Bump. A pothole in the road threw France in a more upright position as she bumped her head hard against the glass of the window where she had fallen asleep. She grimaced as she rubbed her sore head with her hand, frowning hard at Roy-the-driver. Off course it wasn't true, but to France it felt like the maneuver was on purpose - just to wake her to this monotonous nightmare. It has been the hundredth time that she had fallen into the relief of sleep, but she gets woken in the same way a baby falls off a bed and afterwards feels miserable to wake into this dreadful world every time she drifts off. The athletic girl of eighteen looked very much like a moody toddler then; with her short sun streaked hair all crimped into the look alike of a bird nest and her cheeks rosy from resting on the window sill and her expression very very displeased.
Daring to open her blurry eyes she noticed that the road was still long and monotonous with every passing scenery looking much the same in the misty weather. Rain blew against the window as if the setting of this bizarre situation was inspired by a very pessimistic screen writer. "...We write novels in our head," Came a sentence through her headphones that played a song for the thousandth time going through her iPod's playlist. The irony of the lyrics by Rusty Clanton that came through to her head would've made her laugh if the irony wasn't so extremely disappointing.

France ardently pulled off her earphones off her head in an irritated manner. She heaved an exasperated sigh and looked at the other faces around her in the bus, hoping that she would catch attention and someone would catch the hint, but although the rest of the group also seemed exhausted with the annoying and tedious situation, everyone just seemed to be absent in their own thoughts, trying to accept matters as they were. Shifting her weight so she could sit cross legged on the seat, she pulled her very tanned and toned legs together and absent minded scratched her world atlas tattoo that made it's possessing position on her ankle. The idea of it's existence was to remind her that no matter where in the world she found herself, the world is in her. Adventure was always within her soul and it was just up to her to find the courage to play along with the audacious story she writes in her own mind. Glancing around the bus, filled with imaginable faces that leaves her with no inspiration at the moment, the thought hit her that it wasn't supposed to be like this - this boredom; this apathy! Rolling her eyes and shaking her short hair in a childish manner, she exhaled another exaggerated sigh, hoping she would make someone angry with her attitude and attract something that would stimulate her easily unsatisfied nature.
No reaction.
The situation crawled into her restless figure making her feel like she is going to die of exasperation if change doen't come soon. Hurriedly she looked out of the window, hoping to find a consoling escape in the world outside but the rain and mist wrapped itself across her heart and along with the droning sound of the bus's old engine, she felt like she was drowning. I AM going to drown, if I don't do something. Everything warped itself into this irrational feeling that blew her over and made her suddenly grab the two head parts of the front seats, coming erect onto her knees and yelling at Roy and everyone else;
"OH MY WORD! Can we just STOP?! It's been hours," almost hopping off her seat with excitement, her cheeks reddening with her temper and her curls standing wildly around her head. Another sudden and 'purposeful' pothole made her lose her balance and fall to the front of the bus, between Roy and Noah; who was riding shotgun.

Lily Mabel
_____________________________________________________________________

-------->Lily's eyes wandered curiously among the few objects that loomed outside the window on the side of the lonely road, her glance bouncing from one rain-soaked object to the other as they passed in a blur. The ice-cold window fogged up with her every peacefully exhaled breath and the heart she had delicately traced with her finger slowly but surely faded away with every new layer of fog. The continuous humming of the Volkswagen minibus' engine was muffled by the rain splattering hard against the windows, the droplets sliding down it as if they were racing each other to the bottom. The sounds reaching her ears were those of the pattering of the rain, the casual shift of position on the seats and the soft music playing on the van's radio, although she couldn't quite distinguish which song was playing. The van wasn't suffocatingly stuffy inside from the warm breaths accumulating against the icy windows, but she still wished to open the window slightly for fresh air to seep into the van and into her lungs.
-------->Sitting quietly and contently on her side of the bus, she glanced over at the others questioningly, hoping she would catch a glimpse of a hint in their facial expressions of what thoughts were blowing through their minds, like the wind and rain were blowing through hers. They were all awfully quiet, except for Francis heaving the occasional sigh of pure exasperation. Arthur sat staring out of the opposite window, across the imaginary line Lily had drawn in the middle of the long seat, for she was careful to not invade his big bubble of thinking space. She thought of him as an astronaut, always captivated in his absent-mindedness between the millions of constellations he had either really discovered or prefers to think exist. Lily peeked over the top of the middle seat as she and Arthur, the two dreamers, were sitting on the back seat of the van. Ingrid seemed to have started a new drawing, although Lily was intrigued as to how she could manage to draw while the road was eminently bumpy and uneven. Ingrid's ash blonde hair fell over her shoulders and covered the sketch, so Lily was unable to satisfy her own curiosity as to what lovely artwork Ingrid was working on. Francis, on the other hand, sprawled herself out carelessly on the seat, oblivious of how much she was crowding Ingrid's space to sit comfortably, with her white earphones dangling loosely from her ears and a frown slightly dimpling across her forehead.
-------->Lily laid her hands on the seat in front of her, careful not to pull Ingrid's hair, and shifted her eyes to the rear-view mirror at the front of the van, noticing the concentration painted across Roy's furrowed brows in its cloudy reflection. His eyes were fixated on the road ahead and both of his hands gripped the steering wheel firmly. The sight of him caused her stomach to knot with alarm, so she swallowed hard and lastly inspected Noah sitting shotgun beside Roy. His hands rested casually on his knees and his fingers tapped to the beat of the song on the radio. She was surprised that he could hear it above all the noise of the rain and the bumpy road and the minibus’ engine, but she guessed he just had a good ear for music. A smile played around her mouth corners as she admired him, his hair slightly curling over his ears and his cheekbones catching the little amount of light shining through the windscreen. He was unaware of her staring at him... As always.
-------->The road trip thus far had been uneventful besides the intriguing pouring rain, yet the lot had been sitting quietly and obediently in the minibus without complaints for nearly four hours. Some were getting impatient now, especially Francis, who's eyes seemed to have sparked an undying impatient fire. Lily observed the situation when Francis snapped, nearly falling in between Roy and Noah in the front seat when the van hit a big bump in the road. Lily couldn't help but chuckle at the sight. Francis doesn't think before doing something, she thought to herself amusingly. But I won't volunteer to think on her behalf.
-------->Lily sighed softly. "So, what do we do now? We can't stop and climb out in the rain, it's too cold." She pulled her sweater closer over her shoulders and ducked her chin so the warm wooly texture rubbed against it. The road has been long, and her backside felt quite tender from all the sitting, although she didn't mind - it was a road trip, after all, and the rain wasn't something she wished would go away.

╚═══════
It had been a drizzly afternoon, the type of day that could never quite decide what exactly it wanted to do. One minute it would be nice and bright, the sun showing it's face in an attempt to dry the puddles that soaked the long stretch of road. But then just as it was beginning to warm up to being out of it's hiding place, the rain would come back again- sometimes in modest amounts, but mostly in large unreserved torrents that never ceased to succeeded in drenching everything bellow that happened to be out with no shelter, and therefor at it's mercy.

Even when the sun was out it never quite managed to be cheery though, because there was a bitter wind blowing from out on the sea. And along with the frequent shows and threatening grey clouds, it made for a rather sullen atmosphere- similar to that of the mini van holding six people who were making their way steadily along the coast line.

It was during one of these outbursts of rain that Archer let his gaze wander from the window he had been staring out for the past while. He had completely lost track of time by now, having been absorbed in his own small world where stars, geography, and other delightful subjects reigned supreme. So of course the idea that maybe the rest of his traveling companions weren't having quite so much of an enjoyable time hadn't crossed his mind at all until he finally noticed that the van was quiet, absent of any of the excited chatter that had caused him to shut away into himself when they first started off.

He had purposefully chosen his seat, right at the back of the mini bus to the far right, as a way of avoiding the rowdy noise that would take place when they first set off. Evidently the excitement had long worn off though, judging by the long huffs coming from nearer the front where Ingrid, France, and the other two boys sat.

A tall boy of dark features and whimsical brown eyes, Archer was well used to being on his own, even if this meant simply reverting to auto pilot and making it seem as if he was completely unaware of what was going on around him. Which was true in the sense that he never completely took in what was said or asked of him when he spaced out like that; though it can't be said that he intentionally ignored people. Either way, it certainly woke him up when France suddenly yelled at the driver.

Archer looked up when a start. His face coloured slightly with the realisation that he hadn't taken any notice what so ever of what the others were apparently suffering, but he hastily put to it down to the growing humidity that was beginning to fog up the edge of the windows. A small sigh sounded to his left, and he glanced briefly in Lily's direction when she replied.

Of all the people who could have chosen to plonk themselves in the back with him, he was glad Lily had been left with that spot. She was less likely to try involve him in their conversations, which permitted him to let his mind run riot. And Archer had done exactly that. The trouble was that even he had his limits as to how much sitting he could do, and he agreed inwardly with the two girls. It was fairly warm in the van, but it would take no time for them to get thoroughly saturated if they did decide to stop and get out. So unless there was a town near by where they could find some shelter, they were most likely going to stuck in the van under the power of Roy, who was driving with grim dedication. Fantastic.

xxxxxxx she was curled up on the same seat as France, they were both sleeping. Indie had her hood pulled up over her head, and her forehead pressed against the window. The bump Roy hit didn't wake her, but what did wake her was France's yelling. She jerked up, pushing her hood off of her head and looking around the bus. She looked out the window, listening to Lily's input, and shrugging her shoulders. why does it matter? all that would happen is we'd get a little wet. she looked back at Lily and winked, sitting sideways on the seat, her back pressed against the door and her feet up on the seat. She looked up towards the front seat, she leaned forward, inbetween the two boys and turned the volume up, accidentally elbowing Roy in the forehead. She instinctively slapped a hand over his face and put pressure on it, evening out her balance on the floor. She giggled a bit, apologizing a few times, before removing her hand and looking at his face, not very careful of his driving, she poked the spot a few times. does it still hurt? I'm sorry, I didn't mean too, but you kind of deserved it. she scooted back into her spot and scrunched her face up, looking at the reflection in the rearview mirror at his forehead. It was slightly red, not by much though.

She awkwardly sat before a small town came into view. OOH OHH Can we stop please. please. look theres a gas station yes lets do. she stood up, pressing her face to the window, her nose smooshing to the window. The town was very small, and they passed a sign that said Forks. She laughed a little, Edward Cullen lived here.

She rubbed her hands together quickly, trying to warm them up. The bus was really chilly, her toes curled in her shoes, and she ran her fingers through her wavy hair. She was still watching out the window, the little town seemed slightly dead because of the rain, but there were still lights on in the houses.

The rain was busy beat-boxing its own tapping rhythm against the front window, occasionally disturbed by an anticipated swish of the windshield-wipers, which erased a thousand splattering little droplet notes.

Noah was sitting next to Roy in the front of the minibus, with the gear-box, the radio, and a few trash cups and paper wrappers in between them, the obvious evidence of the two guys' appetites. He was drumming his fingers almost automatically to the beat of the song on the radio, while profoundly staring to the opposite direction, through the rain-curtained window; to where all that makes up the cold, drizzly scenery outside of the vehicle whizzes by, before your eyes can catch them by the tail to cage inside your memory.
A few bumps in the road made him hang a little unto the handle above the window of the jolting little minibus, on it's seemingly pointless voyage over the gravel. It was rather uncomfortable, but the steady rhythm of his tapping fingers kept his mind rolling forth.
While in this mental position, Noah was busy thinking up strategies - possible ways to make this seemingly hopeless case of a joyful road trip well...joyful. So far everyone is just sooo...self absorbed in their own solo, he wanted things to come together - to get this assemble jamming. Noah was frustrated, he missed laughter - but he couldn't find something that won't conclude to awkwardness to laugh about.

The next moment there was a rummaging behind him, - a girl's agitated voice pitched a request quite close to his ear, but before he could turn around to respond he little bus gave another leap for life - and slapped down again on all four wheels - making Noah jounce parallel off from the seat, hitting his head against the ceiling of the van. In this mess of animation, he flipped his previously drumming hand up, and when it came down it smacked unto something hairy..and..curly. It was France's head.
Naturally the softy, he mumbled sorry with a quick and loud laughter escaping, but then he saw her expression. She wasn't looking happy, and his smile instantly subsided. He glanced at Roy, the driver - which also made him the decision maker. Noah knew it was time to stop the monotony of this ride, and get some stimulation.
He was busy taking a breath to spill his own suggestion to Roy, when Ingrid interrupted with a sudden dash of actions, as she fumbled across to the front herself to turn down the volume, Roy was getting a little red there...his jaw clenched.. gosh...the girl elbowed his face, that certainly didn't make him calmer. A little annoyed, Noah turned his head uncomfortably around to give a glance towards the others that luckily remained at the back. Lily also spoke out something that he couldn't hear above the noise, but he observed that she looks a little worried. He gave her a quick wink - hoping to make her spirits soar, and when he turned his head back - something outside, next to the road caught Noah's eye. A sign.. there seemed to be a small town ahead. They where approaching the buildings encouragingly fast, but leaving little time left to change Roy's stubbornness.
Ingrid voiced another passive ''OOH OHH Can we stop please. please. look there's a gas station yes lets do"
.. he almost smiled at the sound of that, his own self is yearning in the same enthusiasm to stop. France was getting her limbs together, and sum up the current situation. Noah spoke before she could - "Come'n Roy, let's listen to the chicks... it's been a long road." He paused a moment to test Roy's response. He was still driving forth in the same manner.
"I'll take the next bill for grubs .. " Ok, that was a bribe. Or maybe it was a ransom.
