Soren smiled slightly as Hawthorne let Alex help. He held similar worries, but it wouldn't do any good to not try. He stood back a bit, focused on watching over them more than anything, taking note of how using their magic was starting to take its toll. He fumbled with his scarf a bit as he watched Alex anxiously, gripping it tighter as she collapsed. He didn't need Hawthorne to call him over; he was quick to move to her side, opening his wings up a bit and raising them to make a sort of cover along with the wall. It was more of a habit than anything, than something he consciously did to try to help. "Alex- you did well, don't worry," he reassured her, reaching a hand over and gently grabbing her arm. "They've just had a lot more time to get used to earth magic." He focused his energy on healing her, having mixed feelings that his powers came in handy when its usefulness meant one of his siblings ended up in poor condition. He used it to work on mending her fatigue, helping her recover the strength she'd lost. "You shouldn't push yourself so hard... I know you want to help, but don't sacrifice your own health to do that." His voice held an obvious concern, as she'd lost an almost terrifying amount of energy. It was obvious to him that she overworked herself, and he only hoped that her recovering her strength wouldn't lead her into trying to use her magic again. He wasn't even sure she'd be able to, and really didn't want her to try.

Basil had been quietly observing her siblings as Alex joined them in building the high walls. She didn't like the idea of her sister helping with the earth magic, since it could be risky, but she didn't say anything about it. Both Alex and Hawthorne knew the dangers of overusing a power. And Hawthorne rarely made impulsive decisions; he always thought things through before acting. Though, it didn't put her mind at ease. Basil focused on manipulating the earthen barriers, until Hawthorne's shout snapped her concentration. She looked over to her siblings, panic rising in her chest as she saw Alex on the ground and her brothers kneeling over her. Abandoning the barrier, she ran over as well. Basil didn't even have to ask what happened; Alex had over used the green magic. Basil only hoped that Soren could heal her. She looked over at Soren, a worried look in her eyes. How bad is she? Basil thought, but didn't want to ask for fear it would scare Alex.

Donnie warily gazed up at Josh's attempt to make a wall and shrugged. "It's a decent build. It'll stand so long as nothing big runs into it" he said, flinching when he saw a rabbit dash past them and away from the fire. "Jeezus" he mumbled as he rose to his feet. There was no getting rid of the weariness he felt but at least his magic was somewhat restored. "Good job though. You aren't useless after all" he says smirking slightly.
He sighed as he moved to peek around the wall, hissing softly at the intense heat from the fire. "I can see more walls from here. Seems like Basil has finally decided to help" he muttered, "I'll knock down the trees the fire is already consuming. Gently so sparks won't fly into the air. That way the fire won't climb higher than these walls" he said, thinking aloud since the lack of oxygen was making it difficult to think period.

Alex lets out a groaning laugh and pushed herself into a sitting position. "I'm fine, Hawthorne," she replies with a small smile, her voice tired. "I just need a good sleep and some fruit. This uh, this isn't the first time I've done this," she adds, gesturing at herself. She rubs a hand over her face, covering a yawn at the same time. "You guys keep going, you don't need to worry about me," she says, trying to make her smile look more encouraging.

" Alright" Hawthrone nodded slightly. He tried to hide it, but he was still worried about Alex. Though, Soren did seem to be healing her. Mustering up a small smile, he put his hand on Alex's shoulder " Rest here awhile, okay? We'll get home as soon as we can. You can rest and eat then." He said confidently. Satisfied that she would be alright with Soren, the captain stood and turned back to the fire, The quicker they finished setting up the barriers, the sooner they could go home. " Come on, Basil" Hawthorn said, heading back closer to the barrier with his sister. He held up his hands, finding it easier to control the huge chunks of earth. Once again, Hawthorne shaped the earthen walls with almost no effort. Several more yards of the barrier sprang up at his command. But, it was clear to see that his power was weakening. The heat of the fire and the thick smoke on top of the enormous strain of using his power was begining to take it's toll.

Once the young Howlers were safe, she carefully led the elders out of the camp. Many recognized her from when she was younger and voluntarily let her help. She too recognized some of them, and even noticed the older male alpha. For a split second she looked for her mother who looked so much like herself, just hoping that the Howlers had been wrong about her dying. But no familiar face stood out in the crowd and she left the camp a little defeated. Her paws were covered in ash and soot now and left little footprints wherever she walked. Arkady looked to where the fire was and could the walls of earth. They need to leave before the alphas find them.

Aurora nodded before smelling the distinct scent of Quell. "Quell." She snarled the word and looked to where she could now see walls of earth rising to the sky. How dare they? We don't want or need their help. Her heart raced but she resisted the urge to go to them. Your family needs you. "Let's get back to camp and then deal with them being here." Aurora didn't really have anything against the Quell, but she didn't want them near her family when they were in such a crisis. She began leading the group back when she saw a black figure out of the conner of her eye dart away. "Ash!"

Ash noticed the scent of the Quell as well and she lifted her head into the air. She was regaining some of her strength but slowly. Her breathing was still ragged and pain racked her body. Still though, she was determined to protect her beloved forest. Sweet, but deadly, that's what she was. Ash transformed into her black panther form and a velvety, black pelt covered her. She stood up on shaking paws. Ash was a miracle. Dead but now standing. She was willing to go above and beyond for her family and her home. It was all she had after all. "I'll be back…" Her voice was steady unlike the rest of her and she began to run in the direction of the Quell. With each step, a jolt of pain shocked her and Ash resisted the urge to cry out. Strong. That's what she was.

Basil was relieved to see her sister looking a bit better. She had full faith in Soren's healing powers and Hawthorne's judgement. Maybe they were fight and all Alex needed was a good night's rest and something to eat. Basil summoned up a tiny orange tree, the plant shooting up from the ground rapidly and sprouted fruit. " Would this be alright?" She asked quietly. Basil smiled, offering her some of the fruit. It was a simple gesture, but she hoped that it would help. At Hawthrone's call, the quite princess stood, ready to help. Her head spun dizzily for a moment, though, the feeling quickly went away. Basil joined her brother with creating the earthen barriers. Somehow, she felt a renewed sense of energy and power. Together, the four Quell were slowly getting the fire under control.

Juniper leaned against Aurora until he felt a little better. His ears perked up slightly as he noticed the scent of the Quell. His eyes widened a bit," What are they doing in the forest? It's dangerous enough with the fire!". He stood up, pointing his muzzle towards the scent. Though, it was hard to pick out different smells with the noxious smoke filling the air. Juniper nodded slightly, looking back at Aurora " We should get back to camp. Who knows how far the fire has spread... camp may have to be evacuated..." The small wild dog glanced over just as Ash ran past, " Ash!" He cried, " No!" He knew what she was doing. It was dangerous to go back to stop the Quell. He didn't hesitate to run unsteadily after her. Juniper wasn't going to lose a fellow pack member, again. " They aren't worth it " He protested, wheezing slightly as he ran. Juniper was quick and sure footed, even in the smoke and dying embers.

Soren exhaled a soft sigh as Alexandria spoke, but he at least seemed to relax slightly knowing that she was okay. He smiled at Basil's offer, hoping Alex would accept some of the fruit. He scooted back a bit so he was less in the way of his siblings as they returned to work, and he stayed more focused on Alex and her condition. Watching for a moment, he made sure his youngest sister would be fine for a moment before unwrapping his scarf from his face, now incapable of stopping his concern for the other three. "You guys shouldn't keep breathing in the air like this," he spoke aloud, frowning. "Especially using so much power..." He drew his sword out slightly, enough that its blade was exposed, and seemed intent as he observed his scarf, evaluating where to cut it. He cut two sections from it, and held the parts over to Hawthorne and Basil. "This should help a bit, just wrap it around your heads. Before it takes any more of a toll..."
