Clara Grainger
She smiled blissfully as the lunch bell rang. "...the homework is due on Wednesday," finished the teacher. Clara gathered all of her books and headed down the stairs to her locker. She hadn't packed a lunch today, so she would just go to the café nearby. Clara didn't usually eat more than a sandwich and a coffee, anyway. Clara threw on a light sweater, grabbed her wallet and walked outside. The air was damp and the clouds were still drizzling, but Clara didn't mind. She didn't get as wet as other people, and she dried faster too.
Clara walked down the street to the café, keeping her head low and hoping not to be bullied by packs of older students that often terrorized her. Finally she arrived at the sanctuary of the café, and ordered her lunch, sitting at a table. Alone, of course.

Jace Parker; 16; at school;
When it was time for lunch Jace packed all of his books in his bag and quickly fixed the straps over his shoulders. He searched around the room for the girl he had met earlier. Finny wasn't it? His smile grew wide when he spotted her and he slowly crept up noiselessly beside her desk. "Hey~! Me again." he greeted her, waving his hand to get her attention. "I'm going to go out for lunch" he paused and his eyes wandered a bit as he took a few seconds to think. "Would you like to come with me?"

She poked her sandwich, forcing down a rather unappetizing mix of turkey, hot mustard and some vegetable that made her stomach turn. Clara took a long sip of her coffee, peering over the cup's rim to people-watch. Outside the window, several teenagers scuttled by, huddling under umbrellas, raised coats, or uncared-for schoolbooks. Clara patted her own hair; it had already dried. She dug out a book (one much more interesting than the English class one) and opened to her bookmark. Clara let herself be drawn into the world summoned by the novel, tuning out the chaos of the world around her.

She smiled lightly, crossing her arms in front of her chest. "You're taking my umbrella, remember? I kind of have to accompany you. Regardless of that fact, yes, I'll come."

Jace celebrated inwardly and nodded "Oh yeah-! You're right." He shifted his bag on his back and moved out of the way of a few passing students. "There is a little cafe right down the street. I was going to eat there. Their food isn't drop-dead amazing but it suits my taste." He told her, as the last student walked by him. "But they do offer some really good coffee." he added.
