Jesica Gabriella Demonessia // Jess // 25 // Female // Fire-Demon // Maid // Tags- CoCo~

As she watched CoCo move, she thought for a moment. Her youngest sisters smile appearing in her mind.

If a shyer version of Isabella existed-

Jesica then shook her head, clearing her throat softly. She then tilted her head as CoCo looked up slightly, at first, she had the instinct to check her skirt. Had she gotten some strawberry milk on it or something..? She looked down for a moment then looked back up as she heard the boy mutter.

Jesica listened as she was silent for a moment, blinking silently. She then shook her head as she smiled softly. "No need to thank me.. " Jesica then stayed silent for a moment before her breath hitched, she wanted to ask how old the boy was, but that was rude- maybe she could ask him something else-

Jesica just ended up clearing her throat and asking- "Excuse me CoCo, or- whoever would like to answer- you're choice" she shook her head. "But um.. Have you met anybody else here..?"

Francesca Mary Demonessia // Fran // 20 // Female // Siren-Demon // Homeless // Tags- Mary~

Francesca smiled, giggling softly. "Yeah, good thing huh? Maybe I could get them to come down here and you can meet them, You're about the same age as them.. Well- just from looks I assume that you're under 15.." She muttered, flicking the side of her own head out of annoyance. Well that was a stupid thing to say..

Francesca then stifled a laugh as Mary asked where she and her sisters were from. She hummed softly as she considered telling him, yet.. He seemed young, she didn't know if it was right. Instead, she tilted her head. "Do you know where demons come from?" She asked instead.

Francesca giggled, "I wasn't allowed to follow her back to the manor, she just scolded me because I scared her haha" Francesca laughed without a thought, she hadn't laughed in a while.. It was a good feeling to freely laugh again. As Mary talked, she listened, tilting her head slightly. When he heard about his fathers desk being messy, she giggled along with him, finding the childs giggle contagious. "Hehe, well, you're doing him a favour then aren't you kiddo?" She teased lightly.

Francesca then tilted her head at his question as she hummed while she thought. She looked up to a tree as she spoke, "eh.. It does get a bit boring.. But with my power I can actually play pranks on a bunch of normal people like humans and stuff, people are actually pretty easy to scare" she giggled. She then sighed, "it does get a bit lonely though.."

xxxx𝓡ose couldn't help but chuckle at the wolf's reaction. A predatory animal throwing itself around because a prey animal stepped closer? That definitely wasn't adding up. Rose let the wolf regain her composure before replying, "Well, Everest, it's nice to meet you, as well. Are you okay? That looked pretty awkward there.. Knight's just curious, he doesn't mean you any harm." Not right now, at least. She thought back to earlier in this conversation. "Oh, and if you don't mind me asking, what brings you here? Food? Curiosity?" Everest claimed to know her way around, so why come to her home? Her skepticism could get her mauled right now, but Knight was by her side, at least.
xxxxWait. Maybe...
xxxxRose put her hand in her jacket pocket. Nope. I guess I left it inside.. Of course it would be my luck to leave my pocket knife when I could actually need it. The woman left her hand in her pocket, hoping it wasn't conspicuous that she was looking for something.

xxxx𝓣he gelding's eyes widened in surprise. His head involuntarily shot up at the sudden growl. That wasn't anticipated. Knight lowered his head back to Everest's level, staring with a gentle curiosity. He stepped forward, a bit more mindful this time, wanting to let Everest have a chance to meet him. He kept his ears forward, attempting to look less intimidating. The dogs back home were never that jumpy.. Who scared this poor puppy? He certainly wasn't trying to. Unless she went for his Rose. Then all kindness went out the window. But she hadn't done that yet.

Yes, yes the cat butler was going to actually listen to Fal, why wouldn't he, he was afraid of the vampire butler. He did not know the exact reason that he was afraid of him but subconsciously, anytime he was glared at or looked at a certian way, his flight or fight reaction would kick in and it was all he could do to not run away like a scaredy cat. Not to mention the boy was too tired to argue.
So there he was, finally finding the broom closet, and collected a mop and bucket.

Upon fetching water, the boy carried it back to the stairs and started to collect the water he had dripped upon the floor and mop away and water stains that they may have left. It would not take very long, before he would clean out the mop and empty the bucket. The whole time his mind growing more foggy and his eyes drooping. He returned to the closet to put the mop and bucket away, another yawn coming out as he knelt to put the bucket back onto the shelf, he slumped forward his head landing n the shelf as the tired boys eyes fluttered closed.

After the rewarding sip of the cold, delectable drink, the boy removed Mr. Shellos and pulled the cup closer to him after gently setting the puppet up on the counter. Usually he would take the milk into a quieter, smaller place, but he did not want to be rude, after all Mister Shellos had told him being rude was bad, and he had said that the woman coud stay with him already. Although he was not much of a conversationalist, so here he was sipping up the milk in the silence as he shifted from foot to foot. Although it looked like he was completely focused on his milk, he could still see the woman out of the corner of his eye, and yes maybe he finally looked up to see her face.
When the nice maid talked to him, this is where the boy stopped drinking and slowly lifted up FiFi."Well we have Met Mr. Larkin, Mr. LeMarc, A really funny bat, and well CoCo doesn't really do good talking to people so thats about it." the chipper fox said and then turned to CoCo and it seemed if they are whispering, the fox turning back with a giggle,"CoCo said he thinks you are nice, and are pretty like the magicians Assistants from the magic shop!" CoCo sputtered and covered FiFi blushing as he looked down at the counter and tried to get Mister Shellos back on.

the wolf looked up at the horse again, taking a step back as the horse took another step closer. she glared at the creature and growled again, her fur bristling as she took a few steps back. if this horse took a step closer to her, she will bite. she will completely disregard the hooves and bite. however, her tune did change a little by the mention of food. she completely stopped growling, her ears perking up and her head immediately cocking to the side. she couldn't help it- or well control it, but her tail started to swing to and fro, a small, wolfish smile on her face.

"oh sure I'm fine- sometimes I cannot control this wolfish nature of mine...and again- i had have bad experiences with those creatures. I'd rather not take any chances." she looked down and fixed her head, her tail still wagging. she stopped and thought for a moment. "i did come into town for food- yes. but to your place? i just happened to cross upon your...abode?...do you actually live here?" okay, that seemed to be a little rude- it wasn't like her place was any better. she had taken her anger out on a lot of things- so let's just say that the couches were no longer. where did the stuffing go? who knows. did she eat it? no- the last time she did it didn't go too well. she would've been dead- yes, but hey, she's alive and well. just hungry.

for food and blood.

fal sighed in relief as the kid was going to do what he was told- which was a good thing, right? well, he wasn't going to chase him down to make sure that he does his job. no- he has other things to do. maybe he should go find lemarc and ask what nicho was scheduled to do today...actually, no, scratch that. he'd rather not talk to him at the moment- not with this migraine. he moved his head up to his forehead and walked all the way back to his room. was he going to rest?

he wished.

instead, he entered his room, looking around for a brief moment. it took him a moment to remember that he had allowed mary to go out in town- if he wished. and apparently he did leave. that would explain on why nightshade was missing from his post. (an empty (but clean) tea cup that fal didn't want to touch- as the queen had claimed it as his own. for a resting place for his second-in-command).

facilier looked around once again, drawing a blank. what was he doing in here again? he walked further into his room and stood near his desk, flipping through the papers that crowded his desk. he paused. no- nothing that he wanted wasn't in the stack of papers. he looked around and decided to open the first drawer of three, pawing through the organized mess until he found what he was looking for: painkillers. now why did he have them there? well because he doubted that the manor had any around. besides, he didn't want anyone to question him. he replaced the bottle back into the mess and searched the drawers for anything to wash them down. ah- nope. where did he put them?

he walked over towards his nightstand and decided to dig through there. hopefully mary didn't get ahold- aha! there they are. he grabbed a couple of blood tablets before shutting the drawer and walking out of his room. now time to get some water. but the kitchen was too far away- and there was no way he was using mop water...I mean- cat fur, really? so facilier decided to walk to the kitchen, grab a cup, fill it with water, ignore the fools in the kitchen (he didn't even question why there was a giant in the kitchen in the first place) before heading on out of the kitchen and back towards his room. he was uncomfortable using the blood tablets around others. why? he couldn't explain well enough on why he felt that way.

he shook his head and plopped the tablets into the water, watching them dissolve. how disappointing. he knew who else would be disappointed in him for using these things- but what will they do? come back from the dead and chastise him about it?...yeah, I thought so. Facilier dipped back into his room as he took the painkillers and washed them down with whatever this poor excuse of substituted blood was...it was almost like a diet. fake blood is better than human or other creature blood...but oh well, its better than nothing. besides, does it look like he has the time to go out and hunt? no.

fal would stay in his room until the migraine had subsided some before going out of his way to wash the cup and bring it back to the kitchen- along with a few dishes that he found. he washed them, before walking back out and onto the upstairs to start cleaning windows again.

he looked up at her when she continued to talk and he stayed silent like the good little child he was. no interrupting here. but although he was quite distracted when nightshade fell from his bookbag. mary quickly reached out to get him before putting the bunny plushie back into his bag. he looked up at fran and smiled a little.

"i'm eleven, actually," he said with a small giggle. "we'd probably get along despite them being older...hopefully." mary frowned and looked over his shoulder towards the direction of the town. there were a few kids in the town that he didn't get along with- and they were a bit older than him- just around the age of fran's sisters. but hopefully they weren't too mean like them.

his attention turned back to fran when she asked him about where demons came from. he turned his head and shrugged a little. "papa has been teaching me a lot about mythicals, demons, angels and whatnot whenever he has the time to," mary said as he placed his bag back down on the ground, kicking his legs a little. "we're just getting to demons- but I don't like to say the word- it's bad. that's what papa says. but he also says 'as long as it's not directed towards someone'. i still refuse to say it though." he covered his ears but then lowered them down. he would sign it, but decided against it. "so instead we say underworld."

it was a rule in maryland that swearing was a big no- signed or not. where did he learn these fabled swears? oh from his parents- don't worry though, fal doesn't need to know.

he blinked and shrugged a little, "i guess, but every time I go to it- it's cleaned up, or more of a mess!" he then laughed. but oh well- it isn't my desk so I shouldn't be complaining."

mary reached over and picked up his bookbag, tilting his head in thought about fran's pranks. "oh, well i'm human? you did scare me- but that was just for a little bit. you are a very nice person," he beamed as he slowly slid off of the log and onto the ground. he pulled his bookbag close to him and looked in, digging through for the pack of playing cards before looking back up at fran, "but i can stay! we can play with the cards that i've brought!" he said as he shook the small carboard box that mary had painted over. what did he paint on the box? a night sky with clouds...and glitter. it wasn't the best- but hey, he wasn't no artist.

she kept her gaze on lemarc, waiting for a reaction or a reply of some sort. but when she got none, she just simply looked down at the floor, her ears pinned back, a little disappointed- even though he didn't say anything, the disapproval was pretty clear. (or disappointment. one of those two. she wasn't the best at reading emotions- okay?). however, she perked up just a bit when lark said that they had the time to solve a riddle. what a good boy- maybe she could treat him with one of his stolen borrowed pens after this. stellaluna looked up at lemarc and then back at lark when given the a-ok to share a riddle.

right.

maybe she should've taken the time to think up a riddle rather than just staring at the reoccurring guest. but, she didn't have to think for too long as she shifted around, making sure that she could open the little watch's door with ease after they had solved her riddle. she had figured how the watch worked- almost. you would assume that fifty-seven riddles in, she would know how it would work? maybe you had forgotten about her fantastic memory.

stellaluna looked up at the two. what was now this feeling? it was almost like stage fright. why was this so? she never had felt like this when she shared riddles with larkin. her ears pinned back again as she decided to distract herself by opening the door of the watch, staring at the face.

xxxxxxxx

500 riddles
57 solved
───────────
443 left

the same question always remained the same: what would happen if it reached the end? she looked up at lemarc and then over at lark. maybe one of the two would know. if not, then she'll find out from someone. someday. somehow. she shook her head and snapped the door shut. time was ticking. she was wasting time and she painfully knew it. even though she was incapable of knowing time management, she knew that time given to her by someone like her pet was very important- and she was wasting it. stellaluna gave an apologetic look at lark. lemarc would also get one- but he wasn't the one who gave her the time to share a riddle, now was he? no.

so instead of wasting even more time, she got on with it. she cleared her tiny throat and looked up at the two:

xxxxxxxx

"It cannot be seen, cannot be felt,
Cannot be heard, cannot be smelt.
It lies behind stars and under hills,
And empty holes it fills.
It comes first and follows after,
Ends life, kills laughter.
"

after she spoke, she instantly flipped open the door and looked up at the two. and then back down at the face. she loved to watch as the counter went down when the riddle was solved correctly. did she herself know the answer? no she did not. not right off the bat at least. she would know if it was solved correctly- but if solved incorrectly, nothing would move and she would take even more time away from the two to figure out the answer. or, she could take up this time now, waiting for the two to figure it out. it was an odd riddle, even for herself, but she'll get the answer eventually.

disclaimer; the riddle is from Tolkien's The Hobbit; the answer: darkness

xxxxnoticing the large man's face go pink magnolia had to hold back a laugh at the sight. for such a large and burly man she hadn't expected him to blush easily, though, that type of thinking probably isn't the best. not everyone fits into cookie cutter standards. there is no need to apologize. you aren't the first to of missed the entrance and broken through the surrounding wall of plants. after all, no damage was done. even if there was it would be an easy fix for me. i'm just glad you didn't hurt yourself when you tumbled in, magnolia said assured to the man, giving another dismissing wave of her hand. after she spoke again maggie could see the other growing a slightly confused look. perhaps english wasn't his first language? whether it was or wasn't he didn't inquire about anything she said so she opted to not press on his confusion. it would be rude to point out the confusion if he himself didn't ask a question. suddenly a compliment was thrown her way, maggies cheeks and ears going red. placing one hand on her cheek and and splaying the other one out before her maggie said, oh you're such a doll, thank you. i quite like your name as well, i've never heard it before. it's really a pleasure to meet you as well, mishka. there was a smile on her face as she spoke. clearly she was really enjoying talking to someone other than an animal. honestly the animals in the area could be so rude and gossipy that it could get tiring. talking to another person was really something else, something better. you know, i have been wondering where you're from. i have a few guesses but i figured i'd ask you outright and get the answer, the nymph asked, lowering her hands and cupping them together. curiously she stared up at him, awaiting his answer. hearing from mishka that he would do his best to not upset her she nodded in acknowledgment. i'm glad to hear, thank you. really, i just don't want anybody to get hurt. there have been too many injuries. too many.

xxxxanyway, maggie was stuck on the deep laugh that mishka produced as well as his smile. once more maggie found herself chipping away her original thoughts about mishka being a big brute and nothing more. in actuality he seemed very kind and friendly. when he spoke he seemed genuine with his words. she believed that he wouldn't do anything to upset her or break the rules of her grove. raising her eyebrows as mishka pronounced the word nymph and pointed to his head magnolia brought her own hand to her head, gently touching the antlers there. yes, actually! my antlers relate to my being a nymph! a nymph is a person in greek mythology who is a creature of nature. there are nymphs who inhabit plants, others inhabit bodies of water, and some take a whole location. i fall into the latter where i inhabit this entire grove. however, my life force is connected to that magnolia tree over there. turning around magnolia pointed to the delicate tree with pink-white flowers growing in its branches. hence my name is magnolia, she added on with a smile, facing mishka once more. you aren't completely human yourself, are you? at least i assume due to your height. correct me if i'm wrong, she uttered with curiosity.

xxxxi would have gotten off your head in no time! you didn't have to pick me up! the cat protested as key pointed out that salem had been the one to cause all of the commotion, inevitably making it so he was picked up. who gave you the right to manhandle me!? no one, i say, no one! he continued to protest, moving onto complaining at the point. you should always as someone if they mind being picked up! by someone salem meant them. read that sentence as you should always ask me if i mind being picked up! at this point the cats fur was standing on end once more causing salem to look like a black and white cotton ball. huffing in annoyance salem side glared key as the boy mocks him. you really do not understand the importance of my predicament, do you? the cat hissed in annoyance at key. clearly salem was having a major problem of attention deficiency and needed a dose of attention now. how could key not see that? well it seems you were the wrong choice to wake up, salem sighs as key continues to be sarcastic with him. really, salem had no other choice since it was key whose bedroom door was open a side, allowing for the cat to enter. all other bedroom doors had been closed, and thus impossible for salem to open due to the lack of height to reach the doorknob, and more importantly, the lack of opposable thumbs. key was his once and only choice to wake up given salem's options. who said anything about me asking you to feed me! where did you get that idea from! maybe because you heavily implied it, but okay. however, if you're offering, as you're such a great friend and all, i would not mind for you to get me breakfast. salem completely ignored the comment regarding the possibility of key not wanting to help him get breakfast. selective hearing i suppose.

Jesica Gabriella Demonessia // Jess // 25 // Female // Fire-Demon // Maid // Tags- CoCo~

Jesica watched as CoCo sip his strawberry milk, she started to feel a bit thristy herself.. She then started making herself some tea.

mmm.. Chamomile tea.. So relaxing.. Since she doesn't really like coffee much, Jesica usually vouches for tea instead.

Jesica sighed as she took a sip of her tea, looking to CoCo as he held up FiFi, Jesica smiled, happy to see the fox-puppets sudden appearance. She smiled in relief as she heard that they had met others, at least he wasn't alone when she wasn't there. "Ah thats good.. At least you have other people to look out for you just in case I'm not here.."

Jesica took another sip of her tea as FiFi had said that CoCo thought she was pretty. Jesica swallowed her tea as she giggled, smiling sweetly. "Aww.. Well that's sweet.. Thank you CoCo, You've been lovely to talk to, I'm glad I was able to meet you" Jesica shot a compliment back, it's what she always did even if she didn't know it herself.

Francesca Mary Demonessia // Fran // 20 // Female // Siren-Demon // Homeless // Tags- Mary~

Francesca watched as the small bunny plush fell out of Mary's bag, having had plushies herself, she knew that plushies were like humans to some people, so she hastily asked, "Oh no.. Is the little bunny alright?" She tilted her head slightly.

Francesca shook her head, "nah nah, you'll be fine with them I'm sure.. They're 15.. I think.. Although my youngest sister, Isabella, will probably be the same age as you.. Well- mentally at least" Francesca took a mental note that Isabella's mind was still stuck in her younger years.

Francesca's eyes glowed a light blue when she heard that Mary had been learning, "huh? Really? I'm surprised.. Normally people wouldn't wanna learn about us.. But I'm sorta flattered.. If you wanna know anything, you can ask one of the ruler herself!" Francesca put a hand to her chest as she smiled. She did feel flattered that Mary was learning about her kind, if he had any questions, Fran could certainly answer. She then giggled, "haha, I get that whole swearing thing.. I just call it the demon world, but I'll probably call each kingdom it's name.. I used to be the ruler of the Siren Kingdom" She giggled. Goodness she missed being the ruler.. Although, not much she could do.

Francesca giggled as Mary went on about his father, Francesca wondered if they were basically making fun of Mary's father.. eh- it was alright, she didn't know him after all.

Francesca nodded, "yeah, I figured you'd be human, sorry I scared you though kiddo.." Francesca mumbled the apology, now feeling bad after she remembered. Francesca then went blank at the compliment. Her? A nice person? Heh.. Funny..

Francesca shook her head, "I'm no nice person kid.. But I'm glad that you think that.." Francesca said in a soft voice, she had been accused of countless things.. Some she had even done. She certainly was no "good person". Well. She was a demon afterall. Francesca then shrugged, "hehe... Well- I am a demon kiddo. Maybe I could be your guardian demon? Hehe.. I'll take care of ya and all that! Even play games with ya if you want" she smiled softly.

Francesca then blinked as he pulled out some cards, taking note of the colored box, she found it cute honestly. Such a kid thing to do.
"Hehe.. I'm glad you're staying for a bit.. Sure, I'll play with ya, what do ya wanna play?" She tilted her head

    Tinuviel|Age; Unknown|Female|Race; Dragon|Ace-Demiromantic|Location; Leck's Forest |tags; Mishka, Magnolia
    ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The large dragon ate her fill of the elk she had swiftly killed from her aerial surprise attack. Though, there was still a lot left, surprising the blind dragon, as she had ate most of what the elk had to offer. She cleaned her mouth off from what remained from her eating her meal. Considering that she could save the rest of the elk for later, she lightly hovered above the ground and put the rest of the meal into her back claws to transport it to her hidden den that was deep into the forest.

She took to the skies quickly, evidently shaking the branches that were on the trees nearby when she had taken down her kill. Though she wasn’t by any means a dragon that had elemental magic, she could sense that the air was getting colder and there was frost gathering on the branches as well as the grass on the forest floor. She would have to stick up on her food for the coming winter season, but she still had time. She just didn’t want to have a food shortage like last year. She had to come out of her den, which was a bad thing as humans could’ve spotted her in the sky as seeing black, purple, and grey scaled dragon in sky isn’t a normal thing.

Shaking her head to clear her thoughts, she made it to her den and crawled into it and placed the elk carcass near the rest of her recently killed hunts. She had a good starting fresh-kill pile growing. Though it can’t hurt to hunt some more. She would start hunting more tomorrow. Today, she would start scouting for possible high prey areas.

Once again, she took to the skies and she had ended up far away from her den in the cave. She doesn’t have any protection out here she could quickly dive towards. She would have to rely on her wits. After all, a downed dragon is a dead dragon. Her travels took her towards a glade that had all sorts of wildlife scattered around. But, with such a bountiful place to come across, there has to be a supernatural entity protecting it. She would have to be careful.

Though, she wasn’t as careful as she thought she would be. As a dragon with her color stands out amongst the vibrant colors. And, with a shadow casted that big, she was bound to catch some sort of attention. And attention she did. As two pairs of eyes had seen her fly above them...

the wolf looked up at the horse again, taking a step back as the horse took another step closer. she glared at the creature and growled again, her fur bristling as she took a few steps back. if this horse took a step closer to her, she will bite. she will completely disregard the hooves and bite. however, her tune did change a little by the mention of food. she completely stopped growling, her ears perking up and her head immediately cocking to the side. she couldn't help it- or well control it, but her tail started to swing to and fro, a small, wolfish smile on her face.

He jumped a little when she had asked if nightshade was alright. He peeked in the bag and then looked back at fran. “Yes, nightshade he is alright,” he said with a smile. Had he lied? No, why would he? If he did then he would be upset because his second-in-command wouldn’t talk to him for the rest of the day if he was hurt in any way.

However, when fran started to talk about her sister’s mental age, he tilted his head to the side. “Oh?” He thought for a moment and shook his head. “I don’t understand. Can you explain it to me?” He asked as he looked down at his box of playing cards, frowning as he picked at the paint. He would need to repaint it. Maybe he could convince his papa to paint something instead of him. He wondered what his papa’s artistic abilities were like. (Mediocre at best).

Mary looked up when Fran said something about being a ruler. He blinked. “So like a Queen?!” He got all excited to finally be able to meet another queen. But he then remembered nightshade’s warning about trusting another about his kingdom- so he kept silent on his end... for now at least. “But no, papa wanted me to learn about mythicals and all so I wasn’t afraid of them like most are in town,” he shrugged a little. “He calls them cowards.” For multiple reasons too. With swearing as well, but that was when Mary wasn’t around. Mary glanced up when Fran mentioned the swearing thing. “Demon world can work too! Although The Siren Kingdom seems to be a bit fancier... what are the other kingdoms?”

He blinked when she apologized. “Oh no you don’t have to apologize. I was surprised.. as not seeing a demon before,” he looked down and thought for a bit, looking down at the ground. “Besides the one depicted in the book. But papa has also told me that not all of them look like that. Most of them have human forms... like you.” And like his papa but he wasn’t a demon.

When she had said that she wasn’t a nice person, all he could do was laugh a little. He couldn’t help it. “No you are a very nice person!” He then blinked and smiled. “Demon. But person because you don’t look like a demon right now.” But when she had offered to be his guardian demon, he was a bit wary, and it showed. But he soon relaxed a little. Maybe it would be a good thing? Besides, she meant good. “Mmmaybe but you’ll have to ask my papa about that.” He shrugged a little. “I’m sure he wouldn’t mind but it’s better if you ask.” Maybe this can be a chance for her to see the manor again!...although probably get yelled at by her sister again if she ever found out.

That is a curious thing to think about.

Mary looked up at the lady again and smiled when she had agreed to play. He opened the cardboard box and allows all the cards to fall down. All forty-eight cards... all the kings were missing. Who knew what happened to them? Nightshade will know but he doesn’t answer to anyone else... at least it wasn’t an entire suit. “I...know a couple of games. But since you are a guest in my game- I’ll let you pick... so what do you want to play?”

she kept her gaze on lemarc, waiting for a reaction or a reply of some sort. but when she got none, she just simply looked down at the floor, her ears pinned back, a little disappointed- even though he didn't say anything, the disapproval was pretty clear. (or disappointment. one of those two. she wasn't the best at reading emotions- okay?). however, she perked up just a bit when lark said that they had the time to solve a riddle. what a good boy- maybe she could treat him with one of his stolen borrowed pens after this. stellaluna looked up at lemarc and then back at lark when given the a-ok to share a riddle.

right.

maybe she should've taken the time to think up a riddle rather than just staring at the reoccurring guest. but, she didn't have to think for too long as she shifted around, making sure that she could open the little watch's door with ease after they had solved her riddle. she had figured how the watch worked- almost. you would assume that fifty-seven riddles in, she would know how it would work? maybe you had forgotten about her fantastic memory.

stellaluna looked up at the two. what was now this feeling? it was almost like stage fright. why was this so? she never had felt like this when she shared riddles with larkin. her ears pinned back again as she decided to distract herself by opening the door of the watch, staring at the face.

the same question always remained the same: what would happen if it reached the end? she looked up at lemarc and then over at lark. maybe one of the two would know. if not, then she'll find out from someone. someday. somehow. she shook her head and snapped the door shut. time was ticking. she was wasting time and she painfully knew it. even though she was incapable of knowing time management, she knew that time given to her by someone like her pet was very important- and she was wasting it. stellaluna gave an apologetic look at lark. lemarc would also get one- but he wasn't the one who gave her the time to share a riddle, now was he? no.

so instead of wasting even more time, she got on with it. she cleared her tiny throat and looked up at the two:

He couldnt help but smile. The compliment had gotten to her and he had scored a few points in that regard. He chuckled a little and watched how the woman lit up like a tomato and received the compliment so well. Perhaps he would ‘accidentally’ fall into the same grove tomorrow. Maybe that wouldnt be so bad. If it took him back here he’d do it in a heartbeat.
He blinked and tilted his head. Now she was asking about where he was from? He knew the name in Russian but he sure didnt know it in English.
“Big Mountains.. far east. Lots of snow and very isolated.” He explained to her while resting his arms over his chest. “I live by myself for many years. Family moved on. I stay behind. Then I move here, find new job. I work with horses.”
A short and sweet little blurb of his life. He didnt want it to get too convoluted for her. Even though he had just met her he had a feeling she would have loved to hear the rest but.. in the back of his mind he told himself not to go on. Not to bore anybody.
The lovely woman in front of him then went on to explain herself. He sat there with wide eyes and nodded, understanding half of it as usual. But he understood the tree.. and he understood the fact that she inhabited the grove. Since it was planted in the middle of nowhere. It made sense that it was all hers.
The conversation went south, toward the big man. He nodded and shrugged, looking down at his feet.
“Is hard to speak. Ah. I am being.. half man.. half bear.” He offered, looking over at her hoping she understood
“I can uh.. become bear. Large bear. It happens.”
He chuckled a bit before sighing and shaking his head as if shaking it off.
“Is very much. Do not worry.”
It looked like he was about to go on but it suddenly got very dark. He blinked a moment and looked up and around at the sky. It was still very blue and very sunny. No clouds. He looked back down toward Magnolia for he didnt seem to catch what was there
“What is?” He asked, looking around the little garden. Nothing seemed to be disturbed.. he rubbed his eyes and wondered if it was just him.
