Jem let out the breath he hadn't been aware he was holding, relaxing a tad. " ok, thank you." He pulled fingers through his white blonde hair, glancing back to the councilman. " don't laugh! You startled me!" He spoke in an embarrased tone, his voice going up a tad from stress and embarassment. He pouted a teeny bit, though it was clear the boy wasnt that offended.

don't even remember where the kitchen is."

Markus smirked but shrugged, "Not sure, you just started walking and I followed, so technically you unintenionally wanted to lead." He said walking past the male, poking his shoulder when he said 'you wanted to lead' before walking in front of Antony.

Aristotle continued to laugh, finding Jem's antics adorable, in a puppy-ish sort of way. Everyone loved puppies, right? Sweeping up the books that were on the shelf, the councilman smiled at the young boy, before replacing the novels on the shelves. Lazily looping an arm around Jem's shoulders, he steered the two of them towards the doors of the library. "We should get going before Ophelia comes in," said the man. "She's not as forgiving as I am."

him, hands stuffed into his pockets as he

xxxxxAnders shut the door to his room, watching the sleek orange cat slip in right before him before curling up onto his bed and rolling over onto his stomach in a spot of sun that hit Anders bed. The young wizard ran a hand over his face and with a small groan, flopped down onto his bed. He had just finished practicing his powers to better them and make them stronger, and he had done that for a good while, though his powers drained him from any motivation or energy he had afterwards. With a small sigh, he pushed himself onto his bed and sat up next to Oliver, poking his stomach gently with a couple of fingers before picking him up and setting him into his lap. "Sometimes I forget your a human." He said quietly, scratching the feline under his chin before petting behind his ears. Anders didn't even think that the other witches and wizards knew that Oliver was a familiar, most assumed that Oliver was just a regular ol' cat. Anders gave a tired smile to the cat, continuing to pet Oliver lazily.

" yeah. i just wanted to read a good book; we have none i havent read in the library downstairs." he replied easily, then rolling his eyes a tad at the laughing, frustrated though due to his small stature unable to seem hostile or really anything but innocent. " why aren't we allowed in here? it's like a prison for books." of course he thought this, jem loved just having new things to read and not being able to touch any of the books likely was on reason of the many he actually did.

the feline batted at anders' hand when he touched his stomach, though made no move to object when he was pulled to sit on his warlock's lap. the animal's eyes closed as he was petted, loving every second of it. sometimes i forget too, but i like it like this. people don't bother me like this. he opened his brown and blue eyes and moved his head along with the scratches, clearly enjoying the touches. he hadn't been in his human form in over a year, but he didn't mind it. he loved that he could be picked up and patted by whomever he wanted by meowing at them. everyone spoilt him in this form, and nobody judged cats, so he stayed that way. he ran his sandpaper tongue across part of anders' hand in a show of appreciation of all the affection. i only like you anyway, so ive pretty much became a house cat anyway. they're mean little things.

"Advanced material," said the warlock nonchalantly, not bothering to elaborate on it. The kid didn't need to know. "Once you graduate a few levels you're allowed in some sections." Of course, Jem also had to be specially approved by the council as well, though Aristotle figured this was a good conversation for a later date. Once the two of them were out of the danger zone, the library, the brunette removed his arm from where it had been casually looped around Jem's shoulders.

xxxxxAnders let out a small giggle when Oliver licked his hand. "You're not mean," He laughed, "Who wouldn't love a little fur ball like you?" He finished in a babying tone, using two fingers to push Oliver's cheeks up slightly as if he was smiling. He pulled his fingers away quickly so that Oliver wouldn't bite him to prove a point, and instead laid back onto his bed, towing the cat with him and pulling him into a hug as he heaved out another sigh. "Besides, if I thought you were mean, then I wouldn't have you for a familiar." He said, raising an eyebrow with a smug little smirk on his face as he sat up slightly to look at Oliver who he had pulled onto his chest. He continued to pet the cat, his muscles relaxing and his eyelids feeling quite heavy. "I know you like being a cat, but sometimes cats are a little harder to hug than humans you know." He said in a small, croaky voice. He would probably fall asleep at any moment, but he always tended to fight sleep away, wanting to talk to his familiar. Between training, studying, and other things, he didn't get much time to spend with his familiar one-on-one, but he usually carried Oliver around or Oliver rode on his shoulders pretty much everywhere.

the animal purred constantly through the whole process, though anders read his mind when he withdrew his fingers. oliver rubbed his face against the boy carefully, a motion cats did use to claim things in a way while also showing affection. 'i would never be mean to you, but everyone else can leave me alone.' he replied simply, though at the human comment oliver twitched his tail a little bit. anders had made a few comments like that lately, and he understood why, but the boy was worried about how he looked and all that jazz. of course he ended up wiggling out of anders' grasp to jump onto the floor; changing into his human form as his feet hit the hardwood floor. " i look so weird." he said with an embarrassed laugh, hiding his face in his hands. after a year these were the first words to come out of him, though anything else would be too secure of a thing to say for the short and delicate oliver.

jem looked over when the limb was moved and just sighed. " that sucks, and is a lot of work to do to be able to read.'' he wouldnt say anything else about it however, knowing it was rude to sulk too much. '' i'll just read more charles dickens or something; even though his work is always really long winded and hard to read. more words doesnt always mean better but i guess it did mean more money.'' he knew charles was payed by the word, and also knew he was getting sidetracked though he couldnt care less
