Well, our battles here aren't exactly war. Not yet at least. No one has officially declared it or anything, it's just two sides continuously fighting to gain the upper hand in a struggle over power. So far my side is winning. We've been in a stalemate for a while, two years to be exact, but our allies from across the seas have recently contacted us and they've sent reinforcements. The first wave got here yesterday but the others are still to arrive. The fresh troops gave us the edge we needed and now we've managed to take the city of Tohoth, one of the provinces of Fellskie.
We ourselves are from the great nation of Talrent. We're in this battle due to a power struggle between our two governments. See, in our world there are these crystals. Each crystal is a different color and coincides with a different strength. White for example grants speed. Lets keep going with the white as our focus. The crystals can be sort of... experimental, if you'd care to put it that way. There is no limit to how they can be used except for your own imagination. For a scout such as myself the white crystals can be used to grant us quickness and endurance in long runs. But a medic may use that same crystal to heal a wound far faster than the natural rate. Get my meaning? But you have to be careful with this power as each of us can only use one color. Any other would overwhelm our senses and render us unable to do anything. So how can we tell which color we are compatible with? Our markings. Mine are white, so I use white crystals. My friend has green markings, so she sticks with those crystals. If your markings are blue, you use blue. And so on. There have been rare cases where two crystals can be used by one, but that ability is rapidly fading from our bloodlines.
Explanation aside, these crystals are not all that common. There are only a few in the lands we fight over and both sides have sent expeditions into the mountains to search for any deposits unknown to us. Being the sort of beings we are, neither of our leaders want the other to control more of these crystals than themselves. No one wants the other to become too strong. We've had issues with that in the past...
Anyways there's not much to do besides track down these crystals and take them in before the other group does.
