Acile's ears pricked at the sound of the familiar, sarcastic voice. "You!" she snarled, but she quickly lost whatever insult she was going to throw at him, as the bear had reared on its hind paws and was bellowing in rage at Gizmo and the large dog that had evidently scratched its nose. She saw blood running down the beasts muzzle, seeping into its maw. Gizmo, however, charged the brute. "Alice, RUN!" He howled, sinking his fangs into the bear's ankle. It roared in pain and rage and swiped a paw at Gizmo, sending him flying. Gizmo landed with a thud, but staggered to his paws and charged again.

"Don't be an idiot dog! Don't try and fight it! That thing is stronger than all of us together, but its as dumb as deadwood!" Pushing the dog aside, Mersonas bit deep into the bear's shin. Giving a roar of annoyance rather than pain, the animal slashed at his side, hitting him firmly, sending him flying to one side. "Now do as I say and run!

Gizmo stumbled as he was shoved by the other dog. "No! You go! Get my sister away from here, I'll distract the bear!" he snarled. He knew he wasn't going to make it out of this alive, but he had to protect Alice. The bear bellowed in protest as Gizmo sank his teeth into its foreleg, and it shook him like a ragdoll, but he held on.

Jade, a lean battle-scarred mutt with a grizzled muzzle and slightly milky eyes stood watching her surroundings. Her keen ears swivled back and forth, catching each small sound. The howls of agony that other dogs emitted, the squeals of rats fighting over a piece of food. One ear shot backwards at the sound of approaching footfalls. The steps were confident, bold, and unafraid. "Hello Diablo." She did not have to catch the dog's scent, or see him to know who it was. She knew his footsteps by heart as she had raised him from a pup.

The scent of blood filled her nostrils and she turned expectantly to the other dog. A lean-muscled, smooth coated, long haired dog. His fur colors mainly shades of brown and whites. She looked him over, seeing a cut above one of his eyes, and a few dead rats at his paws. The blood she had smelled was his, not that of the dead animals. They smelled like carrion, inedible. "You know better than to try and live off of rotten prey." Jade snorted, licking the blood off his face.

Diablo paused, brown ears flicking forwards. Eyes darting back and forth. He hurried forwards, looking all eyes for two rat carcasses on the ground. He didn't hear the warning hiss until a clawed paw lashing across his face. He yelped and jumped backwards, glaring at the cat that had clawed him. He barked loudly and jumped towards it. It mweoed loudly then scurried off, leaving the two rats behind. Diablo snorted and picked waht remained of the rotten flesh by the tails and hurried back to where he had left Jade.

As soon as he neared Jade he slowed, not wanting to spook her. Her eyesight was not as good as it used to be, but he still underestimated her. She heard him coming long before he reached her. A smelled his blood before he even knew he was bleeding. He dropped the two rats on the ground and looked at his friend. "It's better than nothing Jade!" He snapped, exasperated.

"Don't even try and fight it! I've seen this thing before. if you want your sister to live, then stop struggling! This monster won't stop till its killed all its prey." Mersonas pounced on the bear's back (bear back riding X3) which only made it even more enraged. It began to shake vigorously, and the dog soon lost his grip; not even ivy could have clung onto it for any length of time.

I could hear a commotion going on somewhere off in the distance. I yawned and began trotting to the lobby. Fights were everywhere, disease ran rampant. Life was a struggle, but it was the only thing I knew. I needed to eat if I wanted to live another day. I hopped through an open window, ever mindful of the glass around my paws and weary of glass and concrete falling from the sky. My stomach reminded me, more loudly than before, the urgency of finding my next meal. I would either need to find something dead and eat it or hope for rats; I wasn't picky. Whatever filled my stomach made me happy...

Gizmo fell to the ground with a yelp as the bear shook free of him. He landed on his paws, snarling at the bear. "I don't care! It hasn't seen her yet, so just take her and go! I'll distract it," he said, snapping at the creatures heels. Alice stood frozen, torn between the need to fight the bear, to help her brother, and the instinct to run.

Whats this? Rosca's dark outline watched from above the Bear. If I try to help, it'll worse it. I shall spare his body from the grips of the bear. Rosca's yellow eyes watched the dog closely, I'm sorry, I can't help. Shall I howl? Maybe distract the bear from the dog? Rosca stood there not moving as he vowed to help this dog rest peacefully.

Jade stiffened, inhaling deeply. "Diablo, do you smell that?" She heard the other dog give a grunt and took it as a yes. "Do you know what it is?" Another grunt. "Bear, dog, and blood. Howl Diablo." She turned her frantic searching gaze on the dog before her. "Please Diablo!"

Diablo sighed, sniffing the air. Jade was right, bear, dog, and blood. He tensed, growling lightly. He cringed when Jade rounded on him, her eyes frantic. He couldn't bring hismelf to say no to the elderly dog and muttered a curse under his breath. The stood for a moment, closing his eyes and tilting his head back, letting his coyote roots show in his howl. His howl was ear-piercing, blood curdling, and spine-tingling. He may well have had the scariest howl know to dog-kind. When he was finished he let out a series of barks, smarls, and yips, before howling again. Finished he turned to Jade. "Satisfied?" He let out a sign of releif at her terse nod.
