History
Rome grew up Barstow California running the streets. He never knew his father and his mother dies when he was still young. He spent a lot of his youth just running the streets with his friends. However, after a rade came through the town and many people were killed Roman was encouraged to move on. He got behind the wheel of a car and never looked back.

Sinbad was born in the middle east. However, his mother moved to the states with him when he was still very small. They had moved from town to town, never staying in one place for more than six months. When he was 13 his mother died. He has been keeping with that lifestyle ever since.

Rielle is quite unpredictable. She thinks with her heart more than her brain, and this can lead her into trouble. She’s very emotional, and her mood can change very quickly. She tends to overthink everything, and interacting with others is difficult for her. She comes across as awkward or shy due to her nervous nature. Once she’s warmed up to someone, though, Rielle can become very lively and talkative. Her sense of humor definitely consists of a lot of sarcasm. She’s a harsh rule- follower, never the one to seek out trouble intentionally, she likes to stay under the radar of authoritative figures as best she can. She likes to stay on the good side of the people in charge simply to avoid confrontation. She’s sort of seen as a pushover in that aspect, but she sees it as being safe. She tends to stick to herself most of the time, though she won’t turn down the chance to make a new friend if approached. Rielle doesn’t have a bad bone in her body- she’s compassionate and empathetic, and she tries to see the best in people regardless of how they come across. She’s very naive in that sense. However, Rielle is very book smart, and loved school growing up. She was always eager to learn about everything she could. Though she’s very careful with shifting, as she knows the dangers of being caught by the scientists, Rielle does spend a lot of time in her animal form. She enjoys the feeling of freedom that comes along with flight.

Now that’s she’s fresh out of school, Rielle works as a veterinary assistant at the local animal hospital. She lives with her grandmother in a small house in a less busy part of town.

animal information; pteranodons lived during the late cretaceous period and were one of the largest pterosaurs. most of a pteranodon's flight would have depended on soaring but it probably required an occasional active, rapid burst of flapping to keep them aloft - of pteranodon wing loading (the strength of the wings vs. the weight of the body) indicate that they were capable of substantial flapping flight. they likely took off from a standing, quadrupedal position.uUsing their long forelimbs for leverage, they would have vaulted themselves into the air in a rapid leap, the upstroke of the wings would have occurred when the animal cleared the ground followed by a rapid down-stroke to generate additional lift and complete the launch into the air.

personality; cool, calm and collected, it's rare to see an outburst of any kind from tobias. he's relatively hard to read most of the time and many can tend to take this as him being stoic or anti-social, both of which aren't exactly the case. in fact, tobias is an incredibly well-natured and friendly guy who is capable of being outgoing when the time is right, although a majority of his time is spent with a more mellow personality. he's always willing to listen to other people and if a perfect person to vent to, however, once it comes to his own problems he will often avoid the subject via witty comments or rapid-fire humour, joking to change the subject from his own personal problems. quite a tough and determined person, tobias has undying loyalty to those that earn it and he has the tendency to easily attach to older men who fill in the role as a father figure for him. he is also at times sardonic and witty as well as charismatic. tobias is also altruistic which can lead to him finding himself in difficult situations depending on the people he is with as he is willing to put himself at risk at the expense of protecting other people. despite this selfless nature, though, he can have occasional mischievous streaks where he lets himself relax more and participate in questionable activities as long as they are reasonable and would not put people in harms way.

history; tobias was born to two relatively young shifters - evan and caroline lahey - and is the eldest of three, having two eight year old twin sisters - annie and sophie - which he often has to care for since the death of his father when tobias was ten and while his mother is busy with her full-time jobs. having taken up the role as a parent for his two sisters since a relatively young age this has helped him become more independent and generally more tolerant of other people around him as well as empathetic and usually taking the position of an arbitrator and the voice of reason, deliberating between equally viable options in a manner that seeks to disarm any opposition. having finished with school and now being faced with the working world, tobias has several part-time jobs so that he is able to be home to care for his sisters when he needs to be, these jobs include being a barista at a small coffee shop, occasionally helping at a bakers as well as working in an antique shop.

animal information; microraptors lived during the early cretaceous period and was among the smallest-known non-avian dinosaurs. it is speculated that it may have glided using all four limbs for lift with ubsequent studies suggesting that microraptors were capable of powered flight as well. it is believed that the microraptor was a glider, and probably lived mainly in trees, because the hindwings anchored to the feet of microraptor would have hindered their ability to run on the ground. studies of incipient flight ability in paravians demonstrated that the microraptor was capable of wing-assisted incline running, as well as wing-assisted leaping and even ground-based launching. due to the hindwings on most of the animal's foot, many scientists have suggested that microraptor would have been awkward during normal ground movement or running; the front wing feathers would also have made travelling on the ground difficult, due to the limited range of motion in the wrist and the extreme length of the wing feathers. only by keeping the wings elevated, or the upper arm extended fully backward, could microraptor have avoided damaging the wing feathers

personality; adaline is an imaginative, wild, energetic young girl. she is bubbly and excitable as well as incredibly chatty and capable of keeping a conversation with almost everyone she meets - this results in many often make a comment that it can be slightly overwhelming keeping up with her at times. her hyperactivity is also accompanied with a short attention-span and terrible memory, easily forgetting if she told someone a story already or not which leads to her repeating herself again. she has no interest in growing up and becoming mature, instead favouring childish and exciting activities over ones that she deems boring. adaline enjoys letting her creativity and imagination run wild, often times being found drawing or writing stories rather than focusing on her surroundings. her inability to sit still and her general restlessness makes her overwhelming and can make her come off as irritating which is not her intention - although she is not against pestering people to get what she wants. she is also extremely naive, gullible and oblivious, making it easy to lie to her or sway her opinion. furthermore, she has a significant amount of self-doubt and can easily be tricked or forced to believe that those she holds close don’t truly like her and will eventually leave her - this is due to abandonment issues she suffers from after being abandoned by her family at the age of twelve which then led to her spending a majority of her life until the age of sixteen living as a microraptor rather than a person. this seclusion is partly a cause of her extroverted nature and makes it so that she will crave the interaction if she’s left alone for too long. furthermore, it makes her incredibly loyal to those that are nice to her, for better or for worse due to her dangerously trusting nature and low standards for friends; as long as someone is friendly to her, it can easily make her become attached.

history; adaline was the second-youngest of six children, thus making her grow up in a rowdy and loud household where you had to yell to be heard. with an older sister by five years called minerva, though, it made growing up significantly easier for her as they were always with each other and face everything together. adaline’s sister was not a shifter like she was which created the first of many splits between the two siblings but still it remained a secret between the two of them. minerva began to become more and more detached from adaline, ignoring her when outside of the house and refusing to recognise her as her sister - this did not stop adaline, though, as she continued to try and push for the relationship they once had. eventually, the situation became dire as minerva began to turn to crime and questionable groups and, naturally, adaline chose to follow her. one night, minerva came to an twelve-year-old adaline for help with something but neglected to explain what they were doing, just that they had to be careful, in fact the group of troubled teenagers were hoping to utilise adaline’s ability to break into the house of a teacher at the local school. the attempt wasn’t successful and resulted in the group being caught, except for adaline who had managed to escape the scene of the crime and return home before her parents were alerted. after discovering her participation and her status as a shifter, her mother wished to turn adaline into the government, however, adaline’s father opposed this and instead took her to a state forest located in new york where adaline stayed for several years of her life, expecting her family to return and collect her until finally realising that they would not be returning. soon enough at the age of sixteen, adaline was found and taken in by a couple who had a foster home with four other children already where she decided to stay, quickly becoming attached due to her desperation for a family again.

animal information; the thylacoleo is from the pliocene period and had the strongest bite of any mammal species living or extinct and was capable of hunting creatures far larger than itself. it had extremely strong fore limbs, with retractable, cat-like claws with enormous hooded claws set on large semiopposable thumbs. the long muscular tail was similar to that of a kangaroo with tail bones called chevrons that allowed the animal to balance on its back legs, and freed the front legs for slashing and grasping. the thylacoleo is believed to be the most specialised mammalian carnivore of all time. its strong forelimbs, retracting claws, and incredibly powerful jaws mean that thylacoleo possibly climbed trees and perhaps carried carcasses to keep the kill for itself - additionally they could have hunted by climbing trees and remaining aloft then later pouncing on the prey beneath them.

personality; quinn is very sarcastic and, more often than not, rude to those around him. he is very much against becoming friends with anybody and is incredibly anti-social as a result which makes trying to get along with him significantly difficult. he only cares for himself and doesn’t bother worrying about the consequences of his actions if they only affect someone else, he likes to make that clear whenever someone attempts to befriend him. that all, however, is a complete facade; a defensive mechanism to avoid being harmed by the people around him which he had become too used to during his life. despite generally being rude and antisocial, he easily becomes flustered around those that seem to genuinely care for him but rather than caring for others in return, he prefers to isolate himself rather than risk hurting those who try to become close to him. short-tempered, competitive and impulsive most of the time, quinn also has a soft side that he keeps concealed from other people. he gets embarrassed quickly and is overprotective of those he cares about despite often being the one to snap at them and become angry. surprisingly, he is quite a sensitive person when it comes to his position as a shifter; he acts unbothered by the constant danger accompanied by being a shifter and the amount of people who have sold him out, but he does this to avoid showing this weakness. he is quick to become flustered in unfamiliar or "unsuitable" situations that he is forced into and often stumbles over words or rephrases sentences to try and hide his feelings.

history; quinn was born into a family of non-shifters and at first it seemed that they were willing to keep him a secret but this resulted in him being isolated from everyone around him. when it came to having to go to get an education, he was excited after successfully convincing the family to allow him to not be homeschooled anymore; at that time being an extroverted child. his excitement was short-lived, though, as he shared the secret with someone he considered to be a close friend which resulted in them informing their parents and the parents informing the government. after being sent away from his home by an outraged family, he bounced around in foster-care for a majority of his formative years, taking up different names to try and avoid being found out. nothing really lasted so he took it upon himself to only look after himself at the age of fifteen, travelling by himself and scavenging. one day he found himself attempting to pull off a robbery but failed significantly. the home belonged to an elderly couple who, much to quinn’s surprise, did not respond with hostility, instead providing a home for him. he learned that the elderly couple once cared for their grandson who was also a shifter but unfortunately were unable to protect him after he was sold out to the government and as a result they were willing to try and protect quinn like they tried to protect their grandson; hopefully succeeding this time.
