This has always struck him as odd, since his element is fire, but he enjoys spending a lot of his time in the water. His sister believes that it's because their mother was water and their dad was fire. He doesn't think it has anything to do with that, he just likes to swim. He likes to spend as much time outside as he can.

His dragon form is a large one, mostly black with red wings and eyes. His chest, eyes and mount glow when he's going to breath fire. Sometimes it takes him a bit longer to get air born, because of the size of his body. His animal form is a black panther, which is, to him, just as lethal as his dragon.

Ava, much to her brothers disapproval, has been the more outgoing of the two. She always wants to go on adventures, on hikes and on swim trips as far out into the water as she can get. She loves to spend time with the other members of the clan, and to get to know people. She particularly enjoys hearing about all the gossip around the clan, who's interested in who, who wants to date who. She loves those kinds of things. Devlin would much rather she stay home and not do anything with anyone. He says that he's a trusting person, but she doesn't believe him. To her, he only trusts people in the clan. Ava is intrigued by the people, the places, and learning new things. She's fairly certain that it's because of what happened to her when she was younger, this attack that Dev told her about. She doesn't remember most of it, she remembers the men and she remembers being cut by a blade, she remembers screaming and she remembers a blade to her throat as Dev came barreling out of the woods like a maniac. But other than that, she doesn't remember much of it.

She was only five when her parents died. She hardly remembers them, but a lot of the older clan leaders keep telling her how much she looks like her mother. She takes that as a compliment, as she knows that her mother was fairly beautiful (they tell her that all the time too, like that somehow makes up for the fact that she doesn't have a mother), so they must mean that she is too. Her red hair is from her mother's side, as well as her element. She somehow feels closer to the mother that she never really knew whenever she's in the water, and she thinks that Dev must too since he spends just as much time in the water as she does.

A lot of the clan expected her to be as good a fighter as he brother was, but she doesn't like to fight. She grew up with the same view that he did; that there's really no need for violence. But to her, there's no reason to condone it. To her there is almost always a way to resolve things without the need to punch them in the face. She had originally hoped to be a healer, but after showing that she had no talent at that (and usually left the patient worse off than when they came to see her) the clan leaders decided that she would be better off as a hunter. Which she is. She's great at tracking animals, and setting traps. She prefers to hunt in the water, bring fish and larger water animals in for food, but she can hunt a deer or a bear just as easily.

Despite her element, Ava has an explosive temper. She gets angered very easily but doesn't always act on that anger. Sometimes she'll just sit and stew on it, letting it build until she finally has to do something about it. She's never violent about it, just likes to scream and yell and curse at whoever made her mad (which is usually her brother). She tends to babble, a lot, and even more when it's something she really likes to talk about. She doesn't have the same stutter that her brother does, so she's not as afraid to keep talking as he seems to be. Almost everyone in the clan knows who she is, and she's fairly certain that she knows pretty much everyone in the clan, and she feels like she has good relationships with most of them. Sure some might not like her, but she doesn't care, it's not her problem.

Her dragon is larger than she had expected when she first turned, she has always been a bit on the short side (short compared to her brother that is) so she always thought that she would have a smaller dragon. But she feels massive in that form. The scales are blue, with eyes that are so blue they're practically white. Her dragon form does have wings, and it does have the ability to fly, however the wings are smaller (designed more for powering her through the water) and she's not the best flyer because of it. She also doesn't like heights, which makes flying a problem. Her animal is the small size she had expected, a silver fox. Despite not having control of the water, and foxes not being the best swimmers, she loves to be in that form, and sometimes feels more at home in that form than either of her others.
