Flame's rage was extinguished, the flames disappearing. Staring at him for a moment, she bit her lip, looking at the Earth below her, "I was human." She said flatly, "Bad family troubles, an Angel became my guardian...And eventually, he gave up on me, he became the man my father had been, he even told me he would take up his responsibilities...Who would've thought he'd take them all, right?" She said with a dark, humorless laugh, shaking her head in disgust.

Eleos

The angel's gaze softened slightly, and despite the pain throbbing through his body, he couldn't help but feel bad for her. She'd given little away in her explanation, but he could tell she'd faced some serious hardships in life, especially considering her attitude now.
"Not all of us are that way, I assure you," he said quietly. "And those that are..." He gave a small, tentative smile. "Well, I was only accused of crimes and I was cast away from Heaven. I'm sure that makes some sort of statement about the justice system ruled by the Archangels. Whatever you faced, I know you didn't deserve..." He glanced down at the landscape below them, the fires and charred lands and crying people, though his tone was still gentle. "Just like they don't deserve what they're facing now."

[Joey.]

"They don't deserve it, but it keeps me alive," She said to him, a spark returning in her gaze, "Now leave, before I change my mind," She said, flicking her hand, the funnel of flames disappearing in a blink of an eye... Flame had committed an act of mercy? How surprising...
Surprising enough that a few feathers in her wings turned a light grey before darkening again.

Eleos

Eleos dipped his head, the fear in his demeanor evaporating. A slight smile played at his lips, but he hid it. A sense of almost triumph came over him. Not only had he faced a torment demon and lived to tell the tale, but he'd done so without any fighting, and had even gotten her to act vaguely nice. Today was a good day to be an overly kind Angel.
"Thank you." he murmured. He knew he shouldn't be thanking her, really, considering she'd attacked and all but tried to kill him. But she was sparing his life, and that had to mean something, for which he was grateful. He would live another day, which was like a blessing to him. Another day closer to finding his way back to Heaven.
Looking back up, he met Flame's gaze for just a moment before turning and tucking his wings in, diving down towards the ground, landing lightly among the people whose homes had just been destroyed.

Flame turned away, disgusted with herself. Grudgingly she landed on the ground and walked through the rubble, pausing for a moment at a house that was unmarked by the fire, surrounded by a protective barrier.
Swallowing a lump in her throat, she entered it, claw marks in the walls, dried blood peeled off of the dusty walls.
"Gods," She muttered, "Why won't this place burn?" She cursed, remembering the Angel that tortured her had put a protective barrier on it then murdered her, and since she had sinned, she went straight to Hell, swearing to get revenge.

Eleos

When a few of the people cowered at his arrival, Eleos sighed. They were absolutely terrified, and it saddened him. These people were knowing grief and fear like no one every should.
"Be calm," he murmured, offering a kind smile. "I do not come to harm, but to help."
When a small child whimpered and hid behind her mother, Eleos knelt, extending a hand to her. "There is no need to be afraid," he assured all of them. "The demon who caused such destruction here has gone."

She stepped out and took his hand, walking with him. She yawned, blinking a little.

"You look tired." Shade said with a smile at Kylane.

Kylane
"Hmm? Oh yes, tired I am.", She said. She yawned again. "I should probably give you my number.", She said pulling out her phone.

[...Ever After]

Shade laughed, "Alright, I'll text you in the morning." He said and kissed her cheek as they reached the door in the lobby of the apartment complex. He waited for her number.

"Ok, 801-473-1598, did you get that?", She asked sweetly.

"Alright, thanks." He said and turned, putting the number into his phone, "See you." He said and yawned.
