Of The Falls wrote:Ringmaster growled when Lucien adeptly dodged the sack. The bundle swung out of Ringmaster's hands and hit the wall at the same time the Link abruptly opened. Ringmaster faltered under the euphoric feeling that the Link's opening brought, his eyes momentarily dilating as he gave a shudder. And then Roslynn was speaking and he gave a grin.
Get over here.
And that's when the phone rang. Ringmaster was pulled out of his blood lust battle haze by the offending noise, frowning at how it jarred against his ears. Of course it was Lucien's phone. Who else would have the audacity to take a phone to a sure fight? He was about to give Roslynn the order to maul Lucien's retreating a** when William's sudden appearance made his heart freeze.
...
William had ignored Daniel when he said the injuries weren't as bad as they seemed. There was blood and there were tears and that was injury enough for him. He had just begun to dab away at the blood with the dark sleeve of his oversized long sleeve shirt when Roslynn caught up and began to usher them away. Daniel obediently followed, so William did as well. That is, until another yell drifted towards them. Daniel turned towards the sound and William followed suit, his slender fingers absently reaching for his fiance and curling up in the fabric of Daniel's shirt sleeve for reassurance.
He looked to Daniel. "What-" Logic stopped him before he could even get mid sentence. Why was he even bothering to ask? Daniel didn't want to speak and Roslynn was obviously trying to shield them from something. Perhaps it would be wise to walk away. But the voice was so familiar!
William's hand slid down to Daniel's hand. He grasped Daniel's hand firmly as he stepped forward, forcing down a wave of panic-like fear in the process. Something was happening and it had hurt Daniel. He didn't want to stay in the dark about the goings-on at Sideshow. As they neared the scene, he recognized the form of the man walking towards them. Apprehension grew within his chest at the sight of Lucien. Never before had he interacted with the handsome assassin before. It had been one of those situations where Ringmaster had always been very adamant about keeping William suppressed within their mind.
As Lucien was slowly jogging nonchalantly away, he stopped in his tracks upon seeing blood-streaked and tear-stained Daniel, a toothy grin spreading across his lips. But, then, his syrup-brown gaze flicked over to the person holding onto Daniel, and his smile faded to be replaced by a look of confusion. The male with Daniel was shorter than the ebon-haired man, and very, very similar to Ringmaster in his appearance. "What is this?" Lucien asked in that silky, yet bewildered, voice. "There are two of him? This is new," Lachance continued with a quiet purr, stepping closer to look at William. Daniel tightened is grip as Lucien stepped closer, but the assassin merely chuckled. "I've already had my fun, calm down, boy," he mocked with a slight glint of malice in his deep, dark eyes. He pulled down the hood of his black robe, his tied-back brunette hair still perfectly kept and neat, despite the fight he'd just been part of. The sunlight shining down caught the contours of his cheekbones and the angle of his strong jaw, with a slight bit of stubble covering his skin.
