He Mei spoke, he noticed a hint of nostalgia easily and subtly flowing into her tone, and Seojun guessed that perhaps she may have someone like that in her life, too, or at least someone similar. He smiled with a small nod, then took another sip of his coffee. "Yeah. It's nice having them around. I don't know where I'd be without them, honestly," he replied - being and only child, it was a relief to have someone with as close as a bond as he had with his friends. "Those types of friendships are rare, I feel like," he added with utmost certainty. But they are some of the best kinds of friendships, in his opinion, and definitely aren't to be taken for granted. He learned that the hard way on the day the he and Yeonmi nearly lost Seon, and he most definitely did not intend to make the same mistake twice. He wept like a baby and apologized to Seon profusely when the boy had finally came to, at the hospital.
Upon hearing Mei's thoughts and insights on Yeonmi's methods to her spontaneous get-togethers, he then chuckled, "Yeah, you're right. The stresses of life have a funny way of getting in the way, so catching up with friends over a good meal is always great. She's definitely got something good going on for all of us. She's definitely a chaotic good, but in the absolute best way. Her impromptu plans always end up being a good time." It was true, many laughs, deep conversations, and fun times have been had during those get-togethers, and they're memories that will never leave him. He had noticed her tone shift, again, that same sense of yearning and curiosity that he had picked up on, before. He wondered if he should invite her to join them, next time. After all, Yeonmi was always inviting new people she had met, and she firmly believed that the more she could gather, the merrier, so it might be something that Mei would enjoy. Not that he knew her well, so it perhaps may not even be her thing, for all he knew. But he figured she could always decline the invitation, if she wasn't interested.
"Well...she'll probably have another gathering up her sleeve, again, sometime soon, if you ever wanted to-" he began, only to stop mid-sentence as he heard another female's voice floating through the air - seemingly, directed at him and Mei. His eyes landed on a redheaded woman, who appeared to be quite timid, judging by her soft, quiet voice and shy demeanor. She looked as though she was almost surprised to hear herself speak, judging by the way her hand flew over her mouth after a, "Hello," had tumbled past her lips. He then noticed the service dog that was accompanying the woman, and although he was a sucker for dogs, he certainly knew better than to try to pet a service animal. He bowed his head a bit in greeting, responding, "Hello," back, in a polite tone.
Seojun couldn't help but wonder if the girl knew Mei, somehow? That, or perhaps, he thought, she could be new to town, and was just trying to make a few friends? He wasn't quite sure. Though, as soon as Mei spoke, again, he could tell that she didn't appear to know her. He nodded in agreement when Mei complemented the dog, adding, "He is. What breed is he?" Upon hearing Mei ask if it was the girl's first time here, he looked back up at the redhead, somewhat curious about what her response would be.

Watching Nova seemingly consider her answer, Nathan worried that perhaps she wasn't alright; however, just as his lips barely parted to speak, again, she finally answered that she was fine. Relief washed over the blonde boy's face as that signature sunny smile returned to his face. "Good," he nodded, "I don't know what I would've done if a dear friend like you had fallen, today!" Yes, the cheesy pun was fully intended, and yes, he was doing his best to feign a dramatic stance, like the dork he knew he was at heart. He then chuckled at her added comment about her pride being hurt. "Ah...what a tragic loss!" he said with a smirk, "Though, I suppose I lost a bit of mine, as well, admittedly." His cheeks flushed a faint pink, for a moment, and then he continued, "But I guess I'll live."
He couldn't help but chuckle as Nova then froze, seeing that both, he and the woman with the heavy Southern accent, reached out to help her up at the same time. He helped pull her up as he, too, rose to his feet. "Or course!" he responded happily. Upon hearing her ask if he was alright, Nathan nodded lightly. "Oh, yeah, I'm good! I've definitely suffered from worse falls, before!" He chuckled as he had recalled a few instances that would definitely have been considered worse than their current predicament. It was true, as the tall, lanky boy sometimes tended to be a klutzy hazard to himself, and to his immediate surroundings.
Upon hearing the woman and Nova making conversation about Emery, Nathan couldn't help but start laughing as she really drove the baby part home. The young boy, of course, seemed quite bent out of shape as being referred to as such. Ah, how awkward that phase of one's life always was, when they were going to experience starting to make the transition from a child to a teenager. He remembered being embarrassed like that, over goofy, silly little things like that.
He then recalled that the other woman had started to speak with them before their fall, and he glanced back over to her. "Oh, yes! Did you need help with something, by the way?" he asked politely as he picked the mop back up, and started sopping up the rainwater on the floor - and this time, managing not to fall, of course.

Seon briefly checked his texts, again, before he continued moving forward, a few steps. Yeonmi had messaged him back, explaining that she was at breakfast with Winsley, her friend that she had met online, quite a while back. Coincidentally, they had just happened to move in to the town where Winnie lived, so the girls were gleeful to finally get to spend time together in person, and Seon presumed that the two would be getting into quite a bit of mischief together. He didn't quite know her, yet, though he assumed that he would likely be more familiarized with her as time went on - it was really only a matter of time before Yeonmi introduced them to one another, honestly. He noticed that she had mentioned possibly meeting up with him after breakfast. Cool, sounds good. See you then! Oh, by the way, have you seen ads for this? Thought it might pique your interest, perhaps. :) he quickly texted back, along with the picture he had taken of the festival's flyer, before sliding his phone back into his pocket.
As he messaged his sister, he hadn't noticed how all four dogs' ears perked upright, staring off into the distance with a micture of caution and curiosity. He also hadn't noticed the figure standing just a short distance away, their silhouette cloaked by the rain and fog. However, he soon heard a female's voice float through the air, and his gaze shifted up from the ground to see a woman with wavy, light brown hair, and striking hazel eyes, looking at him. All four dogs barked in a friendly way, their tails all wagging excitedly. "Oh, hello," Seon greeted the woman with a friendly smile, "Yeah, same here. I was tired of just being sequestered to the house, though, so I needed to get out, for a bit." His tone was casual, despite being taken a bit off guard, but that was okay. He had an uncanny ability to stay pretty calm, and wasn't one to usually fret, or lose his temper, these days. Thise days were far behind him, andhe wasn't looking back. Link started to attempt to slightly tug on his leash, causing Seon's knee to buckle as the Husky moved forward. "Ah-" he began, "Link, no - stop!" His voice was calm, yet firm. He quickly caught himself, however, as the dog halted before he could go any farther and grunted in irritation, looking back at him. "Sorry," Seon apologized, looking back over to the girl as he regained his balance, "they can be a handful, sometimes. But they've harmless, I promise. They just like meeting new people." Still, he made the dogs keep a distance from the girl, so that she could choose whether or not she wished to engage them. He understood that not everyone liked dogs, some were afraid of them, and some were allergic. And, even if someone did like dogs, that some remained quite cautious around ones they were unfamiliar with.

rori § 003

Postby senna_ » Wed Feb 12, 2025 3:33 am

── 𝐑𝐎𝐑𝐈 𝐁𝐄𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐆𝐄𝐑 ──────────────────────────────────────
role. the cappuccino__location. outside; downtown__mentions. --__tags. lily
Rori hadn’t found himself uncomfortable around Lily to begin with, except for those occasional bashful moments when her grandma found some new way to gush over him, but it was evident that both were relaxing more into the current conversation. The energy was almost ironic – as they were easing more into the environment, the rain and wind were both picking up. Rori took a few steps back, away from Lily, then tilted his umbrella to the slide, watching as a satisfying amount of collected water poured off the top of it before he covered his head again. Even though the action took no more than a second or two, his curls were already pretty wet. He ruffled his hair out with his free hand to rid some of the raindrops that had nestled onto his head.

He tipped his head back with a small laugh at the thought of anyone taking a broom to their ceiling. It seemed comical, something you’d only expect to see in a film, or read in a novel. “Now you’ve got me thinking,” he quipped in return, his tone purposely sounding as if he was genuinely in deep thought. “I’m sure there are more promising things to use if the broom doesn’t work. Although I’m not quite sure how my landlord would feel about that. Or the upstairs unit, for that matter. I’m not exactly prepared for an unexpected sabotaging in return.” It was nice to take a break and share a laugh. Rori didn’t dislike his work in any way, and most of the time the guys were down to crack a joke here and there, but most of the company had a good few years on him and their views didn’t always end up on the same level. Rori typically kept his head down and did what he had to do to get through the day.

The rambling continued, and he looked at her in amusement. Honestly, most of the time that was him when he talked. His ADHD had a fun way of making a fool of himself by tossing out too many words for his mind to keep up with. More often than not it resulted in him completely tripping over his words, and he usually ended up clamping his lips shut with a defeated shake of his head. Lily seemed to have a lot of thoughts that she was more than happy to share, and Rori didn’t mind in the slightest. The way she quickly backed up one sentence with another made him suspect she was worried about offending him or jumping to the wrong conclusion. He got that; he still did that himself. “Amen,” he grinned. “If I ever hit rock bottom, I’ll make sure to keep you updated.”

He knew he dug himself into a hole by asking what she was up to, because Lily absolutely seemed like that type of person to return the question. “You’re one of those weird people who actually enjoy storms,” he concluded, straight-faced again as he nodded slowly, almost as if he was taking mental notes. “It’s all fun and games until some car drenches you in bloody mucky puddle remnants.” He slipped his free hand in his pocket, turning his torso left and right as he glanced around. “Well, you’ve got options,” he said, once again suddenly deeply thoughtful. “Thistlewood has more cafes than any other store combined, I swear.” Strolling through rows of old books piqued his interest, and he was a bit surprised with himself that that hadn’t crossed his mind earlier. Reading was almost like a guilty pleasure of his, even if he couldn’t dedicate his attention to the book for more than a few minutes. He gave a small shrug of his shoulders when she reciprocated the question. “If I’m being honest? I just wanted to get out of the house. It’s my first day in a good minute, why not spend it out here?”

Age: 24| Occupation: Founder & CEO of *Moretti Couture* /Barista & Freelance Photographer | Tags: Seon

Isabella watched quietly from a distance as Seon and his dogs interacted, her gaze lingering on the group for a moment. She wasn't in any rush, enjoying the rare quiet that the morning offered. Latte wasn't with her today—she had left him at home, giving him a break from their usual routine of long walks and photoshoots.

As she drew closer, she noticed Seon trying to regain his balance as one of his dogs tugged at the leash. It made her smile faintly, the sight of a dog’s enthusiasm always managing to bring a sense of warmth. She admired how calm he was, despite the minor chaos around him.

When he noticed her and greeted her, Isabella offered a soft, friendly smile. She couldn't help but feel a small bit of familiarity with his situation.

"Hey," she said with a light laugh, glancing at the dogs with their wagging tails. "Looks like they’re eager to meet someone new."

She paused, taking in the scene before her, before adding with a soft chuckle, "I know that feeling. My dog, Latte, he’d probably be doing the same thing if he were here."

There was something about the moment, a quiet understanding between her and Seon, in the way both their dogs seemed to share the same natural curiosity for new faces. She tilted her head slightly, watching his dogs, their energy a contrast to the stillness of the day around them.

"Looks like you've got your hands full," she added lightly, her tone casual, yet warm. "I’m Isabella, by the way."

The small exchange felt oddly familiar, and it made her wonder if their paths had crossed before, or if this was just one of those random moments that people would talk about later. Either way, it was nice to be out of her head for a bit.

§ Giselle Avery §- Chai Latte- f- 22- July 20- therapy dog handler- pan; Seon, Izzy, Lucas, Milo- Geri x Liza: Bethann, Natt, John, Sara- Christian- Zoro (ferret), Maisey (cat), Marseille (gray and white poodle mix, therapy dog), her personal bunny Cookie- Tags: Milo

The creamy peachy skinned ginger haired girl hummed quietly as she walked. She looked around a bit, light brown eyes seeing people and plants. There were trees, bushes, flowers, other plants around. She shook her head a couple times. She smiled as she looked down at the therapy dog. She should probably go to work…but she wanted to be outside today. She smiled as she looked at the dog. She patted him gently, and looked around the area once more, something telling her to wait. She didn’t know what it was, but something caused her to pause. She stood there in the rain, holding the umbrella. The other hand holding the leash of her handsome dog. The dog standing beneath the umbrella with her, thought they were still getting wet.

That being because the sidewalks and roads were already wet from the rain. Her shoes were getting wet from her standing there. Marseille’s paws were getting wet as well. She patted the dog once more, though let out a soft sigh. The dog’s paws were going to be wet. That meant the potential of them also getting muddy…This would happen if she took him near dirt or mud. Dirt became mud when it was wet. Therefore, if he went into the dirt, his wet paws could technically turn it to mud. Shaking her head, she let out a second sigh. She pushed away the thought of mud, and smiled at the dog. Placing her hand behind his ears and ruffling them now. The dog made a happy little sound as she did this, and she giggled a bit.

She stopped giggling when she saw some people looking at her…She rolled her eyes at them, and shook her head a couple times. She finished up ruffling the ears of the pretty and handsome dog. She then glanced around the area once more. She wanted to keep walking…but the voice in the back of her head told her to wait. She sighed and shook her head at herself. She couldn’t believe she was actually going to do this. She did just that, continuing to wait on the sidewalk in the rain.
————————-

She looked around again after awhile, and saw a boy. He was headed her direction, as she hadn’t actually gotten far from the apartments and houses. She gasped as she noticed he didn’t have an umbrella. She hurried over to him, saying “Hey. You’re getting all wet, take my umbrella.” She didn’t mind giving up her umbrella, or even just sharing an umbrella if he decided that was better. She shook her head as she looked at him. Marseille also watched the guy, and smelled cat on him so he wagged his tail a bit.

The paler creamy peachy skinned ginger haired girl hummed quietly. She stood there in her seeming shock, hand still to her mouth. She shook her head, and lowered her hand when the dog nosed her. He nosed and nudged her a little bit. Seeming to be picking up on worry and nervousness from her, though not outright anxiety. He didn’t do his usual thing for that. He just nosed and nudged at her until she lowered her hand. She sighed softly a bit, and smiled down at the dog. He nuzzled her arm a couple times, and wagged his tail. The poodle shepherd mix then glanced over to the people Jes had called out to. She watched as Elnor looked over to the two people. He made a small little sound towards them, just a friendly kind of sound. She found herself wanting to be friends with them. Calling out to them had definitely been a good start. Despite her starting to get into her own head about it. Shaking her head again, she offered a small smile and a wave of the hand now.

She noticed how they’d both looked over at her. The way they’d looked, they’d clearly noticed she’d seemed to startle or worry herself. They’d definitely seen her hand go to cover her mouth. Of course they would have seen that, there was no way they couldn’t have seen that. She sighed softly at herself, and told herself to stop it. Before she started to go off into her own thoughts again. She had to keep herself from getting her thoughts all jumbled. She needed to keep herself from getting worried or overwhelmed. She noticed how the male looked at her dog. However, he didn’t try to pet the dog, and she smiled at this. He clearly knew the rules about service animals. Petting them was out of the question…as it was a distraction and they couldn’t be distracted. They had to be on duty most of the time. Not when people were sleeping, but other than that, all the time. She blinked and smiled when they both spoke. Saying “Thank you; he’s a poodle shepherd mix.”

She then nodded as Mei asked her something else.

She said “It is my first time here.”

The six two and probably average weight make shivered a bit…He cuddled under one of his blankets, a blanket with cute kitties on it. The handsome, golden tanned male did not like storms…He did not like storms at all, and that’s why he was being like this. Deeply brown eyes opened to look at his cat. Jana purred as she walked over him and laid down on the blanket. Now, he wouldn’t/couldn’t move, even if he’d wanted to. He found himself smiling as he looked down at the sweet, beautiful she cat.

He moved an arm from under the blanket, to comb at his shorter and straight dark brown hair. He then looked at his dog. The mixed breed pup looked over at him, and thumped his tail. Said dog then stood up and stretched, doing the downward dog as people might call it. The dog then trotted closer to the bed. He put his paws up, then hopped on the bed. He licked at the scar on his human’s eyebrow. He then laid down at his side, and curled up into as small a ball as he could, which wasn’t very small but still.

Yeonmi - 5 § Ciela - 1

Postby Corgi Fox <3 » Wed Feb 12, 2025 1:42 pm

Yeonmi Lee § The Pumpkin Spice Latte
Location: The Pancake Palace
Tags: Winsley, Seon (briefly), Samuel
Yeonmi laughed at Winsley's delcaration, the thought of Seojun mingling with a ton of people crossing her mind. Though it was certainly a rare spectacle to catch, these days, it reminded her of his days in the k-pop industry, causing her eyes to light up from nostalgia, for a moment. Though, the thought of him awkwardly mingling that followed, right afterward, was quite amusing to his friend, as that's how it would be more likely to go, these days. "Now, that would be shocking!" she giggled, "Could you imagine if he had some secret, super-social night life? What a sight that would be!" Of course, she was clearly just joking, knowing the boy had become quite a bit more antisocial and private, and even if he was super social, he'd have no real reason to hide it - still, imagining it was humorous. Winnie knew some things about Seojun and Seon, but hadn't really met either of them in-person, yet, so Yeonmi figured that the girl would soon understand more, when she was better acquainted with them. Still, she knew more than enough about the two boys, from Yeonmi chattering on about them, for her to be able to understand a lot of their habits and behaviors.
Upon hearing Winnie's question about what she was up to afterwards, and the invitation to join her on her shopping trip, Yeonmi then smiled, "Oh, of course! I'd be more than happy to join you! I don't really have much on the agenda, after this, anyway, and the mall works for me - oh! I did tell Seon that I'd meet him at Barnes & Noble, afterwards, but I could always tell him to meet us at the mall, unless you don't mind taking a quick detour on the way." She enjoyed shopping with Winnie - the girl was always so fun to be around, and a good shopping spree was long overdue, anyway. There was sure to be much fun and laughter to be had, memories to be made, and good finds to be discovered. Her eyes glanced over the menu, stopping on a rather appetizing-looking belgian waffle, lightly dusted with powdered sugar, and topped with a generous helping of fresh strawberries, blueberries, and a perfect mound of whipped cream. It appeared to be served with an egg on the side, as well. "...If for nothing else, we'd just be stopping by, real quick, because he's got all four of our dogs with him. So, I should probably get my two agideul (babies), anyhow - I'm sure they'd love to come with, too, if you're okay with it?" she said with a smile, glancing back over at her friend. She always loved seeing Winnie's creativity behind her gifts, and the gorgeous presentation that she oriented everything in that made it look picture-perfect. It was the little details that counted, and it made each gift from the creative girl seem so unique and special to you, and meaningful. She was convinced that Winnie could make even the most simple of gifts look intricate and beautiful. Watching her process was always interesting to Yeonmi.
She shrugged as Winsley then asked if everything was alright. "Oh, yeah, everything's fine," she said with a chuckle, "Seojun's just being a punk...as per usual." She then briefly explained, "He beat me to asking if he was on a date. The audacity." Her tone was clearly joking, feigning a dramatic flare, however, as it was just a simple battle of wits, in which Seojun had certainly beaten her to the punch, this time. "Though, he could certainly lighten up, I think it would benefit him more than he realizes," she chuckled, her tone more thoughtful, this time, "He's always so serious, these days."
After Winnie had ordered her beverage, the server quickly scrawled it down, before turning her attention to Yeonmi. She smiled at the server, and politely added, "I'll take a hot chocolate, please!" As the server then scribbled down the order, Yeonmi thanked her, and the woman scurried off to get their order. Yeonmi laughed at Winnie's remark, "Yeah, that's true," as she glanced back over at her menu.
Of course, unsurprisingly, that didn't last long between the two chatty girls. Yeonmi pondered her friend's words for a moment, then mused, "Hm...very true. After all, it's not like this is New York or L.A. It's a bit safer, here." She then nodded as Winnie continued on, explaining that she didn't have anyone in her sights, yet - people she had found attractive, yes, but no one, in particular, that she was actively pursuing. By and large, from the sounds of it, she, too, had found herself being single for an extended period of time.
"Yeah, I totally get that, same here, pretty much," she smirked, "But if there's someone for me, here, there's definitely gonna be someone for you here, too! Who wouldn't love you?" While Yeonmi was a rather confident individual, she was not filled with conceit - there was a huge and very important difference there. That, and she was always bluntly honest, saying it how it is, including being rather honest with herself. Between the two girls, she genuinely believed that Winnie was the prettier one - and she was definitely okay with that. She chose to embrace herself, and actually didn't always mind her own flaws and imperfections. She viewed them as equally important as her strengths; after all, all of it, the good and the bad combined, made her who she is. And, being in the industry that she was in sort of made her realize that. So often, they heavily stressed the absolute need to be perfect, to be the best. It was intense, and also happened to be the one part about her profession that she absolutely despised to no end. Sure, competing was just naturally a part of the industry, and there was no getting around that - if you wanted to remain relevant, that is; however, she felt that such harsh treatment of her competition was incredibly unnecessary. Yet, it was an unrelenting habit that many women were essentially forced into sort of following, so Yeonmi became accustomed to it rather quickly, and it was also part of the reason as to why she had grown such a thick skin. That said, she personally would much rather lift and hype people up about themselves, complementing their strengths and beauty, instead of tearing them down, or making them feel less than.
Yeonmi smirked, yet again, as Winnie smugly delcared that her new challenge would be to find a date for her. "Alright, then, let's do it! As long as we also make it a mission to find someone for you, too," she responded with a laugh, "Seojun just may have to wait a bit longer! But it would definitely be fun to do a double date once we-" She abruptly stopped short as a tall, handsome man in a camoflauge shirt started approaching the two girls, and was a bit surprised as he greeted them. Noticing Winnie's knowing glance, and reading her expression like a book, she excitedly smirked, as if to say, Alright, alright - let's see how this goes! Though, she had a feeling that the boy was obviously staring at Winsley, at least from what she could tell. Her violet eyes then delicately flitted back over to the curly-haired boy, crossing her legs in a ladylike manner, and acutely tilting her head to the side slightly. "Hello there," she greeted him with a charming smile, "Can we help you with something?"

Ciela Bree Monet § The Hot Chocolate
Location: Home, then Victoria's Tea Palace
Tags: N/A
It had been a lovely morning for the brunette-haired girl - being the morning person she was, Ciela had woken up quite early. She just sat on her bed, a sketchbook on her lap - as per usual - and a pencil in the other. She drew a protrait of Cookie and Lapiz, whom were curled up in two overlapping little balls of fur - with Cookie resting slightly atop of Lapiz, respectively - asleep, next to her. She had decided, since she was up so early, that it wasn't such a bad idea to practice her artwork more. She decided to grab a mug of hot chocolate, whip up a quick serving of chocolate chip pancakes, and do just that, whilst listening to the rhythmic melody that the rain carefully orchestrated and danced to - accompanied by the rolling thunder's dramatic percussions, and the lightning's bright, animated flare - on that lovely day. After taking a final look at her finished creation, and seemingly satisfied with it, she nodded resolutely, a pleased smile on her face. Taking one last glance at the rain that was gently tapping against the window, she finally flipped her sketchbook shut. She placed it on her nightstand, then yawned and stretched before looking at the time: 7:05 AM. She needed to get ready for work. She groaned lightly as she finally got out of bed, taking one final glance at her sketchbook. Oh, how she wished she could stay in bed all day, snuggled up with the two pups whilst she drew and watched TV, listened to music, or even just sat back and could listen to the lovely rain. But, alas, her need for a paycheck was calling, and it reminded her that she, indeed, could not do that, today. Just the weekend, and then she'd have Monday through Wednesday off. Motivating herself further to just make it through those couple of days of work, she finished the last bite of her food, and the last couple of drinks of her cocoa, then reluctantly headed to her dresser. Hearing this, the little Corgi and Parti-Yorkie duo lifted their little heads, ears perked, and stared at the girl, simultaneously tilting their heads to the side out of curiosity. As she headed over to her closet, the little pups stood up, jumped off of the bed, and trotted after her, following like the little shadows they constantly loved to be. She smiled as she bent down to gently pat the puppies' heads, then proceeded to grab her work-appropriate clothes, choosing to go with an elegant-looking, yet warm and light, cream sweater dress, complete with caramel-colored tights, a pair of cream kitten heels, and some jewelry: a sterling silver and pearl earring and necklace set, complete with dainty, sparkling diamonds above the pearl pendant and earrings. They were a gift from her parents; so, despite the monetary value, the artistic girl valued and treasured these for the sentimental value, above all else. She then headed to the bathroom, where she took a somewhat long shower - about thirty-five minutes or so - then got dressed, dried and styled her hair into large, silky curls, and did her makeup. With that, she then went to her room, grabbed her purse and her phone, and went downstairs. She fed Cookie and Lapiz, and then headed out the door. She got into her car, and drove off to work. As soon as she arrived, several minutes early, she clocked in to work, greeted Michael and Aurelia - along with some of her coworkers that she had passed - and started getting the tea, watercress sandwiches, and various other little sandwiches, desserts, and finger foods together and ready for the day. It was 8:00 AM, and Victoria's Tea Palace was officially open for the day.

”Storms get to you huh?” Caden said to him in the softest tone. Eli could feel the warmth of the embarrassed flush creeping up his neck, grateful for all the clothing and hair covering the majority of his flush. “You know, I get it. The noise, the flashes—it's a lot. I actually don't like storms either, but... it’s weird, right? Being here, in the middle of all this warmth and noise, and still feeling unsettled. It’s like everything around you is calm but your brain’s still buzzing." His friend paused before adding. "You'll see her again soon, right? Your sister, I mean. Weddings are… well, you know how they are."

Eli allowed himself to consider his response, his first thought to simply deny that the storm was getting to him. But Eli had promised himself, and honestly Heather, that’d he would work on voicing his own thoughts. Sipping his latte, allowing the sweetness to coat his tongue as he worked out his own reply.

“It is weird, the environment and the storm that is. Its jarring, but I know that my fear is irrational. Storms were never this bad back in London, ye know?” His gaze flicked nervously over towards the window, the patter of the rain going unheard in the buzz of the shop. “Dreary days? Those are normal… Or I suppose that’s simply what I’m accustomed too. Two years and I’m still jumping at the thunder.” He quietly chucked, turning back to his friend with a soft smile.

“I’m sure I will, I believe she plans to come visit for the holidays at the end of the year! It’ll be a cheery time, I simply miss her is all.” He took another sip of his drink, the warmth to chase away the sudden chill of lonliness.

“I was actually going to run by work, on my off day of course, to see how some bouquet's were coming along.” His smile broadened, meeting his eyes as they sparkled in delight. “I think they’ll be a big hit.”

Iris let out a faint giggle as she watched Nova tease her brother. She couldn’t help but smile and think of a few moments with her own brothers, a small ping of loneliness sending a chill down her spine. She brushed her palms down her dress as she tried to force the unwanted feeling away.

“No matter how old a little sibling may get, they’ll always be the baby sibling.” She giggles. “My babiest brother will be 17 soon, he’ll never loose that title.”

Iris than turned her eyes towards the young man who had fallen along with the woman, who was asking if she needed something.

“Oh yes, I wanted to get something to drink before shopping, but you take your time hun.” Iris had a brilliant and warm smile light her entire face, her southern twang a little strong, she’d have to work on that. “Do y’all mind names like that?” She suddenly wondered aloud. “I’m so sorry, I’m new to town still. Finding my footing I believe people would say? Ain’t nothing like where I’m from…” She bit the inside of her cheek, continuing to look between the two. “Did ya need help cleaning up at all? I’d be happy to help if ya did..” She continued in a softer tone.

Age: 22 | Occupation: Mentor/ Tutor | Tags: Seojun, Jessika
Mei gave a small, welcoming smile, her gaze softening at the girl’s nervous energy, her natural empathy kicking in. "It’s nice to meet you," she said, her voice gentle. She could tell that Jessika seemed a bit overwhelmed, but Mei didn’t push too hard, not wanting to make her feel more anxious than she already seemed. Instead, she let the conversation flow naturally.

"I can see why you'd be a bit nervous. New places can be intimidating sometimes," Mei added, glancing at Seojun for a moment, then back to Jessika. "But it’s nice to see you out and about. This place has its charm, once you get to know it."

She wasn’t sure if Jessika was just passing through or if she had moved to town, but either way, Mei wanted to make her feel comfortable, even if it was just in this small moment. She smiled again, noticing the way the dog nudged at Jessika, clearly trying to offer some reassurance, which only made Mei’s heart warm a little.

"So," Mei began, tilting her head slightly, "are you just here to explore, or are you settling in for a bit?" She kept the tone light, as if offering a simple conversation, hoping to help Jessika ease into the group, even if only a little.

Miles first reaction towards the girl who hurried towards him was a flash of annoyance at being stopped. He was clearly in a hurry. His makeshift umbrella wasn't all that great. It wasn't terrible either. He wasn't soaked yet, so it was offering him some protection, but he knew it wouldn't last long. Finding a store or place indoors to stop as fast as he could was the goal, and getting stopped so that he had to stand longer out in the rain wasn't helping that goal.

And then the girl held offered her umbrella to him, and the annoyance made way for surprise tinged with some shame. For a few moments, all he was able to do was stare at her while the rain fell around him and on his sagging jacket held over his head. He must have looked like a sorry sight for her to offer up her umbrella in weather like this. It was kind of her, but he couldn't accept it and leave her and her dog out here in the rain.

"No, but thank you," he said. A part of him knew he should show his appreciation towards her gesture more than just with a quick thank you, but he really was in a hurry. That in mind, he still felt bad and like he owed her a little more."I'm not too far from where I need to go but thank you again." He took a step forward to continue his mad dash to the store before he realized... He had absolutely no idea where a store was that he could pick up an umbrella. In hindsight, he should have planned this out a bit better.

This is what running on barely any sleep did to someone, evidently.

He let out a breath of air before turning back to the girl. "Actually, sorry, do you know where the nearest store is? Preferably somewhere I can get some groceries and an umbrella."

A grin spread across her face at her friend's lightheartedness, but she didn't actually let herself laugh until he mentioned losing his pride as well. "I think I'll live through the loss too. It might be tough and difficult at times, but we'll make it through together," she said, acting as dramatic as he was. That was the great thing about having a friend as clumsy and awkward as she was; they could both look and be silly and dumb at the same time.

She also couldn't help but laugh a little along with him when he practically mirrored her own thoughts by saying he'd had worse falls before. "We're like twins sometimes. I thought the same exact thing. Seriously, though, glad to hear you're alright." She nudged his shoulder a bit playfully with her own.

Certain that Nathan was alright, and she hadn't accidently caused a broken arm or back or whatever, she was able to relax a little more as she spoke with the woman who had come in. "Oh, for sure," she agreed. "Em's 10 years younger than me, so that doesn't help him any either." Nova was also very much the little girl who doted on her brother like a baby doll when they were younger, and those memories of helping her parents take care of him would always stick with her. She'd always look out for him, like she did when they were little ones.

"Oh no, I'm not bothered by it at all," Nova then replied to her question about the name. "Where did you move from? If you don't mind me asking."

Re: I Love You A Latte § v.3 § Open & Accepting!

§ Giselle Avery §- Chai Latte- f- 22- July 20- therapy dog handler- pan; Seon, Izzy, Lucas, Milo- Geri x Liza: Bethann, Natt, John, Sara- Christian- Zoro (ferret), Maisey (cat), Marseille (gray and white poodle mix, therapy dog), her personal bunny Cookie- Tags: Milo

The creamy peachy skinned ginger haired girl blinked a couple times. Then smiled and nodded at the guy, as he thanked her. She said “yeah…I guess that wasn’t a smart idea. Since I need the umbrella as well,” thought she’d meant for him to just go under it with her. He probably assumed she’d been trying to give him the umbrella. She supposed it was odd to share an umbrella…They weren’t family to each other. Nor were they lovers, though as she looked him over she saw how attractive he was. She continued to smile as she looked at him. Then the dog made a small little noise and her attention was drawn away for a moment. She smiled as she looked at the handsome dog. He wagged his tail as he looked at her, that semi fluffy tail.

He was part poodle, so the tail wasn’t as fluffy because of the poodle genetics. He was also husky or border collie or something like that. That made sense, with the gray and white color. Though she’d definitely seen parti color poodles, and was pretty sure there were even gray poodles. She had stopped paying attention to the guy. She quickly came to realize this. She quickly put her attention back onto him. Noticing how he’d been seeming like he was going to continue forward, but had then paused.

Her face had gone neutral, but she began to smile again as he addressed her.

She said “Well, there’s Target and Walmart. There’s also a mall, which might sell better food and umbrellas than Target or Walmart does. The target and Walmart are definitely closer by though.”

§ Jessika Rob §- Green Tea- f- 26- July 22- dog trainee, rescue volunteer- demi pan- Seojun, Mei- Gary x Lisa: Bethany, Abbi, Jonathan, Sarrah- Christian- Elnor (her poodle shepherd service dog)- Stormcloud (cat)- Tags: Mei, Seojun

The paler creamy peachy skinned ginger haired girl hummed quietly. She watched as Elnor looked over to the two people. He made a small little sound towards them, just a friendly kind of sound. She found herself wanting to be friends with them.

She then looked to the girl with him, and smiled at her. She sure was pretty…and Jes found herself staring at her. She blinked and shook her head, making herself look away for a moment. When she looked back again, she didn’t stare at Mei this time. She smiled, a small smile but still a smile. She nodded as she said “It’s…nice to meet you both as well.” She looked around the space a moment, then back to the two of them once more. She said “Y-Yeah…it is a bit intimidating coming to new places.” That was true for sure. Especially for someone like her, who not only had a phobia of small spaces but couldn’t be in huge side open spaces. She didn’t like to be alone either. Yet, she couldn’t deal with big crowds of people. The noise alone could set her off. Besides the fact a bunch of people together basically was like being in an enclosed space. It was just too much for her. At least there wasn’t a crowd here, so she was fine for now, and these two people were being very nice to her.

She shook her head, pushing her thoughts away from some things. Not wanting to get lost in thought or anything.

She said “My family actually moved out here, so….I’m living here.” She hoped it didn’t seem weird to them…

That she still lived with her family.

She was twenty six, it wasn’t like she was in her thirties yet, but still.

§ Samuel Harris §- Cafe Mocha- m- 27- April 10- Model- Bi; Winsley, Eli- Dane x Una: Elizabeth (gf Jessie), Fiona, Torinn (has bf)- Christian- Katia (dark brown cat), Doom (fixed black semi fluffy mixed breed dog)- Tags: Winsley, Yeonmi

The curly haired dark brown haired one watched the two girls. The one seemed to be saying something about a challenge. He tilted his head at that, wondering what that was all about. He also thought he heard something about finding someone. Shaking his head, he watched the blonde one look to him first. He smiled as he looked at her first. She was so pretty…no, stop that, now wasn’t the time. He was here to make friends, or try to, but also…he really needed some food. He watched her look to her friend again. Giving the other girl some kind of look that seemed almost joking. Shaking his head again, he couldn’t help but smile. Saying “Hello,” to her and watching her as she flashed him a bright and charming smile.

He turned his attention next to the girl that was with her. He had noticed how the girl had smirked earlier, at what her friend had said. That thing about a challenge, or some such. He wondered what kind of challenge, but wasn’t going to ask them. Though they already seemed to have a plan of action. The way they both looked at him told him something was definitely up. He wasn’t going to be rude to them about it, though. Hey, if it was something to do with a date or something, he wasn’t going to turn them down. Though he found himself more drawn to the blonde. Her friend was quite pretty too though. He smiled as he looked at the two of them. Pushing himself out of his thoughts, as he started to get drawn into his thoughts. He shook his head a couple times. He said “Oh, I was hoping to try and make a few friends. I’m also in need of some food and beverage. This placed seemed like a nice place to find that, so I thought I’d check it out and see what they offer here.”

§ Eakphol ‘Earth’ Suwannathat §- the White Chocolate Mocha- m- 24- May 14- Performing arts- bi; Caden, Eli, Iris, Yeonmi- Enno x Tera: Echo (twin, has a boyfriend), Tina and Temm (the younger siblings)- Christian- Jana (Burmese), Santa (Thai Ridgeback mix)- Tags

The man smiled as he looked at his cat. Jana continued to purr as she laid on top of him, and he sighed and shook his head…He didn’t want to move her anyway, but he knew he had to soon. He had his performing arts job, but that was flexible. Still, he couldn’t just stay in his bed all day. As much as the dark brown haired one wanted to, he knew he just couldn’t. He shook his head, and glanced to the dog. The mixed breed pup was still curled up as small as he could get, which again…wasn’t really very small.

winsley § 005

There were times when Winnie would visibly get frustrated with someone for being on their phone during a get-together, or yapping off about people she had never met, but this wasn’t something that crossed her mind when in Yeonmi’s company. She had always enjoyed listening to her talk, and honestly, Winsley felt like she really did know the two guys. It was funny, hearing about their unique dynamic. Yeonmi was so extroverted older sister coded, regardless of being related by blood or not. Winnie also understood the woman’s lighthearted frustration at the inability to drag her friend out anywhere ─ Winnie had a friend like that back when she was in New York. It was loving hate, she referred to it as. Winnie didn’t mind a cozy night in, but goodness, it was fun getting dressed up, feeling pretty, and spending a night like she was a whole new person. “We need to throw a party,” she spoke suddenly, reaching out to grab the tops of Yeonmi’s fists. “Seriously. Something themed. We could even rent a place out. It would be so much fun.”

The thought of having a large celebratory-like event in a town like this was difficult to imagine right off the top of her head, but Winsley was confident it could happen. Like she and Yeonmi said, everyone seemed to close and friendly here. Surely it wouldn’t take much convincing.

She found herself nodding along to her friend’s words even as the idea still swished around in her mind. “Barnes and Noble sounds great to me, as long as Seon doesn’t mind the extra company,” Winnie smiled, her eyes darting towards Yeonmi’s phone as if Seon was on the other end. Winnie was the type of girl who loved books and found great interest in so many different plots, yet never seemed to have the time to pick one up and give it a thorough read. She was no bibliomaniac, but it was a nice casual hobby. She had, however, recently rediscovered her love for Audible, which was perfect to play during her jogging sessions. Yet, at the same time, she was particularly picky about the narrating voice. And still, she knew that if she purchased the hard copy of the book instead of the audio version, the chances of it getting read by the end of the year were slim. “The aesthetics of that place are just gorg, let alone their huge selection. I seriously need to get into reading more.” A small, girlish giggle sounded from her throat. “We might need to take a trip to the library or these bookstores more often. Maybe we can find our own Jess Mariano's.” Ever the dreamer, Winnie was far more interested in living out that fantasy life with those fictional characters who always set the bar so high. It just seemed so easy in the movies.

She swatted her hand to wipe away Yeonmi’s compliment, then flicked her wrists as if to send the invisible words back her friend’s way. “’Kay, here’s the plan.” Winnie’s face crafted a serious expression, as if she was about to spill a major confession. “Obviously approval is a must; I can’t have a partner you won’t get along with. So when you go out, I will be waiting by the phone, ready to give you a whole sob story over call if you need to get out of there. And same goes the other way. And if all else fails, we get ice cream and watch romcoms at one of our places instead. It’s a win-win.” She cheekily grinned at Yeonmi, rubbing the palms of her hands together as if she were ready to start this very moment. That plan, of course, had to be put on the back burner now that a new face had approached the two of them.

She almost wanted to laugh aloud at the impressive change in Yeonmi’s body language. You’re good. Winsley remained relaxed in her seat, but allowed her head to tilt towards the young man. Immediately her eyes caught sight of his curls: nearly perfect ringlets. His hazel eyes were captivating, and the way he carried himself naturally seemed to attract attention. There was something about his vibe that seemed very catching, although Winnie couldn’t quite place her finger on what exactly that was. Perhaps it was his confidence; she could appreciate someone with a good bit of confidence in themselves.

“Oh, you’ve come to the best place,” Winnie practically gushed, genuine in what she was saying. “You can’t go wrong with breakfast places but this one has better options than half the places I’ve visited in New York. Their Belgian waffles are to die for, seriously.” She flashed a smile in Yeonmi’s direction. “This is one of the first places we met in person, remember?” As if the rest of the young man’s words settled into her mind, Winnie straightened up and shifted her body to properly face him. “Are you new here, then? I’m Winnie, this is Yeonmi. The best person you’ll meet here in Thistlewood. You approached the right table.” Her last few words were playful, especially because realistically, she doubted any citizen of the town would turn anyone away, but it was nice that it was her and Yeonmi chatting to someone new. “Have you been here long? I don’t think I’ve seen you around before ─ I definitely wouldn't have forgotten your face.”
