It was too late, Athena realized in horror as she slipped on the ice, a terrible sounding loud crack following soon after.

"Ow..." she groaned as immense pain rushed in from her left leg. She stayed there looking at the stars until she gathered enough courage to look down at the damage. She winced at what she saw. Her leg was in an irregular shape and she could feel blood dripping from a wound on her thigh. Great, what a wonderful way to start the day.

My eyes widened as I watched the girl fall. A large cracking sound could be heard and blood started to slightly drip. Her leg looked to be broken, which definitely not what I had wanted to happen. I ran over and knelt down beside her. "Are you okay?" I asked quickly then dissolved any remaining ice around her. "I am so sorry! I had no idea it had the capability of hurting anyone like that!"

“That explains it then, and you smelling off wasn’t meant to be an insult by the way. I just had never smelled anything like some of the under tones in your scent”, she said innocently. Truthfully the best way she could describe it in general was if darkness had an actual scent that would definitely be it, with a mix of smoky and something more earthy added in. She let her eyes shift into the piercing green cat like eyes of her jaguar form, partially finding the whole exchange amusing.

Athena looked up and saw a man worried above her. She grimaced at the pain, but then mustered a smile.

"Oh no, it's fine, I can heal it," She reassures him. She hovers her hands around the injury and closes her eyes in concentration. She summons the happiest memory she can think of, and a soft glow begins to appear from her hands. It magnifies into a radiant burst of light and positive energy, and she focuses it onto her wound. The magic energy heals her wound in a matter of seconds, making it appear as if there was no injury to begin with. She stops concentrating and the radiant light fades away. She gets up with ease, dusts her hands and grabs her suitcase handle. Then she look up at the boy. He has white hair that reminded you of snow, bright blue eyes that reminded you of a chilling breeze on a Saturday morning and an easy smile that could make all the girls swoon. Yep, this dude was definitely a player.

"Um hi, my name's Athena," she says awkwardly. "I'm new here, and I'm a light element." She mentally curses herself. Usually, she wasn't this bad at conversation but he had caught her off guard.

“Werejaguar unfortunately for me”, she almost snarled some of the marking around her eyes appearing.
If she was being honest she loathed being a Werejaguar, sure it came with super strength but being afraid to go to sleep evernight drove her crazy. “Wait do we have roommates”, she said suddenly very nervous of how school staff would react if she horribly injured another student.

I watched in awe as she healed her own leg. That was one wicked ability that I should have totally been born with.All those years messing around and having to wait months for a bone to heal, where has this girl been all those times?I smiled at her as she stood up. "Nice to meet you Athena. Once again, sorry about the ice, I am still learning." Not entirely true, but I don't want to think I broke her leg on purpose, that was an accident... I brushed my hair slightly out of my face. "I'm Kai, I am an ice element and not the best as you can see." I let out a small embarrassed laugh.

I watched closely as markings formed around the girl's eyes. Her mood suddenly shifted though, and I could feel the nervousness practically roll off of her. "Yeah, we have roommates. The whole dorm system is two girls to a dorm." I smirked at her. "You can't control it can you?"

“No Werejaguars that I’ve ever read about can control it entirely, but the worst times are when we’re unconscious because it takes our humanity out of the equation entirely”, she said frowning. She couldn’t help but wonder if a demon like the girl in front of her would be bothered by a lack of her humanity, assuming she had any in the first place.

I looked at her with a small smile. Humanity was a waste, no one at this academy were human but yet they dwelled onto their 'humanity.' "You are a werejaguar, if you didn't hold on to humanity, you would be able to control the abilities better." I looked around and then back at her. "Werejaguars have been recorded thousands of years ago to have full control, they just were not good." I smiled to myself. "They knew how to have a good time."

“How”, she asked confused by the demon’s response, “How could they control it I’ve always heard it’s impossible”. She mulled over the demon statement about humanity for a second before shaking her head, “It doesn’t make sense, being unconscious removes rational thought and replaces it with the instincts of a predator and killer”.
