Leonardo | River | Anthro Form | Tagged; Ash, Aurora, Juniper
Leonardo rose to his feet and had followed Aurora. With his vision, he had to stay close to her otherwise he'd have to rely on his hearing and sense of smell to guide him. It didn't help that the smoke made it hard to actually pick up scents which was why he was surprised to hear of the presence of Quell. "Honestly how can you smell anything but smoke" he rasped under his breath, tired from the rescue and the hard run he'd put himself through. The presence of Quell did not frighten him but it made him suspicious as to why they were here in the first place. He was startled by Ashs advance, "We are all in no condition to fight. If we must, we shall. But for now we need to make sure our brothers and sisters are safe from the much more dangerous threat at hand- the fire"

Hawthorne shook his head at Soren's offer. " Thank you, but I'm fine. Would you give my half to Alex? She needs it more than I do." He said. Hawthorne's power was still very strong. His athleticism and practice with magic made him very powerful. There was easily several hundred feet of the earthen barriers now. It covered a good bit of the fire, protecting them. Though, it still wasn't enough to stop the fire completely. The captain was doing his best, but he was beginning to doubt if they could do this alone. He knew he and Basil were already pushing their limits. Hawthorne swiped at his forehead with his sleeve, smearing the sweat and soot on his face. He glanced over at Basil, his eyes widening as he saw a piece of the barrier near her begin to crumble.

Donnie made trees that were on fire topple and fall over away from the barriers that way the fire wouldn't spread anymore than it already had. He was sweaty and occasionally he had a coughing fit but otherwise his magic was holding up. He jumped when Spencer, in her clouded leopard form, pawed at his feet playfully. "They are near Donnie" she informed. Donnie nodded and put up a few more walls before setting up a plan for his next mission.

Basil stopped manipulating the earth barrier as she heard her name. Adrenaline rushed through her, giving her power a sort of second wind." Thanks, Soren" Basil said gratefully accepting the scarf. She knew how much his scarf meant to him and was touched he offered it. Basil did as he told, tying it around her head. Her green bangs stood up in an almost comical way as she did. Then, the princess turned back to the wall, helping Hawthorne pack the earth in tightly. Strangely, she didn't feel terribly tired anymore. But, it was most likely because she had overused her power and hadn't realized it. Basil, already fair skinned, looked almost as white as a sheet now. She blinked, a slight woozy feeling hitting her. Her heart sank as she realized she had over done it. Just a bit more... She thought stubbornly I'm tired of being a useless Royal. Basil added a bit more of the barrier, before something inside her felt as if it snapped. It was a sort of power rebound. Normally, this might have been okay, but Basil was holding up a large chunk of rock and earth when it happened. The section of the wall she was working on came crumbling down. Basil sank to her knees, unable to stop it. Thankfully, Hawthorne had noticed. He came rushing over. The captain threw himself over his much smaller sister protectively and tried to stop the barrier from crumbling. Hawthorne stopped the rocks but he wasn't quick enough to protect Basil from getting hit in the forehead with a large rock.

Alex smiled gratefully at her sister and picked an orange from the tree. She peeled it and began nibbling at the fruit. Alex watched Hawthorne and Basil working together on the wall again, smiling and shaking her head as Hawthorne refused a section of Soren's scarf. With an exasperated sigh, she watched them keep working. Alex could feel her energy returning, albeit very slowly. With horror and a sinking, useless feeling, Alex watches as the area of the wall that her sister is working on crumbles, Hawthorne throwing himself at her in an attempt to protect her and yet, Basil is still injured. All Alex can think of during this is, That should be me.

Soren frowned slightly, but nodded at Hawthorne's words, trusting his judgement. He seemed to be okay anyways, for the most part. He smiled to Basil. "It's no problem," he responded, handing Alex the other part of his scarf. The smile was soon to fade as he took a note of Basil's condition, knowing she couldn't keep it up much longer. He fixed his sword back into its sheathe, only having needed it to cut his scarf, anyways. He was startled at the sound of something collapsing, and looked up with a flash of horror as a section of the wall fell. He was thankful Hawthorne was quick to react, protecting Basil from what could have been much worse. "Basil-!" He called her name out, tensing up. He moved closer to the other two, glancing up nervously, worried something else would collapse and not wanting to put himself in harm's way, too, not wanting to end up another person to worry about. "Basil, are you okay-? A-Are - I- Is she awake?" He focused on Basil, briefly, before looking at his older brother at his second question, worried she'd lost consciousness. They had to stop. This was falling apart rapidly- he could almost feel how much they'd pushed themselves, and as proud as he was for how much they'd done, he knew they couldn't keep it up. It'd only get worse.

Basil was unconsious, but very much alive. The falling rock and debris had given her a nasty gash on her forehead. It had already bleed through the scarf Soren had given her. But thankfully, Hawthrone had protected them from much worse harm. When she awaoke, she would probably consider herself lucky. With the amount of rock they had been maipulating, things could have been much worse. Though, it was clear that Basil needed a healer quickly. Not only had she overused her power, but she now she was injured. Basil gave a soft whimper Hawthrone picked her up gently, but she didn't wake up.

Hawthorne stabilized the wall, making sure that no more rock fell. He had used himself as a sort of shield to protect Basil from the debris. When he was confident the barrier was stable, the captain stood up carefully, still holding Basil protectively, a sinking feeling in his chest. His heart pounded loudly in his ears as he looked down at her. The small princess was still unconscious and the gash on her forehead was bleeding badly. It stained his light grey tee shirt as he held her. " Good heavens...." He breathed in shock. It was worse than he had thought, or so it seemed. He wasn't a healer, but he had done his fair share of first aid on his men. head wounds were dangerous and they always bled badly. Hawthorne couldn't help but feel a painful stab of guilt. He had done his best to protect his siblings, but he had let them all down. Racked with guilt, the captain glanced at him siblings. Both of his sisters were hurt and it was his fault. His gaze returned to Basil in his arms, who looked in pain. " Soren..." he said quietly. Hawthrone knew she needed help and quickly. He stood up, looking at Soren. His hazel eyes were filled with guilt and sadness. " Can you teleport them home? It's too dangerous out here." He said sharply, " I'm going to go get the others and bring them home as well. They've done enough to help put out the fire." Guiltily, the captain looked away from his siblings and towards the remaining peice of the barrier, " It's not worth risking our lives for. " Hawthorne wasn't going to let anyonne else get hurt- or worse up here. Not even Donatello. It was now his mission to bring them all home safely.

Alex stares at the area of the wall that hurt her sister, the thought just circling in her head. That should've been me. That should've been me. She's not entirely listening to her brother talk, but she catches the part about Soren taking her and Basil home. Alex shakes her head. "You could use Soren's help. If you don't want us in danger, then we close some walls around me and Basil while you two do whatever. The barricade would keep us safe," Alex says, wanting her siblings to be safe. And that includes Hawthorne, even if he doesn't always need it.

Soren couldn't relax himself if he tried. He could tell Basil was alive, at least, but it was easy for anyone to tell how dire her condition was. He felt horrid. This was his idea- he'd encouraged it, pushed the idea of helping with the fire without hesitance. He knew it would be dangerous, but he'd underestimated how much so, and guilt was digging itself into him. He felt frustrated, so much so it almost made him nauseous, but hearing his name spoken in a tone quieter than what he'd expected got his attention back on Hawthorne. He frowned slightly at his question, pulling his wings up close to himself and sighing softly. "I don't know if I can go that far," he answered honestly. "I... It's harder for me to move people. Especially two. I'm... I'm sorry."
He looked at Alex, furrowing his eyebrows. He could agree, at least in part, though he didn't feel especially helpful. He stood up slowly, stepping closer to Basil and Hawthorne. "You really shouldn't try to stay up here alone. I don't..." He paused, mentally cursing himself as his voice broke slightly. "I don't think it's safe. We've made ourselves obviously known... who knows where the howlers might be, what they might be doing. You're strong, but it's not smart for anyone to try and take that on alone. We don't want you getting hurt, too." Soren's voice was softer than usual, but it was firm. He clearly wasn't intent on ending up with all of his siblings that were with him horribly injured. His gaze settled on Basil, and he bit his lip. "Besides, I'm a lot better at healing. I should take care of her before trying to go anywhere... Since I'm not too certain I could teleport them back, I can at least help in that way."
