Aliana had been up long before the sun rose. She tended to be quite the night owl, when she had the chance that is. However, instead of watching YouTube or Netflix, like she normal would have done, she spent most of the night looking for jobs. Aliana had just graduate from high school less than a year ago, but had no money for college. So, she decided that it was best to get a job. With the company of her husky-mix pup, Kalia, she had been searching newspapers and the internet for most of the night, looking for pretty much anything. However, it wasn't as easy as she thought it would be.
Around eight in the morning is when she finally emerged from her 'den-like' bedroom, dragging herself out into the kitchen to meet her family. Her drowsy puppy also followed her sleepy companion closely. Her mother and father were up already, but her younger siblings were still in bed. Aliana waddled over to her mother before slumping onto her small frame, groaning softly. Her mother just laughs softly, pats her head softly, and without a word, hands her her favorite coffee mug. Smiling, Aliana took the mug from her mother and kissed her before walking over to the full pot of coffee. After adding a heavy helping of french vanilla creamer, she walked to the living room to join her father, who was watching the news. She silently slipped onto the couch and right next to her father, so close that she could pretty much be sitting on him. He simply chuckled as he wrapped his arm around her shoulder, silently welcoming her. Kalia joined her on the couch shortly, though she wasn't supposed to. Sipping her sweet concoction, she smiles a little. Aliana enjoyed these quiet moments in the house, since these days, they had become quite rare.

Wisps of smoke were released from his mouth as he wheeled himself away from one table he had been working on towards another. The engine block on the former table was far from pristine, and Dean was slowly working his way back to having it in working order. The process was slow going, but it was going somewhere at least. The cigarette that was held between his index and middle finger was put back in his mouth as he grabbed a pencil and scribbled down words he knew no one but him would be able to read. Some new pistons were need, along with a cylinder head. Dean pulled the cigarette back out, breathing out as he placed the remnants in one of the several ashtrays he had laying around. Getting the parts was hardly the issue, but when the money you made went back into your work, well, a past time like this was hard to do. Most of his money went back into new parts he would need for a costumer, and the rest helped him keep the little two-door garage he worked from afloat. But hey, he managed, and sooner or later he would have that scrapped '67 Impala back up and running.
Work worn hands ran through his hair as he stood, walking towards the little living quarters that was attached to the garage. It was rather small, but it was perfect in Dean's opinion. It had a small cot, a little stand up shower, his work desk, and his coffee machine.. that was apparently empty. Dean huffed as he opened a cabinet above the desk against the wall, getting the can that held his coffee grounds and finding out it was empty. A groan came from his throat as he closed the cabinet and threw the can away. Great, he thought. He didn't want to really go out in public, firstly because he looked scruffy from being in the shop since 5 AM, and secondly: he still had work to do. A car had come in late last night right before he was fixing to close up, and he had decided he would wait until he opened in the morning to start on it. Waking up and coming here early had only been for the chance to work on old Bertha. Still, Dean had no choice but to go out, he liked his coffee, and didn't want to end up falling asleep under a jacked up car laying on a creeper. He did that once and waking up bumping your head on the underside of a car wasn't great. Dean had a change of clothes (he kept them for emergencies) and he was positive he didn't stink, right? Yeah, he was good, he just had some oil on his hands and over the majority of his clothes. Good, he would just head to the store and grab some coffee grounds. It seemed unconventional once he actually thought about it, going to a coffee shop would just be easier honestly. Dean shrugged, he would figure it out as he went, either way he was going to get some coffee.
With a new change of clothes and a small hop in his step, Dean didn't let the noticeable humidity in the air bring him down. It was something everyone grew use to, but after being in a cooled shop, it was stifling at times. The hustle and bustle of the city was still high as Dean made his way on the sidewalk. There were some noticeable clouds in the distance and Dean pulled he worn jacket around himself a little tighter as he walked. Owning a car in NYC wasn't something Dean had ever really considered, seeing as to how traffic was horrible most of the time, so he stuck to taking a cab or walking. With his shop only about ten blocks away from an actual store though, Dean opted for walking this time and enjoying his surroundings, he would probably regret his decision though if he didn't hurry. Hopefully he could pick up a snack from somewhere since he hadn't eaten anything this morning. A muffin sounded good right about now actually, but he wanted coffee first, then maybe a muffin. Dean's stomach growled in agreement and he began to hum a small tune as he continued walking.

Calicusu Ardennes ۵
────────────────────
nineteen --> weapon; katana --> location; home, streets --> tagged; Dean
Cal was a night owl ,yet a morning person . Very strange ,probably unhealthy combination. The young lady opened her eyes from the sudden buzz on the small table near her. It was her phone, reminding her that getting out of this tub might be a good idea. She had the terrible habit of getting too carried away in her bubble baths and often had to skip her breakfast for the same reason. She would actually go to work in her p-j's if that's the cost she had to pay to go on time. Today tough, she actually had enough time to dry her body, hair, brush her teeth and take care of herself overall . She slipped on the outfit she used for her workouts with the comfortable white nikes she was proud to say she bought with her own money. Now, she wasn't coming from a rich family, but they never struggled for money either. While she wasn't allowed to work till her eighteenth birthday, Cal never stopped helping her mother with the chores. Her father was never home, first he had to serve in the military ,which was by the way one of the reasons she hated violence and then he managed to find himself another job but once again, it required him to travel and be far away from his family for the most. With a quiet sigh , she grabbed an apple from the kitchen table ran the brush once again trough her wavy brown mane before storming out of the small ,yet cozy apartment . Just after leaving the building, a loud thunder echoed in the air ,which made her look up to the sky. It was dark and even darker clouds seemed to be coming closer to the city. She shrugged. Bad weather, probably rain , hopefully it'll at least wait for her to go to work before it actually starts showering.
Just when she was picking her speed, heading for the nearest grocery store or the coffee shop ,she bumped into something tall and hard. She was about to say something but looking up to what or who she had bumped into left her with open mouth for a brief moment. It was Dean, the young male she had practically grown up with. Growing up defiantly drew them apart ,she couldn't tell it destroyed their friendship tough. They were never really friends, nor enemies, they didn't like each other too much ,yet at the same time they did. She didn't know about him ,but deep down, she cared about him and always quietly looked out for the guy. Cali crossed her arms, after regaining her proud posture. ''You'' she huffed ,pulling brow up. ''You look like a goat chewed you, like a gum ,then decided to spit you out because of your horrible taste.'' Ah,this sharp tongue of hers. Her relatives kept wondering how is she even still alive, especially in a town like New York. At least her 'friend' was used to her behavior. Now, they grew apart because they barely ever sat down to talk but that didn't mean they never bumped into each other. They live in the same neighborhood, after all.

Drayton Severin
The simplicity of being unknown and forgotten....
I am~ ”Home.”
Feeling~ ”Apathetic.”
Tagged~ No one
Soft melodic chords quietly reverberated around the quiet room, creating a soft hum as Drayton remained seated on the couch, completely slouched with his guitar positioned on his stomach and his knee bent up to keep it in place. His fingers moved fluidly on the frets as he positioned his fingers and re-positioned them on different strings to hit the right chord. His calloused fingers gently struck the strings as the soft music escaped from the instrument and out into the air. He knew his acoustic guitar well and memorized every feel and flaw to it and it was obvious to all who could see by the way his head was laid back against the armrest and his eyes remained closed. He was at peace right now, alone in his apartment with no one to bother him and the relaxing music coming from his guitar managing to calm him down. The lad had been playing for over an hour; having returned from his nightly activity that earned him money at a price. Lightly bruises decorated the lad's face laying mainly around his right cheek and jawline, more traced along his knuckles and darkened the already scarred skin, dark bags marked the skin underneath his eyes signifying the lad's incapability of gaining a good night of sleep. His body was still sore but he was coping with it, having already being familiar with the pain and knowing well it could have been worse than what he was given.
Stopping his playing momentarily Drayton slowly cracked his eyes open, bright amber orbs shining as he slowly turned his head towards the coffee table beside him to catch the time. His eyes narrowed at the red blinking numbers seeing that his classes started in a few hours. Sighing, the lad brought his heavily tattooed arms up and rubbed his tired eyes with the heel of his palm, knowing well that he was going to have to get ready and leave the comfort of his home. Grabbing the neck of the guitar Drayton lifted it off his lap and sat up, placing his feet down onto the carpeted floor and rested the guitar on the couch. Pausing in his actions the lad shook his head in an attempt to brush off the dizziness before slowly rising up to his feet, gritting his teeth and grunting at the pain that erupted around his abdomen area. Rising up to his full height he glanced down at his stomach before lifting up the hem of his blank undershirt to take a look at the damage, his eyebrow furrowing as more bruises laid across his lower abdomen and rib cage area. Looks like he was going to have to put some ice on them before he went out. Shaking his head Drayton dropped his shirt and slowly walked towards his room to grab what he needed.
Upon entering the lad didn't even bother to look around as he went towards his drawer and grabbed a random black shirt along with his hoodie and put them on, bunching the sleeves of his hoodie up to his elbows. Looking around the floor the lad grabbed a pair of combat boots and slipped them on before nodding to himself. Grabbing the rest of his belongings consisting of his phone, earphones, and his keys Drayton scanned his room one last time before exiting and entering the living room again. He quickly made his way over to the kitchen and to the refrigerator, opening the freezer door and grabbed an ice bag. Tossing it onto the counter the lad grabbed a few paper towels and wrapped it around the ice bag, not wanting to get ice burn once it came into contact with his skin. Preparing himself Drayton sighed before lifting up his shirts to reveal the bruised skin and placed the wrapped ice bag over the bruises, eyes closing as the coldness met his warm skin and numbed out the pain. He kept it them for a matter of minutes until he could no longer feel the pain of the pressure he was applying and removed the ice bag before placing it over his knuckles. There wasn't much he could do for those as he had already addressed the wounds the best to his abilities. Feeling the same numbness after a few minutes Drayton slowly clenched his hands; feeling only a slight bit of pain the lad deemed himself worthy of stepping outside and opened the freezer before tossing the ice bag in.
Making his way over to the front door Drayton unlocked the door and stepped outside, turning one of the locks from the inside before closing the door behind him and locking it. Glancing out of the corner of his eye to see if anyone was in the hallways the lad smirked when he saw that it was empty and chuckled softly under his breath. Not many people appreciated seeing a bruised face so early in the morning and he didn't want anybody to be casting looks at him. Eyes narrowing at the thought he reached behind him and placed his hood over his head, knowing well it would conceal his features aside from a few tufts of his coal black hair and bright amber eyes. He didn't want to be noticed and Drayton was good at remaining unseen and practically a shadow, it was how he preferred it to be. Tucking his hands into his pockets the lad kept his head up high and walked down the hall to exit the building and go outside.

Lucy arrived at the shop she intended on getting her groceries at and stepped. in. She grabbed a shopping basket and began meandering among the isles, looking for anything that she may want back at home. She quickly filled the basket of what she would need and checked out. She exited the store and looked around. Perhaps she could go to the library. She had just recently finished her last novel and was looking to reading another soon. She wandered down to the library and stepped in. She had been very close friends with the librarian and smiled at the middle aged woman behind the counter. She had been very close to her daughter ever since she moved to the city, and they were basically her family. She approached the woman, Hiya Mrs. O'Dell. How are you? She greeted. The two talked for a few minutes before Mrs. O'Dell excitedly told Lucy about the new books she had ordered. She didn't hesitate before offering to take Lucy down to the basement to look through the new books for anything she may like. She led Lucy down to the basement and pointed towards the boxes before heading back up. Lucille sat cross legged in front of one of the boxes filled with novels and began looking through them. She had gotten half way through her second box of books, a pile of ones she may be interested in resting beside her, When she heard a thunderous noise and the entire ground shook. She froze, completely, not even breathing. That was so close... Part of her wanted to run upstairs and make sure Mrs. O'Dell was alright, but most of her did not want to move from where she was at the moment. It was only about half a minute before it happened again, but this time it was very close. The lights immediately flickered out and several bottles and boxes fell off the shelves around her. Now she could hear rumbling, at times sounding closer or far off, but it was happening everywhere. The war was here. There was no more ignoring it. Lucille thought that the bombing that had been so close to where she was was finished. That is, until she heard the deafening sound and felt everything cave in around her. Immediately everything shifted to blackness.

He had been walking to his own tune when he was suddenly bumped by a smaller individual. Dean had an apology on the tip of his tongue when he soon realized who it was. Cali. The younger girl that he had known since she was a little kid. They hardly spoke to one another, and weren't anything close to actual friends. Nothing came from his mouth as she fixed herself, standing tall and huffing at him about his appearance. He knew quite well what her mouth could spit out, and took it all in stride as he laughed lightly at the mental image of a goat chewing on his sleeve. Goats would eat anything, so if one had spit him out he knew he had to taste as bad as she said. "Oh come on Cal," Dean said as he took a step back. "I don't think I look that bad, but ya'-" The sound of an airplane caught Deans attention, not because it was uncommon for them to fly over the city, but because the sound was louder then usual; planes weren't allowed to fly under a certain amount at all. That known fact immediately put him on edge as he looked towards the sky in search of a plane. It sounded like multiple ones honestly. The noticeable figure of one, followed by another came into view and the easy to see symbols on them gave away who the airships belonged to. A chill ran down his spine as he looked back down and around them, people that had been walking around stopping to look up too. The opening of a subway caught his eyes and as Dean looked back up - was something falling down from the planes? - he said Run to Calicusu before taking off in a full blown sprint towards the subway. Going underground was better than being in the open, and the thoughts of how Hiroshima and Nagasaki looked came into his mind as Dean ran down the steps of the subway. Getting as far in, and down, would be the best bet, and Dean soon miss-stepped down, a pain forming in his left ankle that he ignored as he helped himself over a couple of the turnstiles. He had just turned a corner in the subway when the first erupting noise hit his ears.

Cole was strolling down the street contently deciding on whether he would need to pop into the shops on the way home, when all of a sudden he heard a thunderous noise before feeling the ground shaking underneath his feet. They boy stumbled backwards slightly in order to maintain his balance. His eyes widened slightly wondering what on earth could be going on. Cole noticed people around him starting to run. His pulse increased slightly, as he too broke into a run, heading in the direction of his apartment of where he had left his younger sister.
Cole managed to run about thirty yards before there was another thunderous noise and he was knocked off his feet. As he skidded across the ground his head became hazy, his vision blurred slightly and all he could heard was silence apart from a ringing in his ears. For a few seconds the boy just couldn't think where he was, but as soon as his vision un-blurred and parts of buildings started to collapse around him he knew what was going on. It was war. Hearing the sound of more buildings collapsing the boy immediately placed his arms over his head and closed his eyes tightly. Why him? What had he done? these questions racing through his mind, thinking this could be the end of him. His pulse increased even more as adrenaline pumped through his veins; his hands shaking uncontrollably. Cole was prepared to say goodbye and stay placed where he was when he suddenly remembered about his sister. He had left her all alone in the apartment and she must be scared out of her mind. He couldn't leave her there, he had to go and get her. Clenching his fists and mumbling under his breath, the boy shot up and broke into a sprint, heading towards his apartment.
As the boy ran he saw things a person never should see. Things which made him feel sick to his stomach. The screaming and the crying of civilians around him made him want to join in however he had no time for that. He had a little girl to collect. As Cole turned the corner his apartment came into view. It was still quite a few meters away however At the door he could make out a young girl standing, screaming and crying. His sister. That was when Cole noticed something, something falling from the sky, very near to where she was standing. Cole's pupils dilated as he ran towards her, his arm outstretched in absolute horror. They boy yelled out towards her, their eyes met for a split second before Cole was blown back. Cole's vision slowly turned black. Unharmed, rubble collected on top of the boy.

Drayton Severin
The simplicity of being unknown and forgotten....
Location~ ”Apartment/Streets.”
Feeling~ ”Alert.”
Tagged~ No one
Reaching the end of the hall Drayton made his way over to the stairwell and grabbed onto the railing as he quietly descended them, muscles tensing when he suddenly heard a loud boom and the building swayed. Gripping onto the railing the lad got knocked against the wall and his head slammed against the window beside him. Groaning he released his grip on the railing and leaned fully against the wall, trying to hold onto it as the pain coursed through his skull and a ringing noise assaulted his ears. Waiting for the effect to leave Drayton looked up through squinted eyes at the window and his amber eyes widened for a fraction of a second. Planes were flying in the sky and closer than they normally should be, but it was the symbol that was on the tail of the aircraft that caught his attention. They were here; the war was here. Hearing muffled screams and shouts over the ringing noise Drayton glanced behind him to see people rushing out from their apartments and heading towards the elevator on the other side of the hall. That was the worse place to go in a time like this, they won't survive. Warn them, warn them. The lad opened his mouth to shout at them to get out of there but all that left him was a raspy croak. He was an elective mute and hadn't used his voice for months, only a few words here and there.
Growing frustrated Drayton opened his mouth again and fought against the burning fire in his throat, trying to talk, to warn them. "No." He whispered as he met the eyes of a few them as the elevator doors slowly closed and then another thunderous boom shook the building, throwing the lad against the wall and down the few remaining stairs. Falling down onto his side the lad stood still, senses blind to all that was going on around him. People screaming and crying, buildings shaking, walls cracking; his eyes were wide open but he was oblivious. For a few more seconds he stood still on the floor, plaster dust from the ceiling above falling onto him as they cracked and shook before he took in a deep breath and coughed, struggling to catch his breath as he slowly rolled over onto his back. Pain coursed through his already bruised ribs and Drayton remained still on the floor, ears no longing ringing he could clearly hear the anguish and fear going on outside. Everywhere around him. He needed to get up though, he couldn't stay here; not in a two story building where everything can collapse on him.
Coming to that resolve the lad narrowed his eyes and slowly rolled over onto his side before bringing himself up, going onto his knees first then carefully onto his feet as he wrapped one arm around his ribs. Eyes searching Drayton looked around for the main door until he found it, crumbling and threatening to cave in at any second. Exhaling softly he walked over to it as fast as he could, gritting his teeth as his ribs protested in pain but the lad continued. He needed to get out. Reaching the entrance he gripped onto the door frame and leaned against it, amber orbs scanning the outside area as he took everything in. Civilians scrambling for cover, in desperate search for the their loved ones, or already lost to the war. Shaking his head to block it out the lad limped out of the entrance and into the streets, hollow eyes calculating and looking around for an almost safe place to go. In reality there was no safe place but it was thought of it that kept him going. Making his way over to the alleyway beside the apartment building Drayton looked around again before the loudest boom shook the entire place to the core and threw him down. Falling into the alleyway darkness overwhelmed his senses and Drayton laid there in silence as chaos erupted around him.

By now, Aliana's siblings were up and about, chasing each other wildly throughout the house. Their mother had made the mistake of giving them pancakes and allowing them to put to syrup on top. Now, knowing little kids, you can guess what happened next. There was practically a pool of syrup on and around their pancakes. Aliana was no better. She knew they weren't supposed to, but she just sat there and watched, smiling to herself as she finished her first cup of coffee. However, when she heard her parents coming, she jogged back to her room, hiding there. She didn't want to be blamed for letting them put that much syrup on, though, it technically was her fault. All she heard from her room was her mother's gasp, her father's sigh, and the sound of her siblings' teeth rotting away. She laughed to herself as she snuggled up next to Kaila, browsing the internet once more for jobs.
The morning seemed to be like any other day. That was, until there was a thunderous sound from outside. It was like time froze as the ground shook, causing the shelves to rattle. Aliana could hear her siblings scream and she jumped out of her bed, holding her dog. Slowly, Aliana opens her door to see her family huddling together, staring at her. "Daddy? What's going-" She was cut off by another explosion, much closer than the one before. The force of the shaking caused Aliana to collapse, holding on to her pup for dear life. "Aliana! Don't move!" Her father screams at her. She just stares, horrified, at her family as a third explosion went off. This caused the house to shake. She could hear the walls cracking around her, the floor creaking under her. Aliana looks back up at her family before she speaks, her voices barely audible, "Daddy?" she cries out softly, tears welling in her eyes. Then, the floor gave way under her, almost as it swallowed her and her dog whole. The last thing she remembers was her family's cries before everything went dark.

♕ MAZIE AQUILINO
─────────────────────────────────────────
[ weapon ] long sword & sling shot [ location ] home [ tagged ] open
"I hate you Mum you never do anything to help support this family!" she yelled furiously as she slammed the door behind her trudging across the front lawn onto the footpath. It was always like this her mother always spent the money on useless things like drugs and alcohol leaving her brother starving at home, worst of all it was the money Mazie had to steal and earn herself. She wiped away a stray tear off her face, having to support the family was painful it had ruined her good standing in society through the process but despite this she had to do it again. She headed to the shops in hopes successfully stealing some money from people, it had become a skill now pick pocketing she had done it so many times she didn't even need to try anymore. A man walked by and she pretended to accidentally bump into him, "Oh my god I'm so sorry!" she said apologising and putting on her best charming face. Her looks helped along the way as well with the skill of pick pocketing. Walking off towards the shop she pulled out the wallet she had just nabbed from the man, to show a number of $50 notes. It must be my lucky day... She walked inside the sliding doors of the store and proceeded to buy as many groceries she could hoping to spend the money she had nabbed before her Mum got to it.
"Apples, biscuits, bread, milk, oranges, meat..." she mumbled as she put stuff into the trolley one by one after one another. Her trolley was almost full so she headed to the counter and realised she would have to pick up some medicine from the pharmacy after this. She paid the check out lady and put the bags into the trolley wheeling it down the street to the pharmacy which she had rarely been to since she hardly ever got enough money for medicine. During times when her family urgently needed medicine she depended on medicinal herbs stuff you could find on the streets or the woods which always did the job. But she always had a hard time giving it to her brother since the medicine was always bitter not sweet and tasty like regular cold medicine from the pharmacy. She pulled some cold and flue medicine from the shelf and paid before pushing the trolley back home down the street. She unlocked the door to the house and unpacked all the groceries as soon as she got in. The sound of what sounded like an explosion shook the whole place. She let out a scream and the impact of whatever made the sound sent her toppling to the ground she crawled as fast as she could to underneath the dining table like the teachers in school had taught them to do in cases of earthquakes or such. The walls collapsed sending rubble everywhere the dust in the air from the rubble caused her to cough. Finally the sound resided and the sound of people screaming and crying could be heard from all over the neighbourhood.
Her ears were still ringing from the loud explosion, her house was in a wreck not the one she recognised anymore. She carefully crawled out from underneath the table and stepped carefully in case the floor collapsed. The front door was broken crushed under the weight of the ceiling, she kicked it down looking outside to see what had happened. "Holy sh*t" she said observing the destruction the bombing had caused the whole place was destroyed nothing left but rubble except for the lucky ones who hadn't been caused too much damage.
