Calamity pushed Sleet away from the bush and back up to her room. "Stay here. I need to find Gok." She stopped and put her head in her hand. "Dear God, it sounds like I like him or something." Shaking her head, she stepped out of her room, closed the door, and disappeared to go find him.

The beast exhaled heavily through his nostrils as he continued his thorough walk through the territory. Boredom was consuming him, as these nightly patrols often did. Hunger would soon follow as his belly emitted a low grumbling. With ease, his jaws snatched up some poor woodland vermin in his killer jaws, not even breaking his stride as he continued along, the bones of his prey now crunching loudly in his powerful jaws as he chewed on the carcass of whatever he had caught.

"I don't understand why I have to do these every night, no one would be stupid enough to try and strike against us in an environment they can't even see well enough to get through."

Me grumbled to no one but himself, his mouth stiff full with his catch.

Calamity appeared a yard away from him and her shadowy form shaped into the dark form of a wolf. Her glowing white eyes reflected the light, making her eyesight just as good as any nocturnal animals. Sneaking along soundlessly, she watched him from a distance, wondering when the right time would be to approach.

Gok made one last pass through his route, still casually chewing on the dead animal that hang from his maw like it was a play thing more than his food. At this point, his face showing what earned him the nickname "the red Dog" as it was stained crimson. As he finally began to make his way back toward the King's fortress, he hesitated, seeing two white glowing orbs in the distance. He coukl practically groan as he finally swallowed what was left of his catch. Wasn't hard for him to figure out who would be wondering around with the bright white eyes.

"What do you want?"

He called out to her.

Calamity fell over in surprise, yelping as she fell. Scrambling to stand up, she blinked her wide eyes and flattened her dark ears. "Nothing.. nothing, why would I want anything from you. I was.. um.. I was looking for Nagira." She nodded quickly. " She wasn't on guard outside of my room and I was going to punish her." She slowly shaped back into her shadowy form.

One of eyes widened as the other narrowed, tilting his head as he watched Calamity's erratic behavior. Stumbling over herself and her words. He felt like he should laugh at her clumsiness, but he found her behavior more odd than amusing.

"How bad did that lion knock you are today?"

I half scoffed as he spoke, now making his way toward her.

"Whatever, my shift is done. I'm heading back."

He trotted right past her, barely giving her a second glance as he continued on his way toward the castle, eventually shifting back to his bipedal form with a grunt, once again adjusting his beloved General's coat on his shoulders.

"You need any help dealing out any punishment, give me a yell. God knows I wasn't infamous for my mercy."

He chortled to himself as he continued on.

Calamity watched him go, her mind yelling at her for her stupidity. But there was another feeling, it wasn't in her mind. She dismissed it and shook her head, not really trying to find Nagira. Why exactly had she said that? She had no clue, the only real reason she had come out here.. "Uuugh, why am I such an idiot!" She faceplanted into the tree next to her, making a loud clunking noise.

Sleet smacked his hoof against the door trying to get out. He then trotted to the window and saw Calamity. He was not sure of what was going on but he wanted to protect her. For some reason in his heart he was growing a bond to Calamity. Sleet smashed his hoof against the window.

Calamity's eyes flashed up to her bedroom, where the alicorn broke her window. Her eyes widened and she pulled her head away from the tree so quickly, she fell over backwards. Her eyes flickered as she hit her head against a rock, but she stood. Her eyes still flickered dangerously as she stared at her bedroom window.

He couldn't ignore the sound of shattering glass as his eyes immediately darted to the source, seeing a... horse... Standing in the now empty window opening. His face twisted as he turned back to his fellow soldier.

"Why is the bluest of blue hells is there a horse in the castle?"

He turned to look back up at the starnge beast before another piece of information dawned on him, once again turning back to Calamity.

"And why the hell is there a horse in your room?"
