Long ago, there existed a tribe of wolves known at the Wolves of Light. These wolves ruled the forest and mountains in which they dwelled, living a peaceful and simple life. As time what on, these wolves came to develope different ideals and beliefs that contradicted one another. This conflict soon turned to fighting, and the wolves eventually broke off into two seperate tribes: Tribe of the Rising Moon, and Tribe of the Setting Sun. These two tribes have since been at war with one another, the land they once ruled together split down the middle and divided. In the midst of this conflict, many have died and many more hurt. Will this war ever end, or will the two tribes forever feud?

~~☪☀Introduction☀☪~~

Hello, and welcome to Wolves of Light. As you've already read above, this roleplay is basically about two feuding tribes of wolves living in a forested mountainous area. In the next few posts I will explain more about each tribe, their beliefs, powers your wolves may be able to possess, the area in which they live, and the rules you must follow in order to participate. Thank you very much for showing your interest, and I'd love to be able to roleplay with you.

NOTE: Please read first five posts on this page! They are all very important! I understand that they look long, but they're really not! It'll take two minutes, so please read them!

~~☪☀Setting☀☪~~


~~☪☀Forested Mountains☀☪~~
This is an overview of the area in which the two tribes live, a forested and mountainous region.


~~☪☀Forest Floor☀☪~~
This is a basic view of the forest floor and the environment in which the wolves live everyday.


~~☪☀Tree of Life☀☪~~
The Tree of Life is a sacred symbol and landmark of the Tribe of the Setting Sun. It is, they believe, the first ever created thing in the universe, and they strongly believe that the tree itself has a direct connection with the sun, which they worship. On cloudy days, when they believe the sun has been angered, they will each touch their nose to the tree and prey for the sun to return.


~~☪☀Stream of Light☀☪~~
This stream runs directly down the middle of the forest, separating the two tribes' territories. Any wolf who sets foot over the stream is trespassing and immediately vulnerable to attack. It acts as a boundary.


~~☪☀The Moon Pool☀☪~~

This pool sits at the head of the stream and is fed my a constantly flowing waterfall. Again, the pool acts as a boundary between the two tribes and no wolf is to ever cross it. The pool is also very sacred to the Tribe of Athens Rising Moon, as at midnight, the moon's highest peak, it reflects perfectly in the water, appearing almost as if the sky itself were resting upon the surface of the pool.

~~☪☀Rankings☀☪~~

In the tribes there is a certain system of ranking, or a hierarchy. This system is to ensure that the tribes run efficiently and that each wolf has a place in which they belong. The following is the order of ranking and exceptions to the rankings.

~~☪☀Exceptions☀☪~~

~Now, allow me to explain why it is the spirit healer ranks above alpha. While the alpha is in charge and rules the tribe, the spirit healer is actually the most powerful and holds the most influence and power in the tribe. Alphas are, in fact, expected to not only listen to the spirit healer, but to also treat them as someone of higher regards and obey them as a higher ranking position. The alpha does rule, though, and spirit healers must listen to the alpha unless they have a sufficient reason not to.
~It is completely possible for wolves to change ranks, so don't ever feel as if you are completely stuck in a position.
~The first pup of an alpha is also an alpha, despite not being in rule. Any other pups the alpha has, however, will be an omega.

~~☪☀Ranking Descriptions☀☪~~

Alpha: The leader of the pack, the alphas are the rulers of the tribes. There can be as many as three alphas per tribe. Alpha, the alpha's mate, and the alpha's firstborn pup. Alphas control their packs and rule over the other members. Alphas are to be obeyed and to disobey an alpha is to go against tribe rule and in consequence can prompt punishment.
Beta: The second in command, betas aid in ruling the pack and are first in charge when the alpha become unavailable. If the alpha dies, however, they do not take over unless there are no other alphas in the tribe. Beta includes the beta and their mate, but not any offspring.
Delta: Third in command, they take over when the alpha and beta are unavailable. It is rare that the position of delta is actually used, but the deltas are looked upon with respect and treated as a senior member of the clan with a higher ranking, and often serve as a confidant to the alpha and beta. Delta includes delta and mate, but not any offspring.
Spirit/Sun Healer: The most powerful and influential position in the tribe, the spirit healer is both the healer of the tribe as well as the only contact to the spirits. They are the only wolf capable of connecting with the spirits, and have the strongest powers of anyone in the tribe. They are incredibly powerful, and regarded with the highest of all respects. They also hold he power to overrule the alpha when needed.
Lead Hunter/Huntress: The best Hunter in the tribe. They control hunting groups, ration food, and see to the training of omegas and pups in hunting.
Lead Warrior: The strongest and best warrior in the tribe. They organize parties of warriors when the tribe is under threat, and also maintain guards within the pack to protect from any surprise attacks. They are often called upon to assist the alpha and delta in planning attacks, defenses, etc.
Lead Scout: The wolf in charge of scouts. They organize and maintain scouts to keep an eye out for possible threats to the tribe. In case of threat, attack, suspicious activity, etc., they would be first to reort to the alpha.
Warriors: The wolves best trained fighting who would be called upon in the case of an attack.
Hunters: The wolves best trained in hunting who help to provide food to the tribe.
Scouts: The wolves who scout the tribe's territory for any signs of threat and report to the lead scout in the case that they do.
Expecting/Nursing: Female wolves who are either pregnant or nursing young pups.
Omegas: Wolves who have yet to decided a rank. They will eventually be placed elsewhere.
Pups: Young wolf pups who are not old enough to be considered omega.
Loners: Wolves who don't belong to either tribe and wander about on their own. They have no set territory, and tend to be very wary of others. Tribe members hate them.

~~☪☀Spirit's Code (Tribe of the Rising Moon)☀☪~~

☪ The protection of the tribe comes first and foremost. Your loyalty remains with them.
☪ Any sort of a relationship, platonic or not, with a wolf from the other tribe is strictly forbidden.
☪ The spirit healer may not be involved in any romantic relationship, nor may they have pups as it is a distraction from the spirits above.
☪ Omegas are forbidden from having pups until they have achieved a steady rank.
☪ Fighting within the tribe is forbidden.
☪ It is forbidden to leave the den during a new moon.
☪ You may not hunt on a full moon.
☪ Hunt what can be eaten. Do not take more.
☪ Pups and their mothers eat first.
☪ The alpha is in charge, and must be obeyed at all times with the exception of the spirit healer, who may undermine them only when needed.
☪ Thank the spirits for their generosity. Be grateful for what they have given you.
☪ In the case of an eclipse you must bow before the moon.

~~☪☀Sun Law (Tribe of the Setting Sun)☀☪~~

☀ The sun gave you life, so thank it for it's graciousness.

Loners have no code or law to abide by.

NOTE: You MAY break either the Sun Law or Spirit's Code, but if caught by other members of your tribe you WILL face punishment.

~~☪☀Beliefs☀☪~~

Each tribe has their own seperate set of beliefs, or religion in a sense. This is the base of their conflict, and the main reason that they fight.

The Tribe of the Setting Sun believes that the sun created life and continues to allow them to thrive, but that if they do not worship the sun properly it will one day disappear, destroying life along with it. They believe that when clues cover the sun it means the sun is upset with them, hence why they essentially prey in cloudy days. They also believe that eclipses are warnings of sort, acting as a reminder that the sun is constantly watching them and assessing them.

The Tribe of the Rising Moon believes that the moon created life in the beginning, but then that the spirits took control from there and now provide them with the meat they hunt and any luck or misfortune they recieve. They believe that the spirits live on the moon and that the spirit's power wanes and wades along with the light of the moon. The larger the moon, the more powerful the spirit's powers. The smaller, the weaker. This is why they fear the new moon, as they believe that it is the time when the spirits are at their weakest and cannot protect them. The spirit healer's powers also wane and wade with the moon as well.

~~☪☀Powers☀☪~~

In this roleplay, certain wolves have special abilities given to them by either the spirits or the sun (depending on beliefs). It is unknown how exactly the powers are divided up, but although many wolves in each tribe may possess powers, very few will have more than a small amount of ability. The following are different types of powers that wolves can possess.

Sun/Spirit Healer

The sun/spirit healer is the only wolf in the tribe who possesses the ability to speak directly with the spirits or sun. They can contact the spirits through willpower, but may not always get through. The easiest time for the sun healer to contact the sun is at noon, when it is at its highest point, and the easiest point for the spirit healer is at midnight when the he moon is at its highest, especially during a full moon. At times, spirits will even possess them and speak through them when trying to contact another wolf, using the healer as a vessel to briefly visit the physical world. Spirits can use the healers in other ways as well by sending them a glimpse of the future, dreams to aid them in a problem or warn them of future events, or even appearing before them to speak directly. The healers also possess the power to heal, hence making them the healers in the tribes. The greater the injury, the more energy and power it takes for them to heal. Finally, they also have the ability to cause storms when seriously angered, but it causes an immense amount of energy. This occurs when the healer becomes incredibly infuriated to the point of blind rage, and a spirit will take hold of their body and create a storm around them. When this happens, the wolf's eyes will begin to glow, and they will fall unconcious afterwards, waking up with no recollection what happened before they went into their fury. This can be very dangerous not only to those around them, but they themselves as well.

Common Abilities

~ Quick moving and agile
~ Strong
~ Very sensitive hearing
~ Strong sense of smell
~ Sixth sense (can sense an approaching creature, although cannot sense whether friend or foe)
~ Total night vision
~ The ability to jump high and far
~ Ability to smell fear (clearly and absolutely)
~ Electromagnetism sight (A great skill for trackers, hunters, and scouts alike, though who perceive life through the em spectrum are useful indeed. With this, they can see the neutral impulses running through the body of any living creature, which makes hunting a breeze. On the downside, they make not be able to turn this power off, and can be driven mad by the constant bright flashes.)
~Enhanced Synthesia (An ability that stimulates the cognitive function, allowing one to perceive the stereotypical five senses in a different form. For example, one would be able to see soundwaves, or smell sights.)

Uncommon Abilities

~ Empathetic sense (can sense bad vibes and lying)
~ The ability to see far and clearly
~ Wind Whip (the ability to control small amounts of wind)
~ Photographic memory
~ Bi-Lingual (can understand the language of any creature, including humans, squirrels, birds, etc.)
~ Emotional turn off (the ability to 'turn off' their emotions, per say, so that they have no emotions whatsoever while they have this power activated.)
~ Light absorption (the ability to essentially 'blind' and opponent for a few moments by absorbing the light they see while remaining unphased yourself.)
~ Ability to turn off one's pulse
~ Telepathy (to speak to others through your mind, but they cannot respond)
~ Teleportional Portal Creation (A fellow with this power would be able to rip open a 'doorway', which allows them, and others to travel elsewhere. Overuse may be tiring, and handling too many open portals at any given time can implode your soul.)
~Force-field generation (Those who posses the power to generate forcefields are unique indeed. Using their mind, they can produce a translucent, shimmering field which can protect those they love. Unfortunately, the higher the field - the harder it is to maintain.)

Rare Abilities
(Unfortunately, there is a limit to how many wolves can have each power. I may allow more later, however.)

~ Rage (the ability to go into a blind rage in battle in which they do not hold back and cannot feel pain. This ability cannot be consciously controlled. ONLY ONE MORE WOLF!)
~ The ability to not ever feel pain (ONLY ONE MORE WOLF!)
~ Water spirit possession (when a wolf is possessed by a water spirit at birth and then gain the ability to control water. This power needs tons of practice to control, but can be used untamed when pressured, panicked, or angered. ONLY THREE WOLVES!)
~ Fire spirit possession (when a wolf is possessed by a fire spirit at birth and then gain the ability to control fire. This power needs tons of practice to control, but can be used untamed when pressured, panicked, or angered. ONLY THREE WOLVES!)
~ Earth spirit possession (when a wolf is possessed by an earth spirit at birth and then gain the ability to communicate with plants. This power needs tons of practice to control, but can be used untamed when pressured, panicked, or angered. ONLY THREE WOLVES!)
~ Wings (the ability to grow feathered wings from their shoulder that they can use to fly. Requires much practice and energy. ONLY ONE MORE WOLF!)
~ Puppeteer (An unusual and complex power, puppeteer is an umbrella term giving to those who can control the movements of others; whether forcibly seized or willingly given. Considered dangerous, puppeteers are a rare folk. Luckily, puppeteers can only control the movements of one wolf at any given time. ONLY TWO WOLVES!)
~Spontaneous Combustion (Unlike wolves who have be possessed by a fire spirit, this power is a tad different. When their emotions are at their max - wolves with this power will spontaneously burst into flames; burning any nearby targets. A good tactic if one is charging through the battlefield. Unfortunately, it lasts a limited amount of time, and can be unpredictable.)

Unique
(powers belonging only to ONE wolf created by their user. If the user wants to make this a listed (above) and available power for other users to use, then they may say so and I'll add it. :3)

~ Shadow Manipulation - Implosion
~ Voice Mimicry and Projection - Implosion
~ Color Alteration (the ability to change pelt and eye color) - Implosion
~ Glass Form (Pros are that in glass form he doesn't need to sleep or eat. He can sit perfectly still. He's very sharp edged and cut those who touch him. The glass is so clear that when he's still in the shadows he's pretty much invisible. The cons though. To even this out. In the sun he shimmers brightly and is overly obvious it's like a light show. He is glass and in this way he can be shattered. Though by touch is not advised. Being shattered he doesn't die but instead returns to being a regular wolf and very injured. He could be melted by fire it'd take a lot though. He could reform eventually but it'd take him a while.) - Saahara

There's other pros and cons. But I cannot seem to think of all of them now.

Snow is quiet and shy, but also fiercely independent and strong minded. She won't ever back down from her beliefs, and isn't afraid to put someone in their place. She is very kind and caring, and gets along well with others, especially pups and younger omegas, still being quite young herself. She can become easily overwhelmed at times, but doesn't show it and instead stays strong for the rest of the tribe. Although she normally sticks to the rules, she is one to follow her heart and isn't afraid to challenge her own beliefs and morales, or even her tribe itself, to do what she believes is right.

Snow what very sickly as a young pup, and the last Spirit Healer had said that she wouldn't make it through the winter. However, on the day of the first snowfall she awoke fully for the first time in a month and walked outside while her mother slept, surprising everyone in the tribe. It was later discovered that her powers had kicked in as the snow fell, and she had healed herself, saving her own life.

Aaron is the strong silent type, and doesn't like to interact with other wolves. He much prefers the solitary life of a loner to that of a tribe member, and has no regrets with the way his life turned out. He doesn't really talk much, and he does his best to avoid getting involved in the tribal conflict. He would never, however, let another wolf die in front of him, and is willing to fight if nessecary, but otherwise will avoid it. He's also fairly cold towards others, and has a tendency to push them away.

Aaron's mother was shot by a hunter when he was just a pup, and an animal rescue shelter found him and took him in. That's where he got his very human name. They released him back into the wild when he was one year old, and at first he had no clue of what to do, having lived in the shelter for so many months. He figured it out quickly though, and soon became a loner living in the mountains and woods that also held the two tribes so famous for their eternal war. Those were the woods where he was born, and so he can assume that he used to be a member of one of the tribes and may even have other family, but he isn't sure.

Cayt is outgoing, friendly, and loves to have a good time. He is, hiwever, bored easily, and very impatient as well. He tends to 'go into the zone' where he is completely focused on one particular thing and becomes very serious, shutting out all other distractiona. This is most common for him during battles and when hunting. Other than that he is one of the friendliest, kindest wolves you will ever meet.

Cayt's sister Dana died giving birth a year ago, and unfortunately, neither her nor the pups made it. He became somewhat depressed after that, and everyone in the pack helped to try and cheer him up. He eventually got over it and returned to normal, but the subject is still very touchy to him and he hates to talk about it, as she was his only family, leaving him with no more kin.

Eagle is very intelligent and a deep thinker. He is very serious, and looks upj everything in a very logical way. He is, however, also very kind and caring, and treats all wolves with kindness and respect. He is even respectful to his enemies, treating them as equals despite disagreements between them. He is extremely adamant about following the Sun Law, and does not tolerate any sort of violation, as he is most certainly the type to put his paw down and deliver punishment without hesitation or exceptation.

Eagle is one of the older members between the two tribes and has seen a lot in his time. It is because of this that he holds a deep respect not only for his own tribe but for the Tribe of he Rising Moon as well. He believes that all wooves are born equal, and that the world is meant to be shared. He is considered very spiritual and deep, and so a lot of wolves tend to disagree with him, but he is also one of the most intelligent and kind hearted wolves you will ever meet.
