Continuing to walk, the man kept his gaze down until he stopped a couple feet away from the barracks
It was far away enough to barely see anything inside

It was alarming at how solemn the man looked.
Well, from what he could manage to see through the glasses.
"Welcome back Kristian...!" Azusa said in a soft but cheery voice, rushing forward to take the glasses off and instead push them up the bridge of the doctor's nose.

There were mixed feelings. She'd brought this upon herself. But second thoughts were creeping up into her mind... She couldn't help but arch away from his touch but lean into the kiss, or move away from the kiss and get swept away by his touch. Did she want this? He'd just say 'I told you so' if she made him stop. She hated that. So she just let him do whatever the heck he wanted for now...

"I'm Tourette! I like bunnies!" The man said happily, sort of jumping up and down. Just a bit. "And the cityyy... and food.... and squirrels... aaaaaaaaand...." Tourette could go on all day- but he just stopped there to let her get a word in.

It took a moment to register.
His first though was 'What's a crush...'
But even as innocent as he was, it came to him.
"O-oh. Ah... Why?" Mask asked suddenly.
He was nothing special. At all.
If anything, he was the most boring canine to ever exist.

His eyes blinked to get used to the glasses and he coughed to clear his throat
His face did not waiver as he put a hand on Azusa's shoulder
And gently lifted up the Mask Yersinia used to wear to show him

I smile and walk in. "Ooh! They have clothes!" I say. I walk over to a hat rack and grab a fedora.

He was a bit confused...
"T-that's Josef's...? Why do you have it...?" The deer asked in a quiet voice, moving to run his fingers up the beak of the mask.
Azusa looked up at the man with a mixture of confusion and fear, and moved his free hand to lay over the one on his shoulder.

But it still felt like a stake to the heart when it happened.
He opened his mouth to speak, but his voice just broke on the first word.
So he just wrapped his arms around Kristian best he could, and held back his own tears.
Amazing how Kris had hated his brother not too long ago.

so he decided to take it out on Azusa and cried on his shoulder

The deer hummed in a soothing way, gingerly rubbing the man's back- avoiding the more sensitive places.
This was Kristian- he knew him well, but not how to console him here...
