heyden has always been one to play with the

a wink and a kiss on the cheek if he thinks their

Kyla is a troublesome teenager with clothes that
parents will always fail to understand. She adorns
her hair with flower crowns and loose braids, which
compliment her over sized sweaters and doc martins.
Her hair has been dyed every pastel color possible,
but is currently at a dulled brown with a tone of
blonde from the sun. her appearance sometimes
puts people off, they view her as a casual, laidback,
kind individual. If you told this to her parents, they would
sadly shake their head and leave you with a amused scoff.
Truly, Kyla is extremely high-maintenance, and enjoys
making trouble for others. This is mostly hidden beneath
her quiet cover. Her mouth is rarely open and talking,
more often possessed with irratating smirk, or a
flirty smile.

It is fairly fitting that Kyla was born on a snowy winter's
morning. After all, she spent so many mornings on a
mountain which was blanketed with snow. Her life is
lived in the cold with her snowboard as her companion.
From the age of seven, she was racing down the hills
on a board, and within a couple years she was travelling
the province of British Columbia to compete. She excels
at the rails, but is held back by the big air. Winning
seemed to follow her everywhere, broken dreams trailing
in her wake. She never made much friends at the
competitions, she did her runs, won then dissapeared
from the mountain. When she did get in a conversation
with a fellow competitor, the seventeen year old caused
them to stomp off, sending snow in her face. Kyla never
made it a habit to sugarcoat things.

born in frisco, colorado to a poor family, nathan has never had any real pressure
to be the best at anything. naturally that nonchalant temperament rubbed off on
nate and by high school he had fallen into the trouble making 'skater boy' stereotype.
sophomore year, nathan came across a flyer advertising a local snowboarding competition.
the prize; one hundred and fifty bucks. the decision on if to enter was clear. i mean nate
had been skateboarding for as long as he could remember. could snowboarding really be that
different? with the help of his local community center (because his family did not have the
resources to help him themselves) nathan discovered the sport wasn't the same, but it
wasn't entirely different either. nathan ended up winning that small competition, and
though small, the win struck something deep down inside of him. he didn't have to be like
his parents. he didn't have to 'just get by' in life. this sport; if he really worked at it he
could be good. great even. and after googling the average professional snowboarder's
paygrade, nathan decided to trade in road rash for frostbite.
with his skateboarding background it came as no surprise when nathan mastered the rails and
halfpipe. nate falters immensely when it comes to slopestyle. his choppy and rushed style of riding
just doesn't cooperate with the clean cut pzazz slopestyle is all about. he just doesn't care about
quality technique or safety aspects of shredding. his fearlessness and speed able him to catch
big air, but not without hurting himself every time. though he is open minded and truly wants to
better himself, nathan finds more often than not his pride can get in the way of that. now nathan
isn't the perfect rider. or most talented. or even the most experienced. but what nathan does
have is potential and a willingness to unlock it. someone just needs to help him find the key.

xxxxxthe bus right was excruciating. the entire ride there, felix was moving left, right, up, and down trying to find a comfortable position. the task seemed to be near impossible due to the fact that all of his luggage was down below his feet. that and his brother, and his best friend were next to him. they both had absolutely no understanding of what personal space was. it drove felix nuts. a few elbow nudges and grunts weren't enough to let the two boys know that they were annoying him, so felix had given up on the fight around mile five. he had no idea how long ago that was, time seemed to merge carelessly together thanks to the excitement and the anxiety poor felix armstrong was feeling. it only grew worse when the bus stopped, and the academy was there, staring right at him.
xxxxxthe building was astounding. what with it's old-ski town bricks, its glossy windows, and the doors that screamed 'open me'. although he felt as if his stomach was going to leap out of his throat, he knew this was where he belonged. it was the only explanation that made the feeling he was feeling make at least some sense. the bus driver stood up, went on and on about regulations, code, and basically everything else felix could care less about, and then finally, he dismissed the students. freedom. finally. felix jumped right out of his seat, pulling his luggage up with him. "spence, wake up roussel." felix pointed to the french canadian with his chin. how could he manage two hours of solid sleep on a bus like this? felix somewhat envied him.
xxxxx"I'll meet you inside." felix said, studying the bus one last time before pulling his backpack over his shoulder, and walking down the wide aisle of the bus with a fleet of luggage trailing behind him. he had managed to pack and take everything he really cared about with him. it was like he was moving away from home. it sure did feel like it. maybe that was why this was so stressful, but exciting at the same time? that's what moving was like, right? he wouldn't know. he always went back home.
xxxxxfelix pushed through the doors of the building, and was quickly greeted by the warmth it had to offer. the room was very casual, but nicely decorated with variations of browns and reds. there were a handful of people scattered about, they looked as if they all worked here. it was a lot to take in, and the overwhelming smell of hot chocolate made it worse for felix, but it calmed him in some strange way. when he finally had time to think, he took a seat, pulling his luggage along with him. the chairs around him were empty, and the staff all looked at him funny. his cheeks turned a bright shade of red, and it was then when he realized he shouldn't have rushed in.
