Camden was walking cautiously along the side walk, keeping his eyes open for any thing moving when all of a sudden a crazy lady came out of nowhere wielding a dagger. He turned to run but tripped on his own feet and silently cursed his clumsiness and took out his knife. "Stay away from me!" He yelled as he scooted back against a wall to a ransacked store. Before he noticed her slowing down, a panick attack was already beginning. His breathing hitched and looked at the lady in fear.

"Whoa, whoa. It's okay. I thought you were one of those things." Alison took note of the knife he was holding. "You're skilled with blades? How old are you? What's your name?" she bombarded him with an onslaught of questions. "Are you okay?" she finally asked, noticing his breathing patterns had altered greatly.

Camden let out a shaky breathe before beginning to calm himself down. He nodded along to her questions and have her an uncertain stare. "I'm fine it's just uh.. Uh nothing." He answered before gaining full control of his panick attack. "My names Camden, I'm 15.. " he said nervously, not sure about the stranger that was standing over him. "Who're you?" He asked sheepishly.

"The name's Alison. Alison Mayberry. You can call me Ali or Alice. I'm 22." She looked down at the kid, not convinced that it was 'nothing'. "Are you sure you're okay? I can sense when people are lying. It's like a wicked awesome superpower." there was something off about his behavior. Had she really scared him that badly?

"Yah...I'm fine, see?" He said, standing up and brushing off his dirty pants to prove he was okay. "You just surprised me that's all." He continued with a smile. He didn't need people knowing that he would spaz out and have an attack every time he got a bit too scared. what a wimp he scolded himself before his stomach growled loudly and he looked down at the ground blushing.

Alison heard the faint rumbling of the boy's stomach and laughed, sheathing her knife. "Are you hungry, Camden?" she asked softly, displaying her hands in a fashion to show him she meant no harm.

Camden looked up at Alison and gave a small smile.
"Just a little bit." He mumbled. Honestly he felt like he was starving. He hadn't eaten in a day and a half while going through a rather brutal growth spurt and hiking through the forest. At least Alison wasn't a giant stinky mutant that wanted his blood he though to himself as he put his knife back in his belt.

Alison sighed as she watched the boy. He reminded her so much of her little brother, who had died in a tragic traffic accident when they were younger. Just the thought of Jason made her heart ache, and made her want to reach out and grab the boy in a bear hug. But this was no time for touchy-feely-chick-flick moments. This was the apocalypse. She needed to find food for this boy, and she knew exactly where they might find some. "C'mon, kid. There's a restaurant a couple blocks down, and I'll bet they have one hell of a pantry."

Camden noticed Alison sigh and caught what could only be sadness quickly flicker across her face before it was replaced with a smile. That's weird he thought before she told him about a diner and he smiled happily. "Awesome. I haven't been to a diner in forever!" He exclaimed. The last time he had stumbled upon a small restaurant was right before his dad died. Happily he followed at her side, making sure to leave about a few feet in between them. His dad never really liked him to be close so it was kind of a reflex to leave some distance.

Alison noted the boy kept his distance and chalked it up to still being wary of her. They walked for awhile before they finally came to the building. In its prime, it had been the most amazing place to get pancakes and bacon with a perfect sunny side up egg. Now it looked as if the plague had gotten into the very foundation itself, rotting the once beautiful decorations to mold and dust. "They should have a storage room. In the back." Alison pulled a knife from the top of her boot and wielded it in front of her, just in case any diseased popped out and tried to make a meal out of the two of them
