At the incessant beeping of her alarm, Tavi cracked an eye open, her sights giving way from the blackness of sleep to the, darker yet, obsidian ceiling that loomed over her head. The young demigod rolled over to turn off her alarm, forcing herself to sit up in her bed. The green glare of Greek fire glinted on the obsidian walls, polished to a shine. The torches on the wall were the only things that provided any light in the Hades cabin, with no windows in the entire cabin. At first, it had unsettled Tavi, but now the darkness had become a welcomed sight.
With a groan, she picked herself up and walked across the cabin to get ready for the day. Picking up a purple hoodie and a pair of black shorts with frayed edges, Tavi quickly changed into them, tossing her pajamas back on her bed. After running a comb through her messy, red hair, the teen laced up her converse and walked back to her bed. Shoes padding softly on the stone floor, Tavi rifled through her things, looking for the book she was currently reading. At last, she pulled the novel from her things and turned to leave, noting that Shiloh, the only other Hades cabin resident, was still asleep.
Walking quickly across the trimmed lawn, Tavi set her sights in the pavilion, glad to see that she wasn't too late for breakfast. Once she reached the small awning, the demigod gathered a small breakfast and made her offering before sitting down at the table for Hades' campers. Taking in a deep breath of the fresh air, she began to eat, setting her book down on the table next to her plate.
