A servent of higher rank had told her to find Princess Serena and ready for her tonights dinner. This was one of Marias least favorite kind of task. It seemed as though nobody realized that the palace and its grounds were huge and the Princess could be anywhere. Luckily though another servant had recently seen her in the garden, so Maria was able to find her quickly.
"Your Majesty." She said to Serena with a small curtsy, waiting to be addressed before saying anything else

Serena seemed to come out of her thoughts once somebody spoke to her. She looked up to see Maria and for a moment everything she thought about disappeared from her mind. "Hello, Maria." she replied absently. The girl had spent the last hour thinking about Aiden, but had managed it to hide her tears.

Saddness washed over her when she realized what the princess must be going through, having just lost her older brother. She must be devastated though she didn't show it. When Maria thought about it, Serena had never been to emotional in public. The princess was always reserved and perfectly held together. However, Maria had on occasion heard crying in the night while passing Serenas chamber. The thought made her feel even worse.
"I was sent to help you prepare for tonights dinner." She said as gently as possible.

Serena nodded quietly in respond. "Alright. I will come with you." she said softly before standing up.. The princess fixed her blue dress absently. Dinner... She wasn't even hungry and she already knew it would be a torture due to the deal she had made with KC. The deal was tearing her up, honestly. Serena had felt like she had KC to help her get through this. But she sure did understand his side of the story. And since Serena was somebody who placed herself last, she had accepted the deal without she even wanted to. But if she denie, KC would probably think she was selfish, but the princess definetely was not.

Marias deep blue eyes focused ahead as they walked to the room the princess was staying in. She would glance at Serena only to feel worse each time. After all, it only natural for one to hope for the well being of the royal family in Marias eyes. Her mind raced for something that might cheer the princess up. Some gossip that she had heard came to mind."I heard there were some arrangmets made to the treaty. Is this true?" Maria asked. It was common knowledge to maids that Serena and Prince KC had been sweet hearts

"Yes. There were." Serena simply replied as she followed Maria quietly. "I don't want to talk about it." The whole thing with KC was bothering her pretty much. The contact between the two of them... She didn't quite know. She was sure she loved KC, she always did. But everything just became too much for the girl. She couldn't wait to get into her own room back at Elyadon tonight so she could just cry.

Her gaze fell to the ground and she bit her lip, feeling awful for just upsetting the princess more. She decided that it was best not to speak for now. After a few more moments of painful silence they reached Serenas chambers. Maria held to door open for the princess to enter.

Serena bit her lip as she quietly entered the room, thanking Maria for holding the door. The girl sighed softly as she looked out of the window, just being able to see KC and Tristan talk. The girl jus watched them for a moment, wondering were they were talking about. The princess had already forgotten why she came here, but let out a soft sigh as she turned her gaze away from the window. She just wanted to curl up and cry.

Maria closed the door and watched Serena sadly. "Would you like me to have a bath drawn for you your majesty? It may help relax you." Maria offered timidly. She started going throught the princess things to get her clothes for the night ready as she spoke.
