Larkin Stoker - The Head of Household - Human, 25 - Location: His Study - Tags: Open
A distance but loud sound erupted suddenly as Larkin was trying to very quietly pass the staff’s quarters. It was such a strange sound like a tune that kept getting louder and softer again. Surely whatever was making the noise would give him away. Quickly scrambling to find the noise, Larkin started to drift into a more conscious state and realized the noise was his alarm to wake up.
Larkin cracked open his eyes and sleepily said “Alexa, stop.” The music stop and a ding went off before it was quiet again in the study. He didn’t want to move, not with the feeling of exhaustion and but his body felt so uncomfortable being slouched over his desk. Slowly, he sat up and stretched his body in an attempt to maybe get rid of some of the soreness and pain.
His study was still rather dark but the soft glow of light coming between the blinds suggested that the morning had come already. Lark glanced over at the small banana-shaped bed on the outside of his desk by his monitor but it seemed empty. It’s occupant somewhere else around here somewhere surely. A sigh left his lips as he sat back in the chair, trying to wake up but he knew he would require coffee to achieve that level of awareness so early.
Lark’s blue eyes settled on a yellow square piece of paper stuck out on his monitor that said ‘Elysia, airport at 10am.’ Right, a reminder that she was coming back. He was still upset about what happened last time but at least he knew better than to make any more bets with her. Next time probably really would ruin his reputation if he lost again. Good thing he already made arrangements for someone to pick her up to bring her here so he didn’t have to worry about trying to get over there. Now... Where was LeMarc so he could request his morning coffee? After all, his favorite butler is the only one who knows how to make it just perfect. Not to mention... Seeing him always made Larkin’s day better.
Elysia Rowan - Guest - Fae/Human, 23 - Location: Crescentwood - Tags: Open
A loud voice announcing they had arrived at their destination brought Elysia back from her dream world as the people around her started to shuffling around in their seat. A warm blanket was wrapped around her body and she lifted her head up from the cold window, groggily looking around to see people gathering their items and their bags from the overhead storage.
Stretching and letting out a soft yawn, the young woman removed her blanket and was greeted by coldness as she started gathering her items together as well. Elysia had to wait a bit to grab her luggage from the overhead but once she was able to, the fae started making her way to the exit of the plane. Hopefully, her cousin remembered she was arriving today and had at least a car waiting. Surely he wouldn’t still be upset about her over something that happened two years ago, right? After exiting the plane and making her way to the arrivals, Elysia pulled out her phone and turned it off airplane mode to see if she had any text messages from Lark. Nothing but when she looked back in and around, Elysia caught sight of her name being held on a piece and paper and made her way over.
It wasn’t anyone she recognized but they took her bags and opened the car door for her to get inside. After she did, they shut the door and Elysia pulled out a small compact mirror to see how bad her hair was. Bedhead wasn’t exactly the ideal way she wanted to show up to the manor with. While she was working on fixing that, the driver had put the stuff into the truck and started driving to the estate.
The driver politely let Elysia know that they had made it to the manor. Putting away her book, the fae grabbed her purse and book before getting out of the car. Everything kind of looked the same, some additions but nothing huge or crazy. Elysia wasn’t sure what she had expected but she didn’t think she would have such a nostalgic feeling looking at the mansion. All the memories of her visiting as a child while she grew up kind of rushed back to her and left a slight melancholy feeling. Now, she was coming back one last time for enjoyment before getting married. The bitter reminder was slightly painful as it wasn’t something she wanted or was ready to do quite yet. However, she wanted to make her family happy and it’s not like the guy was awful or anything. It’s just the lack of real connection that made her so displeased about it all and she really did try. At least she hid the ring deep down in her luggage so she didn’t have the constant reminder of the union that would soon happen. She wasn’t ready to tell anyone here yet either, she wasn’t ready for them to treat her differently yet or congratulate her on something she didn’t care for.
Pushing all the troubling thoughts away, Elysia lifted her chin up and smile at the happy feeling of being back. She was determined to have a fun time and to say hi to familiar faces. Surely, new staff must have moved in as well since she was gone for two years. It will be nice meeting all the new people too. Ready to take in anything, the half-human girl walked confidently up to the estate and disappeared inside to seek out the master of the house.
Katheryne Grey - “Homeless” - Werewolf, 19 - Location: Airedale - Tags: Open
Katheryne had woken up a little later in the morning since it was normal for her to stay up late into the night. The morning light streaming through her window eventually woke the werewolf up though. It didn’t really ever take her much to get out of bed and ready for the day. Today especially since she had to go into town later today for a voice lesson. She might get something to drink at the cafe though while she was down there as well. Something warm to drink just felt nice today and she didn’t really have anything in the house here right now. Katie would have to go shopping at some point too but she wanted to procrastinate that just a bit more since shopping was not one of her favorite activities.
The werewolf put on a black sweater and some darker jeans today since she didn’t want to stand out much when she went out. Even though no one can tell what she is when she is fully dressed up, there is still a fear of attention and being noticed by a passerby. Katheryne went into the bathroom and finished getting ready in there. Gently, she put grey eye contacts over her golden eyes to hide their unnatural appearance. Now, she just looked like anyone else walking down the streets and nothing strange popping out for someone to notice.
Before leaving the house to attend to her lesson, Katie cleaned up a little bit with the dishes and wiping some things down. Since Evan had found peace, it has just been her in this old house so she had spent time trying to fix it up. She managed to fix some minor things like the steps outside and clean up all the dust as well as damaged items. It made her uncomfortable to get rid of the things but they would have just sat there and cluttered up areas. The pictures had been cleaned off and moved to make it more noticeable in the house, even daring to add a picture of her and Belinda to the wall. It hurt to look at the area sometimes but she wanted to appreciate the people who showed her kindness and helped her through life. If only she could have returned the favor to them.
Finishing the dishes, Katie grabbed some of the money from her stash and left the house. The trees and the familiar scenery of the forest greeted her as she became her stroll to the town. It was the time of year that some of the trees had already started to change to yellow and red, the signal of fall descending among the area. A chilly breeze swept around her that kicked up a few fallen leaves on the group and dragged them to a new location. Katheryne slightly wrapped her arms around herself as she quickened her walk. It wasn’t long before she got to a dirt walking trail in the forest that would lead her towards a park. Following the route, Katie made it to town and put her head down a little to avoid making eye contact with any strangers. The cafe was only a few minutes away and then she would be able to enjoy a nice cup of hot chocolate.
