Approximately 1254 b.c. to be exact. xylocation of origin;Thebes, Anciant Egyptprevious job/social rank;Favored servant to the Pharaoh Ramesses IIpersonality;Humble from the life of a servant but aware of her own worth, Nathifa is an
oddity. At most times, she is a kind and caring young women who is used to being
pampered. Beneath that though, lies a core of steel. She grew up knowing what it means
to be hungry. What it means to work for each and every meal. She is a fighter in a
spiritual sense if not a strictly physical sense. (She was taught how to fight by the guards
but never had to use it much due to a life of luxury.) She's curious and adventurous,
never afraid to explore in either on of her forms and try to learn new things. history;Born to two servants of the Pharaoh, Nathifa was destined for a life of servitude.
Even as a young girl, she was taught how to cook and clean alongside the other
servant's children. In fact, it was when she was seven years old that she began to
work in the kitchen with the other women. When at age thirteen she was ordered
to dawn special clothes and serve drinks and wine to the Pharoh and his guests,
she was terrified beyond all words. All that she could think about was the terrible
punishment that would befall her if she so much as spilt a drop of wine in front
of her king. It was to her utter surprise that she made it through the night without
incident. Days later, she was surprised when once again she was ordered to serve
the Pharaoh. Apparently, he had taken a liking to her and had requested once her
specifically to serve him. For months, it was her job to serve him at every meal.
Then one winter day, after she had been serving the Pharaoh personally for close
to three years, she was given a new outfit and ordered to don it and follow her
boss to the throne room. Once again terrified out of her mind, she was again
surprised when she discovered that from that day on she was to be the Pharaoh's
personal servant. She would shadow him daily, and do anything and everything
that he commanded of her. To her luck and relief, he saw her more as a favored
daughter and friend than as a future wife. For a year, she served him gloriously
until her seventeenth birthday. It was on that night that she was attacked by a
jealous servant girl. Scarred and unable to defend herself with only the jar
of water she was carrying, she ran to the only place she could, towards the
Pharaoh's rooms where there were guards stationed. Hopefully they would
protect her as well. Little did she realize though, that as she neared the room
of her king, she shifted into her other form, a long and glorious jackal. The
guards, seeing her transformation, immediately seized the other servant
and let her into her kings room. There she knelt by his feet and whined in
fear upon realizing she was no longer human. The Pharaoh, recognizing
her for what she was, a gift from the gods, comforted her that night.
Then for the next six years of her life, she sat at the foot of the Pharaoh's
throne. In both of her forms, she was treated as if she was a princess
herself. She wore clothes spun of the finest linen and jewelry made of
gold and silver. Upon her head she wore an elaborate wig over her
own shortly cut hair. In her jackal form, she was gifted a collar
of silver and gold to wear. Over the years though, she discovered that
she was able to shift her form from jackal to wolf to dog with concentration.
She lived happily until the day that the queen finally grew jealous of her
husband's servant. Bribing a servant girl, the queen slipped a posion into
Nathifa's wine. By the next morning, she was dead. In order to honor her,
the king had her mummified and laid to rest in a hidden tomb. But, per
his wife's wishes, he had all mentions of her name erased from history. sexuality/romanticism;Panromantic Demisexualcrush;nonepartner;nonespouse;nonehuman faceclaim;;Elizabeth Taylorcanine faceclaim;;black backed jackal
