daughters, and their daughters spoke of it to their sons, who in
return relayed the story to their own kin. the cycle was perpetual,
and soon all of europe was holding their breath, waiting for four
children to fall from the stars and pick up the shattered pieces of
what had once been a prosperous species. a species torn from it's
roots by a sinister babe; a small child of human decent who was,
according to legend, raised by the wicked and nurtured by the
deceased into something so unrecognizably human that only
the children of the gods could tame him. and boy, did the kin
of earth believe they were something worth saving.

there to help build the plot, and plus,
you totally got to chose your own charrie,
so it you didn't like their power/name
or whatever you shouldn't have chosen

basic appearance and weaponry
Ven is tall and graceful, gliding through the atmosphere like a swan on water. She has raven hair that shimmers a sort of deep brown when in direct sunlight, which it isn't often, because Ven is fond of using hoods and cloaks. Her eyes are the grey of a brewing storm, which she holds inside of her at all times. However, these eyes do not change. Ven's eyes are a vault of mystery shrouded by a riddle. Her face is pale white with no blemishes or imperfections, and her demeanor cold. Overall, Ven looks like a goddess; she seems higher than those around her, and she proceeds with an air of invincibility. She is incredibly beautiful, but also untouchable by any mortal. She is, quintessentially, a secret, more of a legend than a physical being. Venatrix carries a silver bow, shining like the starlight it was so surely cast form. It is extremely powerful, and can only be drawn by the hand of an optimus. It is engraved with gold mined from the surface of the harvest moon and its arrows fletched with the feathers of a sleek falcon. Each one travels faster than sound, whizzing through the air and never missing its target. Ven's bow and her beloved arrows are her prizes, her true connections from the world she left.

Venatrix is not evil, nor is she malicious in any way. She merely desires balance for herself and for others. She believes in doing what's right, even at the cost of disobedience. She has never been one to stick to rules and uses unconventional methods to solve problems simply for the pleasure she gets from being independent. Ven doesn't really connect with people; she prefers to work alone, and will often be harsh or judgmental when forced to cooperate. Despite this, Ven is fiercely loyal to her cause and she is extremely intelligent. It is this cleverness and insight that motivates her to sort of take charge of a situation. She can be seen as cold and unforgiving, but the truth is, Ven just doesn't deal with excuses. Her world is black and white, even though humanity sits in a grey zone between thinking and perceiving. She sees everything as a pattern, which is part of what makes her so good with a bow. She doesn't tolerate mistakes and is not inclined to make them herself. In a room full of people, Ven would be standing alone, mostly because she commands fear and cooperation. However, Ven is alone. She has never really had friends, thinking that they would take up too much of her time, and doesn't desire to have them. However, as it usually goes, everyone can benefit from friends; Ven is just much too proud to accept or even consider help, which is why she didn't really want to come down to Earth in the first place, knowing full well that three others of her equaled power would be waiting to greet her. The thought of sticking to a set of rules and regulations repulses Ven, and the thought that she might have to work with them to solve a problem even more so. Strangely enough, however, Ven is oddly motherly and protective of those she sees as weaker than herself. She is a natural leader, no matter how ruthless, or fundamentally mysterious. Ven is hard to read, but secretly compassionate about the few she does allow to penetrate her steely exterior.

first impressions of canicus tend to be...not so pleasant. he's a
tad headstrong, with a knack for speaking without thinking. he's
egotistical and if he's not talking about something he's done or is
doing, he's pointing out all the flaws in the others around him.
praise and flattery is one of the best ways to gain his attention.
a nasty habit that people tend to dislike him for. but there's
always that one good person who can look past those flaws and
notice that canicus is actually a decent guy. he's a faithful friend,
despite how much he's going on about himself, and will always
have your back in a dangerous situation. he's also got a reputation
for being brave, and with his ability to just "jump" into things, he
can be a bit of a "wildcard". he's a sensitive guy, setting all things
aside. but he hides behind a mask of vainness, which helps canicus
from getting hurt by the harsh reality of things.

he tends to have a thing for flirting with girls but never really
finding and picking "one" to stay with, though he'd never stoop as
low as to cheat on a girl (mainly because it'd hurt his over-inflated
ego). he has a sort of natural charm to him, an old-age politeness
and respectability to him that tends to draw some girls in.
