Jace scratched the back of his head, feeling a bit embarrassed. "Yeup!" he said in a soft whisper. His eyes drifted to the clock on the wall and he wondered if he should even get his books out. With a sigh he leaned over in his chair to pull a notebook and pencil from his backpack, then sat back up and smiled at finny. "I'm Jace." he introduced his self.

Finny flashed a sympathetic grin at him. "Relax, I'm late too. Got here a few minutes ago." She attempted to flip one of her notebook pages to a clean page, but failed miserably. "Stupid things, can't even turn pages.." She muttered under her breath, dropping the notebook in defeat.

"Well that makes me feel better." he sighed and tapped his pencil restlessly against the top of his desk. When he noticed Finny struggling with her notebook he leaned over in his chair and flipped a few pages over. "Here." he said, leaving her book open to a fresh page. "Those gloves seem to be giving you a bit of trouble." he chuckled and sat back in his chair. "Why don't you just take them off?" he asked, cocking his head to the side slightly and looking at her with his puppy dog eyes.

Finny waggled her fingers and grinned. "Can't. I built 'em to lock on when you put them on, and the key's at home. Besides, I feel better with them on. Safer. They're heavy, pack a good punch if necessary. Anyway, thanks for turning that for me. These things get in the way quite a bit."

"Safer?" Jace repeated quietly to himself and then nodded his head "You're very welcome. I'm always glad to help." He wanted to ask her more about the gloves but he decided that it was none of his business. If she liked wearing them, then who was he to judge?

She leaned back in her chair, still looking at Jace, her arms now crossed in front of her chest. "So, Jace, tell me about yourself. What're you like? What's your favorite color? Personal secrets? I'm absolutely dying to know. Also, never gave you my name, it's Finny."

Jace was surprised by her sudden interest in him and he peeked up at the teacher to make sure he wasn't looking at them. "Hmm..." he hummed, thinking of what to say. "Well,Finny. My favorite color is purple, I think i'm a pretty nice guy, and a secret?" he stopped and tapped his chin. "I....." he dragged out his answer for a bit of suspense "-can't swim."

She watched him talk, restraining a laugh. "Alright, my turn. Blue, I'm sarcastic and have no friends because of it, and..these gloves aren't for what you think they are." She said, drumming her fingers together gently as she spoke. "And that is all I will say. The end."

"Ah, so the gloves aren't because you're secretly a cyborg with metal hands? I thought what I was thinking was spot on." he said sarcastically, faking disappointment. "Guess i'll have to keep thinking." Jace chuckled and sat upright in his seat. He checked the clock again then let his eyes travel around the room. Outside he could see rain drops falling from the dark sky and he propped his elbows onto his desk. "If I had known it was going to rain then I would have brought an umbrella," he thought and rested his chin on the palm of his hand. He really didn't do well with water.

Finny rolled her eyes, drawing her knee up to her chest. "I regret to inform you that that is not the purpose of these gloves. Sorry to disappoint." She waved her hands and followed his gaze to the window. "Rain. Well, that's one more dreary thing to add to the day."
