When she had finished she looked back up at him, it was odd the way he was looking at her, but she shook it off. Pheren shrugged, "I guess it's alright. It's... better than anything I've ever experienced." Pheren hesitated, tucking her feet in under the table, "It's nice to get away.." she spoke quietly, "What about you? What brought you here?"

He smiled when she looked at him and made sure to keep eye contact
It was nice to hear how she was having a good time here
"I was brought here because zere was no ozzer place.." he answered and shrugged a bit

And traced a little part of the table with a finger before looking down at it

He sighed once they had helped him up, and let his head hang a little
"They're breaching th' beach, sir!" he mumbled as his eyes rolled a little
Delusions filled his head while he cringed a bit and stuck close to whomever had been carrying him
"Charlie in th' trees.. Charlie in th' trees!"
And let his eyes close a little
He didn't want to loose himself to unconsciousness.. but he slowly faded a little
"I can walk m-myself, sir.." he said gently and groaned
"I can.. Jus' lemme go..."

Matilda scrunched her face as the smell began to dissipate, she noticed Ansley staring at a man, he had a cigarette in his hand. "There's the smoke machine." She whispered under her breath. She looked at the menu, she hadn't ordered from here before, she wasn't much a fan of coffee, she was more into tea. "Do they sell English Breakfast?" She didn't want to seem rude but if they sold tea she'd take it in a heartbeat. Just before she was about to ask the server, she heard Ansley purring. Matilda became a little red and a bit flustered before composing herself. "Let's get some."

She listened intently. She felt sympathetic for him, "I'm so sorry..." was all she could manage to say before he fired another question. "Oh. Uh..." she stuttered, hair standing on end, "Well I.." she didn't know how to word it, but she had always hidden her white feathers with anything she could. "Well I guess I like feeling human... er... I mean, I just don't really feel comfortable with showing off my-" she caught herself, worrying about what was going through his head. What if he was judging her? She could never tell, given the expression on his face. What if? What if? She kept repeating in her mind. "I'm a dove." She finally said, giving him a nervous smile as she did.

"Oh! Yeah I can fly... I don't fly often though." She sighed, shifting from where she sat. Her gaze slowly moved from the soft stare of Aristide, to the worn table. "A dove scared of heights..." she mumbled as soft as a whisper, followed by a light chuckle.

He nodded while watching her eyes, and seeing how she had noticed his arms..
He sort of tried to hide them, curling his arms a little more while continuing the conversation
And smiled a little, seeing that the trick had worked.. now that they were talking about her again
"I've always wanted to fly.." he nodded gently, "Et 'as been a wonder.. But.. some zings I do are sort of like flying."
He was to tell her about swimming.. gliding through the waters as if he were flying
But he knew not to speak of himself again.. not that he was pent up and personal.. more of.. he though of his hybrid form as ugly
And chuckled a little while smiling
"I will not share what 'ybrid I am.. only because I am self conscious." he explained
