Ilia tilted her head. "In this specific area? Not always. The world is big and there are many places to hunt. But I have hunted here before, I believe."

((I would assume in South, since Devon and Zephyrus seem less likely to wander into another Kingdom. Ilia doesn't care much for borders.))

"That's cool." He wasn't sure what else to say. Zephyrus took the opporunity to question her. Are you from the West or North kingdom? He asked bluntly. Devon opened his mouth and elbowed the horse. "Heh, sorry about that, he's not very friendly." But inside Devon was a little curious himself.

"Kingdom? What do you mean?"

Ilia looked at the horse. "I was born in the West Kingdom. But now my allegiance is to none but myself and Dire."

Devon tensed; he was sort of taken aback by her response. Zephyrus pawed the ground, So you are West Kingdom scum. Devon put a hand on Zephyrus's side. "What do you mean your allegiance is only to yourself? You're either West or not."

Ilia looked at him. "Then in a way, I am not. One's origins should not dictate what sort of life they lead. My family betrayed me. The Kingdom and its rulers have done nothing for me." She tilted her head. "I am bonded to a wolf. It should not surprise you so much that I wasn't born in the South."

I follow the tracks for a while, the time feels like forever. Snow trots at my side, sniffing the ground and air. He says up to me, "We're getting closer. I smell death, and I can sense a group of heartbeats. Let's be cautious, because we're nearing the Southern border. Our camp was pretty close to the border anyway, but this herd was from the South. No doubt about it. Their scent is unfamiliar, and they also smell of fear."
I reply, "Alright we should be getting close now. Deer don't run that far away from something, they usually stop after a while." As we continue walking, Snow starts to lose the scent. We're nearing too close to the Southern border. While they're still mostly free, there could be West patrols there.
Snow grumbles, "Maybe we shouldn't go that far. The South is almost completely taken. Let's just go find Alari and Rose."
I heave a sigh and stop walking, "Okay," I say, "Let's do that. Not much to do once we find whatever they were running from."

"I'm not surprised, just curious. You could be in serious danger if you were caught, especially here, regardless whether or not you are loyal to your kingdom." Zephyrus snorted. "So why are you here?"
