The city of Wistakia is a bustling city full of life and prosperity. The huge skyscrapers towering over the city are home to thousands of innocent citizens, people just going about their daily lives.You yourself are one of them. It's a seemingly average Tuesday and you are sitting in a class in Wistakia Central High, the high school you are attending. Suddenly, the loudspeaker crackles to life, and your principal's voice, though faint due to the ancient technology, can be heard. Attention, Wistakia High students and staff, please place the building under lockdown. The class silently gets up and gathers in a corner of the room, out of sight. The teacher locks the door, lets the blinds down, and goes to turn the lights off, but before they can get there, the lights are turned off on their own. Students nervously shift around and whisper to one another. What is going on?

Ready for a word vomit? Okay, here we go.

Thirty years ago, a group called the Watchers was formed, a group loosely based on a local legend in Wistakia. Matthew Barnes, Simon's father, was the founder. Their goal? To successfully genetically engineer a human and give them superhuman abilities. The Watchers recruited intelligent scientists and went to work on their project. Six years later, and they believe that they have a way to alter a human's dna to give them different abilities. Many of the scientists had young or unborn children, so they persuaded the scientists to allow their children to be tested on. Matthew even offered up his own son, Simon. Unfortunately, the experiment was a fail. Many of the children died, with very few surviving. Simon was one of the surviving few. Matthew refused to be discouraged by the failure, however, and continued work on the experiment. At this point, many scientists quit, but Matthew shrugged it off and hired more. Within a month, all of the scientists who resigned go missing. Six more years go by, and Matthew is once again ready to experiment on humans. This time, he was able to get children from the public to experiment on. The experiment was a success, as no one died, but no immediate effects were exhibited by the subjects. Disappointed, Matthew returned the subjects to their families. Fast-forward eighteen years, and the kids are all in high school. Simon has taken over the Watchers and had an idea. He had begun to exhibit siigns of his abilities when he was under a lot of pressure, so what if he was to put his father's subjects under a situation of extreme stress, such as a blackout where the teachers disappear, and, to go even further, somehow remove all of the adults in the city? And that's what he did. Now the subjects and their human friends are stuck in the city with no adult supervision and no way out...

These are the everyday people that go about their daily lives in peace. Even after the Blackout, they're normal, and even after their friends begin to exhibit abnormal behaviour, they're normal. The number of adults seems to be dwindling though, as the majority of Regulars are kids.
𝔸𝕟𝕠𝕞𝕒𝕝𝕚𝕖𝕤
The anomalies seem to be normal, but they're not. In the early days of the Blackout, a few people begin to exhibit erratic behaviour, and these people are dubbed as anomalies. No one really knows what to think about them. Many regulars accept them with open arms, but many fear for their lives and hate the Anomalies. They have reason to, for their numbers are growing every day.
𝕎𝕒𝕥𝕔𝕙𝕖𝕣𝕤
The Watchers are an organisation of people named after a common legend in Wistakia. Unbeknownst to people in the city, they are responsible for the Blackout, the disappearance of the adults in the city, and the unnatural abilities in some of the teenagers in Wistakia. The anomalies are a result of their genetic experiments.
