- - height [ feet ; inches ] :
[ 6'1" ]
- hair color:
[ His hair is a rather dark, chocolaty brown. He does have natural reddish and golden brown strands hidden among the mess of dark hair, but they're usually only noticeable in the right light our outside in the sunshine. ]
- eye color:
[ Dark, roasted chestnut would just about sum it up. His eyes are such a deep brown that sometimes it's hard to tell the difference between his pupil and iris. ]
- skin tone :
[ His skin tone is fairly average, if anything a bit on the pasty side. He doesn't regularly tan or anything, but his natural skin tone makes up for it. ]
- bodily build
[ The boy's frame would best be described as lean, but somewhat muscular. He's no body builder, and doesn't attend the gym on a regular basis, but he could hold his own under most case scenario's. He's by no means considered skinny, as he does have meat on his bones, he's just not bulky. His muscle is toned and compact, and is overall a result of his summer job; physical labor will do that. Overall in one word, fit would do the trick. ]
- body modifications
[ He has a scar on the back of his neck, identical to that of the inverted triangle left on the cured. He has not had the procedure, but had the mark branded where it left an identical scar to those who have endured the procedure. ]

[ He sees love as a dangerous thing, having witness the series of events following his friend's fall. Therefore, he's rather reluctant to the idea of love, or admit that deep down he see's the good it does. Seeing his friend in love, Har swore it was the only length of time he saw his friend truly happy. He theorizes that it may in fact be a good thing, but is too afraid of the endgame that he has never opened up enough to anyone, nor with his stubbornness will he likely ever. ]

[ Harland is more of an observer than instigator. He's rather reserved and to himself, as he prefers to people watch than actually engage. He often doesn't really know what to say around people he first meets, and therefore when he doesn't have anything to say the boy doesn't fill the void with conversation, he just remains silent leading people to find the encounter awkward. He's rather blunt and is known to step on people's feelings every now and then, unintentionally of course, due to having no filter. Nevertheless, he has the best intentions, just doesn't realize that the truth hurts. All in all, Har can seem rather indifferent toward people, and selfish, but he's by no means some cynical, heartless monster in reality. Despite how hard he tries to deny connections toward people, he does have a heart. When he gets comfortable enough around someone to call them a friend, Harland is all in. He's possibly one of the most loyal people you can find, and actually the most passionate, despite how he hides it under snide comments and sarcasm. It's sort of a defense mechanism, really, his personality. Once you break through the hard shell, there's actually a soft, warm inside. ]

[ -- Harland hates it when a teacher erases the board, but misses that one little spot, or just messily leaves patches all over. It's infuriating.
-- He always pushes in the little tabs on the lids of soft drinks. It's impulse.
-- It drives him crazy when one of his hoodie strings is longer than the other; he always has to fix it then and there before moving on with the rest of his life.
-- Har is a serial pebble kicker.
-- He's known to continue on with an argument, even when he realizes he's wrong. A boy can't suffer wounded pride.
-- Harland's a big eye roller. He just can't help it; some people just deserve it.
-- He's a pencil chewer. Enough said.
-- He's not necessarily prone to fake listening to someone, but he'll let them carry on without saying much or paying any attention nonetheless. ]
- - f a m i l y :
[ Harland comes from a small family of four; his mother and father, evil cat Cass, and himself. ]
- b r i e f h i s t o r y :
[ The teen was born just outside the large city of Los Angeles, but since then his family has migrated all over the country. He's never really known any place as home, and instead relates the word to his rebellious parents and devious feline. The boy used to share the same views as his parents, that love was powerful and should not be cured from people as it is. However, with the death of his friend the boy began to have a change in opinion, and began to drift from his parents. With all said, the boy now isn't really attached to the concept of home, or his family nonetheless. He often spends his time out until dusk wandering and thinking to himself, maybe drawing or listening to music on occasion. Since the death of his best friend, Harland rarely is accompanied by another human being, though he occasionally fraternizes with those who don't turn their nose up at his distance. The events following his friend falling for some girl have stuck with the boy, and are the result of his reformed persona. In a sense the whole scenario has been beneficial, as it has prevented suspicion about the boy's false scar. ]
