EVANGELINE★
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
[ queen's lady ][ twenty two ][ no crush ][ tagged; the court ]
France. Not exactly Evangeline's idea of a homelike place. Of course, she didn't have much choice in the matter, but being with the girls she grew up with and were so dear to her shouldn't make it too dreadful. As the border collie lay on the floor of the carriage, she looked out the window, admiring the landscaping as the arrival neared. The dress that she was wearing was uncomfortable, and the corset underneath even more so. Her hair was actually somewhat messy, but it had a attractive, shaggy look to it, so it was presentable. As the horses clopped along the blazed road, the carriage came to a slow, then a full stop. Taking a deep breath, just wanting to be out of this dress and into some pants, the blonde gave a deep breath before letting out a calm and collected sigh. This was it. As they all emerged from the carriage, Monty did not stray from her side. The dog walking next to her, Angie's eyes landed on her queen. Smiling softly as the girl came over to her and the other ladies, her arms delicately wrapped around her. "It's wonderful to see you, River," the words slipping through her lips generously, the deep, Scottish accent rolling off her tongue.
Her eyes wandered around, picking out the many faces that were there for the arrival of the Scottish girls. France was defiantly a place that Angie felt in her heart that she couldn't trust anyone, only her friends she grew up with, including the queen. Everyone else was a stranger, and the lies that were in that walls of the castle were already starting to leave a mark on her mind, but she had other things to worry about. If it ever came to it, Angie would do what it takes to protect her, Monty, the queen, the princesses, and the other ladies. No one knew that there was a knife in her right boot, and she knew how to throw it and use it. Obviously, Evangeline was far from being a lady, but she still put that smile and dress on her face, because she loved River and would do what it took to make her queen happy.
Her eyes glanced to Marcel, now greeting the queen and princesses, who all are stunning, might she add. They grew up to be beautiful, like their sister. Monty sat next to her patiently, also watching everyone and everything. Evangeline wasn't sure what else she could say in this matter, so she just stayed silent and watched as things happened, taking each and every face into mind to remember who she was going to watch out for.

❊..RENEE ABOTT
xx.xx━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
xx.xxqueen's lady - twenty-one - tagged: no one
renee's head leaned against the side of the carriage, occasionally banging it against the hard surface at the slightest bumps that the roads had to offer. the carriage ride for the most part was silent, her being stuck with only evangeline most definitely added to that of course, countless thoughts overwhelming her. she was going to france. she was to live in france until who knows how long. it still was a surreal thought, but as the scenery began to change around her, the blonde haired girl's state of mind quickly believed that it truly was happening. renee's eyes were locked to the image of the far away castle coming closer and closer literally every second. it was massive, probably even bigger than scotland's. she ran her fingers through her hair and stood up straight in a stretch, attempting to make herself somewhat presentable after the long and tedious journey, smoothing her skirts and hassling with her hair.
the sound of hooves that she had made a musical pattern out of in her boredom, had finally stopped. she was here. oh how she wished to leap out of the carriage with unconfined joy and stretch every part of her aching body. but no, first there would have to be formalities. she would have to meet all the royalty of the french castle: the king, his lords, the princes, et cetera and greet them all with a smile. however, the only thing the girl was excited about was seeing the queen and the princesses. the last that renee saw of them seemed ages ago and she was curious as to how the princesses looked as they were all grown up now. now of course there were the king's lords and other potential men that she could be excited about to find a husband in, but as of the moment, such things didn't quite concern her.
the carriage door opened and renee waited until evangeline stepped out before getting out herself. her legs finally stretched to their full extent and the girl arched her back just a tiny bit, trying to act subtly, relieved by the disappearing aches. after such things were done, her eyes swept over the french castle and the land around it. it was beautifully landscaped and the castle was gorgeous too. then she turned to the faces that she had longed to see. renee received the hug from river graciously, a smile on her face. "it's been far too long." she said before letting go and watching as river went to her sisters and gave them as well, a hug each. she stood there, her hands folded neatly in front of her, posture upright as she was taught to do. as she was in this position, her eyes began to wander again, looking over the french court and the prince who was greeting the queen and the princesses before again looking at the castle building. she could do it. she could make this her home. actually, she didn't have a choice now. she would have to make it her home.

xxEli was speeding through the woods on snow alongside florin who were heading back to the castle. They had been out riding for quite some time; for about two hours just before meeting with his future wife and queen of france. As he raced through the countryside he thought about the past when they were little how they use to play around and have adventures together and how they use to be best friends, and now they will soon be married. "Florin, we must hurry," he said galloping closer and closer to the castle. Once he was near he galloped to the gate with florin by his side, the guards opened the gate and were lead in, they rode inside and Eli hopped off snow and rubbed his nose, one of the stable boys led snow into the stables. Eli started to walk inside the castle with his big cloak swallowing him up. He walked up to his room and one of the servants had laid his new clothes on the bed, he took of his old clothing and placed the new ones on his body. He adjusted his boots and placed on his jewelry. Then he made sure he looked presentable, and walked out his bedroom door.
xxThe guards led him to florin's room and he walked in, laughing as Florin was also trying to look as presentable as possible. It was no lie, they hadn't seen these women in years, and their joy in women has been at its low with just some girls that come and go. Eli sat down in one of florin's comfy chairs and looked down at his boots. Then he looked up at florin who was finalizing. Eli said," I wonder how they all look now; and if their personalities have changed," he said; he was somewhat worrisome, but had a grin on his face. One of the guards knocked and Eli told him he could come in. The guard said they were on their way and were near the castle. Eli let him know he was about to go meet up with everyone in a moment. He stood up and ran his fingers through his hair pushing it backwards, but there was always a piece of hair that would stick out. He looked at florin and signaled him that it was time to go. The guard opened the door and he walked out with florin right at his tail.
xxThe guards walked right next to him, and they reached the front of the castle. Astor appeared at his side, he hugged his brother and greeted him. Davy also came and stood next to florin who was right behind Eli. They noticed the carriage outside and saw marcel already greeting each and every one of them. Eli had told him to wait, but he never ended up listening. They announced the king and his brother; as well as florin and davy and all together they walked out to greet the ladies. Eli smiled as he reached river who looked ever so lovely. She still looked the same as she looked ten years ago. " My lady," he said looking at river who was hugging the other princesses. Once she saw him and walked towards him, he kissed her hand and gave her a big and warm hug for a while. He had really missed her, they were childhood best friends, and they hadn't seen each other in years. They conversed for a few minutes, sort of catching up and Eli then went to greet everyone else who arrived. He instantly recognized arrow and greeted her followed by brooke, they had grown up so quickly. He felt like just yesterday, they were all going on adventures. After he greeted them, he saw two young ladies who hopped off the last carriage.
xxOne of which had a dog at her side, he couldn't help but smile at her. He walked up to the lady and said," I believe we haven't met." He greeted her and was amused with her dog, she seemed different from most ladies he knew. He smiled at her one more time and walked to the other young lady. He greeted her as well as found her quite nice. Once he finished greeted them, he saw his lords greet everyone as well. He walked back to his guards and told them to show the rest of them where they will be staying once they all finish, and also inform them a feast will be prepared soon. He slowly walked to river and they interlocked arms, walking to the inside of the castle.

the young princess rested her head on the back of the carriage seat, they were just arriving into France. Where her older sister, River will be married to Eli, the heir to the throne of France. She looked to her side to see Arrosa sitting next to her, Brooke couldn't see her face, but she thinks that Arrow would be excited. Brook was nervous to be in a different country, but she was really excited to see River. Looking out the carriage window, Brooke saw that they were going to soon arrive in the palace. Smiling, Brook fiddled with her hands to keep herself occupied.
Stepping outside of the carriage, Brook looked to see River hugging and greeting her ladies. Smiling, she took a moment to look at the castle ... it was beautiful. Before she knew it, River was hugging both Arrow and herself. Hugging back just as tight, Brook replied "I've missed you as well.". Brook turned to see Marcel greet River, Arrow and herself. Smiling fondly at him, "It's nice to be here." she replied in a friendly manner. Brook then greeted Eli, she greeted him as well. Looking at Eli and Marcel, she hasn't seen them in years, they have grown up allot but the memories of all of them together definitely are imprinted in her mind. Smiling Brooke looked at Arrow, "You excited?" Brook asked her sister. She looked around the area, observing how beautiful it all was. Shaking her head, Brook focused on Arrow.

xxxThroughout the day Florin was at Eli’s side, ensuring to comfort the wry king, knowing he was rather nervous towards the moment to come in which his future queen was soon to arrive. The thought seemed absolutely foreign to the young man, constantly looking at Eli out of the corner of his eyes, recalling all of the times in the past they had shared together, and now he was to be married. Not only married, but he was royalty. It was nice to get along with him as well as he did, being is it caused for an ability for the two young men to talk to one another about things that no one else could hear or be a part of. It was this special connection that brought them so close to one another, extremely trusting and loyal to one another. Although Florin wasn’t exactly nervous towards the events for the day, he was rather uneasy, hopeful that all things would run smoothly and follow the set plans in which had been finalized days before. The castle was very well prepared for the arrival of the many beautiful young women, and Florin was no exception. Cleanly shaven, hair perfectly groomed, he was proud to be at Eli’s side, and wished to look the utmost finest for the sake of his closet friend’s reputation.
xxxThere was nothing in which soothed Florin like that of a pleasant horse ride, atop his high steed, Cornell, a large Andalusian stallion in which he had cared for since its birth. The two young men recalled memories from times now gone, though forever in their minds. Some were better than others, several mentions of various women in which they had no luck with causing for sly remarks from Florin, curious as to what such women would think of the two now. The thought also brought upon Florin the realization that Eli would no longer be participating in the same manner as he had before, no longer to be at his side, since his wife to be was now near, and things appeared set in stone. He couldn’t resist but feel ever so slightly down at the thought, knowing very well his relation with Eli might soon begin to fall apart, knowing the young king had more important things to put his time and attention towards. Florin attempted to shake off the negative thoughts, but truth be told, they lingered, constantly nagging him. The young man came to the conclusion that he didn’t need anyone to bring happiness into his life, and that Eli or not, he would manage just as well as he had beforehand.
xxxFlorin nodded his head in understanding as Eli demanded that they must hurry, his legs tightening ever so slightly around the girth of the stallion beneath him, causing for the dapple grey beast to quicken his pace, galloping near the castle. Upon arriving, the young man dismounted with ease, and would have much rather taken Snow and Cornell to the stable himself, but for the sake of Eli and being fashionably prepared for the arrival of the women, he resisted his typical behavior, handing Cornell’s reins to a trusted stable hand, though all the while giving a look that assured the young man best be gentle with the treasured stallion. Following Eli inside of the castle, he watched as Eli parted ways so that he could go and change into something much more formal, though his style was drastically different from that of Florin’s. Florin entered into his own room, nearly complete as he heard the door begin and open. His eyes darted to the door as he watched Eli enter, he quickly buttoned his pants, showing a small, disapproving frown. “I certainly hope you to be more courteous towards the young women,” he mused with a soft grin, though truly it wasn’t an issue for him, the two were quite used to being around one another in all types of situations.
xxxTurning where he stood as Eli took a seat, Florin tightened the tie around his neck, finalizing his clean look as he glanced towards the king, as though asking for approval over his Victorian style vest. Florin has quite the collection, as Eli would very well know, being as he was never one to try and fit in. He knew it was nothing near as formal and luxurious as Eli’s dress, but that was precisely what Florin had aimed for. He wished to look presentable and nice, though by no means to stick out, or even dare to compete with the grand appearance of Eli. Florin cocked his head ever so slightly to one side as he listened to his friend speak, soon responding, “I would assume them to be for the most part, quite similar,” he mused quietly in response to Eli’s wonder, shooting him a rather knowing look, as though questioning if they had changed much over the years. Yes, and no. They had matured certainly, both physically and mentally, but they still share the times in which they kick back to the past, and the title of lord and king is the last thing on their minds. “However much they have changed, I am sure is for the better,” Florin was unable but resist and add, a devious light entering his gaze as he showed a quick, knowing wink towards Eli.
xxxUpon being told of the arrival of the ladies, Florin followed Eli out of the room, adjusting his attire ever so slightly, glancing at various reflections of himself, at times running a hand through his head of hair to ensure it to all be well in place. As Astor and Davy joined them, Florin showed a small, friendly smile towards his fellow lord, making small talk as they made their way to wait for the ladies to show. It wasn’t but moments before the carriages arrived, Florin walking tall and proud behind Eli, his gaze scanning over the women in which would be making this castle their new home. There was one in which stole his immediate attention, the future queen, of course. She was dressed in a very regal and extravagant manner, taking away from the other young women around her. Knowing his place, Florin remained towards the side, giving curt nods and showing an inviting smile whenever one was shown to him. He felt no need to speak of his delight to see them, knowing that everyone else made sure of that, he felt no desire to drown them, knowing if it were ever himself in their position, the first thing he would seek for is space. Therefore, as the gentleman he is, he did so.
xxxUnfortunately, a final lady stepped out of the carriage, and her beauty was utterly striking, looking away for a short moment to ensure he wasn’t caught staring, but it was difficult to resist the urge and let himself look over her symmetric, beautiful features. As Eli took River’s arm in his own, Florin took a step towards the last woman in which had emerged from the elegant carriage, bowing as he extended an arm, hand offering to take hers in greeting. “Lady Renee, it is a pleasure,” he greeted in one of the various manners in which he and Eli had practiced. Florin wasn’t one to show great affection towards others, tending to appear rather cold and distant, but towards this particular young lady by the name of Renee, he was more than delighted to extend a warm greeting. Upon greeting her, the two made their way behind Eli and River, his posture ever so regal as he entered the castle, waiting a step behind to ensure she walked in before himself, always making a point to be courteous. The interior of the castle was stunning, as to be expected, and Florin remained at ease as he allowed for the women to take their chance and examine the care that had been put into awaiting their arrival.
xxxThere stood Florin, tattooed skin partially hidden, though unfortunately, some remained visible below the cuff of his sleeves, though he shrugged it off, knowing there wasn’t anything to do about it, being as the ink displayed upon his flesh was a permanent part of him. Many disputed Eli choosing him as one of his trusted lords, though only the few men in which made the group of friendship and trust would ever understand what others could not. As harsh and intimidating as Florin might appear on the outside, he had the ability to open up and reveal such affection and warmth, that no one would ever assume it to be such a known quality of his. Examining those that stood around him, he caught Davy’s gaze, dipping his head in acknowledgement towards his close friend, hoping that they might be able and find time with one another later in the day so that they could discuss various events of today, knowing fully well that Eli would most likely be occupied elsewhere. As much as River intrigued him, he felt a strong desire to resist all temptation towards the beautiful, young queen, knowing very well that she was to be wed to Eli, and that was not anything any sane man would interfere with.
xxxUnless of course, you happen to be Florin. The moments that passed by in which River stood before him, he was unable to resist but admire her, and at times enjoying the light within her eyes. He was determined to find her later on whenever it was at all possible, and try and determine how this young woman had developed over the years. With as beautiful as she was, and the confidence in which she held, he was almost certain she was one in which desired attention and affection, knowing that he was more than capable of delivering in such manners to her. The more the thoughts began to race through his troubled mind, the more unsettled he grew, soon turning his attention to Renee, offering a small, charming grin as his gaze met hers. Here was another equally intriguing young woman, though for one reason or another, he felt much more in check when in her presence, and much more careful of her feelings towards him. “If ever you desire a tour of the castle and its grounds, please, feel free to request me to do so, I would be delighted,” he spoke, and it was only true, there was nothing he enjoyed more than showing guests around the castle in which he had come to know and love.

RIVER LIVELY
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
the queen || single || nineteen years old || tagged; marcel, florin, eli
river was quite distracted by the beautiful view of the castle. it was huge and beautiful. she remembered running down the halls and playing hide and seek. the castle had many different places to hide which made the game even more fun. she would get tired of being the seeker and go find other things to do and leave eli and his brother still hiding for the whole day. she remembered how mad they use to get at her when she did that. her attention was brought back at marcel who welcomed her to France. "its great to be back." she said with a sweet smile. she didn't think she could ever get used to having eyes on her all the time. no matter where she went she always had guards a few feet behind her. they were always outside of her bed chambers and there when she was eating. most would be use to it by now she certainly was not.
her blue eyes looked toward the entrance of the castle when the king of France was announced. she felt kind of nervous since she had not seen Eli since they were children. she wrote notes back and forth for a while but that ended quickly since she had more important things to do in Scotland. she was not sure how she felt about marrying him, it would more than likely ruin the friendship they had since all their time would spent on work and no play. she would defiantly do a lot of fun things and get herself into some trouble before the wedding. she was shocked when she saw how much he changed, he defiantly did not look like a weak little boy anymore. there was someone walking behind him and right away she recognized it was florin. florin and herself use to sneak out of their rooms all the time and go exploring in the dark, their close friendship had to be kept secret since she was engaged to eli at such a young age.
when Eli made his way over to her she smiled when he took her hand and kissed it. she always had feelings for him but she never could tell if it was because she had a crush on him or if it was just friendly feelings. she figured she would find out soon enough since she would be living here in the French court. "someone grew up." she said looking at him with her blue eyes. she wanted to catch up more with the others but before she knew it Eli locked arms with her. as they passed by Florin she smiled at him. she knew she would be running into him later and she couldn't wait but catch up with him. as her and eli walked into the castle she smiled at everyone who welcomed her. she walked with great posture and friendly smiled. if she wanted to be a good queen she had to give the impression of one.
the castle hasn't changed a bit since she was last here. it wasn't even a little bit dirty and there were pictures and decorations everywhere. even though she was here only a few short years ago the castle still took her breath away. she always felt small in it since it was so large. she knew they would be having a party and feast for her return and she was not looking forward to attending it. it meant she would have to talk to many people and pretend she actually liked them. she turned and looked at eli. "nothing has changed since I was here last." she said as she looked around the castle once more.

If Astor was one thing, it was timely. He had spent the morning visiting the local weapons master, to get extra arrows crafted. While the young man was generally good at keeping track of his arrows, he had found on his last hunt that he'd had to share some with his company, only to have none returned. It wasn't important, but still.. Nevertheless, he had decided to venture to the crafter's home not but a short ride from the castle, to replace the missing ones. When he had left the specifications with the man, Astor made his way back to the castle, freshened up and changed his clothes, and strolled out into the courtyard just as the gates were opening. His brother, Eli, came marching down the steps only a moment later, hugging him briefly in greeting. Marcel stood by him while their brother's lords came to line up as well. They were all dressed in fine clothes, though naturally, Eli was the most striking. The lot of them were well-groomed, shaven, and stood with immaculate posture, thus appearing very formal. It was almost something of a rarity, to see them all looking so prim and proper. As the carriages were drawn in through the gates and across the courtyard, Astor glanced to his eldest brother from the corner of his eye, then to Marcel, before turning his gaze straight ahead to rest on the set of carriages.
The first contained the Queen of Scotland, naturally. She swept out in an elegant motion, in a fine dress only made for royalty. Her sisters exited the next carriage, and two anonymous ladies from the third. They clustered in together as a group, with River leading the way. The last time Astor had seen her, she'd been but a child - an unreliable player of hide and seek. Now she stood tall and proud, with rich dark hair falling over her shoulders and a piercing gaze. Marcel was the first to open his big mouth and greet her, naturally. He shot his brother a look that screamed rude, but the young man didn't appear to see him. His gaze shifted to the princesses - easy to distinguish, Astor spotted Arrosa first, with her hair dark as obsidian, alongside her sister. Brooklyn was willowy, and looked more like her eldest sister. Arrow had always been sly and cunning, and so often had seemed to land herself in trouble as a child. Brook had been a little more subtle in her adventurous nature, he recalled. The pair were exchanging quiet conversation, so as not to be caught staring, he looked to the two strangers behind them - nameless ladies, both visually similar for their blonde hair. One was taken under Florin's wing almost immediately, the other merely analyzing faces with a sense of subtly, no doubt trying to figure out who was genuine and who was not.
Astor turned his gaze to greet the queen, but she had already been taken by the arm by Eli, and was being walked up the steps through to the entrance hall. Meanwhile, Marcel was greeting the two princesses, and Florin was speaking with one of the nameless ladies. "It's good to see you both again," he said with an easy smile, directing the words to Arrow and Brook. He stood rather awkwardly for a moment, before catching the eye of the lady slightly off to the sidelines. After a brief moment of hesitation and debate, he drew the young woman into the conversation out of politeness. "You've brought company, I see," he said to the princesses, nodding towards the blonde lady. "I do not believe we have had the pleasure."

EVANGELINE★
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
[ queen's lady ][ twenty two ][ no crush ][ tagged; the court ]
In the midst of her thinking, the king himself approached her. Standing properly, well, considering the corset was pushing her gut in so she did stand straight up, Evangeline looked at him, a ginger smile tugging at her lips. Giving a tiny curtsy, she then spoke her name. "I'm Evangeline," the tone of her voice a lot chirpier than usual. Of course Angie couldn't deny the fact Eli was an attractive, young king. As he eyed up the border collie at her side, her eyes wandered down to Monty, then back up to Eli. "And this is Monty," she added in, a generous grin on her lips as he continued on to see Renee. The other lady wasn't her favorite, and she felt Renee did not like her back. It was tolerable, but there were some things the drove her up the wall about the other queen's lady. Shifting her legs, Angie looked at the ground for a moment, her eyes returning to look around the court yard.
Her attention was drawn to Florin clinging to Renee like a bee to honey. Her gaze went uneasily to the ground, back up to one of the princes. The youngest, from what she believed. As he nonchalantly pulled her into the conversation, a forced, yet deceiving grin danced on the corners of her lips. "I'm Evangeline," speaking her name once again to the man in front of her, his attention going from the princesses to her. Wishing to just be out of the presence of everyone, Angie tried to rush this as much as possible. There would be plenty of speaking at the feast. Not that she was rude, just a rather lone wolf rather than a social butterfly. She put up with people when needed, but too much people time could make Evangeline rather cranky and frustrated. Not to mention, people were so...fake. Hidden behind a mask. Life was just a big masquerade, everyone parading around with a face that wasn't their's over their true self. In France, she knew that this was nothing to be surprised about. I mean, everywhere you go, there will be people like that, but this was France. It was the monarchy, and they wore to most deceiving masks of all. Including her, but her terms were different than most. There were no scandals, just things that were best to stay hidden.
As River and Eli linked arms and began their way inside, Evangeline followed right behind. Monty padding at her side, not going ahead or falling behind. Her hands smoothed out the dress as they all headed inside. Taking in the last of the scenery as they entered the large palace, Evangeline just looked in awe. It was defiantly a beautiful palace, there was no doubt about it. The girls were led by a guard to their chambers, assuming she'd get her own, small one. This palace seemed big enough to have enough room for 7 Queen's Ladies. If she had to share a room with Renee, things would get messy, very quick. Running her slender fingers through her golden locks, she went up some stairs, still following behind the guard and Monty at her side. After what seemed like forever, she was shown to her own room, that she would have to herself. Thank the gods. Her luggage and things had been placed in there already, so all there was left to do was unpack and get ready for the feast.
Figuring her hair could use a little help, she did run a brush through it, gave it a little volume and called it good. Changing into a more suitable dress for the feast, she still managed to sneak boots in rather than pesky, formal shoes, and of course, the knife that was so dear to her, slipped into the right boot, easily hidden by the blue dress. Adjusting the metal, rose garment going around her waist, her eyes landed on Monty, watching her contently from the floor. "I'm sure they won't be allowing pooches," Evangeline murmured slightly, getting down on her knees, petting the dog's head. Monty whined softly and embraced the love from his owner. "Do you think we'd get in trouble for going outside?" A devious grin on her face the the pup yelped quietly and ran to the door. A small chuckle followed behind the dog's actions as Angie stood up and headed towards the door. "A small walk before the feast wouldn't hurt anyone," with that, the two took their leave and headed through the castle to find the closest doorway to the courtyard.
The duo finally found a way outside, and ended up in the gardens of the palace. Monty was running around, not harming anything, and Evangeline walking tranquilly as her eyes took in the rather beautiful scenery. Her currently wavy, blonde hair feel over her shoulder perfectly. In all honesty, she couldn't lie, the country sides of France were breathtaking, and that's where she'd rather be if she had to choose. Tearing apart a leaf from a tree she had picked it from, piece by piece, the green strips fell to the ground. Her eyes wandered up from the leaf in her hand to the path in front of her.

❊..RENEE ABOTT
xx.xx━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
xx.xxqueen's lady - twenty-one - tagged: florin - mood: tired but content
renee remembered the castle. she hadn't been there since she was just a little girl who didn't care about marriage or the future, but a girl who only cared about the present moment. she was expected to find a potential suitors and marry one of them, either a lord or one of high noble status, by her family. after that she was going to have to provide an heir to whomever she married. the ideas of that never really did make the girl nervous but the constant pestering from the people all around her was starting to. sometimes renee wished she was a man. sure there was the need to find a wife and the need for the wife to produce a heir, but at least they wouldn't be the ones giving birth or fearing for their lives if they had a girl or didn't concieve. it was the women who had all the pressure and the pestering.
renee's train of thought about marriage and what happened after that was interrupted by the announcement of the king and his lords. she was having mixed feelings. yes she was excited, but she also was tired. the prospect of not arriving to her bed chambers until after the prepared feast made her want to physically and mentally fall over. however she pushed those thoughts aside, making sure she had perfect posture, her shoulders back, eyes turning from the castle itself to the royalty who lived in it. the king was undeniably attractive, sharp features and all, a charming aura on him. she hoped that he could make river happy. renee's gaze stayed on the king for a few moments, but then she saw the man who was following behind him. now he was the one who had her full attention. he was intimidatingly beautiful. the girl even noticed the small trace of ink of his wrist; of what she did not know. now he was intriguing. he looked older than her, nothing dramatic, but only a few years. renee didn't know how long she had been staring at him all she knew was that when the king came to greet her, she had to take a moment and remember her formalities.
she smiled in return and gave a small curtsy. "your majesty." she said watching as eli passed by her and went to take river's arm. when she her head back into it's normal position, renee realized the man was in front of her. what was his name again? she had once remembered it but that was so long ago. ah, it was florin. "please. the pleasure is all mine lord florin." she gave a polite smile and took his extended arm graciously, looking again at the tattoo only for a moment. as she followed river and eli inside the castle, she looked at the pair. they were well suited for each it so it seemed. renee walked forward into the building looking up, sideways, around, everywhere really. it truly was a stunning place. her being her felt so vague, but yet so familiar. she remembered the nooks and crannies she had once found, but that had been so long ago. perhaps a little independent exploring was going to happen sometime soon. "i might just take you up on that." the girl replied in response to his offer, tilting her head up at florin's face. it was the first time she really had a good look at him. one could potentially cut themselves with his jaw line. "so have you lived in the castle your whole life?" renee asked, her eyes still wandering about. "it's absolutely beautiful."
renee turned her head back, looking at the youngest prince who currently was talking to the princesses and evangeline. he was a nice looking fellow with dark hair and dark eyes. when she caught his eye, the girl gave a small smile before being led by florin further into the palace. it was larger than she had imagined, probably filled with rooms and rooms of extravagance. hopefully she would be able to have her own and would be able to go up to it before the feast. she was in dire need of freshening up and she had hoped to have some peace before going down to such a undoubtedly loud and merry event. but for now renee let florin take the lead and bring her to wherever they were going.

PRINCE MARCEL
──────────────────────────────────────────
The Prince of France | Single | Twenty-three | Tagged; Astor, Renee, Evangeline
Noticing his younger brother standing beside him, Marcel turned toward Astor, giving his brother a friendly smile. "What a lovely day for the Scottish to arrive." Marcel's eyes flicked back and forth between the ladies whom had just arrived and the court of which were awaited there arrival, watching the interactions a bit silently for a moment. After a bit of silence, the flirtatious prince couldn't take being mute anymore and he decided to introduce himself to the queen's ladies. Honestly, the prince was not sure if he'd met them before, or not, he was very bad when it came to faces, and names, for that matter. Striding up to the two ladies, he paused in front of them, glancing at both of them for a moment before speaking in that polished, deep, voice of his. "Hello, ladies." She said, giving them a small, friendly smile. "I do not believe I've had the pleasure," He said, pausing for a moment to take Evangeline's hand in his and kiss it softly. "of meeting either of you." He said, smiling warmly at the two of them. "Please, by all means, correct me if I'm wrong, I'm terrible at remembering even the slightest things." He said, shaking his head slightly, almost as if scolding himself. "I am Prince Marcel." He noticed that Eli had already greeted her, along with Florin trying to pull her into Renee and his' conversation.
After a bit, Marcel saw his older brother interlock arms with River, leading her inside of the castle. He followed close behind, but also giving them enough space to chat, glancing behind him to see as the others started to cluster inside, as well. Marcel went to his room after a bit of conversation, changing into an outfit one of his servants had laid out on his bed for him. He then headed outside, climbing up, high, into a tree. While he was definitely a cocky, flirty, prick, he definitely wasn't your normal prince at times. He was more calm, more real when he was alone. After all, in public, he had to keep up his facade. After a few minutes, he saw the same woman from earlier come outside, along with her dog. He believed her name was Evangeline. Marcel stayed silent for a while, watching from afar, then, she came close and stood under the tree he was perched in. After a moment of sitting there in silence, the man spoke to the woman below him. "Hello, M'lady." He said, smiling down at her as he alerted her of his presence. "I hope I didn't spook you." He said, referring to how she hadn't noticed him in the tree. Slowly, he climbed down from his high perch in the tree, careful not to hit the lady as he made his way to the bottom of the tree. "Not enjoying the castle, much, I see." He said, giving a small grin at her.
"If you'd like, I could show you the more fun parts of the castle, or the grounds." He said, offering her a rather friendly smile. "A lovely lady, like yourself, should have nothing but the best guide." He said, giving a small chuckle, referring to himself. Marcel straightened out his vest for a moment, fixing the buttons on it. He then messed with his hair a bit, glancing toward the sky as he did so, before returning his gaze to the lady in front of him, waiting for a response form the girl standing underneath the tree with him.
